Hmm, this is an average mascara. The formula is going to look different depending on people's lashes. This did give me some volume, enough where I'm happy with the result to use it as a daytime, work mascara. I prefer Lancome's mascaras which I've been using since high school. The formula doesn't run or get smudgey. This looks really good on my lower lashes, but on the top lashes, it's just okay. The formula dries fast so work quickly. This didn't look good with two or more coats on my lashes. When I overapplied the product, it started getting ever so slightly clumpy and my lashes got hard and crunchy. Which distinguishes it from HE brands. No matter how much Lancome mascara I apply, it never makes my lashes hard and crunchy. The price is reasonable, the bottle is tacky looking and overall this is a great mascara to use if you want to save your better mascaras for more important events.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational - Pink Please ] ] [DISCONTINUED]

So this is a fairly unremarkable pink lipstick. It's ok at hydrating the lips but gets dry after a hour. The color, which I expected to be on the pale pink side, is actually more of a medium pink with no shimmer. It looks decent on tan skin, and then looks darker pink on pale skin. It looks like a safe pink lipstick on. Nothing special about it, although you can layer glosses or other lipsticks with it to vary the color. Cute packaging though and reasonably priced for a DS brand.

Powder -Amore Pacific - IOPE True Skin Natural Twincake

This has been my HG powder foundation for over ten years. The color range is small, but it applies beautifully and makes my combo skin look good. I have every color of this for different seasons and it's never let me down. During the summer months, this will keep my face from getting oily and never separates like some liquid foundations do. Coverage can be built up from light to heavy and this stuff really covers all imperfections to the point where you don't need concealer. It makes skin look good with a matte finish. I would compare it to NARS Sheer Glow and even promise that it's the powder foundation version of it....and has even better coverage. Never settles into pores or wrinkles. People say I have great skin when I have this on. I have horrible skin. It's just this product that fakes perfect skin for me. Couldn't live without it.

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Un-petroleum Multi-Purpose Jelly

This is like Vaseline but made with natural ingredients. Lots of oils in it (another reviewer lists the ingredients below) and I agree, it is a thinner consistency than Vaseline. The same results though, so if you use petroleum products for different uses, this is the natural alternative. Definitely helps with chapped lips, dry hands or extremities. The only store I could find this at was the nearest Whole Foods. Price was reasonable: around the $6 range and I'd definitely purchase again, more for the fall and winter months and for use at the office.

Lotions/ Creams -Amore Pacific - Iope Super Vital Extra Moist Cream

Amore has great products and many of their skincare products that I've used in the past were great, but this cream is awful. The packaging is good, but after I applied this the first night, my entire face broke out in eczema and pimples. I never break out so I knew it was from this product. There is a pungent scent to this cream which is really overpowering and the fact that I now have eczema and zits on my face and have to wait for it to heal is horrible. The ingredients in this cream are nano lipid carriers and plant extracts. Since this broke me out, I decided to just use it to moisturize my hands and feet, and after application, my hands have broken out in an eczema rash. At $150 a tub, this didn't work for me. I must have some sort of allergic reaction to the ingredients.

Lipstick -Revlon - Revlon Colorburst in Peach

Revlon makes great lipsticks....dare I say better than MAC's. This is a beautiful peach color with a pink undertone and glides on creamy soft. Super hydrating. When layered over a nude lipstick, it goes pale peach on my pigmented lips. So, the color is buildable from light to dark. Great packaging, great price and is now one of my top 5 fav lipsticks. Mixing this with any gloss or other lipstick just enhances the beautiful color. Looks lovely with peach/coral blushes as well.

Makeup Brushes -Japonesque - Travel Angled Eyeliner

This is a great eyeliner brush for cake/cream eyeliners. The angled shape is much better at drawing a line, as well as winging and undereye liner application than a regular pointy tip liner brush. But, what's hard to find is the right density + softness with this shape. MAC's two brushes are much too rigid when pressed against the eye, which is why I didn't purchase either of them. This brush has the perfect softness to not press on the eye too much (nobody wants help developing wrinkles, right?) and draws a beautiful line: either thin or thick. This brush in particular has a short handle which makes it great for both travel as well as application. Longer brushes will hit the mirror when used. The packaging is basic but nice, quality bristles and much attention to detail with this brand. I'm glad I was able to find this at the nearby Ulta.

