Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - 8-pan Palette "Comfort Zone"
rated 5 of 5

This palette can give some of those high end ones a run for their money. This caught my eye because it was so dirt cheap, $5! The first column of colors are all wearable every day colors and can be darkened by the deeper shades for a night time look. The second column has a wearable green and the last color is even an interesting duo-chrome color that isn’t over the top. I loved this palette so much I even picked up the purple one [separate review on that]. You can often find wet n’ wild products buy 1 get one half off often at local drugstores :> Super buttery, pigmented and so so so so cheap for the amount of product you get it’s hard to pass up. Even if you only invest in high end e/s this is totally worth the money, you’ll be impressed. If you’re new to e/s (or make up in general) and need a super affordable palette to play around with then this is a good place to start. I find myself reaching for this more than my urbandecay naked e/s &that cost me 10x’s as much :x

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 5 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 7:09:00 PM

This is going to be the most boring review because everything that needs to be said about this palette has already been said. All 12 eyeshadows are wearable colors. For the price it’s not too shabby. $50 for 12 high end eyeshadows isn’t bad at all. Each eyeshadow comes up a little over $4 a piece [which is cheaper than an inglot shadow if you want to get technical]. On top of that there’s a mini primer potion and eyeshadow brush included. Primer potion works super well and the eyeshadow brush is just to pack on the product which you can easily do with your fingers anyway. I don’t have the naked 2 palette because I just don’t see the point in investing into TWO neutral eye palettes. If the naked 2 palette was limited edition or something then I may have reconsidered. The naked palettes are worth the money but you don’t need both.

Treatments (Eye) -Origins - Plantscription Anti-aging eye treatment
rated 3 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 7:07:00 PM

To start off this product doesn’t claim to treat bags which kinda sucks but regardless I’m aging! With skin care it’s best to prevent than go through treatment. I’m in my early 20’s and I know wrinkles are on their way because of the whole again process and I wear contacts – the constant tugging and pulling is going to give me some deep lines down the road. My under eye area is actually getting dry too. I noticed this when I saw my concealer look a tad flaky around the eyes. This product is expensive, about $45 but still more affordable than most eye creams out there on the high end market. I’ve tried a cheaper eye moisturizer and that gave me bumps around my upper cheeks [mila I think it’s called] and this origins product hasn’t so it must be doing something right. I’ve only been using this for around 3 months and I still have more than half left in the jar. I use it every morning and night as well. I’ll use it all up since it hasn’t shown any cons and the benefits will be more apparent later on [I hope] :>

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
rated 5 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 7:06:00 PM

Oh sweet jesus, I love this stuff. Dirt cheap and it moisturizes my lips even if they’re peeling and cracking. I don’t even care about it being a pot because this stuff works so well. I’ll jam my finger into the damn pot over and over without a care in the world because this stuff does wonders. Judge me all you want with the whole “unsanitary finger in a jar” deal but at the end of the day I HAVE SOFT PLUSH LIPS :V! I believe they have this in a stick version but I haven’t picked any up yet since I have about 4 pots and they last for a long time. One is on my vanity, one is in my purse and 2 are backups! You can often find these suckers on sale: 2 for $3 at Walgreens or CVS. It has a medication kinda smell to it but I’ve learn to love it. I slather this stuff on my lips before bed every night and wake up with baby soft lips. I even grew fond of the fake cherry scent they have too :> The only thing I’d warn people to steer clear of is the one that comes in a squeeze tube. The formula for that one is disgustingly runny and will end up in your mouth causing you to squirm and deal with an unpleasant sensation on your tongue :<

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Ultra Darling
rated 5 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 6:18:00 PM

I have one of these in the shade fashion city as well. And my opinion for this shade is the same! The formula is creamy, moisturizing and it’s glossy enough giving me lips that perky look without the stickiness of a lipgloss. I do prefer this formula over MACs normal lipsticks. I hope they crank out more colors with this formula because it’s amazzinggg :>! I have naturally pigmented lips (kind of a rosey color) and this color amps it up so nicely!

