Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 2/12/2007 8:44:00 AM

Wow! I loved this makeup. It is a light coverage easy to blend liquid foundation that matches better than any product I have ever found at a drug store. I use this and have bought three different shades to blend contours and to use as a concealor on some ares. This is my favorite makeup for summer when you want a light coverage that can blend great with a tan. Somethings to consider. This is light coverage so that means if you have serious acne you might not like it. It is blendable but I have light colored skin so this may be why. Although with a tan it blends great too. I believe if your skin is oily this may disappear with the oils on your skin. In a few hours it will look like you have no makeup on. If you want a glowish look this may not be the product. It does not have a matte finish but it is not shiny either. Just a super blendable foundation that goes on light and covers light. I think super dry skin might have issues but if you use mositure under it might be perfect. Again, I love this product for days when my skin is clear and I just need a light coverage. I do use moisturizer under the make up and I used a concealor for those ares that need extra coverage. A perfect summer makeup. The bottle is easy to store in my purse for touch ups after the beach. A good inexpensive product for the rigth skin.

Foundations -L'Oreal - Age Perfect Skin Supporting Hydrating Light Ivory 703
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 2/12/2007 7:43:00 AM

This is a GREAT foundation. But, not for everyone. If you have young skin (under 40)oily, acne prone or acne scars or red undertones this may not be the product for you. You need a product that will cover and decrease oilyness. This is a moisture based makeup that truly helps women over 40 glow. I love it! Age perfect is for dry, older, fine lined skin that needs moisture and lightness. The coverage is blendable, covers perfectly and creates a totally natural look. The tint really makes your skin glow without shiny-ness. The colors tend to be on the pink side. Perfect for older girls whose skin can get sallow with age. The pink brightens the face. I was truly surprised by this product. I kept thinking it was not covering enough and I tried it with a concealer (EL doublewear). The texture of Age perfect is very nice. A whipped cream kind of feel, soft and gentle to the skin. I am going to pick up one shade darker to use as a blush because I think it will stay far longer than the blushes and bronzers I have used in the past. Normally I use a heavy coverage makeup Doublewear by EL and because my skin is getting older this seems to look heavy/ dry on me. My skin used to be oily. My daughter noticed the difference telling me the new makeup I was using looked 90% better. Mind you I have been using Doublewear so long I thought I needed a heavy makeup. Old fashioned I guess. My daughter encouraged me to stay with the Age Perfect because it looked more natural making my skin brighter. I did and I am getting more comfortable with a lighter coverage makeup. It does not last as long as doublewear but for me lasted about 3 hours and with a touch up of powder (Sonia K) looked fine for another 3 hours. If you have very dry skin this might be a great product. However if you have oily skin this will feel greasy and disappear on your face. You will be frustrated that you wasted money on this product. It is drug store cheap but money is money. Save this one for when you get closer to 40 and need the hydration and moisture. For the rest of us who need to look a little younger this is great!

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 2/3/2007 8:28:00 AM

This is a super cheap eyeliner for no other reason than to try a new color. It does not last but it does add a little color if you want to put it on top of your favorite liner. I have used the violet and deep navy to brighten my eyes. Wet and Wild has fun, silly colors that are usually super inexpensive and worth a chance to try it. This is an average, inexpensive eyeliner that I would not recommend for everyday use. I know nothing about how the product is made?, is it tested on animals?, or even what are the ingredients?

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Perfect Point Plus Eyeliners
rated 2 of 5
Boxerface 2/3/2007 8:23:00 AM

I too got a free eyeliner with the purchase of Mascara. I guess that is why I grabbed it while shopping. This is fine for some ladies who perhaps do not need moisturizer under their makeup. This smudges and spreads out after a few hours. Since my skin is very light it gave me that horrific tired worn out look that I try to avoid with eye products. I do not use cover girl make up because I think my skin is too old or maybe they have never really worked with my skin type. My skin is light, sensitive (oily in the summer, dry in the winter) and 40. (I always say close to 40). I also take medications for health reasons that tend to make my skin on the dry side. I use moisturizer under my make up which may have interfered with this eyeliner. I won't buy it again.

