Self Tanners -Banana Boat - Sunless Tanning Creme - Deep Dark
604nailpro 4/23/2012 11:42:00 AM
LOVE this! Its super dark after just one application. That being said, MAKE SURE YOU WEAR GLOVES!!! I use regular hospital rubber gloves. This stuff stains your palms like crazy. In the rare event that you do get it on your palms on on the underside of your feet(it looks insanely dark and weird), use a pumice stone to gently rub it away. To tan your hands, apply to your entire body and face with gloves then remove gloves and whatever is left on the gloves, lihtly rub on the top of your hands, avoiding the webbed part between fingers. Ive tried exoliating in the shower before applicating and Ive tried putting it on without exfoliating and I can't see a difference. It does dry out your skin after a few days so make sure youre applying a moisturizer head to toe. I apply Banana Boat twice a week after the shower. I wait an hour before getting into bed but be warned, it will rub off on sheets so stick to dark ones. I use this on my FACE as well and have not broke out or had any issues. I actually apply it to my face every morning before my makeup becuase my face doesnt like to absorbe anything. For 3 years I used Jergens gradual toner in Medium-Dark but it doesnt really make a difference in color I find...other than minimizing the 'ghost' look. Banana Boat makes you look like you've been sitting in the sun and the tan is VERY noticable. The tanner scent is still present but its less noticable that jergens.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Dermaglow Nuvectin Lip Plumper
604nailpro 3/2/2012 1:39:00 PM
The product is the one pictured above... I believe some of the other posts on this product may be for the OTHER lip plumping stuff by Dermaglow which is actually a gloss, this is more aof a chapstick/lipstick consistancy. I tried this a few years ago and it didnt work but I gave it another try because I'm hopeful and no, it still doesnt work. I use this several times a day and go to bed with liberal amounts on. its been 30 days today and there is NO change on volume/size. On the other hand, it does protect my lips from getting chapped and dry and theres little to no fregrance/taste, but thats not worth buying $20 lipstick when I can buy Lipsmackers for $2. Its expensive in Canada (shoppers drug mart) but I got it on sale for $20. Will not buy again.
Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Curl Conscious Conditioner, Fine to Medium

The version I used did not say it was for fine or thick hair, just Curl Conscious. I LOVE THIS STUFF! I have wavy frizzy hair thats been coloured many times and I look like a lion with my natural hair. This gives me lovely beachy waves with curly tendrils underneath. The smell is great, no irritation, just great hair. But its damn expensive. Also, I use it with the Curl Conscious shampoo, I'm not sure if it really adds to the lovely hair but I enjoy it. The major perk of this line is the CURL CONSIOUS SPRAY! it really does revive curls with no stickyness or grease. it even makes my frizzy mess of hair into a nice curl/wave do'. That being said, if I use the spray (in wet or dry hair), I cant go a second day without a wash, it just doesnt feel as nice on day 2. TIP: instead of using drying hair spray to pull my hair into a pony tain & tame flyaways, I use the Bumble and Bumble Curl Consious spray to keep everything in place.
Eyes -Unlisted Brand - Careprost~Generic Brand Latisse

UPDATE * A YEAR AND A HALF LATER* For all of you looking to get this product in the US or Canada, I've got it delivered to the US via alldaychemist.com and then my friend at the delivery address forwarded it to my Canadian address. I've been told by other MUA members that the following sites will also ship careprost: canadamedicieshop, reliableRxPharmacy, essentialdayspa.com , ioffer. I've visited my optometrist twice and there are NO issues with my eyes. My eyelids do turn a slight redish brown which is obvious all the time however a little makeup fixes it and no one, not even my girlfriends or husband have noticed the darkening, only me. My eyes are no longer irritated by the product liek I originally posted below. My blue eyes have not changed colour at all. Some people reported that their Iris color was changing brown however I have not experienced this at all. My lashes grow long, and they curl more due to Careprost. Many people think Im wearing mascara or false lashes when I'm not. CLARIFICATION: this product will not give you more lashes, it works by keeping your eyelashes in their growth cycle thus not allowing them to die off and fall out. This is why they just keep growing and growing. If you are looking for thicker/more lashes, this will not work for you. You wont need to trim your lashes. When they get out of control long, they'll come off with you touching your face and washing your face/shower/etc. This is my MOST LOVED PRODUCT! ORIGINAL REVIEW: For the first 2 weeks there was some irritation around my eyes. It was slighlty darker but nothing major. the frst 5 days my eyes were blood shot but again not that bad. it took 5-6 weeks to see any improvement. Ive now been using careprost (bimatoprost) for 9-10 weeks and people around me are commenting on how great my lashes look. Theyr'e longer but there arent more lashes.Theyre also curling ALOT. I use this on the top and bottom lashes and Im very pleased with the results. I apply with a slanted brow brush that I got from walmart. I apply in the morning after I wash my face and at night after showering and use one drop per eye. I have no irritation, discoloration or anything negative to say about this product. would highly recomend!
