Moisturizers -First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Cream

I have acne-prone, sensitive skin and a little dry (but not flaky) due to my retinol prescription. I'm searching for a night moisturizer (without SPF) and gave this a try. I bought the one that comes in the tube, just in case I don't like it...true enough...it didn't work for me. Here's why: The next morning, I woke up with whiteheads on my chin...I figured, my skin is still adjusting to a new product, so I gave it another try...3 days later...every time I wake up there's more clogged pores on my chin and forehead. I hate it so much I returned it. 2 days later of not using it...I'm completely clear again. This is only good for moisturizing but it's pore clogging.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete All Day Moisturizer with sunscreen Sensitive Skin SPF15 (classic gentle formula)
rated 5 of 5
machochick 11/21/2010 3:32:00 PM

I'm not a fan of the NEW FORMULA...it broke me out, it feels greasy and doesn't really moisturize my skin. Feels like it's just sitting on top of my skin. I just don't like it. I've tried many moisturizers for day use (with SPF), dept store & high-end brands, but I went back to Olay's Gentle Formula for Sensitive skin with SPF (THE OLD FORMULA). I'm so glad Olay brought this back. This formula works better for my skin. It also has good ingredients that doesn't break me out. I'm using this for more then 10 years now and highly recommend this.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Ageless Intensives Tone Correcting Moisture SPF 30
rated 1 of 5

This product disappointed me. I only used it for 3 days and returned it. Aside from the weird smell...I feel like it only sits on top of your skin and doesn't really "sink" in. It tends to "ball" up on my face upon application. I also use the Tone Correcting Night Serum and both of them flakes on my skin. So I need to dust it off my face before putting on my make up with or w/o primer. Sometimes, I feel like I dust off too many times that the serum rubs off my face, leaving me with no product on my face at all. I would not recommend this.

Treatments (Eye) -L'Oreal - Lash Boosting Serum
rated 5 of 5

I was skeptical at first but I tried it anyway, and I'm now a fan! It's the best department store / drugstore buy. It really works! The first week of use, I can already see a difference. I also took a picture of before and after for my personal reference in 4 weeks of usage (pic not posted here) and I can see growth on my lashes (in terms of length) and also looks fuller. Also, I have tiny, sparse hairs on my lower lashes and even though I only use this on my top lash line, it made my lower lashes fuller too. The application isn't that hard either. I follow the instructions, I use this day & night or sometimes only during the night and every other day (when lazy)...but the outcome is still the same. I'm using it sporadically for a couple of months now (laziness), but my lashes still looks the same as the week I started this - fuller and healthy. Would definitely continue using this until I ran out and recommend it to anyone!

Bronzers -NYX - Bronzer Powder - Medium #2
rated 5 of 5
machochick 10/1/2010 6:25:00 PM

I saw a lot of good reviews on this product and decided to give it a try. I want to kick myself for not buying this sooner. I've tried a lot of bronzer before, mostly high-end ones, and was never happy with any of them. Either it made my face orange or fake looking, even just for contouring. also none matched my skin tone, even the matte ones. That made me hate any bronzer. However, I came across this bronzer and I am happy with the result. I'm NC25, and this looks subtle and natural on me. I like to use it for contouring - I never tried using bronzer on full face or body bronzing. I use angled cheek / contour brush. The finish IMO, is semi-matte, the shimmers aren't that visible at all. Color doesn't look orange nor muddy. This will be in one of my staples for now on.

Blush -NYX - Red *Updated Color*
rated 5 of 5
machochick 9/28/2010 11:46:00 PM

I think this blush is a good dupe for NARS Exhibit A. I both have NARS Exhibit A and this NYX Red...I swatched them together and both were very similar. I actually like the NYX better! It's creamier and more subtle. For reference, I have NC25 skin. Just be careful when putting this on, this can be super clownish when applied too much. Actually, a tiny bit of this is all you need, for it to work. I use this w/ angled blush brush, swipe once and tap the excess, blend...and there! Nice healthy cheeks! Highly pigmented, nice packaging, and affordable! Original price for NYX blushes is $6, Benefit runs about $20.

Blush -NYX - Peach
rated 5 of 5
machochick 9/28/2010 11:33:00 PM

I think this blush is a good dupe for Benefit's Dandelion. But more pigmented & creamier. I both have Dandelion and NYX Peach...I swatched them together and both were very similar. I actually like the NYX better! The Dandelion, you need to put on several layers for it to show, but the NYX just needs one swipe. Highly pigmented, nice packaging, and affordable! Original price for NYX blushes is $6, Benefit runs about $20.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure in Choco-Latte
rated 5 of 5
machochick 9/26/2010 9:55:00 PM

EASE OF USE: = dries fast. = no need for base or top coat. = 2 coats is all I need and I'm ready to go. = user-friendly brush. It's different than typical brushes of n/p, w/c actually makes me put polishes faster and easier. COLOR: = almost nude, pinkish - brown color, but not completely nude. I actually like this hue than my barely there polishes: OPI Bubble Bath, Essie Naked Truth STRENGTH: = I wash dishes w/ my hands and it's been a week, and so far, no chipping yet. = 2 weeks of wear, only slight chipping on one or two of nails, but not noticeable at all (color helps I guess).

Mascara -L'Oreal - Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black
rated 3 of 5

This will really make your lashes look full and dark. However, you need to be careful putting a lot in one swipe, b/c this tend to be clumpy. The trick is to swipe the excess off, on the opening of the tube before applying. Put a little amount in every coat. It usually takes me 2 coats to do the job. It can also smear if you accidentally rub your eyes. I'm still in the look out for a good natural looking mascara.

Lipstick -MAC - Russian Red
rated 4 of 5
machochick 9/6/2010 12:41:00 AM

I normally don't wear bright lipsticks and trying MAC's Russian Red lipstick changed my whole world. I even surprised myself how I loved it! I tried and bought it today. For this single day, I already got lots of compliment that was never given to me before! Even my husband told me that there's something different about me and I look gorgeous...and of course, he didn't know it's just my lipstick that I changed - you know men & make up. So anyway, some say this color is only for cool skin tones, but I'm on the warm side, I also saw some ladies with warm tones too who were wearing this and it looks pretty. I say, that this will work on any skin tone. Just don't overdo your eye and cheek make up when wearing this or any red bright or vampy lipstick. PROS: + a red lipstick that suits any skin tone + matte finish (optional if you want gloss on top or not) CONS: + since it's matte, so it might be a bit drying so be sure to condition your lips (lip balms) + a need to re-apply it (after eating and I lick my lips a lot so that's probably it) Still looking for long lasting red lipstick that won't come off if you kiss, eat and transfer to clothes. But for now, I'm happy with this and recommend it to anyone!

Treatments -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Clear Skin Cream
rated 5 of 5
machochick 8/30/2010 8:50:00 PM

It worked both on my adult acne & wrinkles. I'm suffering from horrible adult acne for 3 yrs now and I'm under a dermatologist care. I'm recently using sulfur & clindamycin prescriptions for a month now. My acne aren't that horrible anymore, but still wasn't happy (still have breakouts around my chin area and a few on my forehead). I started using this Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti- Blemish once a night, together with the Anti-Wrinkle SPF 15 during the day and my skin looked better. Even my dermatologist was happy about the results! He told me my skin is so beautiful, looks healthy and recovering fast than expected. By the way, he didn't know I'm using this together with the prescriptions :) I have slight wrinkle formations around my forehead and it has definitely almost gone now. And I've been only using this product for only a week! I highly recommend this product.
