Lipstick -Kanebo - Lunasol Intellectual Lips Full Glamour
8hourcream 6/3/2008 10:54:00 AM
Eek. I love Lunasol, I really really really do - but I am not keen on this lipstick. I have it in four colours. I find the texture quite hard, and not very pigmented. I was dying for Pink Beige so much and I barely use it now - it just isnt quite as glossy, plumping, juicy as I had hoped. I paid $40 so I expect it!

Lip Gloss -Bourjois - 3D Effect - Les Nudes - 33 Brun Poetic
8hourcream 3/24/2008 4:58:00 PM
I don't tend to buy high street brands, but I did absolutely love the look of the Bourjois Les Nudes range. I saw this shade, 33, a very cool beige, then a cool pink, then two very glittery orange and glittery pink. I immediately loved shade 33 for the nude effect. It is very sparkly (silver coloured) and is great for a natural lip. It is quite a thick gloss, fairly long lasting with good coverage. There are tons of sparkles - I love it but there is definately more grain than say in my Dior glosses. But I still love it! My gloss was £7.50 ($15). Its about time a brand charged the same in the UK as they do in the US - We get ripped off on this side of the world all the time!

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Creme de gloss beige elixir (611)
8hourcream 3/8/2008 6:48:00 AM
I didn't like this at all! Even though it comes in a beautiful case, and the texture is nice and creamy, non drying, I didn't feel enough wow factor from this. I know, its supposed to be somewhere between a lipstick and a gloss, but to me, it was lacking in any true shine; it sort of looked dull in my opinion. This shade too, I thought would be a true beige, but on my lips (which are pigmented), they looked more of a brown than a beige. In my opinon, not as flattering as if it would have been had it of been a true beige.

Primer/ Corrector -RMK - Control Color in Silver Pearl
8hourcream 2/21/2008 5:11:00 PM
I've had RMK Makeovers a few times, and the product that gives me an extremely glowy look is this product. What I like about it is, that is doesn't make skin look to pale and it is very watery. I have Shu Colour Enhancer, Shiseido, Chanel, Laura Gellar, Stila, and these are ALL to thick to be natural. This gives a fab glow and works well with my NC35 skin. There is a coral shade, which does not illuminate as much, but it does make the skin warmer, but not as dewy.

Eye Shadow -Shiseido - Hydro-Powder eyeshadows - new colors for Spring 2008
8hourcream 2/2/2008 3:50:00 PM
I adore Hydro Powers as they have the most gorge shimmer and non creasing abilites. I like the spring colours even though they are pastelly and all lights. I am very fond of Lemon Sugar especially and Rose Tulle, but they are very much base colours as they lack pigmentation. Languid Lagoon is gorgeous! But I think the colours they have released are not brand new. Languid Lagoon is blue like Aqua, Lemon Sugar is essentially almost a light gold, Rose is like Bare Pink or Spring Plum and Clover Dew is unique but light. It would be nice to have a hydro power in black (WOW!), or is a red, or in a orange...you know, something totally new!

Eyeliner -NARS - Liquid Liner
8hourcream 12/26/2007 7:28:00 AM
Nars Eyeliner is fabulous when used well...but I must admit, it is not the easiest thing to use. The formula can be thick (weather permitting), and I live somewhere cold so it takes a bit of warming up. I leave them upside down so that when I use it there is always some product in the lid to dip into. The brush you get with it is utterly useless. A push brush is better with this product. The colours are STUNNING. I have Shake Down, the Black one (something Angel!), Eqqus, Silkwood and Peacock. A lot of them are disappearing off the website since they are being reformulated and put into a easier to use form. Some colours will disappear so I think it is worth stocking up if you are in love with a shade. ** Ever had a Deja Vu Moment? I am sure I bought a foresty green colour...hmm must go and look for it. But I digress....** Anyway, I went for a make over recently and the MA use it to tightline with and i dried like a dream and lasted like a dream. When I did it myself I poked myself in the eye and it stung. So you need a bit of skill to use this baby, but I really recommend it the colours are stunning. But maybe not a daily product.

