Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Concealer
dizzielittlerascal 5/10/2012 3:30:00 PM
I have tried to use this on numerous occasions, but it doesn't work for me. It doesn't even match my skin tone after a couple of hours as I think it oxidises on me? It looks ok at first, then slides like this gloopy mess. Looks terrible under my eyes, and if I apply the setting powder on top, it shows up ALL of my imperfections. It doesn't even work for blemishes (although the SA did say it was too creamy for this anyway) it just slides off. Nice packaging though.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Warm Soul
dizzielittlerascal 5/10/2012 7:49:00 AM
OMG, this is my favourite blusher! I love this so much more than any of the others I own. It has quite large flecks of gold running thought it, but strangely they do not show up on my cheeks (thank goodness). I think if I had seen this in store, I wouldn't have chosen it - but this was bought on a whim from eBay (was going to get Love Joy) but I am soooooo glad I have this! It is quite pigmented, so you have to be light handed, but the colour is so gorgeous! Its like a rusty, reddy brown which is not quite a bronzer, but not quite a blush. I am so in love with it! It gives me a really healthy glow to my face without looking too made up. Skin: NW20-25 Combo dehydrated.

Blush -Unlisted Brand - Daniel Sandler watercolor in cherub

While this is a beautiful blusher, I do actually find this disappears, especially when I have used a setting powder over it. And then, when you have done this, you cannot add more over the top. It will not blend and look terrible. You really have to judge carefully how much you want before setting. I don't think I would buy this again as I can never get the same results every day, and end up putting another blusher over the top (even though I aim to just get a flush of colour in the first place). You also have to shake the bottle for a long time or you will end up with little specks of pigment on your skin, which does blend out but its a pain. I purchased the brush to go with it, and think its a pile of crap. I can never get the colour out of it when washing it, and it misshapes easily too. Having said that, it is a cheap enough brush - just not an essential. You could use your fingers, or use - for example - the Real Techniques Buffing brush. You need a dense brush for this. Skin: NW20-25 Combo dehydrated.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl
dizzielittlerascal 5/10/2012 6:21:00 AM
I am trying to love this eyeshadow, but just cannot get on with it! It makes my fair skin look just washed out. It's way too shimmery and gold for me, but won't send it back to MAC as my feelings may just change when my complexion changes in the summer. I think this may look better on tanned skin :o)

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Brush Collection Core Collection
dizzielittlerascal 5/9/2012 2:11:00 PM
Another set where I had to buy the whole lot so I could get my hand on only two of the brushes. The foundation brush is only made for people with Barbie sized faces I take it - its so small! Better used for concealer, which I don't btw. I love the buffing brush - I actually now use it for bronzer since I got the Face Expert brush. And the contour brush is ruddy brilliant! They are the only two brushes I use from this collection. Again, the stand/case.......no use for. And I wish the handles weren't so chunky - I had to buy another pot to put them in! Still, hats off to Sam Chapman for coming up with these, as its about time brushes were more budget concious!

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Brush Collection - Eyes Starter Set
dizzielittlerascal 5/9/2012 1:54:00 PM
Yes, they are great brushes, and although they are a lot more expensive in the UK (er, why??) they are still very very cheap. But this does not detract from the fact that they are high end brushes! But, there are a couple of brushes I do not like using. One being the brow brush - its far too thick, and its actually not a very good brush, its just not tightly bristled/soft enough for me. I much prefer using my Benefit hard angled brush. (Yes, was going to get the MAC one, but I couldn't resist the Benefit one at 99p on eBay! lol). The pointed eyeliner one is far too wide also, so cannot get a good line for my eyeliner. I use my 212 MAC brush instead. The accent brush is also untouched - have no idea how I am going to use that. Oh, so that's most of the brushes not used lol Still, the others are really great, and I don't actually use them for their purposes - like the deluxe crease brush is FAB for concealer under the eyes! My MAJOR gripe with these are the fact that you have to buy them as a set. I would much rather buy separately and choose what I want to buy. I also feel there is so much packaging going on....even the stand/case is of no use to me. But hey ho - I still love them though!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - # 239 Eye Shader Brush
dizzielittlerascal 5/9/2012 9:31:00 AM
I have a growing collection of MAC brushes now, only because for the first time ever I have decided that the reason my makeup looks so rubbish is because of my brushes. Yes, they are expensive, but it now means that I get brilliant results with cheap (and expensive) makeup, rather than rubbish results with expensive (and cheap) makeup. So, onto the 239, this is my fave brush. I use this in so many ways, mainly for smudging out eyeliner for a smokey effect. I have had no bristle fallout either, even after cleaning numerous times. This is, without doubt, my desert island brush!