Lotions/ Creams -Suave - Skin Therapy Lotion
rated 1 of 5
Boxerface 2/3/2007 8:17:00 AM

I purchased the Suave Advanced Therapy Moisturizer. A pink square in the corner says "Now! Improved Moisturization" It also reads Moisturizing Relief for Severely Dry Skin. A cream colored bottle with purple writing. That is why I bought it. Now before I complain, let me say my daughter and I have very sensitive skin. Our skin has issues with sun screen and plain old lanolin. We tried this just once on only our hands. It burned and stung painfully. It took a few washings to get it off our hands because the product is made to last 24 hours. My daughter is a pre-teen with senstivie skin. I am close to 40 with sensitive skin too. This is probably a great product for someone with normal dry skin, not ladies with sensitive skin. It is my fault, no where on the bottle does it say good for sensitive skin. I should have gone for another Suave product. I can see how women who are exposed to washing their hands constantly (Doctor, Nurse or Teacher) or those who are exposed to chlorine from pools might find this a great lotion. Howeverm for those who have difficulty with dry winters and cracked sensitive skin, this may not be a good product. Let me add that we have always loved Suave products. Inexpensive, practical and usually perfect for what we want. This just did not work out great. If you can sneak a try on before you buy it, I would.

Powder -Sonia Kashuk - dual coverage powder foundation
rated 4 of 5
Boxerface 8/14/2006 7:17:00 PM

This is a great product! A light talc based powder with out harsh chemicals to clog pores or cause break outs. A smooth, creamy feel that is dry but you can use it wet. I normally use Doublewear Estee Lauder in Bone so I tried the lightest shade that SK makes. My only complaint is that there is not a tester available. Maybe our local Target Store is too small. The lightest shade was a little too light but blended great with my skin. This product did not cause me to break out. And, I break out really easy. Just chatting on a phone or around my scalp. So it gets a 4 for not causing me acne. This was not a makeup for someone who wants heavy coverage for bad blemish days or if you are going out at night. It is a nice wear to work powder that goes on easily can be refreshed if you need it. I carry this powder in my car. Pefect for days when all I need is powder and lip gloss. I have not yet tried the liquid make up or the confidential concealer. I will have to find out if they are worth a try. Hope this helps and good luck.

Loose Powders -L'Oreal - Translucide
rated 2 of 5
Boxerface 7/25/2006 10:35:00 PM

I think my mistake was thinking that Translucide would be light but help to give me a dewy glow. I do not like this product. It is so light it does not show and it seems to go on uneven. Again, this could just be my skin. I even bought a big soft brush because I thought this would help put the powder on evenly. Not so. I am going to keep searching for the right powder.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 7/25/2006 10:32:00 PM

I love this lipstick. I use Toasted Almond for my every day color. It goes on sweet and stays put. I need this too make my eyes pop. Brown eyes with the Toasted Almond on my lips means I do not need makeup at all. Just a lipstick when I am in a hurry. It does not last the full 6 hours but this may be because my skin is rather oily and I usally have a cup of coffee handy. However, I have it with me so I just need to update it when it appears to disappear. I like Loreal Color Rich lipstick and hope to splurge for a few more colors like Divine Wine and Ginger spice. I use the traditional lipstick not the long thin handled one. I will never be able to use that without a mirror. Hope this helped.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor
rated 2 of 5
Boxerface 7/25/2006 10:22:00 PM

Not for me. I felt like the color I chose did not match my skin tone and it did not last. The smell was nice but all revlon products smell nice. I won't buy it again. Revlon will come up with a new product to replace Overtime. It is out of time.

Lip Liners -Estee Lauder - Lip Defining Pencil (Any Color)
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 7/25/2006 10:20:00 PM

I love this lip liner!!!!!! It stays in place and feels great going on. I have even used it to color the entire lip with a little lip gloss. I currently have this in three colors. Fig, Rose Coral and Spice. I do not leave home without it, one is always in my purse. I like how gentle the pencil refill is to use. It is easy to sharpen or I should say twist and it rises. I like the feel, color and how it stays when put on. I wish they had a few more shades but overall it is super. The colors I have used all match my skin tone and lip color too. Good luck, I hope you like it too.

