Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HiP Color Chrome Eyeliner-935 Green Flash
rated 5 of 5

Purchased at 99 cent Only Store - two weeks later went back and bought eight more. It glides on like butta and doesn't budge (like previous reviews have mentioned). Very nice neutral green that you can wear daily (doesn't scream GREEN)- nice change from the usual brown, gray, and black.

Lips -Unlisted Brand - Lizard Lips- Lipbalm
rated 4 of 5
2kids2kats 11/1/2009 12:46:00 AM

Found this at Big Lots for $1.50. I'm always on the look out for good lipbalms for the family (the kids have notoriously bad chapped lips) At first I didn't think much of it until I read the ingredients. Very impressive. Beeswax, Oils (grapeseed, sweet almond, coconut) Lanolin - these are like the first five ingredients. I also like it because it has a nice spf. The consistency reminds me alot like the Chapstick 100% Natural Lip Butter.

Fragrances -Philosophy - unconditional love
rated 2 of 5
2kids2kats 11/1/2009 12:35:00 AM

Love how it smells. Hate how long it lasts on me. Why would I spend money on something that lasts less an hour on me. This reminds me alot of Trish McEvoy's #9 Blackberry Vanilla - more so that FIL. I own the lotion version of this and it lasts much longer on me than the fragrance. I use a nickle size amount on my neck/chest and it lasts for hours. I would definitely buy the lotion again.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lip Vitamins Lip Balm -- Mixed Berries
rated 4 of 5
2kids2kats 11/1/2009 12:21:00 AM

Read about these a few years ago and couldn't find them. But for some reason you can find them now at Big Lots and the 99cent only store (what can I say - I like to stretch my $$$) Fantastic lipbalm. Has awesome ingredients. Stuff you find in higher end brands like Kiehl's Baby Lip Balm. The texture reminds me alot of Kiehl's - VERY soft. Even though I love how it smells (Mix Berries- but to me it smells like berries, peaches, and apricot) I had to knock off an extra point because I do prefer lipbalms fragrance free so my whole family can use them.

Styling Products -Sunsilk - Daring Volume Volumizing Spray
rated 5 of 5
2kids2kats 9/5/2009 5:53:00 PM

I read great things about this cheap volumizer - seached everywhere - gave up - then found it at 99cent Only Store. Tried it. LOOOOOVE it. It works for my thick but flat slippery hair. I don't mix this with any other volumizing product. I just wash my hair and spray. I don't even use conditioner - hair seems to be fuller with it. I've stockpiled and it should last me about 4 years until I find another awesome product that will be discontinued.

Misc Beauty Tools -Sonia Kashuk - Tweezer
rated 5 of 5
2kids2kats 7/22/2009 2:40:00 PM

I've had my SK tweezers a long time (10 years). They were the first set of tweezers I ever purchased. But I didn't really get to appreciate them until I spent $1 on ELF tweezers to realize how wonderful they are (YUCK!). SK tweezers are light, perfectly angled (at least for me) and I've never had a problem with dulling, nicking, or tired fingers with plucking. Totally worth the price and they've lasted me all these years.

Tools -E.L.F. - Tweezers
rated 1 of 5
2kids2kats 7/22/2009 2:30:00 PM

I originally purchased these tweezers because of the high ratings given on this sight and others. Plus it was only $1. But I must say you definitely get what you pay for. I have owned a pair of Sonia Kashuk pair of tweezers(made in Italy) for the last 10 years (paid under $10 at Target) so I'm using this as a comparison. There are 2 reasons why I don't care for these tweezers. First off they are heavy, thick, and cumbersome. I don't do heavy duty tweezing - just to clean up every few days - but these made my fingers tired. You have to put alot of muscle into it. Second, these are sharp - best be careful or you might hurt yourself when you pluck too fast and nick your skin if you hold the tweezers in the wrong angle. My fingers never tire when I use my SK tweezers nor have I nicked my self with them. As I said before you get what you pay for. Spend your hard earned cash on something you look forward to using that will last a long time. I think I'll give the ELF tweezers to my husband so he can use it for his fishing equipment. HTH

Sunscreen -Hawaiian Tropic - Oil Free Sensitive Skin Sunscreen SPF 50 Spray Lotion
rated 5 of 5
2kids2kats 7/21/2009 8:31:00 PM

When it comes to sun protection I'm all about scent and texture and this product exactly what I'm looking for. No scent (I couldn't detect anything unless you put your nose to it) and no sticky, filmy, oily texture that I hate. I love that it's oil-free, alcohol free (nothing worst than inhaling those fumes with or without a fragrance). It spreads like a dream and you won't even know it's there. I have to second what the previous reviewer wrote. I previously used up my Coppertone Oil - Free Quick Cover spf 50 the products are sorta similar except it had a slightly more oily feel to it - I think it's been d/c too. Hope they don't discontinue this product. Try it.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
2kids2kats 4/8/2009 3:03:00 AM

