Lipstick -NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Belle De Jour

I was torn between buying Belle De Jour lip pencil and the lipstick. But I have enough nude lipsticks so I went with the pencil if though it is not as highly rated on MUA. Glad I did, its a great base color for all of my lipsticks. I don't use it by itself but it allows better staying power for lipsticks/glosses and creates a nude base without overdrying my lips. I have never had a problem with it caking on my lips even when my lips are cracked and chapped. The only fault I find with lip pencils is losing the product when it needs sharpening. I do not consider this a must-have product but it certainly enhances my make-up/lip routine.
I have never been disappointed by NARS to date but maybe its because I am very selective in the items I purchase. This is one of the best, a bronzing powder that is not overpowering and universally flattering. I can achieve a healthy glow without looking orange, which is hard to do with my skin tone. Until I bought this it was hard to find a bronzer I liked but I LOVE this one. HG material.
Highlighters -NARS - Highlighting Blush Powder in Albatross

Ohhh this is my favorite highlighter. Absolutely beautiful when applied on your cheek bones (I use it over Orgasm blush) and it makes your skin GLOW. I have dry/combo skin and I didn't think I could ever achieve such a soft, dewy look to my make-up. The color put me off initially, I was convinced that the white shimmer would make my pale skin ghost white but it didn't, it is very subtle. Had to take a lippie off for the price but the product is quality and is one of the beauty MUST for my make-up arsenal.
Very pretty color. The staying power is great and doesn't crease like most of my eye shadows. My favorite use for it is as a highlighter as opposed to just applying it all over my lids. It does fine for that purpose but I would really like to find another color that goes well with it. Any suggestions?
I have had this product awhile in Tiger Eye. I keep buying other eye shadows but I always come back to this one. I use it during the day when I want a subtle, eye enhancing look. It looks pretty but I have to use a lot of it to get the look I want. Its kind of my staple when I just want neutral eyes but I think there is better eye shadows out there, I just haven't found them yet.
I have had my eye on this product for awhile but every time I was in the store I talk myself out of it. But I continued to hunt down reviews on it and finally took the plunge a couple of weeks ago. Sooo glad I did. Its absolutely BEAUTIFUL. It takes my already pretty lipsticks and takes it up a notch. I love how it enhances the color but tones it down at the same time. The color is still beautiful but not too much. By itself it is a YLBB but over my Belle de Jour lip pencil & Politely Pink lipstick it is a-mazing. If I could only commit to one lip item the rest of my life, I feel pretty confident this would be it. The formula is a bit tacky but I wouldn't call it sticky. The only downside is packaging. I would have much rather preferred a tube as opposed to a jar. But I will continue to buy.
HG! I am not a lip liner kind of girl but this one has made me change my ways. Beautiful with nude lips or soft pinks, great with lip gloss. The PERFECT nude liner.
The name cracks me up. Its "politely pink" like it does want to offend anyone by being too pink, so it is subtle and very "polite". Anyways, it is a sheer pretty color but I would agree with whoever says it has a lilac color instead of being a true pink. But its lustrous without being frosty and is a great YLBB look for daytime. I am a nude lip addict but this is a great alternative. I am convinced, though it does fade a bit quickly, that when it fades it leaves my lips a more nude-pink instead of a red. So even if the sheen fades my lips remain pretty and the red pigmentation is minimal. I love this with my subculture lip pencil and a dab of chelsea girls on top. So pretty.
Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Colour Rush Quad in Smoky Purple

One of the few Rimmel Eyeshadow Quads that did not disappoint. I love purple eyeshadow with my dark eyes but I couldn't bring myself to wear it during the day, I am not a heavy make-up during the day girl. This quad was perfect for me. It IS very subtle but that is the reason I love it. My eyes pop and the darker colors create awesome definition in my crease without looking overdone. The rating would be higher in my book but I don't think this shadow is for everyone and it doesn't have great staying power.

I found this product to be quite blendable. I got this product because I wanted to find a more dramatic night time look. The colors by themselves are beautiful and I loved the way they looked when I first put them on. I walked into my friend's apartment and she actually gasped and told me my eyes looked amazing. However, upon checking my make-up in the bathroom a few hours later, I found that the color had all but faded and left me looking like a fantastic mess. Too bad because I really loved the colors.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Face Lotion with SPF 15
charms09 3/4/2009 2:03:00 PM
I stopped using this as my daily moisturizer because I found something I liked better. I do use this, though, when I want to create a sheer look using my Studio Sculpt Foundation. I mix both parts equally and apply with a foundation brush. The moisturizer is light weight and is not greasy (but I do have dry skin). It settles really well and I feel like I don't have any make-up on my face.
I use this once a week as a treat to myself. There are better masks out there for deep cleaning and unclogging pores but the heating aspect of this mask bumps up its rating for me. Put it on in the shower after steaming your face and let it sit for a meant. Its my zen moment of the day. It is refreshing and feels wonderful. The next day my face is smooth and baby soft. I get the same results using the honey/aspirin mask so If you are looking for a cheaper, effective mask you can go that way.
Finally a product that warrants a 5 lippie situation! I thought maybe I was just being grumpy with some of my less than stellar reviews of most products lately but I have finally found something that is worth raving about. And, yes, its honey! So I love the idea of it for so many reasons. It's cheap, it's easily accessible, it's has multiple functions, it lacks a lot of chemicals that can mess with your skins natural pH balance. Is the reality just as exciting?? YES. Honey, as you have probably read, has natural anti-bacterial properties. I have used this stuff by itself as a mask, with crushed aspirin, with organic whole fat yogurt, and as a spot treatment. By far I have loved it the best with the aspirin mask (both masks are great by themselves but together? Sham-ZAM). I only use it once a week as a facial mask but I add a drop of it to my Cetaphil cleanser in the morning to give it a little more oomph. It doesn't really deep-clean my pores, it just draws out impurities and makes them easily accessible during a gentle exfoliating process (that is another reason aspirin and honey are a good combo-aspirin=exfoliation). My skin looks smoother, softer, and more hydrated. It has also been helping with residual acne scarring from previous hormonal breakouts. Best of all if you hate it you can always keep it your food cabinet for your tea :)
Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pur Shine Natural Pink 24

I am digging this lip color. Like the name implies, its a very natural and sheer pink tinted color with just hint of brown that looks great against my fair colored skin. Most pinks tend to look too pigmented and bright but this one mimics my natural color. I do dab on a bit of foundation to help create a more nude lip effect and to make sure the color stays on a bit longer but it isn't necessary. I love it by itself with a little lip balm. I took off 1 lippie because of the price but I do not have buyers remorse and I will repurchase.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
charms09 2/28/2009 2:31:00 PM
I am digging the L'oreal HIP Line! I use this on my my top eyelash line when I want to give my eyelashes a boast. I don't use the brush that came in the package, I use my own eyeliner brush that has thinner bristles for more precision. I just wiggle it in between my top eyelashes and it makes my eyes pop without looking like I have heavy liner on. The staying power was great, a 12 hour shift and this stuff didn't move. I did try it out at night with a thicker line to see if I would have the same problems other reviewers had with it fading but it worked just as well (maybe because I set it with my bare minerals hydrating spray??). It's a good, true black color that is comparable to more high end gel eyeliners. I can't wait to try it in teal or eggplant. Only have had it for a month so I don't know if it will dry out in its glass container yet, will keep you updated if that is the case, but so far it remains smooth and creamy. Would buy again.
