I LOVE this! Smells like a caramel apple! My SO loves it, too, and always wants to snuggle me when I wear this.

Fragrances -Parfums de Coeur - Body Fantasies Cotton Candy

I realy like this, and I'm 30 years old. I'm not concerned with what smells "adult" or not...as long as it smells good, it's OK by me. It smells like cotton candy and SO likes it.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Iced Lotus
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 10:17:00 AM
I received the GWP size of this blush in a swap. At first I thought this wouldn't work for me because I'm neutral-to-warm toned. But to my surprise, this blush works very well for me.
In the container, it looks like a shimmery pinky-mauve, and definitely a "cool" color. But although this is a cool-toned shade, it doesn't come off cool-toned on my face. It gives me a pretty, glowy "flushed" look.
Once I use up this GWP size, I will definitely purchase the full size.

Blush -Cover Girl - TruBlend Naturally Luminous Blush - Shimmering Sands
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 10:11:00 AM
First of all, the container is so huge I will never need to repurchase this. There's enough product in here to last me a lifetime.
Second, I don't see how this qualifies as a blush. There's almost no color to this whatsoever, just a VERY faint hint of peachy-pink that is much more suited to being an all-over highlighter. Which is exactly how I use it.
There's a decent amount of shimmer in this, and it would be easy to over-do it and get the disco ball look. Which is another reason I don't see how this can be used as a blush. In order to get the color to show up, you'd have to pile this on...which would then end up looking ridiculous due to the amount of shimmer in this powder.

Blush -Avon - Shades of Hue - Nude Combo
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 10:05:00 AM
This blush comes in a compact with 4 shades graduating from dark to light, like the BB Shimmerbricks. But this blush has very little shimmer.
This has become my HG neutral blush. I use this almost daily, and it just gives a slight hint of color to the apples of my cheeks. I don't use the darkest shade, though...I swipe my brush over just the lighter three shades when I'm using this as a blush.
This can also be used as a bronzer if you use the darkest shade. However, I don't like this as a bronzer because it has so little shimmer, it looks kinda "muddy" or "dirty" rather than a healthy glow.

Powder -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Makeup
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 9:56:00 AM
I tried Bare Escentuals mineral foundation a while back, and it was horrible. I told myself that mineral foundations just weren't for me and I wouldn't try them again. But then I saw these Jane mineral foundations at Eckerd's and for the price, I figured I'd give it a shot.
I kind of like that this comes with the sponge-type applicator. I like it better than using a brush. I pat the sponge on the palm of my hand and then rub the sponge over my face, and it applies just the right amount of foundation to even out my skin and makes my face look smoother. It doesn't settle into my pores like BE mineral foundation did, and it doesn't look chalky or powdery, either.
My skin tends to be dry in the winter months, and I get a few really dry areas - around my nose, and on my chin - and powders seem to make it look worse. But this foundation doesn't. I'm interested to see how this foundation performs in the warmer, humid months. My skin gets really oily in the summer, and usually any foundation completely melts off. We'll see what happens with this one.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Squirt Lipglass
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 9:37:00 AM
I bought this because I was looking for a perfect nude lipgloss with no shimmer, and some MUAers recommended MAC Squirt. I thought this might work for me because I had MAC Springbean and loved it. I figured Squirt would have the same effect as Springbean, just without the shimmer. WRONG!
Squirt did not give me the "honey" colored lips that Springbean did. Squirt was just plain GREEN. Like "Slimer" on Ghostbusters. Not flattering!
Thus I am still on the hunt for that perfect nude, no-shimmer lip gloss.

Lip Gloss -LORAC - Lip polish in kiss
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 9:27:00 AM
I received a mini of this in a swap, and I really love the color. The mini came in a normal wand-type container, which is nice. I've seen the regular retail "bottle" containers and I hate them, which is why I've never purchased one of the Lip Polish glosses. Although I love the color if "Kiss", I won't buy the full size because of the ridiculous packaging.

