BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
rated 3 of 5
Aishteru85 4/16/2012 9:03:00 AM

I have very very oily/acne-prone skin. I have moderate acne scarring and I am NC30-37 in Mac. And I live in a tropical weather. The consistency-It's actually thick and came out grey. I looked ridiculous when wearing this at first but after 15 minutes it oxidized to suit my skin tone, not exactly the perfect skin color but slightly lighter but still passable when set with a darker powder. This prbably wouldnt suit a person with skin tone above NC37. as it only comes in one color Coverage-This was sheer to medium coverage and covers acne scars moderately, I still have to use a concealer when using this as the acne scars can still be seen through. Application-I applied with fingers and i felt that it helps melt the cream into my skin better than when using a brush or a sponge. Longevity-This was so-so for me mainly because it got SUPERRR OILY on me after just 4 hours and it have also disappeared from my forehead and chin by then. And I was in an air-conditioning room the whole time! BB Creams are meant to be used alone, so when testing this I was not wearing any primer/moisturizer underneath and I even set it with a loose powder. When I meant super oily I meant, when swiping my fingers across my cheeks the BB Cream came off along with my natural oil in a small gooey mess. Kinda disgusting and to be honest I have never had a foundation or tinted moisturizer or BB cream do that to me.Eww All in all, this would have made me a convert had it not been so oily on me and disappeared after just four hours. This I'd probably recommend for people with dry/normal skin. If you have oily skin like me, best to skip this one.

Liquid -Smashbox - Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Fdt.
rated 4 of 5
Aishteru85 4/8/2012 8:30:00 AM

For reference I am NC35 in Prolongwear, Tawny in ELDW, 310 + 330 in Revlon Colorstay and #55 in Bourjois Healthy Mix. In this, I got this in no 2.3. I have very very oily skin and live in a hot and humid weather. The reason why I include my skin coloring is because when trying out new Foundation I tend to rely on MUA and see how the fondation matches my skin twins so as to no buy the wrong shade. SAs are not very reliable. Well, what can I say? I agree with another reviewer down below that this is actually the exact replica of Prolongwear, except more expensive and it doesnt oxidize. The texture is somewhat thick but the funny part is that it only evens out the skin tone and does not cover or even blur acne marks whatsoever when first layered. You have to at least use a full 3 pumps before you get at least a medium coverage (this claimed to already be in the medium-full coverage zone). The good part is that even after 3 full pump of layering, it does not get cakey and retains its natural satiny finish, which is actually great as this actually look like skin. So, for me this is actually a sheer-medium coverage foundation. The good part is also that after 3 pumps, it still feels lightweight and airy. It doesnt feel dry on my skin, its rather hydrating w/o being oily. I still get oily after the 6 hours but hey even my much-loved ELDW does that on me. The longevity is comparable to MAC Prolongwear. It lasts at least 12 hours on me and then it started to get splotchy. It doesnt really control my oilies well, i get quite oily by mid day. and i need to blot more so than eldw or prolongwear or rev cs. For me the 2.3 matches me well albeit being a tiny bit slightly darker then I'd like on my olive asian skin. Bear in mind I like a foundation color that brightens my face (not lighten like you have cement paste on) and not make me look dark and muddy- its really a personal preference, this does not fall into the foundation category of brightening on me but doesnt make me look dirty either. Doesnt oxidize on my very very oily skin, stays true to color throughout the day. I have not noticed any transfer on my clothes or when sweating, my sweat has not turned orange.I find this foundation is best applied using hands. all in all a pretty decent foundation

Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - Eyelash curler
rated 5 of 5
Aishteru85 4/8/2012 5:48:00 AM

I have always thought that all eyelash curlers are the same and never bothered buying a good one. My old eyelash curler was a no-brand drugstore kind and it was cheap. It pinched my lid and doesnt do a good job at curling my lashes. Then I lost it somehow, and decided to get a new one. I wanted to try the shue uemera, but couldnt justify spending that much money on an eyelash curler. I was browsing ebay and came across a seller that sold this plus international shipping around USD 9.00 and thought why not. And wow, amazing!! now i truly know what its like to have a good eyelash curler... fits my Asian eye shape too a tee, doesnt pinch my lid at all and gives me great great curl....for such a cheap price this works marvelously....highly recommended

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
rated 5 of 5
Aishteru85 4/7/2012 11:56:00 PM

Okay, first off. I'm a beginner in terms of eyeshadow. I have only started to wear them these past 2 months or so. I dont really wear eyeshadows before because I have semi-double lid and they're hooded. And I never bothered wearing any except mascara and intense eyeliner plus I used to suck at blending eyeshadows together and picking the right color. But I had purchased Naked 2 and Naked 1 on a whim about 2 months ago (they are my first real shadows) and I had to force myself to start wearing eyeshadow or else it would go to waste. And my application has gotten better after numerous YT Tutorials. What can I say? These shadows put the UD Shadows to SHAME! I was really surprised how smooth and pigmented these are. I mean, honestly speaking I dare say the pigmentation are much much better than any of the colors on the UD palettes that I own and the vibrancy of the colors are just spectacular even more vibrant than that of the UD palette. Bear in mind this is my first Wet N Wild Shadows. Had I known the quality of the Wet N Wild Shadows were this good I would have skipped on the UD Naked 1 & 2 and would have saved myself USD 120.00~~~Sigh~~. End of Rant. Okay these shadows are buttery smooth and have zero fall out on me. the colors are easily blended and are really pigmented. And they last a while. The lid color looks really gorgeous on me but the crease color on the pan looks like a medium brown but on me it looks bronze (shimmery). (I'm NC35 btw). The browbone highlight is great, works well. All in all a great colors but I had to use another deep brown color from my collection for the crease as the crease color does not work well on my skin tone. Highly recommended! To any shadows beginner, pls pls pls try the Wet n Wild Shadows before you go High End. These are really good.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
rated 3 of 5
Aishteru85 3/23/2012 6:00:00 AM

