Cleansers -Boscia - Purifying Cleansing Gel

1/1/10 i really like this cleanser because its one of the few that doesnt irritate my eyes or skin and its ph balanced,soap free and w/o sulfates. i love how radiant and bright my skin looks after washing with it. it also works well as an anti-inflammatory. if i have a few pimples, after washing with this they are smaller and less noticable.it is working wonders on my skin. my complexion looks noticably better and healthier. will definitely continue using considering that i went through hell for months trying to find an appropriate cleanser. UPDATE: 3/21/10 this cleanser has reached HG status for me. i have a stash of it because i dont plan on ever using another cleanser. my breakouts have lessened a whole lot since giving up harsh cleansers and bar soaps and using this. my skin is hypersensitive and its a miracle when i find products that dont cause irritation.so glad i found this wonderful cleanser!! UPDATE: 7/2/12 thumbs down to Boscia!! they have revised this cleanser! and they didnt even bother to put something on the box to let customers know that its revised. im so sick of these companies changing products that are fine the way they are! i purchased it from sephora the other day and when i got home and went to use it..i noticed that it was a goldish color and not the normal clear color. also, it smelled different. i looked at the ingredients on the box and compared them to the ingredients on my previous box and sure enough there was a difference. they have added a bunch of extra crap to it..one of which is something that irritates my skin. i called boscia and they confirmed that the original version is now discontinued and told me that there is no where that i can get it from anymore unless i can find a place that has some of the old bottles left. she said that their warehouse now only carries the new version. what a bummer! stupid move for boscia..the original was a best seller at Ulta and Sephora...people loved it the way it was. sigh..my search begins for a new cleanser.

Gels/Soaps -AMBI - Complexion Cleansing Bar

i havent been using this soap very long but so far im loving it! my complexion looks so radiant. its also helping to keep my oily skin more matte. i love the scent of the soap and look forward to washing my face with it!! i have mild/moderate acne so i wouldnt rely on this soap to keep my skin clear. i use a leave on treatment for that. however this soap does just what its suppose to- removes makeup well and gets my skin crystal clean. Update: have discontinued use. i started using another product around the same time so i cant say for sure that this broke me out but i decided to stop using both products.

i liked the way this soap made my oily skin smooth and matte. however it caused breakouts so i had to discontinue use.

i use the 5% w/ no alchohol or seaweed.really like it. no irritation,smooth skin, and its helping to fade my marks. EDIT: had to cut back to using this just once a week. couldnt take the purging!

this soap gave me whiteheads. i suspect its from the petrolatum. i have switched to purpose cleansing bar and so far im liking it better.

this stuff WORKS! ive only been using this for 2 weeks and ive already seen major improvement. this cream works on various scars. im using it on a scar that is raised and one that is indented and they have both improved and are less noticable. will update again in a month. UPDATE: 10/12/09 this cream works well but it kept causing breakouts around the areas which left hyperpigmentation. not sure if i will purchase this again but as of right now im moving on to something else.

i rec'd this product in swap. it didnt agree with my skin. made my face itchy and i woke up with breakouts daily. i have switched to garden of wisdom 10% mandelic acid and its been amazing so far.the ingredient list is much smaller and it doesnt have fragrance and other irritants like the nucelle.i will stay with GOW.

this aha cream didnt impress me much. it made my skin oilier and also made me purge. the jar is tiny for $24.00 plus $6.00 for shipping. i have put it up for swap.

this review is for the new revised version of this cleanser. it does not contain jojoba oil. i really liked this cleanser. it removes make up very well and left my complexion looking smooth and bright. didnt irritate my eyes. however my skin is extremely reactive. im guessing it was the herbal extracts or the fragrance that my skin didnt like. i started getting those tiny pimples all over my face which is a very familiar sign that my skin is reacting to something. so unfortunately i had to stop using this. i have switched to free&clear liquid cleanser. i do recommend this cleanser though and wish i had been able to continuing using it.

