Top/Base Coats -Essie - fill the gap! ridge filling base coat

This is an expensive drug store product. That said, I would buy it again. It makes my nails this beautiful matte milky pinkish color that I just adore. It goes on smoothly with no streaks and dries instantly. Not to mention it smooths out ridges for if I ever choose to wear polish but I am just saying, it's a pretty look all on it's own!
This is a beautiful sheer (but not too sheer) creamy white color with subtle small golden glitter that is just barely visible. I put on two coats on a week ago and my nails still look great. I have short nails for work and typing and am in my upper 40's so I try to keep my manicure as classic as I can. This adds a little fun while still being work/age appropriate! LOVE it.
I bought this brush also that has the red metal casing at the bottom. I love buki brushes, I have owned several. I use them to apply my Bare Minerals foundation. With this particular brush I started noticing that most of the foundation was staying in the makeup cap, adhered to it like glue! I have used a huge amount of foundation since I started using this brush. I have done nothing else different! Then I started noticing little balls forming in the bristles of this brush that would stick on my skin whan I buffed my foundation on! Then the shedding started, this morning I picked 5 black brush hairs off my face which is very irritating! I have only used this brush for a few weeks so it should not really need cleaning yet, now I am thinking if I clean it, it will fall completely apart? This one is going in the trash. It was not expensive like the BE brushes but too expensive to throw in the trash after using for two weeks.
Loose Powders -Bare Escentuals - Illuminating Mineral Veil

I have been a BE user for years. I have had the regular Mineral Veil and used it just because it was the final step in my make up routine. But I never felt like it was anything very special. So I stopped using Mineral Veil for several years and then on a whim the other day at Ulta, I picked up a jar of THIS STUFF. Let me tell you, it is awesome. Way better than the plain MV, no giant glitter, moisturizer or color here, just pure magic! It makes me glow, not a "just worked out and sweating like a pig" type of glow, but a "healthy from within" glow!! I apply it like regular Mineral Veil, after applying my moisturizer, primer and BE foundation. It also works great as a highlighter on my browbone. Illuminating is right! I use it with the Echo Tools Bamboo Finishing Kabuki brush which deposits just the right amount of product on my face. Great product, might just repurchase so I never have to be without it.
I love classic when it comes to my nails. I save the color for my toes. So I was drawn to this polish because it is muted and natural with a little unexpected pop of fun silvery glitte, that is what I look for to keep from beig bored with classic lol. One coat of PP is sheer and looks like my nails but better. I have seen lots of pictures of it as an awesome top coat over darker colors. It is beautiful that way but not for ME. I wil always have a bottle of this in my collection!
Polishes -L'Oreal - Pro Manicure - I Pink Im In Love 210
4tee1 12/6/2012 9:11:00 AM
L'Oreal kept the same name but changed the color! The original I Pink Im In Love was a lovely sheer pinkish opalescent color with very subtile sparkles. The new color ( in 2012) looks NOTHING like it! BOO HISS....I went to buy another bottle because I used all the original color and I was disappointed, the new color is just a milky pink, nothing special at all. :(
Treatments -Garnier - Sleek and Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment

Smells awesome. I was looking to replace Biosilk because it's gotten outrageous expensive. IMHO this does as well for 1/4 of the price. Soft, silky, manageable hair.
I have been a Nexxus customer since the 1980's. This review is for the new formulation, I don't think it's fair to review something based on what it WAS. I have highlighted/colored shoulder length, wavy hair, live in Oklahoma and I am almost 50. That combination is enough to make me seek out a moisturizing routine for my hair. Especially in the upcoming dry winter months when the heat runs and dries my hair out even more. I hate static! I already use Therappe shampoo (yes, the new formulation) and am very happy with the results but I never felt like my conditioner was as good. So I decided to bite the bullet and purchase Keraphix. It is expensive but I use a quarter sized amount about 4 times a week on the ends of my hair, so the bottle will last me a good long time. This shampoo/conditioner combination makes my easy to wet comb. After blow drying, it is soft, managible and static free.
Styling Products -Garnier - Curl Shaping Spray Gel