Eyes -Shu Uemura - False Lashes- Smoky Layers

These are one of my 3 favorite lashes. It's an interesting blend of two layers of lashes, which you'll notice while looking at them in person. On the eye, they are simply gorgeous. I haven't found another brand that has anything close to this style lash. This is natural looking but dramatic. Perfect for night looks. Shu Uemura truly does have the best lashes quality wise and look wise out there. I have tried and rotate in numerous other brands: Red Cherry, Ardell, The Face Shop, but my Shu Uemura ones I save for extra special times. These lashes last a long time. I've been reusing and wearing mine for almost 6 months now. If they're cleaned properly, they'll last a long time, whereas other brands you have to throw out after a few uses. These lashes are thicker and feel a bit heavier on the lid. But, they look much better than other brands.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 109 Small Contour Brush

The MAC 109 brush is the best brush to get that airbrushed foundation look. This is the brush that countless brands and stores have tried to replicate and dupe. I solely use it for liquid foundation (the MAC makeup artist demonstrated the application with this one and also the foundation brush, which she didn't recommend), although it's not originally meant for it, and it works wonders on the face. Quality is top notch and it's versatile so can be used for just about anything. Mine did start bleeding blue ink at the 2 month mark. Had absolutely no problems with it, wash it daily and dry it upside down with a brush guard, but it just started gushing...I kid you not...blue ink. Exchanged it at Bloomingdale's and they were quite helpful. This is a staple brush in my makeup kit.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

I love this foundation!!! Initially I picked it up as a sample, tried it for a week, left it and then went back to using it. It has the most beautiful dewy finish. It will make your face look amazing in daylight and at night. This product made me switch from powder foundation to liquid, which I haven't used in 15 years. That's how much I love this stuff. The results are going to vary for everyone, but a wide range of colors (NC30-NC40) seem to work quite well on me, applying with a 109 or 187 brush, and without primer since I have combo skin. The tube it comes in is great and once you get over the gel consistency (use it sparingly), it can be built up from a light to heavy coverage. It gives such a beautiful airbrushed finish, and I don't need to use concealer with this. Of all of MAC's foundations (tried all of them), this one is the BEST!!! Select comes in a good second, Face & Body was weird, and Mineralize was blah. BUT this is HG. Better than NARS, Revlon and L'Oreal.

I've been using this compact for years and have repurchased after finishing them. The colors are gorgeous on as eyeshadow (they do stay on all day/night), on brows and as eyeliner. Colors are very natural looking: eyeshadow: 9/10 brows: 10/10 eyeliner for the lower line: 9/10 This is my HG product, and I've added to the collection based on this product. Great, compact packaging, and the included brow brush is good for use on the brows.

I don't remember my makeup life before this brush. I do know that this brush is amazingly versatile: foundation, blush, bronzer, creams...you name it, this brush can get it done. This is a makeup bag staple. This skunk brush is fabulous!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 134 Large Powder Brush

I've been using this brush for a couple of months now and I love it. The size of the brush head is huge but it does a wonderful job with loose and pressed powders and, to my surprise, bronzer! It applies less and brushes on products differently from my 182 kabuki and 187 stippling brush. The goat hair is super soft and I can see this brush lasting me a long time, like my MAC brush from when I was in high school. The only thing I don't like is the price. Super expensive, but well worth it. The paddle shape and size will give you a completely different finish with your products.

Perfect bubblegum pink color with minute shimmer. Saw this on the SA for Chanel in BH and had to track it down online since it's sold out in stores. I went to every location that sold Chanel in Beverly Hills. This is a gorgeous pastel pink color for the Summer. The price is a bit steep, but as anyone who has used Chanel nail polishes knows, their formula doesn't chip and lasts for weeks. It'll last until your next mani. Beautiful color that shows opaque at 2 coats. Love the color! It's a man attracter and very girly. <3 <3 <3
