Eyeliner -Lancome - Le Crayon Kohl Black Coffee
rated 4 of 5
trisheee 11/7/2010 11:13:00 AM

I love how smoothly this applies...no drag and no skipping...just a nice fluid line. This pencil is my favorite brown liner! I'm amazed how hard it is to find the perfect brown but this is pretty darn close! Just dark enough to have impact but not so dark that it ages more mature eyes. I can easily make the line as thin or thick as l like, depending on the look I'm going for, and it's easy to smudge, too. This is just one of those essential brown pencil liners that I reach for over and over when I want an "easy to apply quickly" brown eyeliner.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - salon so much fawn 230
rated 5 of 5
trisheee 11/4/2010 8:19:00 AM

This color, so much fawn, is the perfect neutral, imo. Not too subtle and not too bright. It's a brownish pinky coral that looks classy and understated. It goes with everything and wears beautifully. Quite possibly my favorite NP color of all time! 2 coats over a base and a top coat and my nails a chip free for at least 5 days. Will def. repurchase and try other colors, too. This particular color outperforms OPI in everyway!

Oh boy! This is THE red! True, there is shimmer but it's not over the top. It adds just enough dimension to create depth and uniqueness. It's so beautiful in the sunlight but absolutely gorgeous for evening, too! A dimly lit restaurant and/or candlelight brings out the very best in this color. Great lasting power, easy to apply, delicious color! HG all the way!!

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Wild Shine in Burgundy Frost (412A)

I don't typically go for dark shades but I adore this color! It's the perfect mix of elegant and classy. Bold, yet understated. Great for the cooler months and Holidays ahead! As the previous poster mentioned, a good base and topcoat greatly improve the staying power. I'm using Nutra-nail Rock Hardener and no chips going on 4 days. I imagine this polish would look amazing on every skin tone...especially PPP's! Can't stop looking at my nails. This is gorgeous! I think I paid .74 cents on sale! Truly a steal for this gem! Edit 11/1/2010: Had to raise this to 5 lippies! Had 3 people in one day compliment and ask me what this color was. This this looks and acts like a high end polish without the HE price! Loving it more everyday!

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "Neutral Khakis"
rated 4 of 5
trisheee 10/18/2010 3:39:00 PM

I LOVE this quad! Every color is just so gorgeous against my light brown eyes...especially the green "khaki" color. As other reviews have noted, these are not super pigmented, like Urban decay, but certainly pigmented enough to create many stunningly beautiful looks. They go on smooth, are easy to blend, and last ALL day long...on me anyway. By using a primer first these colors POP and look great for day or evening. The combinations are endless! For day I like to use the goldish (2nd from the top) on the inner half of my lid, the green (3rd down) on the outer half of the lid, the brown (bottom color) blended in the crease and slightly above, and the lightest color for a highlight just under my brow. For evening: I use the green all over the lid, brown in the crease and outer V, and the top color (lightest) as a highlight and on the tear duct. Then I'll take the brown or green and line under the bottom lashes. Both looks are gorgeous but not overly made up looking.. like I tend to get with highly pigmented e/s's. You can use a light or heavy hand with these depending on the look you're after. I also have the blushed wines pallete and I LOVE that one too! But this neutral khakis is my favorite! Not too shimmery but not too matte either. Just right for maturing eyes...and young ones, too!

Moisturizers -Revlon - Eterna
rated 4 of 5
trisheee 10/8/2010 12:25:00 PM

Finally, a moisturizer that that REALLY moisturizes! After reading all the positive reviews I had to give this one a try. Have been using this for three weeks, day and night, and it's doing a bang up job and making my (dry, parched) skin look and feel like velvet. I tried this when I was in my 20's and swore I'd NEVER go near it again because it made my skin feel and look like an oil slick. But oh how your skin changes as you mature! I LOVE this cream now! I apply after my anti-aging serum and my skin just drinks it up. It is a little heavy at first but within a few minutes my skin is soft, smooth and ready for foundation. This has greatly improved the crepeyness and fine lines under my eyes and I'll continue to use it as long as it's available. I heard it was being discontinued and am praying that's just an ugly rumor! I can see why this has been a favorite for the past 50 years! IT WORKS!!