Masks -Estee Lauder - So Clean Deep Pore Mask
rated 1 of 5
Boxerface 7/25/2006 10:13:00 PM

The So Clean Deep Pore mask is a thick mint green fudge like consistency that has an interesting smell. It clogged my pores. It takes time to dry but you can use it while taking a tub. I tried using it for months and it made my skin ruddy, raw and caused break outs. When I asked the clerk at the EL counter, she said I needed to keep using it. It would clear up my acne. She said the clay in this product was pulling the impurities out of my skin to the surface. She also recommended more products that seemed to add more stress to my skin. My dermatologist disagreed about using it. Stop! she said. It may be a good product for some people but it did not help my skin. The green mask would tighten but took a scrub brush to be removed. I have oily but sensitive skin. The kind of skin that has breakouts from the oil of my hair, holding a phone to my face or just resting my hand on my chin. Super sensitive! This green sludge was not for me. I have never used a mask since being told to stay away from this. I still have an occasional PMS related break out but nothing like when I used this Green Goo. I hope it helps you, I was unhappy with it. Edit 2/2/07 Ever since I threw this product away my skin is so much better. Minor to no acne and my skin feels healthy. This stuff did not mix with my skin type. I am glad I threw it away.

Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Soft Clean Milky Lotion Moisturizing Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 7/25/2006 10:00:00 PM

If you can afford this buy it. It is an average product. Not great just average. It does not clog pores, nor cause break you outa and your skin feels clean after using it. I personally think this is too expensive for what it does. Not worth the money. Here is why they use Milk in the product. Lactose can help cure or heal minor scartches. If you have acne try putting milk from the refrigerator on your face. Dab it with a cotton ball each night. Leave it on your face as you go to bed. Moisturize your other areas (non-acne) you will notice this is not different than using the expensive Soft Clean Milky Lotion.... No difference and you save yourself some money. And guess what your acne is gone in a few days. Well it will heal better than spending money on this EL product. Oh, clean your face prior to using your own kitchen milk with DOve, or Cetaphil or any gentle skin cleanser.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Dermo Expertise Pure Foaming Cream Cleanser for Dry Skin
rated 2 of 5
Boxerface 7/25/2006 9:50:00 PM

I was disappointed. I used to love Loreal products but this cleanser was not great. The first couple of days I used it seemed nice but after a week it was too creamy. I felt I had to use a cotton ball and alcohol to get it off. I would not buy it again. Maybe my skin is too oily. I hope it works for you.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 7/25/2006 9:41:00 PM

My dermatologist recommended Cetaphil(liquid). It is a very creamy, gentle and soft cleaser soap. There is no scent and it feels like light skin cream when you put it on. I have to gently wash my face two or three times when I use Cetaphil sensitive skin liquid soap. Cataphil is so gentle it feels like it is not working. This is because it does not strip your natural oils. If I do not wear makeup, Cetaphil liquid works fine to clean my skin. However, I like to wear makeup some days and the Cetaphil does not really clean it off. I asked my Dermatologist about this and she said that is because it does not strip the skin of it’s natural oils. It takes a while to get used to but it is better for your skin than any other product. She did recommend that I try using the Cetaphil bar of soap and that has been better for me. I use the gentle skin formula and find it scrubs the makeup off but is still very gentle to my face. After using the bar of soap (rather than the liquid version) I put on the Cetaphil face lotion for sensitive skin after and my skin feels wonderful. I would not recommend Cetaphil if you use heavy foundations or mascara. You may want something a bit stronger but be aware that other products can strip your skin of it’s natural oils. I believe Dermatologists recommend this so often because it does not strip the skin and has such few ingredients it is easier for doctors to figure out which medicines they prescribe are working or not or if they need to switch you. Cetaphil is simple. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Blush -Estee Lauder - Blush All Day in Raspberry
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 9/23/2004 3:23:00 PM

I love EL products. I guess I am like my mother. However, this blush does not last on me. I am not sure why. It claims to be a lasting all day product but it seems to fade off my cheeks. I do have combination skin. I use Doublewear foundation so maybe this has something to do with it. I do like their bronze powder. That works great. But, sorry this does not cut it for me. I am waiting for EL to come out with a better blush. I hope it works for you. No for me.
