Similar to Fred Segal's Child fragrance, this luxuriously rich lotion starts out like mothballs for about 5 minutes, then turns into a lovely tropical scent -- I'd call it a cross between pikake and bubble gum -- different and fun! Good lasting power. Excellent and friendly service from the simplyscents.com website.
Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - La Chasse aux Papillons

Bright, rather sharp, sunny, creamy floral blend. Great for all seasons, all occasions. Reminds me somewhat of Quelques Fleurs, but QF is more green. Also reminds me somewhat of Beyond Paradise in being a creamy floral, but La Chasse is brighter. I love the L'Artisan bottles, but the La Chasse body cream is my favorite form of the fragrance. A classic in its own time.

This one didn't work for me at all, just "yuck." I like the idea of white florals, but there are very few white floral blends that I actually like -- e.g., Jessica McClintock, Chanel #22, White Shoulders.

I didn't care for this one at all.
Very unusual French rose fragrance, one of Guerlain's best. A must for the rose lover, kind of smokey, reminds me a bit of FM Parfum de Therese though PdT is more peachy than rosy. I'm not a parfum snob, but parfum only in Nahema, as anything else is sorely disappointing.
I didn't like the original Pleasures or its variations, but I like Pleasures Intense - it's an entirely different fragrance! To my nose, Pleasures Intense has a soft carnation note in it, or the smaller flower in the same family called "pinks." Along with carnation there is also mandarin orange over a base of vanilla and fresh cut woods. Feminine, comforting, fragrance stays close to the body and does not overwhelm. The bottle is gorgeous - a brilliant magenta glass base fading to clear on top, burnished silver top, and - surprise! - the inside of the silver cap is *lined in magenta*! Every detail of this product has been thoroughly considered. If you like Floris Malmaison, other carnations, Bellodgia, Parfum Sacre, or Tocade, do give Pleasures Intense a try.
If you wanted to like Marc Jacobs, but found it a bit "much" for you, try TBS Indian Gardenia. It's subtler and in the same general direction as Marc Jacobs, also much less expensive! I normally don't care much for gardenia or tuberose, but I like this one, it seems gentler and creamy, softer.
Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Vanille Abricot

I heard so much about this fragrance, really wanted to like it, and I do like sweet fragrances, but Vanille Abricot smelled like burnt sugar on me.
Avon Refreshing Mint is very similar to Bvlgari Green Tea only much lighter and with a touch of mint. Very pleasing, especially if you want something very light and are easily bowled over by most fragrances. Love the shower gel.
Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Dream Angels Heavenly

VS Heavenly is a light floral, vanilla creme frosting, banana cake, light amber, with a tiny touch of coconut kind of scent. A yummy fragrance that's a real man pleaser, but light and sweet enough to be worn well by a teenager. Beautiful packaging in this line - gold and ivory. VS generally does packaging very well. Other fragrances along a similar line are Prada L'Eau Ambree and D&G The One.
A strong lime-floral fragrance, crossover scent. Starts subtle and gets bigger and greener as it dries down. Very dry feel to Fresh Linden. If you like citrus fragrances, are adventurous and like to be different, give Linden a try. Now listed among the "original" fragrances on fresh.com.
Azuree is still available in spray, though I have it in vintage body creme. It's a fruity-citrus chypre, oak-mossy. Classic and handsome. I've loved this on others and for myself. It's a "you smell so good, what is it" type of fragrance. A tiny amount lasts all day. Similar to Aramis, Sisley eau de Soir, Cabochard.
The original Pleasures fragrance just didn't smell good on me, nor any of its variations, kind of like a dog. Yes, very strange.
This is a review of EL Beautiful parfum, which is surprisingly well blended and well behaved if only one small touch is used. More quickly becomes overwhelming. While Beautiful is a complex floral bouquet, I pick up rose and orange blossom predominantly, vetiver, and something like leather in the basenotes of the drydown that I like a lot. EL could have gone lighter on the vetiver IMO.
Since my first whiff at an evening gallery show opening in the late 1970s, I have loved Private Collection. It's a dressier fragrance, green and powdery. A tiny amount lasts and makes a classy impression.