Concealers -Too Faced - Absolutely Flawless Concealer
rated 5 of 5
trisheee 9/20/2010 11:31:00 PM

My search for a HG concealer is officially over! By the grace of God I stumbled upon this in Ulta. This is a newer concealer from Too Faced and boy did they get it right! The coverage is OTT amazing and it blends like dream. Just a tiny dot is needed to cover the most stubborn dark circles. The Sephora reviews are glowing as well and many have also mentioned this works well for acne redness and basically all imperfections. I can't believe how well this blends out and masks my VERY dark circles like nothing I've ever tried before. I think I must have sampled or purchased every HE and LE concealer out there and nothing has ever come close to this! It's also supposed to be peptide and vitamin rich but I haven't used it long enough to notice any improvement on my lines. This does NOT crease on me or gunk up in my lines. Nor does it fade or smear after a couple hours. It's a rich creamy concealer that really covers the flaws. Most bulletproof concealers are hard to blend and/or way too dry so they highlight every line. But this one is creamy AND opaque. Layering is SO easy with this yet it doesn't look caked on. Best of all, it stays put! I look SO much more rested and I have that young flawless look under my eyes again! Awesome stuff and worth every penny I paid for it! Oh, and there's a generous amout in the tube so I suspect this will last a good long while. Happy days are here again!

Crème -Cover Girl - AquaSmooth SPF15 Make-up
rated 5 of 5
trisheee 9/18/2010 5:52:00 PM

I still LOVE my dream SMOOTH mousse, but the pathetic addiction I have to foundations led me to this little gem while checking out the DS makeup isle. I gotta say this one surprised me. The coverage is shockingly flawless! Being 48 years young I need to be careful as many foundations appear too heavy and highlight every flaw and line. This one kinda glides right over top and doesn't sink into my lines. Granted, they're not too deep...yet, but they're there. If you can find your color match without going too crazy (there's no way tell without opening the pkg) you may be surprised at how beautifully this foundation performs! The trick with this stuff is finding a the perfect match. Too light or dark and it looks awful! Aqua smooth is longlasting, med-heavy coverage, (but doesn't look it once on) and a decent SPF. This actually looks better and better as the day goes on..blending in and becoming one with my skin. I'm loving it for those days when I need more coverage but don't want to look made up. Can't say enough great things about this foundation! I'm NW35ish with pink undertones and the #250 shade is a perfect match. LOVE IT!

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "Blushed Wines"
rated 4 of 5
trisheee 9/7/2010 7:30:00 PM

I've passed this quad by in the drugstore many times thinking I could NEVER wear those shades of wine...that they'd make my light brown eyes look sickly and tired like so many wine-ish colors have. But I saw a you-tube tutorial using this quad and the reviewer looked amazing when she finished! Since we had similar skin tone and eye color I thought I'd give a try. And am I ever glad I did! All of the shades in this qaud are gorgeous and make my brown eyes glow from within. I love that they're not too shimmery but not exactly matte either. I was getting so bored with neutral browns and this pallette is the perfect transition with nothing too over the top. The darkest wine color looks kinda scary in the palette but on my eyes it shows up as a subtle brownish purpley wine color... more on the cool side and perfect for fall! I LOVE it! Pigmentation is just right as I would not want these too too bright. Easy to layer and blend for a bolder look. I think this palette would work very well for more mature eyes..like mine:-) but also for the younger ladies, too. I haven't found any shades quite like these and am thrilled I gave it chance. Don't let the shades in this quad scare you. Try them out and watch your brown or hazel eyes sparkle and pop!

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 5 of 5
trisheee 9/2/2010 9:47:00 PM

I don't know how I ever did without this primer! There's a reason why this is reviewed so many times and so highly. It's awesome! I never really thought I needed a primer and just used a little concealer or foundation on my lids to prep for shadow. HA..how silly! This does so much more than make your shadow stay all day. It evens out my lids like no other, shadow and liner just glides right on, blends beautifully and whatever shade I use the color just pops and is SO vibrant! Best of all I take this up into my (um, sparse) brows and any brow powder and/or pencil becomes bulletproof! I live in a very hot climate where days get up over 100 almost daily and my eye makeup looks like I just put it on no matter how many hours it's been. LOVE IT! I have all the colors but like Eden best. It reminds me of Mac painterly and I LOVE that, too! UDPP is HG!

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Filling + Sealing Wrinkle Treatment
rated 5 of 5
trisheee 8/25/2010 11:00:00 PM