LOVE! I like lipstick but it sometimes can be a bit drying. I like lip gloss but I don’t look sexy with my hair fly trapped to my lips. The SA at the MAC counter showed me this when I told her of my complaints with lipstick/lipgloss. The formula is creamy, moisturizing and it is glossy enough giving me lips that perky look without the stickiness of a lipgloss. This is a lovely coral color and it looks amazing for summer. It looks so good I’ll wear it in the winter as well. It costs the same as the traditional MAC lipsticks and has the same vanilla cake batter scent too. I do prefer this formula over MACs normal lipsticks. I hope they crank out more colors with this formula because it’s amazzinggg :>!

Lips -Clinique - Chubby Stick - 05 - Chunky Cherry
rated 4 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 5:10:00 PM

When I bought this I was on the hunt for something moisturizing and that could add a hint of color. The awesome thing about this is that the color is buildable. You know that reddish tint you get after eating a red popsicle? That’s what it gives me on the first application and you can intensify the color with more swipes of the lip product. It’s moisturizing but nothing insane like you get from carmex or Vaseline but it’s nice. I’m not interested in picking up any other colors since I already have plenty of pinks and natural lip colored products stashed at home already. At ~$16 I think just owning one in the right color you love is enough with this product.

Lipstick -Victoria's Secret - Be Mine
rated 5 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 5:07:00 PM

Oh wow. I’m never the one to buy bright lipsticks. I play it safe and stick to the soft pinks/nude colors. I originally bought this with the intention to just dab of color onto the middle of my lips AFTER my usual safe pinkish colors to make my lips look a bit perkier. Then one day I just put this color on full blast and it’s one of those colors which is bold but it’s not over the top to where it borderlines unsuitable for daytime wear. This comes off as a bright wearable pink on my lips and it’s refreshing to see that I can pull of bright colors :> it has a very faint scent but I could only smell it if I were to stick this straight up my nose o__o As another bonus, I bought this when I had the secrets reward card so it was basically free lipstick for me. Even at $12 it’s a pretty good buy. The formula is creamy and not drying at all. If I ever run out of this I’ll be sure to repurchase.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Complexion Perfection
rated 3 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 5:02:00 PM

I figured I could use this as a finishing powder…or individually by color. I have reddish scars and general redness from acne so the green color appealed to me. However it’s not enough coverage to neutralize out the colors so that was a bust. However I did find a good use for this as an under eye concealer! It’s the yellow one that I’ve found the most use out of. Well, not as a true under eye concealer but as a supplement :D I double up my foundation as concealer for under my eyes then, using my ring finger, I get a bit of the yellow powder and pat it under my eye as a setting powder for that area. The very faint tint of yellow cancels out the dark colors of my bags nicely. I’m still in my early 20’s so I don’t really have any fine lines for the powder to settle into. For $3 it’s not a flop of a product as long as you can find some sort of use for it like I did :>

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes
rated 5 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 5:00:00 PM

I have terrible skin – acne prone with active breakouts. I use makeup to cover up what I can during the day when I’m out and about. At the end of the day that makeup needs to come off! Cleansers have never done the job so I decided to invest in makeup removing wipes. I actually had a friend remove eyeliner from my lower lash line with these years ago and it BURNED. Fast forward to more recent times I was in Vegas with the same friend and she still uses this stuff to get rid of her makeup. Giving it another go, I used one of from a travel size pack she had and wowwwwwww. Foundation? Off. Eyeshadow? Off, no problems at all Waterproof mascara? BE GONE! Waterproof eyeliner? Wiped off like water from a table…AND IT DIDN’T BURN! Maybe my eye isn’t so sensitive anymore since I wear eyeliner on my waterline all the time so that’s why it doesn’t burn? Who knows, this stuff is amazing and I’m glad the sensitivity of it on my eyes is a mere memory. The scent isn’t overbearing and it does leave an EVER SO SLIGHTLY sticky residue but that’s fine since I always follow-up with my cleanser and facial care routine. If you buy these packs individually it’s around $6 for 25 sheets I believe at target but sweet ‘ol costco sells these bad boys in a nice bulk pack – 4 packs of the 25 sheets plus 3 travel sized ones all for the comfy affordable price of ~$14! What a steal :> as long as I can keep buying these at such a great deal I’m gonna keep using them. If you’re hesitant to buy the 25 sheets pack then pick up the travel sized ones [7 sheets per pack] at your local drugstore for ~$3!

