Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

Is this the "love-or-hate-it" foundation?! It gives the even/full coverage within a second, but the trick is you only apply one small section of the face at a time, and better do it FAST. Most importantly, choose the color that match with your neck color, otherwise it will make you a chalky look. Finally, don't expect the foundation can come off with the ordinary face wash. I am using DHC deep cleansing oil and then Johnson& Johnson's body wash. I do it twice and always using the wash cloth at the same time. It really doesn't take me much time to remove the makeup.

Honest to God, without seeing MUA members' recommnedations here, I would never ever set my eyes on this dirt cheap BUT awesome quality lip gloss!! After tried so many high-end lipgloss( Bobbi Brown, Lancome ,Cargo, Clinique, MAC)and drug-brand Lo'real--I found only Lancome's juicy tube ( blueberry blast)lives up to the standrad--Haven't never thought NYC can performs surpriseingly little trick on my lips too ( I mean, take the price into consideration...) I got " Irresistible 567A( straberry pink) with liquid lip shine 558A (way too forosty/80s, I threw it out rightaway)as bonous package. Now I am considering to dig more Brush-on lip glazes ,Man, I REALLY HAVE TO !!

Loose Powders -New York Color - loose translucent powder
rated 5 of 5

Honest to God--without seeing so many good reviews from MuA members and also from Paula Begoun's cosmetics reviews, I don't think I will EVER set my eyes on this dirt cheap loose powder !! I have used Bobbi Brown, QUO( both are too grainy)Clinique ( fine texture, but can't find exact color match) Lancome ( fine texture but poor oil absorbing ability )Cover girl ( the worst transluscent powder--it looks quite patchy on my face),and I was just about giving up finding the right loose powder before I found this holy grail. The color looks quite natural( not scary white), the granule is fine and it controls oil like nobody's business, plus it is dirt cheap. It is perfect for touch-up during the day--Seriously, what else can you ask from a loose powder?!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Romp Eyeshadow [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
405hung 8/13/2003 8:38:00 AM

I have exactly the same problem of applying Romp as the under MUA memebr just mentioned---the granule can scatter ALL OVER the eyelid and even tample area if you are in a rush. (I applied with BoBBi Brown's eyeshadow brush and haven't had this kind of problem ever) Not only that, it doesn't even agree with the most MAC eyeshadow-friendly " Brule" ( neutral beige )un...I don't know, I guess I just don't have much luck with MAC frost eyeshdaow ( like " crystal"..)I went back to MAC counter and ask exchange for "cork" instead.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Purple Haze Matte Eye Shadow
rated 4 of 5
405hung 8/10/2003 7:21:00 AM

Apply "digit" over the lids and use " ppurple Haze" as crease color. MAC's MA told me in order to let purple haze (matte texture) goes on smootherly, I have to apply more layers of digit in the beginning. It works great now. Highly recommend.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
rated 5 of 5
405hung 8/10/2003 3:43:00 AM

I first bought NC30 and was quite disappointed in the beginning--its color isn't lightening enough to cover the undereye dark circle, and it isn't dark enough to cover the acne scar. I went back to MAC counter ask for different color and also let MA did a makeover for me. W-o-W!! With the blush #242 ( it is not cheap, but in order for the concealer to do its *best* job,I strongly urge prospect buyers do invest money on this vesatile brush--you just gotta to!!) and the correct color NC35, my whole face can turn into acne scar-free in a few mins ( I was on Retin-A and PC's 1% BHA for around 3 monthes, pimples are finally gone now but the scar is pretty everywhere) The studio concealer is slightly dry and the texture is quite light. If you have dry skin, the concealer will be going on more smother if you prime the dry spot with extra moisturizer. **Note: I am using C25 for undereyes circle (C3 complextion) and I found using finger to spray is faster because its dry texture. Only using #242 brush for covering acne scar.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Lotion
rated 4 of 5
405hung 8/9/2003 2:36:00 PM

After many times attempts, I really have to say the Cetaphil lotion is best used as spot treatment for the very dry patch caused by acne medication. It is just too greasy to apply to all over the face, and it takes so long to sink in---no matter how little amount I apply !! Anyway, I have a much better luck with Cetaphil cream( mix with Professional Solution's Hyaluronic Acid) BTW, I am currently on Retin-A ,PC 1% BHA lotionand topical antibiotic Dalacin T. However, Cetaphil lotion is quite moisturizing for dry hand and feet. For some reasons it just doesn't feel greasy at all and soaks in *much faster* than Vaseline.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
rated 5 of 5
405hung 8/5/2003 7:27:00 PM

I am on generic Tretinoin gel 0.05% and PC's 1% BHA for around 3 monthes, and my skin is getting extra sensitive and dry. Cetaphil cream ( in green tube) is the *only* thing can take care of dryness and flakiness without causing breakout ob my face. ( I have tried Complex 15, which is not moisturize enough; Cetaphil lotion is way too greasy, takes long time to sink in; Oil of olay complete 15/fragrance free is also too dry out my skin) I like to mix Professional Solution's 100% Hyaluronic acid (0.4ml is enough)with cetaphil cream in the morning after PC's 1% BHA and before makeup. It doesn't makes my makeup streak, by the way.

