Treatments -L'Occitane - Aromachologie Repairing Mask

This is short but sweet. My hair is hard to describe. I think I really am a 2b (wavy, but not curly) with a tendency to frizz out bad. I bought the full size jar, have used it twice now (spaced a few days apart) and already love it. I do not see build up or dullness being an issue due to the ingredients, but I will update should it become a problem.

Blush -Chanel - Joues Contraste in Espiegle

YIkes, $43!! I had a hard time getting by the price tag, but after I did I was happy to have picked this up. I got the last one and the MA really had to search for it so it was that much sweeter when she found it. I can't add anything others haven't said. It is a true peach - think MAC Ripe Peach with shimmer. MAC RP was nothing special for me and I ended up swapping it away. But THIS - oh this is so special. It is highly pigmented, buttery soft and just a hint of shimmer for the perfect spring/summer look. I happen to loved rose-scented anything so the fragrance is another plus for me. Those that are sensitive to fragrance may be a little put off, not sure. I would recommend it for sure!!! It is LE so I don't know if I will get the chance to buy it again, but I will try. EDIT 5/17/11: This is NOT LE like I was told by my SA at the Dillard's counter...grrrrr...anyway I just spotted it on Chanel's website and I see others have already mentioned it is perm. Nice!

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer- Nebula
rated 5 of 5
live4rn 2/12/2011 2:10:00 PM

Shocked that this only has a 3.3 overall! This is my Chanel Glossimer and it really stood out over all of their other colors to me. It is an iridescent pink, but as the other reviewers stated it is not OOT or anything I couldn't wear to an office. I love this and if I can't find anything of similar quality I will definitely buying it again. It is that impactful on my face.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Earth Angel Duo
rated 5 of 5

*It is SUCH A SHAME to see so many negative reviews on this. IMO, this is one of NARS best duos!!! Here is what I have found though - it is ALL about the primer with these. *I tried UDPP Original, UDPP Eden and UDPP Sin and wasn't loving it. Yes, even Sin didn't work with these! For some reason, I wasn't pulling out the the "true" essence of what made me fall in love with the colors in the pan. However, I then tried them with NYX Pearl eyeshadow base and they are just heavenly. Seriously, wow. The thing is, they have a very subtle sheen/glow to them that must be paired with the proper base or they look muddy/dirty. *All of the UDPP primers left the finish very flat and that will not work with these. It is the sheen that makes them so spectacular. Without it, they look like any other run-of-the-mill taupes and greens. So my recommendation is go to Sephora and swatch them over a shimmery base. I know that BE has some new ones that I haven't tried. I definitely recommend this duo, for ANY eye color and ANY skintone and it would be a shame for so many people to miss out on it. I will be buying it again when I run out because they are my absolute favorite neutrals in my whole collection (and I have a HUGE collection).

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Lip Polish Smoothing Lacquer 003
rated 5 of 5
live4rn 2/8/2011 11:51:00 PM

Love it. I bought this to wear over Chanel's Rouge Coco in Peregrina, but it also looks great by itself. Like the other reviewer said, it imparts just enough color to give the lips a nice glow. I prefer doefoot applicators over brushes so that was another plus. AND...it is super velvety smooth and light on my lips. It reminds me a little of Chanel Glossimers, but this seems even softer.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Everpure smooth conditioner

This is an excellent drugstore product. I'm always surprised by how sensitive some people's skin/scalps are (see below), but if you are sensitive maybe you should think twice about any product out there. My HG shampoo/cond combo is Alterna Caviar Moisturizing but I am in school and not working so I cannot afford that right now. This is a great 2nd place for me - and at only $6 you can't go wrong. I have been using some version of the EverSleek, EverPure or EverStrong for the past year and it never builds up on my hair (which tends to be dry since it is highlighted) and never leaves it stripped. If you are concerned, buy it and try it from a retailer that accepts used returns. Wal-Mart, Walgreens and Target come to mind...

Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25
rated 5 of 5
live4rn 2/4/2011 12:49:00 PM

OK, so this is probably THE best protective (SPF 25!!!), good tasting, nice smelling lip balm on the market and it's in a MEN's line! What's up with that? How long have us ladies been waiting for something like this?? Anyway, this is another MUA suggestion that really made my day. I bought the last one they had at Ulta last night and now I want to get the Lemon one too. I paid $7.50 and I love it. It makes my lips so soft and in the winter, when lips can be dry and raw it really soothes. AND it comes in a squeeze tube so it's hygienic too! I will buy this again and again.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Soft Blend Khol Eyeliner - Havana
rated 5 of 5
live4rn 2/3/2011 10:08:00 PM

Very pleased with this purchase. It is a VERY dark brown with no shimmer or sparkle whatsoever. Great alternative to black, as others have mentioned. I have Lagoon, Spiced, Leaf and now Havana. I recommend all of them and if I ever come across more I will be buying! Right now Ulta has Prestige liners BOGO 1/2.

Love this color. I've been on a green liner "binge" recently so I had to pick this up with Ulta's BOGO 1/2.

Blush -Cover Girl - Classic Color in Natural Glow
rated 5 of 5
live4rn 2/3/2011 4:14:00 PM

This is my HG everyday color. It does exactly what the title implies - gives a "natural glow." It is pigmented enough to show, but doesn't have glitter or sparkles in it. It can work for a very youthful look or a sophisticated look, depending on how you use it. It also seems to be pretty neutral - maybe leaning *slightly* warm - so it should be universally flattering. I have owned almost every NARS color at some point and I could never find a nice, natural one that I loved like this one. I tried Madly, Sertao, Nico and countless others. Nico is close but why pay $26 when you can get CG Natural Glow for $5????

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sweet & Punchy
rated 5 of 5
live4rn 2/3/2011 3:58:00 PM

I'm snowed in so I'm going through and reviewing so many products I have neglected to do. lol This is a top 3 pick for me in shadows. I've never seen a color like it and the texture is amazing. MAC really got it right with this one. Incidentally, I just reviewed Idol Eyes, which I am wearing with Sweet & Punchy today. I highly recommend both for the uniqueness factor alone. And yes, it is February and I am snowed in but I don't care - this combo is a pick me up! :) If you can find this on eBay or swap for it, I say go for it. I bought this at the retail price but would pay $30+ for it if I had to.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Idol Eyes

This color is amazing (almost duochrome-ish, but not quite, hard to explain?). As others have stated, it is very sheer, but only if you try using a brush or other traditional tool. This shadow is somewhat chunky in texture so it must be used with fingers. And yes, you will have fall out so I recommend either putting a thin tissue under your bottom lashes before applying or save your undereye concealer until after you apply it. For those of you that are grossed out by putting fingers in your products, this shadow probably won't work for you. Also, those of you that prefer a quick out-the-door look, this isn't it. However, if you have time to work with it, this color is so unique and interesting and can be paired with just about any other color. I use it wet (with Fix+) and dry. And either way, I apply with my index finger. So I will never be giving up this one because it is just too different from any other color I've seen. If MAC keeps it permanent, I will buy it again and again because it is that special in my collection.
