Cleansers -Clarins - Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Plant Extracts [DISCONTINUED]
13a13ydoll 1/5/2009 12:20:00 PM
Awful... First of all... how gentle can it be if you can't use it around your eye area? I'd like a cleanser that can double as an eye-makeup remover. Second of all...this might be just me but it made me break out (how can a cleanser make me break out?!) but I tested it several times and concluded that this product was definitely the culprit in the new mass of whiteheads that emerged on my skin. Thirdly, the cap is really annoying! It takes precious time out of my morning regimen to screw it off and on. fourth of all, it gives me a really unpleasant sqeaky clean feeling on my skin, that makes me feel like I washed my skin with detergent or something. I hate it! There are SOOO many better cleansers out there.

Treatments -Clarins - Younger Longer Balm
13a13ydoll 8/27/2008 2:06:00 PM
This is the best night cream I have ever used. I love waking up in the morning to admire my skin after using this nightly. Its healing properties are amazing as well. The other day, I picked my pimples until my skin broke (I couldn't help myself), and after using Younger Longer, my skin was healed significantly the next day. I am only 19 with a highly acne prone T-zone, but this cream even seems to make my pores and pimples less noticeable the next day. It's very pricey but I think it is worth it. I use it on my neck and eyes as well, so I think it saves me money overall, (no need to buy pricey eye-creams). When using the tapping method, I can feel my skin warming up... It really feels like it works. I recommend you try out a sample of it first.

Moisturizers -La Roche Posay - hydraphase UV SPF 30
13a13ydoll 8/15/2008 1:52:00 PM
This is a great product! The sunscreen is effective (contains Mexoryl Sx and Titanium dioxide for UVA-phobic girls like me) and it is sufficiently hydrating for a daytime moisturizer in the summer. Did not clog my pores at all and absorbs readily.

This is AMAZING. It makes my skin super soft. Nothing works better. I'm on my 4th bar of it.

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]
13a13ydoll 8/1/2008 3:10:00 PM
This is an ABSOLUTE MUST for me. I have straight, asian lashes that are quite unimpressive but after using this amazing product, followed by mac plush lash and divaderme brush-on-lash extensions, I have lashes to DIE FOR :D It keeps my lashes curled ALL DAY...makes them better defined...and even appear thicker and longer. Without this product, my lashes will droop right after the first, lightest coat of mascara. I can't live without this!

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
13a13ydoll 7/22/2008 3:21:00 PM
My nose is a blackhead strawberry! I was so excited to try these strips when they came out.. and at first, they didn't work at all! I was so disappointed, but after experimenting a bit, I now know how to use these things effectively. !st step: Apply a clay mask to loosen your blackheads (I use the Proactive one they give out free when u buy their set but most stuff will work i am sure) 2nd step: Steam your face for like 10min to open your pores... I steam it until my nose is wet from the condensation, this way, my nose won't be too wet for the strip (which will make it less effective). 3rd step: Apply the strip onto your already wet nose, wait until it is super dry and peel slowly! 4t step: apply something to tighten your pores & use toner, anti-acne gel, etc.. This always gives me a gross yet highly satisfying result visible on the strip. Of course, the blackheads will grow back in time... but if you don't use them, your blackheads will enlargen... this keeps your nose cleaner for a brief period of time. I love these strips!

Primer/ Corrector -Mary Kay - Oil Mattifier
13a13ydoll 7/21/2008 6:04:00 PM
I loved my first tube of this stuff...after applying it, it definitely controlled the oil and shine on my nose; however, I later realized that it would make me MUCH more oily after an hour than if I had put on nothing at all. I'm serious about that.

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Persagel 10
13a13ydoll 7/15/2008 3:27:00 PM
10% Benzoyl peroxide is very damaging to your skin. Yes, it is very effective against acne, but you can get similar results with a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel (I use Sectro Acnecare for sensitive skin), which is much less harmful. You do not become resistant to benzoyl peroxide, which is great, I find it the most effective at reducing pimples; however, make sure you wear a sunscreen after you apply this stuff. As for this product, it does its job and destroys acne, but it is not worth the damage it does to your skin. Find a milder solution, and your skin will thank you in the future.