Im enjoying the full 18 count palette with pinks and reds. Cost was about 26$ so I got my moneys worth. Ive found that I can usualy mix a couple to find a desired shade but I wish there were more lighter colors. These feel like they're aimed at older women who desire a stronger, bolder lip color, so in otherwords I will never use the deep reds/purples. Theyre all creme with no noticable shimmer or sparkle. Apply nicely with the brush. Last a few hours which is in line with other lipsticks. They dont run but are more liquidy then a creme lipstick stick so if youre making funny faces or are careless, it could get messy. For a lipstick in a palette, its great but in the future I'll stick with lipstick sticks.
Ive been using this powder blush for 3 weeks. Overall, Im satisfied with the product itself but feel its overpriced. The color is generally nice but because im tanned/olive colored I really have to pile it on. Im rating this product on the poorer side because THE PACKAGING IS HORRIBLE! Somehow the little blush particles manage to get out of the compact and are all through my makeup case even though Ive been closing it properly. Ive never had this issue with any other powders (blush, shadow, bronzer, etc). None the less we wear makeup to look pretty, and it does just that. It looks very nice on. Now please excuse me, I have to go clean out my makeup case...
First off, the sales lady at mac recomended I try a color that is way too yellow for me. I told her it looked way to yellow but she said the yellow would subside over the day, which it didnt. I tried applying it with a brush but found it was harder to spread out and therefore I put on way too much and looked cakey. Since then Ive used just my fingers for applying and it works out better. Still cakey but that may be because its so freakin yellow and Im not yellow in the least. If I use this product for more than 2 days, its guaranteed I will break out. This makeup is also really hard to remove. I only use it when I have a big event or if Im clubbign as it doesnt melt as badly as other makeup when I get sweaty and hot. But even then I have to apply ALOT of bronzer and powder to get the color correct. It seems like alot of us are breaking out from this product and thats the worst. I won't be buying this product again.
This is the best face tanner I've found under 10$. I cant use it every day because it makes my skin too oily and too dark ( im already naturally tanned and I use this to keep up my tan between fake and bake sessions). Im actually upset because this product is NO LONGER SOLD in the vancouver canada area. I havent found any in the last year. All the other building face tanners Ive tried either flake or are way too oily.
LOVE this toner. Ive been using it for years and its cheap! I have oily skin and when I wear makeup, I start to break out. If I use this toner after washing my face, it dries out my skin just enough to dry out little pimples and therefore it clears up my skin. My skin never actually feels dry, just clean. This may not work as well if you have dry skin to begin with. I also notice that I have a healthy glow (kinda tanned) when I use this. I dont use it every day. Just 2-3 times a week at most and of coarse more in the summer months.
Conditioner -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Conditioner
604nailpro 6/6/2010 11:30:00 PM
I purchased this product at shoppers drug mart as all Salons were sold out in my area and sephora no longer carries it. Ive been using this product for a week and a half. I have naturally brown fine dry hair which is now lighlighted blonde. I love that I only need to use a quarter size amount of this for it to do its magic. It does take a bit longer to work it through my below the shoulder length hair (its a very thick formula) but I have noticed some shine. I would like to see more but yes it does make my hair look a bit more glossy. My hair is soft and it has helped repair my bleached hair. My hair is less frizzy and more manageable. UPDATE! after about 3 to 4 weeks the back of my neck started to get very itchy and I got bumps similar to mosquito bites but were colorless and not visible unless looking closely. I have since stopped using this, went back to treseme and the rash went away. I was using fekkai glossing shampoo, conditioner, and fekkai salon shine glaze and no other hair products. Not sure which Fekkai product gave me the rash. Will update again if figure that out... Anyone else get rashes from Fekkai products?
This is the best mascara I have ever used and I use is every day. Yes its expensive and I rarely spend much on makeup but this is one item I dont mind paying extra for. You have to apply it over and over to get lashes to fan out properly and to remove any clumps but its totally doable. I love how the mascara is more wet so it applies easily and seems to last forever (longer than drugstore brands). That magic is really in the brush. If youre looking for vavavoom lashes that almost look like falsies, this is for you.