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 5 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 4:59:00 PM

HG ALL THE WAY! I have horrible skin – acne is something that I deal with every day along with the scarring it leaves behind. I don’t even pick at them and they still leave marks! I had a severe case of breakouts on my cheeks which left a ton of scars…which are mostly still there. My first foundation was a powder foundation by benefit [hello flawless] for the longest time but it was no longer cutting it. Also, because I’m getting older, my skin was changing. I use to have all over oily skin but now I have combo skin - oily t-zone with dry cheeks. Powder on dry skin is a no-go and I needed more coverage! I was always very wary with liquid foundation since it can feel heavy and make acne 1000x’s worst. I did my research and picked out an oil-free foundation. I like how spf isn’t included in here since I don’t have to worry about flash photography if I doll my face up for a night out. It gives the coverage I need and it’s buildable as well! It’s best applied by buffing it into the skin with a flat top powder brush [the elf studio $3 one does it perfectly] and setting it with a finishing powder to make it last all day. Did I mention it makes me look flawless in pictures? No one would ever guess that I have persistent and stubborn acne with how I turn out in pictures with this stuff on. It doesn’t break me out either. I think sephora bumped up the price on this guy – it was $40 but now it’s being sold for $42. This is one of the very few high end products I’ll keep buying without ever questioning the price tag but I try to be efficient and stock up on this when there’s a 15%-20% off promo code for sephora. What I do is snag it with my promo code and stick the new bottle in the fridge to extend the shelf-life!

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer - Springsheen
rated 5 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 4:54:00 PM

Love love love this peachy blush! It’s better than Nars’ Orgasm. Some people may argue that there’s a difference between the two but on my complexion it shows up pretty much the same…except MAC blushes aren’t $30 a pop. This was my first blush by MAC ever and I don’t regret it! Very lovely flush of color on my cheeks. One of my staple blushes of all time<3

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 2 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 4:54:00 PM

Oh man I think this blush is…overrated. Before anyone starts throwing stones at me let me explain D:! It does give me a very natural peachy flush and makes me look healthy but with a $30 price tag…it falls flat. My MAC blush in springsheen gives me the exact [if not a bit better] peachy glow than nars for much cheaper! I only caved in and bought Nars’ orgasm because sephora had a promo code for 15% off…still not worth it. I was going to return it but I misplaced my receipt :< I still have my eye on other blushes by Nars [deep throat etc] but this was a flop. I use it occasionally but I don’t reach for it often.

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic eye liner pencil -black
rated 5 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 4:52:00 PM

I use to be a high end snob with my makeup. But I grew up and realized what’s the point of splashing out $20 on the urban decay eyeliner that keeps smearing? I would be wandering around in target and always check out this eyeliner but never mustered up the balls to actually buy it thinking, “It’s just a drugstore liner, if my high end eyeliner smears all over then a drugstore one can’t be any better.” That’s damn awful logic right there guys :x I finally got so fed up with my urbandecay 24/7 eyeliner that I bought the milani one with high hopes and it has been one of the BEST cosmetic purchases EVER. Super pigmented, goes on smoothly, does NOT smudge on my WATERLINE and has amazing staying power. I even did a waterproof swatch test on my hand at home. When I swiped my finger across the urbandecay eyeliner it smeared as expected while the milani one stayed put. Ah jeezzz why didn’t anyone tell me about this product sooner! Could’ve saved so much cash to splash on some more inglot eyeshadows :> I didn’t have any sort of reaction/irritation with this eyeliner like some reviewers did and I’m glad I didn’t! Such an amazing product with a comfy price tag. I’ll be repurchasing this without a doubt.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 2 of 5
mikxoh 7/16/2012 4:50:00 PM

This was my first ever eyeliner and I’ve been through about 4 (and half left of my 5th one). Running for almost $20 a stick it’s not the cheapest thing on the market but I didn’t know any better and I was always too hesitant to try another brand. For the record I only use black eyeliner on my waterline and urban decay has advertised this as waterproof/smudge proof. Pigmentation on this is dark enough for my liking. For the first 2 sticks of this product it was working well but either the formula must’ve changed slightly or SOMETHING because every purchase after that would smudge horribly. So disappointing! $20 for 3 hours of staying power? NO THANKS :< I would’ve stuck with this eyeliner but I’ve found a new one which is 1000x’s better – milani liquefy! It’s a drugstore brand so it’s only about $6-7 at target