I first discovered this product when I saw Paula Begoun on the Phil Donahue Show promoting her book 'Blue Eyeshadow Should Be Illegal'. That was a while back in the mid to late 80's. That's how long I've been using Cetaphil. As a cleanser it's ok and it really is best used when you do not mix it with water. Truth be told I only use it when I'm not wearing makeup or wearing very little makeup. But what I absolutely love about this product is that I use it with baking soda and use it as an exfoliator for my face. It is absolutely the best - hands down. Never needed to find anything better and I still don't plan too. 3.5 Stars as a cleanser. 5 Stars as an exfoliator with baking soda.

Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA
rated 5 of 5
2kids2kats 4/8/2009 2:49:00 AM

HG status for me. I have using this product for years and it has made a big difference. My skin is so much smoother in texture and less inflamed - can't explain it though I think it may have to do with hormones. What can I say about this product that hasn't been said. It's cheap. You feel and the see the results. I try to use this about 2 to 3 times a week and I don't forget to apply it on neck. Alpha Hydrox souffle is one of my secrets that I don't mind sharing.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cococare Cocoa Butter Lip Balm
rated 1 of 5

I can't get past the smell. You ever notice that when you can't stand how something smells - you can get rid of the odor. I only mustered enough courage to apply this on my hand and it gave me a headache. As far as how well it moisturizes - I might use this on my feet (heels and toes) or just toss it. HTH

Eyeliner -Jordana - Color XTend Eyeliner in Just Pearly
rated 5 of 5
2kids2kats 2/21/2009 8:28:00 PM

This doesn't work too well on me as an eye brightener and it doesn't show up on my lower waterline. But this works perfectly for me as a concealer/brightener (if there is such a thing). I have puffy bags and finally discovered the benefits of highlighting and contouring. After I use my concealer I apply this to the darkest part of the bags under my eyes - like magic they are gone. Unfortunately this product has discontinued. *****EDIT TO ADD 4-17-09****** I found these at my Savemart Grocery Store and at Food Maxx (thanks Mochaholic) for $1.20 each.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lansinoh Lanolin
rated 5 of 5
2kids2kats 2/21/2009 5:38:00 PM

Best stuff hands down for dry, chapped, irritated lips. I've had an on-going battle with my 10 y/o son's chapped lips. His lips have been cherry red and peeling to the point that he has these teeny tiny blisters. I tried everything for them - Vaseline, Aquaphor, Carmex, and every other lipbalm on the the market. I even tried a combination of Aquaphor and HC1% ointment. As a last ditch effort I "googled" to find the best remedy for his problem. When I read about Lansinoh - I had one of those slap my forehead "V-8" moments. This has worked miracles. I think it helps because it's very occlusive - which is great for a 10 y/o mouth breather. No allergic reaction and no complaints about the smell or taste. Just that it's a little sticky. HTH

Makeup Brushes -Philosophy - The Supernatural Brush
rated 5 of 5
2kids2kats 11/25/2008 3:43:00 PM

Yes the brush is small and stiff. But it totally works for me. I've only used it with liquid, cream, and spray foundations. This brush makes application for me so easy. I notice I even use less product than usual and the brush makes it easy to reach places around your nose and eyes. I have some stippling/skunk brushes - when I use those to apply foundation I seem to be swirling the foundation around my face. With the Philosophy brush, all I have to do is lightly dab and brush with small strokes. Voila - all done in half the time. I have even textured skin with small pores. I don't know if that makes a difference on why this brush works so well for me. But I think everybody should try it out. Much better than that overpriced MAC 187.

Lotions/ Creams -Trish McEvoy - #9 Blackberry and Vanilla Musk Lotion
rated 5 of 5
2kids2kats 8/2/2008 6:45:00 PM

This lotion actually LASTS on me. I have the EDP and practically every Trish #9 dupe out there and it's the only one that stays with me for a solid 5 hours - that's saying alot for this product. I only use this lotion sparingly on my neck - I can't imagine how long the fragrance would linger if I used it all over. I know the lotion is expensive but it is cheaper than the EDP and lasts longer on me. Right now I'm layering the lotion with EDP and some dupe oils. I probably won't buy the EDP again but I would definitely layer it with AZW Blackberry Musk oil and Escentsational Dolce oil. BTW - I've tried the AZW lotion and the Dolce lotion - still doesn't last like the original. HTH
