Blush -NARS - Desire
Sayoko 2/18/2010 8:33:00 PM
I absolutely love this blusher. NARS makes great quality blushers and it shows with desire. It is one of my all time favorites, and with most of NARS blushers this is great for NC/NW15-NC/NW55 girls and it looks great on everyone. I'm NC 50 /C8 for reference. This shade is a little bright in the pan, but with a light hand, excellent results can be achieved. I took a lippie off becuase I hate the rubber packaging, but I would definately buy this again if I had to.

Blush -NARS - Mata Hari
Sayoko 2/6/2010 10:40:00 PM
Another fantastic blush from NARS! Mata Hari is as described NARScosmetics.com,a "rose petal pink". I think that description is pretty accurate. It is the perfect matte pink color, no shimmer or glitter which I prefer. It looks dark in the pan, However, once applied on my cheeks using my 187 brush, it shows up as a perfect pink. Suprisingly this complemented my NC50 skin very well. This blush like most of NARS blushers the quality is excellent. Great pigmentation and great staying power! My blush looks just as good after 6 plus hours of wearing. NC/NW15-30 skin tones have to be careful with this as it is very pigmented. With that said, a light careful sweep with a 187/88 brush should do the trick! I would definitely buy this again if I needed too but I doubt I'll hit the pan anytime soon.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Mure et Musc Extreme
Sayoko 1/19/2010 6:33:00 AM
This version of mure et musc is much better than the re formulated original that's available this is definately rich with blackberry notes, and it's pefect for the winter and summer months. a great balance it's not too sweet or fruity which I don't like. The downside to this is the $$$ for a little e'xtreme! I just don't agree with the price tag on this The original forumla that was originally created in 1978-1990 was definately worth the price tag...

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Mure et Musc
Sayoko 1/19/2010 6:25:00 AM
After basking in the nostaliglia of the history of this fragrance created in 1978, by jean Laporte the original founder, incorporating a blackberry note, Mûre et Musc creates a perfect natural harmony, which hardly needs any other embellishments. the cool aldehydic mist is distinct in the top notes and soft woods in the base note; I was very dissapointed. L'artsian changed the formula to mure et musc in the early 90s so this definately didn't represent the mure et musc that I knew and love, this didn't last very long on me at all, very much a watered down version of the original. I will not buy this again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Electric Eel
Sayoko 1/18/2010 5:49:00 PM
Definately an instant favourite of mine. This is an intense, neon blue, I guess this is why MAC name this electric, because that it is! I wouldn't recomend this for those who play it safe, however, I would recomended this for the edgy, daring, and adventerous only. It's very pigmented and it is even more so using a base, and additional layers. This definately brings out a pop in light and dark eyes so, it's not your subtle, neutral, or classic go to eyeshadow. I love it!.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
Sayoko 1/18/2010 1:33:00 AM
Ok, I am more of a high end foundation junkie, after my friend recomended this to me as a good summertime foundation I decided to give this a go. So I waited 3 weeks to review this because I wanted to see if it was going to break me out. Suprise, suprise It didn't! This is, hands down the BEST drug store foundation I've tried and I've tried them all with terrible results(hence what started my high end transition). In fact, this foundation works better than high end foundations such as Bobbi Brown, MAC and Estee Lauder in my opinion. With all that being said, lets get down to what I loved about it 1. It covers really well, moderate to full coverage if you keep on building, resulting in a flawless look 2. Revlon has an excellent colour range to suit all skintones from fair to very dark . I'm an NC50, and I use Caramel combo/oily. Suprisingly a near perfect match for me. 3. This lasts several hours 10+ on me and this foundation does not come off on my clothing which I like. 4. I have not had any acne problems or isues using this, and I do not have a mask heavy feel, and it worked really well in humid climates another plus. Now onto the minus and It's just 2 things, I'm not fond of the packaging, Revlon, could have added a pump to this!!! Also, this is not a foundation I would use for photos as this is not photo ready( my face looked slightly lighter than the rest of me) I think MUFE HD works best for that. I apply this with my MAC 180,(or any flat top kabuki like brush) most of the time becuase it gives me an airbrushed look , or my MAC 187(a stipling brush) when my 180 is dirty. All in all, Revlon Colorstay is definately worth checking out, it's great for the price, and it's functionability I'd definately buy this again.