Candles -Yankee Candles - Yankee Candles
dizzielittlerascal 5/8/2012 4:50:00 PM
I said I wouldn't buy another Yankee Candle, but I bet I do. You see I have a love/hate relationship with these. I have a couple of times bought the large jar, but have found that I can never burn these to the bottom. No matter how careful I am, the jar ends up black, or the wick disappears! I also find that some of the smells don't travel too well. My fave though is Vanilla Lime, and is the only one I would buy again. Its the only one that makes me buy another even though I say never again. They are so pricey here in the UK! Around £19 for a candle (then there is postage) makes me want to vomit lol (have never told my hubby!). Black Cherry is nice too - I have the car freshener version of this in my car - and this really does last! (months!) Vanilla Cupcake - smells better when burning, as it smells very sickly on first whiff. I have tried a few samplers too, including this most revolting toffee one. Clean sheets (or cotton? I dunno...) was an almost non existent one, as was fluffy towels. But, there is something about the YC I like. I think its because they smell so much better than the candles you can buy in a supermarket - they can smell too strong and synthetic sometimes. They don't last too long either. Having said that YC don't seem to last me too long either - well not for me as they are always on in this house! So I suppose this is why I don't like paying the price.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
dizzielittlerascal 5/8/2012 3:18:00 PM
I am not sure of I like this cleanser - even though I am trying so hard to like it! (purely as it costs so much). I used it many months ago when I first got it, but felt it was a bit drying. Got it back out recently as I am on my first week with my new Clarisonic Mia, but I am still on the fence about it. Not because of its cleansing abilities, as I use Dermalogica PreCleanse to take make up off (which is fab), but because I still find it a bit drying and seems to leave a slight film behind. I am also finding that my face has gone a bit redder in places too, but that could be my face adjusting to the Mia. I have ordered something else to use in its place just to see. So, for now, I am undecided :o/

Blush -NARS - Miss Liberty Highlighting Blush
dizzielittlerascal 5/8/2012 3:11:00 PM
This is my first buy with NARS, and so far I love it! Its gives me just the right amount of shimmer without too much glitter. It seems to well with all of my blushers so far and is lovely for a quick sweep under the brow, down the nose and a dab on the forehead. The worse bit for me was waiting for it to arrive! I ordered direct from Nars, not realising this would be a France to UK delivery! Looking forward to getting DeepThroat next! Skin: NW20-25 Combo dehydrated.

Eyeliner -MAC - Coffee Eyepencil
dizzielittlerascal 5/8/2012 3:04:00 PM
This is the only brown eyeliner I can use without making me look tired. Its a lovely dark brown, with no red undertones. Its makes my blue eyes really stand out! I can't say how long it lasts without a primer, as I always need to use a primer (even with MAC Paint Pot), but with the primer it stays put all day. I only bought this about a month ago, and I can say that for once in my life, I am not wearing a black liner daily........hurrah! Skin: NW20-25

Eye Shadow -MAC - Club Eye Shadow
dizzielittlerascal 5/8/2012 10:25:00 AM
This is my favourite eyeshadow ever! I have never owned a duochrome shadow before as generally I prefer matt, but this is something else! Gives a beautiful sheen and blends beautifully. I can either use it sparingly, and blend well for a more neutral brown colour, or build it up to have a subtle green and brown look. It can be used for day and night, and lasts for hours. Simply gorgeous! Skin: NW20-25

Treatments -Nailtiques - Formula 2 - Nail Protein
dizzielittlerascal 5/8/2012 10:21:00 AM
This varnish has given me the nails I have always wanted! For the first time in my life I have to file my nails down as they get too long! I used to have nails that peels, split and broke all the time - but not any more! I used it according to the instructions for the first couple of weeks (adding daily) and now I can use this either as a great base coat and top coat (excellent top coat it is too!) or on its own. Fab stuff!!!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Embryolisse
dizzielittlerascal 5/5/2012 3:25:00 PM
Yes, I fell for the 'Pixiwoo hype' too, and am very disappointed. I have combo skin and this did nothing for my dry or oily parts of my skin. In fact, it made my skin drier! It is also a poor primer too. Glad I only bought a small tube, but feel this is another product that I have wasted money on.

Lipstick -MAC - Faux (satin)
dizzielittlerascal 5/5/2012 12:39:00 PM
In the tube this looks lovely, but on my lips it looked terrible! It has a weird consistency and looks really flat on my lips. Such a shame. Gave to my sister as it looks beautiful on her, even though we have almost the same skin colour - weird! Skin: NW20-25