I can't believe I haven't ever reviewed this. I use it every day that I wear my hair unstraightened - about 4+ times a week. I spritz a little in after washing, twist it up in a jaw clip and let it air dry for about 15 minutes while I get dressed and put on my makeup. Then I blow dry, scrunching my hair up until it's about 80% dry and spritz about 10 more sprays into my hair. Finish blow drying until my curls stay and spritz with finishing spray. It makes beautiful, natural curls, and as a bonus the next day I can just lightly wet my hair and re dry for the same gorgeous effect. For reference, I have shoulder blade long, layered, color treated hair, that is just slightly wavy without this stuff.
Because I can't buy one of anything, I bought this in the coal commander and the bold brown colors. Both are gorgeous colors with just a little shimmer. This product goes on like butter with virtually no skipping. I wear it along my lower lash line only. No problem with flaking or wearing off at all. Stays put until I want it to come off. Only problem I had was they are kind of tricky to twist up. You have to shove the sleeve upwards towards the pencil and twist at the same time, and beware, don't screw it up too far because you can't twist it back down. I dunno, it just seems backwards to me, but that won't stop me from using/repurchasing it!
I am not a shimmery eye shadow user. I prefer mattes, simply because I feel like I am too old to pull off shimmer. This, however is a different thing entirely. I put this on under my matte shadows and somehow it shines through, in a good way. I can't explain it but I like the idea of being in a candlelit room, this softens the edges around my eyes. I love things that multi task so this was a great find for me, keeps the shadow on, enhances the look of my shadow and can work in a pinch as an eye shadow. It is a complete winner in my book!
Lip Treatments -Bath and Body Works - Mentha Lip Balm Stick

Ha, I am going to add an old lady's opinion to all the 18 to 20-something reviews! I have been looking forever for a replacement to the d/c'd Avon Lip Conditioner. While being a good moisturizer, it added a slightly matte milky pink mlbb color to my lips and tasted like sugar cookies. They replaced it with something "better"....NOT! My 15 year old daughter picked one of these up on a whim one day during a sale at BBW. It is my new favorite lip conditioner. It tastes wonderful, it's not shiny or waxy, and it's very moisturizing! The price is high but comparable to what I was paying for Avon's lip conditioner.
Why didn't I find this sooner? Thank you to the adorable, knowledgeable SA at Walgreens who steered me towards this lil gem :) I have tried all other high end e/s bases and this is a combination of all the best things about all of them at 1/2 the price. I love the pearly color that immediately makes me look "awake" it is therefore one of the first makeup items I put on in the morning!
Ha, I saw this on a girls toes in the bathroom stall next to mine and chased her down! She had it on with natural colored sandals and it was so cute. I am a toe nail polish creeper. I typically don't use frosts on my toes, too hard to disguise ridges and imperfections in the finish. And honestly I had seen this in the Walgreen's Essie display and thought "meh, it looks too frosty to be a cute toe color" Granted you can't slap this on but it goes on very smoothly and the finish is very forgiving - especially after 2 coats. I did learn that a top coat (Sally Hanson) dulls the finish, this is much better without a top coat. I did use a base coat (Sally Hanson). A great feel good color that is different from the oranges and pinks of summer!
I have been using this for a couple weeks for a variety of problems. Mainly I wanted to even out the skin tone on my face, neck and chest. After just one week of using this on my face in conjunction with my moisturizer, I have noticed a huge difference in my skin tone. I went without makeup one whole Saturday and I never do that! Also crows feet are diminished. No clogged pores or breakouts but I don't have very sensitive or acne prone skin. Now I am trying it on my heels, the backs of my hands and my arms, which are freckled from sun damage. LOVE it!