Fragrances -Penhaligon's - Violetta
Sayoko 1/16/2010 4:43:00 PM
The first spray is a shocking and surprising green burst of violet, not at all powdery to me this is more wild in a pleasing way, It's not as sweet very reminisicent of Borsari's Violetta di Parma! I would definately buy again.

Fragrances -Penhaligon's - Bluebell
Sayoko 1/16/2010 4:38:00 PM
I am not Dissapointed with Penhaligon's blubell at all! this is exactly what I expected from this all time classic british fragrance Cool, sweet, and very floral. This reminds me of Hyacinths than any perfume with Hyacinths notes I've ever tried! This definately takes me back to Yorkshire England. I don't get the meticallic/chemical smell that other reviewers mentioned, maybe it's about body chemistry. Speaking of which this works really well with me. I think bluebell is one of those you either like it or you don't type of fragrance I'd definately buy this again.

Fragrances -Creed - Love in White
Sayoko 1/16/2010 4:20:00 PM
I think it is a lovely, elegant soft floral. Perfect for the spring/summer. The dry down on this, is great, a lovely soft citrusy-floral. Suprisingly, this lasted a while about 8 hours which is amazing for a Creed fragrance.

Fragrances -Creed - Love in Black
Sayoko 1/16/2010 4:10:00 PM
I am Very disappointed with this one- great name, fab marketing technique, but this is where it ends..It's a rather expensive and poorly created rendition of violets. The notes don't mix in very nicely in my opinion, they seem very conflicting to me - awkward, clumsy, and unbalanced comes to mind. The top and heart notes are awful but the dry down is just ok. I don't like it. There I said it. There are better violet perfumes out there such as penhaligion's violetta, or quelques violettes. .

Fragrances -Creed - Fleurissimo
Sayoko 1/16/2010 3:58:00 PM
Fleurissimo is very, very pretty imo. The tuberose & violet combination is simply gorgeous, and it has a slight soapy quality to it. I can understand why Prince Ranier asked Creed to commission this for Grace Kelly. As a lover of florals, I definately feel comfortable wearing this. One should definately check this one out!

Fragrances -Creed - Spring Flower
Sayoko 1/16/2010 3:40:00 PM
Spring flowers is one of my least favourite Creed fragrances. I got caught up in the history behind spring flowers, but in my opinion it isn't very unique, and this dosen't last a very long time on the skin either. The SA at Berdgoff's mentioned the oil to add to the perfume , but I think that's just too much (financially) just to have the fragrance last a couple of hours longer. I am not going to re-purchase this again, once it's finished..

Fragrances -Houbigant - Quelques Violettes
Sayoko 1/16/2010 3:16:00 PM
Quelques Violettes is a pretty, summery floral bouquet with a definate hint of violet topnotes. It's similar to Quelques Fleurs, but a bit sweeter. On me this drys down to a light yet refreshing powdery warm floral . This is perfect year round actually. I alternate with the Original.

Fragrances -Houbigant - Quelques Fleurs
Sayoko 1/16/2010 2:58:00 PM
This fragrance is everything thing a classy, sensual and feminine fragrance should be. Sophisticated. This is my all time favourite favourite fragrance. I have worn this since I was fifteen years old and I'm now in my 30s...I always go back to this. The reviewers who all said that it's a people magnet, are absolutely correct. I have received many compliments from both men and women..when I give the name of the fragrance, most people have no idea or have never heard of it. . This fragrance was created in 1912 by Robert Bieniame, who became the assistant to and protege of Paul Parquet, partial owner of Houbigant. Bieniame created the classic perfume Quelques fleurs. The Original scent was discontinued in the 1950s only to be re-formulated in the late 1980s. I cannot comment on the original, but I must say I adore the re-formulated version! The floral notes are not overpowering. It is just class and sophistication. it is a beautiful scent, not green sharp but very balmy, polleny, exactly like a lush bouquet of assorted flowers, lilac, honeysuckle, narcissus, lily, rose, iris, turerose, carnation. This is worth checking out if you're into florals

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
Sayoko 1/16/2010 2:28:00 PM
After reading the reviews on MUA about this cleanser, I decided to try it. I must say that I am definately NOT a fan about this one. I am more a foaming cleanser kind of girl and it didn't work out that well after tring it for 2 weeks. I'd say it probably works better for people who have sensitive skin.