i just returned this cleanser to sephora today. i really liked it at first. it made my complexion brighter and more radiant and it also cleared the breakouts i had really quickly. however it didnt prevent me from getting more. and more! i definitely experienced some purging with this cleanser. i got some small whiteheads, along with some rather large pimples and a cyst. it also didnt do a thing to help with oilyness. if anything it made my skin even greasier. i had to blot several times a day. $35.00 for what?????

i asked a friend of mine who is african where i could find some REAL african black soap. he told me to go one of the african shops at the local flea market. i did that and came across several african shops that had big bowls of this soap just sitting out unwrapped, which cant be very sanitary. each time i inquired,i was assured that it was real,natural black soap that came from africa. i ended up buying a bar from a guy who at least taken the time to wrap the bars. i cant really tell you how well it works because i only used it once. first thing i noticed is that my zits had turned to bloody sores and were oozing and looked worse. which tells me that this soap is harsh. a few hours after i washed my face with it, i looked in the mirror and my face was just drenched in oil.i mean you could fry some chicken on my face. it was quite embarrassing. my make up was sliding off and i looked hideous. all throughout the day i had to keep blotting and touching up my makeup. i also tried some other black soaps from whole foods & the local herb shops and those also made me extemely oily.so the soaps went in the trash. one thing i know for sure is that real shea butter is extremely greasy and is equivalent to crisco. so pehaps thats why the soaps were so greasy because a lot of people add shea butter to the soap. at any rate- black soap is definitely not for me. maybe someone with dry skin would benefit better from this soap.

so far so good! ive read that a lot of people do not like the cream, but i actually love it!! i think the cream has helped my skin more than the pills. it is a little drying and sometimes stings my eyes for a few minutes(because it has aloe and aloe has the same effect as onions) but the results are well worth it.i had a horrible experience with neutrogena ots bp cream and had sworn off of over the counter bp creams. however in the past ive had pretty good results with aloe fading my dark spots and making my skin tone more even. so since this cream contains both i thought what the heck. im thrilled with the results. my skin is so smooth and my spots are fading. at nite after washing with joesoef sulfur soap, while my face is still wet i spread a thin layer of the cream all over my face. when i wake up my skin looks so pretty and if i have any zits they are smaller.i have very oily skin and this cream has helped a lot with making my skin more matte. i dont have to blot at all anymore. i use cerave moisturizing lotion every morning prior to makeup and my makeup just glides on smoothly and looks flawless. i use the pills daily also as i have horomonal acne. i highly recommend both the bp/pills. will update again in a few weeks. UPDATE-5/2/09 sadly i had to stop using the cream. my skin reacted to it and i got a huge 3 headed cyst on my r cheek. usually that happens when something in a new product is irritating my skin. however i will continue using the pills as they do seem to be helping with my horomonal jaw line acne. usually any time i eat dairy i end up with several bumps on my jaw line. lately i have had pizza and lasagna and no bumps on my jaw line! so i will definitely continue taking the pills and will leave the five lippies for those. UPDATE-10/08/09 still taking the pills daily/religiously. have never missed a day in 6 months. they work to some extent but im still getting horomonal breakouts around my jaw line. im on the fence about continuing to take them.thinking i may move on to vitex and see if that works better for me. UPDATE- 4/17/11 i have discontinued the pills. they didnt do anything to stop the large horomonal breakouts i get. plus i ran out of them and realized how much better i felt when i wasnt taking them.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Joesoef Anti Acne Soap

i switched from grandpas thylox sulfur soap (3% sulfur) to this one and got much better results with the joesoefs sulfur soap(10% sulfur). it really is very effective. it lessened my breakouts a whole lot.also, this soap has salicylic in it and the grandpas does not. the salicylic gives my skin a nice healthy glow. i highly recommend this soap to clear and prevent acne. also the customer service is excellent!!

i used this mask as a spot treatment. while it did make my zits dry up pretty quickly, it caused them to ALWAYS leave an ugly dark spot behind. will not repurchase.