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - XXX Slick in Wicked
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 9:24:00 AM
I got this as an extra in a swap, and I'm mostly pleased with it. It's one of the very few mauve tones I can wear on my lips, and just gives a pretty YLBB look.
I do wish this came in a tube or wand type container, rather than the little pot. While the pot is cute, it's not practical at all. I don't use this very often because of that. I don't like carrying a lip brush with me and having to put in extra effort to apply my lip gloss...I'd rather just swipe it on and go!
The texture of this gloss is really nice. Feels very soft on the lips, more like a rich lip balm than a gloss. It gives a nice, soft shine, too...not at all the "vinyl" or wet look shine that most glosses have. The scent is OK, not overpowering.

Lipstick -MAC - Body Suit
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 9:18:00 AM
YUCK! I hate this color on me! I'm fair skinned, neutral-to-warm toned, and this made me look like I had corpse lips. Basically a lavender creme lipstick that I can't imagine looks good on ANYONE, honestly. It toally did not look like this in the tube, which was totally deceiving. Who wants lavender lips??? Call me crazy, but I prefer lip colors that are realistic and actually occur in nature - and lavender is not a "natural" color.

Lip Treatments -NYX - Tinted Lip Spa
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 9:13:00 AM
I bought two of these - "Juicy" and "Spirit". So far, I love them both!
"Juicy" is a very sheer true red. I bought this one because I wanted a red lip color, but not a full-on red, rather a sheer hint of red. This lip balm is my perfect red! It provides just enough color so that your lips look sort of "stained", like you've been sucking on a cherry popsicle or something. But it's semi-glossy, too.
"Spirit" is a sheer pinky-peach. This one has a little more opaque color than "Juicy", but gives a YLBB look.
I bought these at Eckerd's and went back for more, but they were gone! If I ever see these again, I will buy several more shades.

Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Lip Inflation
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 9:05:00 AM
I have this in Clear and Sheer Blush (came in a 2-pack at Wal-Mart for like $5.00). I've used both colors several times, and I still don't see anything "plumping" about this gloss. It stings a lot, but it hasn't done a thing to plump my lips at all.
Besides the fact that it doesn't do what it says it will do, the taste is horrible. And the minty scent is overwhelming. There is NOTHING good about these glosses, IMO.
It's a shame these Lip Injection glosses are such a bomb...the Diamond Lip Treatment glosses are to die for!

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Lip Stain - Berry Juicy
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 8:59:00 AM
I saw these at Ulta and grabbed one just to try it out. I've tried some other lip stains in the past, and hated them, but I gave this one a try anyway. This one was no better than the others I've tried.
I don't like the rollerball applicator, as you cannot get an even line around your lips. If you apply it too close to the lip line, it bleeds over and you end up with wierd clown lips. It also seems to take a really long time to dry, so your lips are really tacky like flypaper for a long time. Once it does finally dry, you can totally feel it on your lips. Also, it's not sheer enough. It goes on really bright from the beginning...it would be better if it applied more sheer, and you could build it up to a brighter color if you wanted to. But no...you get bright hooker lips straight out of the tube!
I did get this to apply halfway decent one day, after much effort and erasing and starting over a million times. But when my SO saw it, his comment was "What's with the lips?".
I will definitely NOT repurchase!!

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - City Shimmer Lip Gloss in Blissful Beige
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 8:49:00 AM
This was part of the fall/winter '06 Maybelline display at CVS, and it looked pretty in the tube so I grabbed it. It turned out to be a bomb.
In the tube, it's a semi-milky pinky beige with gold glitter...sort of a duochrome effect. But on the lips, it's totally clear and the glitter is really sparse. There is absolutely NO hint of color at all. And you can feel the glitter on your lips, which I hate.
I wouldn't repurchase this.

Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Diamond Lip Treatment in Pink Promise
beauty_junkie_04 1/22/2007 8:42:00 AM
This is my latest Sally Hansen lip gloss purchase, and like the others I already own, I really like this gloss! It's a sheer pink gloss with great sparkle and really brightens up my face. I'll continue to buy more of these glosses...I now own four and love them all!!
