Eyeliner -Essence - Gel Eyeliner

Easily one of the smoothest, darkest, creamiest gel eyeliners I've tried so far. The wear on this is amazing.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush

I am so dissapointed. I really wanted this brush to work, especially given all these glowing reviews. I like the size, since my petite face favors small brushes. The density and application were great at first too. UNTIL it came time to wash it. I use a very diluted amount of Dr.Bronner's soap for all of my brushes and take great care to ensure that the ferrules don't get wet. I lay them flat to dry, never standing. Even with all these precautions, this brush shed NASTY STYLE. It lost so much of its density already :(. I thought I might have just received a dud, but after checking out some more reviews hidden under the raves, it shows that I'm not the only one experiencing shedding problems :(. The ELF $3 Studio Powder Brush is a 5th of the price and A MILLION times better.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner Deepest Black

This is definitely the best d/s eyeliner pencil I've found to date. It's a super dark creamy black, but here's the thing: it's almost too creamy and soft. After lining my eye once, the pencil dulls so much that I have to sharpen it again to finish the other eye. I end up going through a TON of liner this way, making it pretty expensive! I don't even apply that much pressure while lining my eyes :(. I do freeze it a bit in my fridge before sharpening to stiffen the lead a bit before sharpening, but it still is way too soft for my liking. If you hate sharpening eye pencils constantly you're better off with liquid or gel liners.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Brush

Great as a countour/highlight brush. The tapered point is perfect for sweeping bronzer onto the cheekbones. If you're looking for a blush brush, this may disappoint. It's not flufffy at all and makes blush application a little tricky.

Woah. These shadows are waaaay too crumbly. :/ For the price, I would've expected at least a somewhat smooth texture. It also gaveme mega fallout, and rarely do I encounter fallout with any of my other shadows (UD, Mac, WnW). P.S.: Wet N' Wild's Comfort Zone has almost an exact dupe of each color but in a BETTER texture AND for only $5!!!

Leaves my damaged, thick wavy hair feeling fresh and smooth. Exceeded my expectations! I will definitely buy this again, especially if I'm low on funds and can't get my hands on my trusty Biolage.

IMO, this brush works way better as a powder brush than for blush. If you have a small face, this will give you clown cheeks! I ended up purchasing a smaller blush brush but I still use this for setting powder because it's so soft and nicely distributes the powder across my skin.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner
101alexis 11/25/2011 7:04:00 PM
I think this is quickly becoming my HG daily liner. It's EXTREMELY easy to apply. Easier than L'oreal Lineur Intense IMO, and since it's not a felt tip applicator it never dries out/get flakey. Ever since trying this, the Walking on Eggshells trio, and Comfort Zone, it's clear to me that Wet N' Wild is really stepping up their game.

Who knew this $.99 e/s would become a staple in my makeup bag? It's a lovely pinkish gold shimmery shade that makes my dark brown eyes POP. It's somehow so dimensional that I can get away without using a crease or outer corner color without it looking boring. LOVE

Styling Products -TiGi - S-Factor Heat Defender - Flat Iron Shine Spray

Like the better-working older sister of TreSemme Heat Tamer. My hair gets straight, smooth, and silky and feels so healthy when I use this. If you're willing to splurge on heat protector definitely get this.

Really great and versatile conditioner. I can use it alone, mix it with Biolage Conditioning Balm, or use a nickel-size drop as a leave in. CG and low-budget friendly.

Styling Products -Aquage - Beyond Shine
101alexis 6/30/2011 8:57:00 PM
A must-have for anyone with hard to flat iron hair. Often times I'll spray this on my bangs and any frizzy parts on my canopy before flat-ironing, but I don't even need to heat style after using this. It instantly makes my waves so shiny and frizz free. Also, I compared the ingredients and this is almost identical to Tigi Bedhead Headrush Shine Adrenaline shine spray. They also smell exactly the same! Aquage Beyond Shine ingredients: SD Alcohol 40, Isobutane, Cyclomethicone, Propane, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone Copolyol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, Ethyl Ester of Hydrolyzed Silk, Dimethicone, Phytantriol, Hypnea Musciformis Extract, Gellidiela Acerosa Extract, Sargassum Filipendula Extract, Sorbitol, Ascophyllum Nodosium Extract, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Macrocystis Pyifera Extract, Propylene Glycol, Palmaria Palmata Extract, Algae. Tigi Bed Head Headrush ingredients: SD ALCOHOL 40, ISOBUTANE, CYCLOMETHICONE, PROPANE, C12-15 ALKYL BENZOATE, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, DIMETHICONE COPOLYOL, PANTHENYL ETHYL ETHER, ETHYL ESTER OF HYDROLYZED SILK, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, DIMETHICONE, FRAGRANCE, PHYTANTRIOL

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
101alexis 6/30/2011 8:44:00 PM
This is the *best* d/s concealer I've ever tried. First off, I have pretty dark undereye circles. I've tried so many concealers, from Maybelline concealer stick (too yellow and hard to blend), Covergirl Smoothers (waaay too peachy), Maybelline Age Rewind (not enough coverage but decent highlighter), to Benefit Erase Paste (creased crazy-style even after setting with powder). Hard Candy's Glamoflauge definitely has the best coverage I've tried far. After setting with powder it stays put all day and/or night with minimal creasing. I'm glad to know I can get a great-coverage concealer without forking over too much $$$.

Treatments -Joico - K-Pak Color Restorative Styling Oil
101alexis 6/30/2011 8:33:00 PM
This is a really awesome hair oil/serum. I use it after I apply leave in conditioner to my hair and then once again once its dry. It's the only one I can use on both wet and dry hair that won't weigh it down or make my waves limp and stringy. My bleached and thick hair feels healthy and smooth and looks great at the same time. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking or a good serum and I'll surely buy it again once I run out.