I had found an old tube of a different HE brand line filler in my drawer and had bought it long before I checked the reviews on MUA. I tried it one or twice and it didn't work...at all! I checked for reviews on that product a few weeks ago to see if others had the same experience with that line filler. They did. Bad reviews across the board. In the trash it went. Upon reading reviews for the bad filler someone mentioned they had great success with this Olay brand. I was skeptical, but desperate to find something to help with the lines underneath my eyes as they've gotten much worse over the past year. So to make a long story longer..:-) I gave the OLAY a shot knowing I could return it if it didn't work. I DARE anyone to pry this miracle product from my hands!! OMG, I can not believe how well this stuff works! I applied it in my car in the parking lot right after I bought it and nearly caused an accident because I couldn't stop glancing at my eyes in the rear view mirror! I'm not saying this completely erases the lines but they look at least 70% better and I'll gladly take that! I'm surprised this product isn't more widely talked about. It works like a dream! What a vast improvement on my 48 year old eyes! I've only been using it for a couple weeks so I can't comment on longterm benefits but so far it has NOT caused more dryness or irritation. In fact, I was worried it would sting and make my eyes water as EVERYTHING does! But this feels soothing...like there's nothing there. I see some less than positive reviews and have to wonder if they're aplying it correctly. Though, I also realize that not all products work for everyone. Olay includes instructions on how to use this cream and by following them you just might see some amazing results...If not, just return it. I'm so grateful this filler worked beautifully for me, and have been sharing this little secret with the girlfriends and coworkers that ask me what I've done differently and why my eyes look so good! EDIT 8/30/10: Still loving this! Check out a photo in my profile for one eye with the Olay line filler and the other eye without. Can you tell which one is with? I KNOW, RIGHT?! Some of you may think this is photo shopped but it's NOT! I wouldn't know how to use that program even if I did have it! LOL Hoping you LOVE this product as much as I do and that it works wonders for you! :-)

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 1 of 5
trisheee 8/25/2010 12:19:00 AM

God knows I wanted to love this foundation! But, UGH!!! Wearing this it felt like my face was on fire and itched so badly that I had to wash it off 20 minutes after applying. I had a horrible reaction to this stuff. My NW25 dry skin rejected it in every way possible. I have fairly decent skin with no acne, however, I do have some redness on my checks and some discoloration from aging (48) but can usually cover it up with most foundations. I couldn't get decent coverage with this foundation! The more I tried to layer the worse it looked...and felt. Like a clay mask that just sat on top of my face that looked and felt horrible! Surprising, because I'm not typically sensitive to other foundations. This one just didn't agree with me at all! I'll stick with my dream SMOOTH mousse in the summertime and the new L'oreal Lift with serum in winter, Now those two are the BOMB!! Perfect, with a beautiful long lasting finish that gives me the look and feel I'm after! Colorstay was YUK...IMO.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
rated 5 of 5
trisheee 8/23/2010 1:35:00 PM

Where have you been all my life??? Had I known how this paint pot would transform my lids I would have bought it the day it came out! What's to say? It's perfect in every way! My eyelids need major help and I swear this takes 10 years off the look of my eyes when use it! I look tired and ill without it...LOL! Sad, but true! This just brightens and opens my eyes up! Not to mention how beautifully eyeshadow adheres to it with zero creasing. I sometimes wear this with no eyeshadow (or just a little at the crease for dimention) when I want that no makeup look as it appears utterly gorgeous just on its own! Fresh, natural and perfect! There are items you can't put a price on, and for me, this is one of them! LOVE IT and will NEVER be without it again!

Crème -Maybelline - Dream Smooth Mousse
rated 5 of 5
trisheee 8/7/2010 8:44:00 PM

Oh WOW!! I feel as if I should just delete all my other foundation reviews after using this one! I didn't know what I was missing until I tried this foundation. Every single positive thing the other reviewers have said about this is true! I never thought I'd find sheer coverage that actually covers. My skin has a lot of redness and a dry uneven (blotchy) skin tone that this product covers beautifully. And yet, it doesn't look, or feel, as if there's anything on my face. I really can NOT get over how my skin looks in this foundation! Even in the bright sunlight it appears fresh and dewy 8 hours after I've applied it. I'm NW35ish and the 240 Pure Beige matches perfectly. I've also noticed that it doesn't settle into the fine lines around my eyes. YIPPEE! I tried using both a stippling brush and a sponge but I find the coverage looks best, for me anyway, with a stippling brush (buff and swirl) for a very natural, dewy smooth and seriously flawless finish! It's also easy to layer for extra coverage when I need it without looking cakey. A huge bonus is that it doesn't irritate my eyes as most do and I don't detect any fragrance. On a side note, be sure to get the Dream SMOOTH Mousse, NOT the Dream Matte Mousse. They're very different and I didn't care for the matte mousse at all. The smooth mousse is in a compact about the size of your palm. YAY...My search for the perfect foundation is finally over! I can't imagine ever using anything else after finding this beauty! EDIT9/25/10: I'm still LOVING this foundation! After reading some of the newer reviews I can see that it's best for dry skin and that exfoliation is key. The real trick with this is applying the correct amount. Too much and it's going to look very cakey. This product works extremely well by applying it sheer layers. Just a little bit on your brush or sponge goes a long way at providing a natural luminous look. Apply just a tad more on areas that need more coverage then blend and buff. I admit it's a little different than a lot of other foundations and takes some trial and error with the application. But once you get it down the results are well worth it! IMHO. :-)
