This is another one of those polishes that looks awesome in the bottle but is disappointing upon application. This is a glitter top coat. It's a pretty aqua green that wouldn't be opaque after 10 coats.

Cleansers -Biore - Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser

This cleansed my oily skin without stripping it, but it doesn't have enough of that icy sensation I expected, ala Noxema. But it lathers well and smells nice. Regular price was $8.29 at CVS, but after the sale, coupons & ECBs, it was less than a buck. I wouldn't pay $8 for this, not when I can get a bar of Neutrogena for less than $3.

Polishes -NYX - Pink Sapphire

I popped into my local 98 cent store, as was delighted to find that they put in two new huge nail polish racks, almost as tall as I am. YAY! Twenty-five square feet of fun! It took some searching to find polishes that were new to me, but this was one of them. In the bottle it looks very cool: multiple shades of pink fine glitter! I failed to open the bottle and look at the actual polish though. This is a top coat. The glitter is sparse and in a clear base. No way is this going to be opaque. So I put on a chrome pink SH as a base and used this over it, and it just looks swell. But I'm still disappointed. They should put "top coat" on the label. It was 98 cents though, so I can't really complain.

Mascara -Maybelline - The Rocket Volume Express

I bought this because of the reviews I read here, but I was very disappointed. When I pulled the plug out of the tube so I could dunk the brush in, it had a glop of mascara on it, so instead of putting the brush in, I wiped the glop onto the brush, so really there wasn't very much mascara on the wand when I applied it. But it was still wet and clumpy on my lashes. I tried to work it though, and before I knew it I had ugly, spidery lashes ala Tammy Faye. YUCK! No matter how much I brushed, it was just GROSS. I wiped off most of the mascara and did the other eye, and that one came out better. Also, this was a PITA to remove. I made sure to buy the non-waterproof formula, too. Yeah, this product does give you lots of volume, but it's messy. Maybe if the formula was drier it would work better. Fortunately, I got this for about $2 at CVS with coupons, so I didn't have to pay full price which was $7.79. NYC's Sky Rise at $1.99 (regular price) works much better IMO.

Lips -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast Liquid Lip Color Red My Mind

I bought this as a filler, thinking it was lipgloss, but actually it's an amazingly pigmented liquid lipstick that dries into a long-lasting matte finish. I LOVE matte lips, and I love red lipstick, so I'll definitely repurchase this, especially since it's so cheap! This is a classic tomato-red sans any shimmer or glitter. I got it at CVS for $1 after the sale & coupons, but the regular price is only $2.99.

Polishes -Sinful - Ciao Bella

In the bottle, this looks really cool: shimmery dark blue with a purple sheen to it, but the purple just doesn't show up on my nails. The formula was a little thick but it went on smoothly, but was a slower than average to dry. It's a two coater. I got it at Wag's for $1 on sale.

Wow, this stuff really works. It's been in my stash for years and I just now started using it. My skin's been really irritated and red, so I slathered a couple of pumps over my face, and 30 minutes later all the redness was gone. I love it when a product does what it actually claims to do. Doesn't even smell bad!

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Diamond Lust - Neptune Star

I liked Plum Galaxy and Night Sky, but this one has less pigment and shimmer than those. It's supposed to be a super-shimmery teal, but even with primer, it barely shows up at all. I got this at CVS for 49 cents with coupons & ECBs though, so I can't complain too much.

This is more like a glitter top coat than a polish. Tons of chunky glitter, some star-shaped, in a pink clear base. Had to take a lippie off for the smell, plus it's a tad thick, but hey, it was only $1.

Gels/Soaps -Softsoap - Raspberry Sorbet & Almond Blossom body wash

I love the tangy raspberry scent of this. This is a gel with grainy moisture beads in it, which I thought was a lame scrub at first. Lathers well and doesn't dry out my skin. Best of all it was dirt cheap at CVS with my coupons.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Eye Definer Felt-Tip Eye Marker

I picked this up at CVS because all Physician's Formula products were $6 off, so I got it for $1.79. Great deal! Unfortunately, this doesn't work with my oily lids. It began to smear in minutes. I like the concept though, and it was easy to use.

Fragrance -Ralph Lauren - Polo Black

Just about makes my eyes roll back in my head. Heady and masculine without being too busy. Contains iced mango and silver armoise whatever those are. "Iced mango" ??? Guess room temperature just wouldn't do. Anyway, I love this scent. I wish I could wear it.

Gels/Soaps -Softsoap - Coconut Island Quench body wash

This is a very rich, creamy body wash. Lathers like crazy and I don't even need to use a separate shaving cream when I shave my legs. It does smell like coconut, but it has a synthetic but not unpleasant tinge to it. I read the ingredients, and jojoba oil is listed before coconut oil. Maybe that's what it is. Anyway, I like this, and I'd buy it again. I got this at CVS. If you use coupons and ECBs, you can get it for $1 this week.

Does exactly the opposite of what it says. My polish chips the very next day when I use this. I've switched to Revlon Colorstay base coat, the best bc EVERRRR!!

Top/Base Coats -New York Color - Shimmer Blast top coat

I heard of this via the Nail Board and the pix were so pretty I ran out and picked it up. This is a pearly translucent top coat with multicolor shimmer. If you get tired of your manicure but are too lazy to change it, add a coat of this and it will transform it, adding a veil of subtle glitter. On glitter polishes, it's barely noticeable, but on darker crème shades it really pops. I got this at Rite Aid for 99 cents (reg. price: $1.99 + a $1 coupon on the display).