Highlighters -NARS - The Multiple in Copacabana
8hourcream 12/15/2007 6:57:00 PM
Ermmm.... I don't know. I just don't know. I have five multiples and first became obsessed with Palm Beach, even though it gave me spots on my cheek. Copacobana is my newest purchase because I thought the silvery highlighter is a real staple in any kit. However - I can't help thinking that it is very similar to a number of silvery highlighters that are much less than a whopping £27. True it will last a long time though. I have issues with the packaging. Out of the five I own, three will twist out but will not twist back in. When I complained I was told that this sometimes happen so...that's that. We don't have the excellent returns policy like you do in the US! Basically much arguement insued but they insisted it was the packaging that was broken, not the product itself but its really not good enough for the price.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Big Bang glossimer
8hourcream 11/23/2007 3:40:00 PM
Oooh I said when I tried this on my hand. Ooooh indeed. Look, I have a million lipglosses, I certainly don't need anymore. But there's something about this gloss - it is totally shimmery and a sheer red-pink on my pigmented lips that just looks lush. It has a nice texture (though not long lasting) and really gleams in these cold winters! This is NOT a LE item in the UK.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Night Series Palette (2007) (6 pan)
8hourcream 10/31/2007 9:50:00 PM
I bought this palette as I generally like the Night Series eyeshadows from Nars - Night Porter, (Green on Black) is one of my favourites. Lo and behold, I can have six colours all together on one Palette! Shades are: • Night Star a sheer peach with gold glitter • Night Snow a sheer white with silver glitter • Night Fever a deep black with red glitter • Night Clubbing a deep black with gold glitter • Night Rider a soft plum with silver glitter • Night Fairy a pale violet with gold glitter I tried to use it tonight - Only two of the colours are soft and easy to apply - Night Fever and Night Clubbing (the darkest shades. The Night Snow has large chunks of white glitter - I mean large, and they don't stick anyway!!! ) Disappointing. The other remaining shades are hard and very chalky, and are glittery. with the mearest hint of colour. I was scraping the surface, literally, probably a pound a scrapy. Ugh. Eye Shadow -Stila - floating eyeshadow pink drizzle
8hourcream 9/29/2007 11:28:00 PM
I have this shade and also in Gold Dew and Peach Splash. They are nice and watery, but when applied I found that they are all basically a pale shimmer. There are plenty of products that do this but leave a veil of colour, like Paul & Joe eye glosses, or Vissee or Beaute de Kose cream eyeshadows. This is a really disposable product unfortunately.

Lipstick -BeneFit Cosmetics - Rush Hour for lips and cheeks
8hourcream 9/28/2007 4:07:00 PM
I shouldn't buy multi use products because I always find that single use items are better but what the hey, this had a nice case. This is a cream textured cool toned mid rose. The colour is lovely for cheeks and lips, and is easily blended. Its also nicely compact (but wow, £17 for 1gram?! at least I will finish it this life time, hey?!) I recommend this for fun factor but not necessarily as a staple.

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - High Brow
8hourcream 9/28/2007 4:04:00 PM
I have tried a few benefit "fix its" but for me they have never really lived up to their promises. This one is fab though - I love the creamyness of the texture, and i like the way it makes the eyes pop. Although highlighting under the brow is a no brainer, sometimes shimmer is not the best thing, especially if you have a large area and small lids (like me) so its great that this is matte. You still need to blend it, but I really like this product.

Lipstick -Sofina - AUBE Rouge Aqua Dress lipstick
8hourcream 9/18/2007 10:17:00 PM
I bought three of these through a friend in Hong Kong - PK523, RD525 and RS512. I saw PK523 on the main model and thought it looked stunning. However I've found all the lipsticks to be a bit bleh colour wise. Since they are called Aqua Dress, I was hoping for more of a translucent glow - there was a hint of gloss but I didn't get the vavavoom I wanted. They gave a good enough colour payoff but it just didn't make my lips look as luminous as my T'estimo or Maquillage lipsticks did.

Mascara -Dejavu (Imju) - Fiberwig Lash Knockout
8hourcream 9/12/2007 3:45:00 PM
I am obsessed with Japanese mascaras, because I think they tend to hold curl the best. This mascara is very fibery and glossy. When applying (and I don't have sensitive eyes), I found that the fiberes managed to poke me in the eye. So I tried just applying it to the ends of my lashes but I still found they irriated my eyes a lot - to the point where I only used it twice. There are plenty of better fibre based mascaras. SANA's Big Lash is amazing - fibery, but very very lengthening and also hold the curl amazingly. Its better than Shu or any other I have tried. HOWEVER! the SANA one is a real pain to get off, but at least you can swim the atlantic with i.

Crème -Shiseido - Hydro-Liquid Compact
8hourcream 9/8/2007 5:32:00 PM
I am always buying foundation compacts - god knows why. I have quite a few powder based foundations but they just don't look good on - I like dewy and radiant as opposed to flat. Guess my skin is dryer than I think..anyway..... Creamy foundations are my favourite. I have used Chanel and Lancome, which were too purfumed and made my face itch. I also used Shu which is nice but left my face patchy. But there's something about this one - when I check myself in the mirror, its glowing and smooth. The biggest drawback with this foundation is that it does NOT last long at all. When I used it everyday it lasted 5 weeks tops. Pricey. But I would buy it again!