Lip Liners -Mary Kay - dusty pink lipliner
13a13ydoll 7/22/2007 11:03:00 PM
It made my lips look really good. The colour was perfect! I use MAC cremestick liner in Buerre now, but I still remember Dusty pink and how much I loved it.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Plushglass - Bingo
13a13ydoll 7/19/2007 11:56:00 PM
When I bought this plushglass I thought 'For $5 CAD per ml of lipgloss it better be really good'... And it really is! It has a nice fragrance to it, and a tingling sensation when you put it on like the lipglass is sealing itself onto your lips. It's moisturizing, which is a MUST for me. And it isn't sticky! For a non-sticky lipgloss, it stays on quite long. Bingo is a very pretty colour as well. I'm asian, with not so typical colouring, and I wasn't sure if this bright pink would look good on me... But I think this colour would look good on everyone... it goes on sheer. It's makes your lips look like a doll's lips. Very nice, I would repurchase often if it wasn't so pricy.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium
13a13ydoll 7/19/2007 11:45:00 PM
It's a good powder. It controls oil (not miraculously well- but then again I have an extremely shiny T-zone) and doesn't dry out my cheeks (I have pretty extreme combination skin). It doesn't add any texture like it is suppose to, and it makes my skin look slightly more refined. However, before using this I used the drugstore Rimmel Staymatte in Translucent, which I actually liked just as much. I found that it controlled my oil just as well, was 1/6th its price, and refined my skin even more. (Although it was more drying for my cheeks). However, Rimmel's packaging was so poor, I don't think I'll repurchase it. I think I may buy MAC blot powder again, but I'm going to try some other powders first.

Moisturizers -Shiseido - Pureness Mattifying Moisturizer (Oil Free)
13a13ydoll 7/19/2007 11:35:00 PM
I've used two bottles of this ridiculously expensive stuff. It's nice I suppose.. it moisturizes and matifyies like it is suppose to... However, it doesn't do either job as well as it should for its $38 CAD price. It makes my skin look nice and feel good after I apply it and I think it absorbs very well. However, my T-zone starts getting shiny pretty soon and it doesn't moisturize my dry cheeks as well as I'd like it to. When I used the first bottle I thought it was wonderful and so I repurchased it. Maybe my skin is building up tolerance after the first bottle which is why it doesn't work so well. Definately better than similar drugstore matifying moisturizers I've tried. But next time, I think I'll just get a very hydrating, strong moisturizer and some good old fashioned face powder.

Mascara -MAC - Mascara X
13a13ydoll 7/19/2007 11:26:00 PM
This was a decent mascara... I liked the rosewater smell, and the fact that it was so cheap ($15 Canadian for a MAC product). As well, on the MAC website, it says that Mascara X conditions the lashes, which is something I definately look for in a mascara. I have asian eyelashes that are longer than the average asian lashes; however, like most asians, my lashes point downwards and are rather sparse. What I don't like about this mascara is that after curling my lashes and then applying the mascara, my lashes get weighed down, and I have to re-curl my lashes. Another thing is that it is not as thickening as I'd like it to be, but overall its a very nice mascara and I may repurchase.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
13a13ydoll 6/11/2007 4:55:00 PM
I used Proactiv for 5 years. It really worked for me. However, it is very important to moisturize after the 3 steps. If you don't, your skin will get all flakey, and produce even more oil, resulting in more acne... I no longer use proactive. I just use their concept. I use a good quality 3 step system (cleanser, toner & moisturizer) and a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel after the toner. I use (Spectro Acnecare for sensitive skin). It works JUST as well as proactiv, saves me money, and gives me more freedom to try other skincare lines.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
13a13ydoll 6/11/2007 4:33:00 PM
Love this product! Stays on forever. The only problem is that it can be a bit tricky to apply... One mistake and it's a bit difficult to remove. Highly recommended.
