I love this stuff. I bought if after researching and asking everyone on the skincare board what would be the best ss for my sensitive, acne prone skin and I repeatedly was told to get this. I bought a bottle from Macy's about two weeks ago and I've experiences no stinging, no burning eyes--no nothing except great protection! The cons are that it does leave a white cast on my skin that isn't a huge deal, except it does show up in my eyebrows so I have to be careful about that. And, I do have to let it completely sink in before applying foundation or powder. It does make my skin a tad tacky, but no big deal. I just have to really rub in my foundation to get it even after the ss dries. I think it's a small price to pay for great sun protection. It hasn't broken me out, has helped make my skin more even and best of all NO STINGING, BALLING UP OR BURNING EYES!!

Woo! Another great WW product! This color is a glossy berry, that has healthy color. It's not as sticky as other WW lip products and give great color. I'm very pleased!

Polishes -Milani - Black Cherry

I thought this stuff was a great alternative to trendy black polish through the winter, but at my very conservative workplace everyone thought it was black and goth. Sigh. I still liked it a lot though! It wore well, looked great with short nails and lasted a long time with some extra top coat care. I expect the super dark nail trend will about over, but if you're still looking pick up this stuff.

LOVE this polish! It's a beautiful rich, work appropriate fushia pink. Goes on wonderfully. You need a separate top coat, but two thin coats of to polish and a quick clear coat lasts me three days solid. With a quick touch up it will go a full week...not bad at all. I highly recommend this polish. I haven't used it on my toes, but it's great for work and I think would work well with a variety of skin tones.

Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Cover smooth foundation
rated 2 of 5

Wow. I was browsing in CVS for a new foundation and as soon as I saw the Honey color I thought, that looks really perfect. I tested a bit on my wrist and indeed, a great match. It smelled a little strong, but wore off quickly. UPDATE: I've been using for a few weeks and I'm starting to break out. Might be too heavy. Only use for emergencies or if you are broke

One of my favorite lipsticks of all time. Admittedly, I don't buy department store products, but this is the kind of product that keeps me from looking at the mall. Sure, the smell isn't superfabulous, but it is a hi-shine, non-sticky goopy gloss with beautiful color. I see the Wet and Wild glassy lips gets decent ratings here on MUA, but this is TONS better than that junk. I've been wearing it since middle school (am a "young professional" now) and it's one of those I forget about, but keep coming back to!

Styling Products -Aveda - Purefume Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade
rated 2 of 5

I really wanted to love this product. I have coveted it ever since HS when my friend had it and I fell in love with the smell. I have long, thick fine slighty wavy hair that I blow straight. Now, I know this is a pomade and walked into the store to purchase it as a finishing product to help smooth out my hair after I completed styling it. I have thick, side bangs and planned to use a tiny bit to keep those in place. However, at the store, the SA (Chinatown, DC) told me to put in on damp hair BEFORE I blew it dry. This sounded crazy. I used it that night on my day-old dry hair to hold it back in a headband and pony. Worked fine, but noticed it sort of made my hair feel a bit dry. The next day,on a whim I used it as the sales girl told me to. I used a DAB and it didn't make my hair greasy, but it was weird. Can I say it made my hair "sheety" ? Like it just sort of hung in these flat shingles that were waxed in place. Keep in mind it wasn't terrible, but I couldn't very well get my fingers through it. It was kind of "ew." I tried it again as a finisher, but at that points I just gave up and declared this stuff sort of "ick." I returned it last night and don't miss it at all. I'm going to save my money for nice serums. And, I am very disappointed in the SA's lack of knowledge. I mean, I save up my money to go to Aveda so the people can tell me what I need. None of them have been right so far (except for when they helped me pick out a liptint shade, that was good). I no longer covet any of their hair products. Overrated. (FYI I also tried their trail sizes of the volumizer and damage control and didn't think they did ANYTHING for my hair except make it smell good for a few minutes after I sprayed it. )

Conditioner -Neutrogena - triple moisture deep recovery hair mask

WOW. I love this stuff. I did just get my haircut, but this stuff left my hair soft and smooth as silk. I didn't expect it to work nearly this well. It's too bad the packaging sucks. EDIT: I don't know how or why, but this stuff quit working as well after the first few uses. I trashed it before using up the tub. Yecchh. After awhile it made my hair feel matted and dull!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaEyes

I amazed with these little color trios! First of all the packaging is GREAT. I had purchased three of them and didn't realize it CAME WITH A PULL OUT MIRROR until I got my fourth this morning. It totally put me over the edge with these little shadows. Of the four I have, only one of them looked bad..it was the "Jewels" But, then again I have reddish hair and hazel eyes so it was a sketchy move to begin with buying it. It made my eyes look horribly swollend and bruised. BUT! The three other ones I have (so sorry don't have the names) are fabulous. One is a green colored trio, the other shimmery nuetrals and the last a compact of a champagne, a gold and a deep chocolate. They are all great. I am ESPECIALLY impressed with the last one. I got all of these at CVS for $1.99. They are usually marked $2.99 but CVS had an instore coupon for a dollar off. Even if you screw up and get things that don't look good, you've only wasted three bucks. These shadows are heavily pigminted, shimmery and last a good amount of time. If you apply them over a foundation they will last longer (I always put foundation on my eyelids just like the rest of my face.) I set it after with some loose powder and am always very happy with the results.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - morning glow spf 15
rated 2 of 5

I found this product to generally be "okay." I didn't hate it, but it would really make my eyes burn if I rubbed them and got the lotion in them mid-morning or early afternoon. Horrible! And I think it made my foundation wear off faster. I have combo-skin and it will make it a little greasy. I like using an oil-free no sting sunscreen much better!!

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Age Shield Sunblock Spf45

I really love this stuff. I read the other reviews about this balling up and never experiences this problem. I do have oily skin though so I am sure this has something to do with it. I use this every single morning and mix it up in my palm with Maybelliene Pure foundation and smear it all over my face like lotion. I don't use any any thing else and this has stays on well. I haven't noticed any more break-outs. I generally break out a bit no matter what and think this is mostly due to me not washing my face every single night. I use Cetaphil and when I do this regularly my face clears up just fine. Overall, I think this is a great product. I can telk it works because the other morning and didn't put it on, just used the pure makeup alone and got some color during my morning commute which involved a mile or so walk in the sun.

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Lip Venom
rated 3 of 5
ABCinVA 7/23/2006 5:35:00 PM

I craved this for months before someone bought it for me. I can only say I like having it around, but I'm glad I didn't buy it. I didn't think it was very "stingy" and liked the glassy texture of the gloss. On the other hand, it doesn't last very long, doesn't have hardly any color and doesn't really deliver all the plumping effects it claimes to. I think I'd get better results if I just cut up a jalapeno pepper and rubbed in all over my lips, but I'm not that desperate for thick lips. It's a fun product, it's a good gift, but don't go crazy trying to get it for yourself.

Lip Gloss -Burt's Bees - Burts Bees Lip Shimmers
rated 3 of 5
ABCinVA 7/22/2006 1:19:00 PM

I really WANT to like these things. I used to work at a Bath and Body and got them in coffee, rhubarb raisen and whatever else was dark enough for my light-medium olive colored complexion. The colors are almost right, but not quite. Pros: I like the minty tingles. Cons: That's about all I like. The package is too small, the colors are a tad too bright, the texture is too smeary and it fades away unevenly and gives you that blotched your grandma just ate coffee and doughnuts look. I would guess the light colors would be okay, but I won't bother.