I wear the full makeup everyday and all I need to do is to message with DHC deep cleansing oil for 1-2 times, then use Johnson& Johnson's Head to toe baby wash, and if I need to exfoliate my skin, I use Oil of Olay daily facial---and THAT IS THE END OF MY CLEANSING ROUTINE. ( I am so happy to say goodbye to cold cream..)

Loose Powders -Lancome - Photogenic Loose powder [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
405hung 8/3/2003 2:24:00 AM

I was using Clinique blended face powder for several years, and I decided to try other brand of loose powder after I found Transparency 3 has becoming too dark for me. After I saw the positive reviews from MuA members here, I decided to give it a try (I tried pressed powder at first. Unfortunately, it get cakey after 2-3 hours)The photogenic loose powders' granule is *very* fine and it does't streak after 8 hours wearing, even though it does requires more times touch-up than Clinique (apply with portable loose powder brush, instead of the pad that is included in the jar)By the way, I really like the almost-undetecable spark shine, which seems to brighten the cheek the undereyes part.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Lip Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
405hung 7/28/2003 6:17:00 AM

I INSTANTLY fall in love MAC lip conditioner's vanilla scent and moisture it provides--Without MuA members' recommendation I might never be ablel to find this wonderful lip treatment! I like to dab MAC studio finish concealer SPF15 before I put any lipstick to tone down the color ( learn from Kevyn Aucoin's book)/ also to keep lipstick stay longer, and this lip conditioner works perfectly as a base. My lips looks at its best EVER. If I am in a rush I don't even need to apply Lancome jucy tube gloss on!!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
405hung 7/28/2003 4:44:00 AM

No Offense, but this cetaphil cleanser ISN'T REALLY designed for people who are not on any of harsh acne medications like Tretinoin ( Retin-A, Renova), BHA/AHA, Benzoyl Peroxide..etc. Even I when used Differin(chemical form of tretinoin but much less irritating than Tretionin and PC's BHA )I still hate Cetaphil cleanser! I totally understand people who have sensitive/dry( but somehwat healthy)skin find this cleanser horrible, as it always leaves a film after washing. Needless to say those people who have normal/combination skin--they might never be sure whether their face is clean after many time washing. Another thing is IT DOESN'T REALLY REMOVE MAKEUP. The claim on the bottle is very misleading. For people who prefer this type mild, water soluble, but still want a *clean feeling* after washing their face , Spectro Jel/Derm ( only available in Canada's drugstore) could be one their options. It doesn't contains Sodium Lauryl sulface and also anti-biotic. They come in different sizes and are also cheaper than Cetaphil.

Foundations -Shiseido - The Makeup Cream Foundation
rated 5 of 5
405hung 7/27/2003 9:20:00 PM

It is quite creamy when I apply to my face, but once I use finger to spread it around and dust Clinique's blended face powder, the whole makeup will be all set, doesn't traveling around even after 8 hrs wearing. I only have to take care T-zone after 3 hrs and it is not really a problem. It also doesn't give me any breakout. Another thing is I found the color match ( MAC 20) and I am quite happy with 040 natural fair orche.

Other -Unlisted Brand - Baking Soda
rated 1 of 5
405hung 7/27/2003 5:56:00 PM

DEFINITELY NOT for people who are on acne medicstion like Tretinoin ( Retin-A or Renova),BHA, Benzoyl peroxide or antibiotic solution. Howvever, for people who on none of these acne medication, the baking scrub ( mix with cetaphil) might be one of best and milder scrub they can ever ask for.

rated 5 of 5
405hung 7/27/2003 5:30:00 PM

I finally find the shampoo can deep clean my hair without overdrying my hair. I have thin, long, straight and oily hair, which makes me had a difficult time to find the right shampoo, need not to mention the time I spent on wash and rinse everytime I take a shower !! With this Daily Fixx shampoo, I can feel my scalp is clean after the very FIRST wash, and after that I only need KMS silker reconstrucor conditioner. No further hair treatment is required !!