I have got to stop trusting YT Gurus! Half of my make up purchases have been influenced by their constant raves. Emilynoel83 on YT raved so much abt these lip butters. I was so excited to try these when it hit my shores. It was available locally about 2-3 months after it was released in the U.S. When I first saw these in my local pharmacy/watson. I was so excited as I had heard so many good reviews on them. I immediately grabbed them! And for starters bought two shades, peach parfait and Macaroon. And then fullstop never went and buy another shade again. WHY? Cuz this is really over-hyped! For starters, I dont really think its extremely moisturizing as many have claimed. Seriously i feel that NYX's lipsticks are way more hydrating and moisturizing. This actually felt oily on my lips. Not creamy-comfortable but actually greasy-oily. And the color? Pigmentation is high on the macaroon shade(the darker one) but the peach parfait has very little pigmentation and to me seem to sheer. And the GLITTERATI BOMB! yes, i can feel the flecks of glitter sitting on my lip as i rub my lips together, and to be honest it actually hurts a little. You know you can feel the grainy bits of the glitter like tiny sands on your lips? Not really a great feeling. And not only that, when it faded it left a glitter mess on your lips that made people wonder whether you intentionally wore actual glitter on your lips. Longevity of the product-4 hours max-without eating or drinking. Price-Overpriced for such a subpar poduct. Packaging is actually cute, the only thing positive about it so far. Will I buy again? No. But then, this is my honest opinion. To each their own....

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush - Rose D'Oro
rated 4 of 5
Aishteru85 3/23/2012 3:35:00 AM

I bought this after emilynoel raved how beautiful the milani baked blushes are. So since this line is not available locally I had to purchase this on cherry culture and waited for about a month before it arrived. I got this and another called Coralina. While I dislike Coralina for being a glitterbomb. This I actually liked much much better. The color of this blush is a dusty rose with swirls of golden flecks of shimmer/glitter. This is a supremely pigmented blush, you only need a soft swirl or else you might end up looking like a clown. Really Really great pigmentation. A light hand is the key in application. The longevity is great, lasts well up to 14 hours of wear and the color stays fairly visible and does not fade. This has glitter in it, no doubt but thank god, it's not as bad as coralina. This has flecks of glitter in it but not overwhelming. The glitter here is not over the top and imparts a nice glowy sheen on your cheeks when applied. It doesnt make you look like you have chunks of glitter on your cheeks and it doesnt turn you into a golden disco ball (Thank heavens for that). The packaging is flimsy and cheap looking, very easily breakable too. the brush it comes with is useless. All in all, this is a great blush, really good pigmentation, really good staying power and really beautiful color. And cheap too. I got this for USD 6.99. Highly recommended.

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Foundation ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
Aishteru85 3/22/2012 11:38:00 PM

I bought this off ebay in #55 Dark Beige. For reference I am 3w1 Tawny in ELDW, NC35 in Prolongwear, 310 in Revlon CS. I also have very very oily skin with medium acne-scarring and I live in a tropical weather. I bought this mainly because of the great review. The color is a tad too pinkish for my olive asian skin tone. But the color itself is not too dark on me nor too light. After 3-4 minutes of application, it oxidizes and suits my skin tone rather well aside from looking too pink. I have to say, upon application this has got to be the best finishes i have ever seen. It has really beautiful satiny finish and makes my skin almost translucent and glowy and natural. It really made me look radiant. Really love love the finish. It blends seamlessly into the skin and is very lightweight. But the staying power is bad, not 16hrs as it claimed. It lasted about 6 hours with regular (3 times)touch up. This doesnt help control any oilies I have. And this has a light-medium coverage, does not cover acne scars well, but it does even out the skin tone. I'd say that this would probably work best for someone with normal skin or dry skin and with relatively zero to minimal scarring, I'd imagine this could be HG for them. I'd probably wear this when I know I'd be out for less than a few hours and when i have good skin days.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush - Coralina
rated 3 of 5
Aishteru85 3/22/2012 11:11:00 PM

I bought this mainly because emilynoel on youtube raved about how beautiful this blush is. This line is not available locally and I had to purchase this from cherry culture and waited about a month before it arrived. The color is really gorgeous, flat out coral with swirls of orange. but what I DONT LIKE about it is the Glitter! It has flecks of glitters not pearly sheen, not subtle shimmer or pearly glow but MAJOR WHAMMY SILVER GLITTER. And like a reviewer below me stated, the glitter when swatched on my wrist falls off (as it is drier than my face) and what is left is the beautiful coral shade with no sheen or shimmer, but on my face i look like a silver disco ball, not a pretty sight. A little disappointed actually as this was a major lemming for me. Should have known that what works for others may not necessarily work for me. SIGH~~~. The longevity of this blush is actually pretty good. After 12-14 hours of applying make up, the color is still very visible and has not faded. The pigmentation of the blush is also very very good, too good to the point that you only really need one soft swirl of the blush or else you'd end up looking like a clown-A light hand is the key in applying this blush. The packaging is tacky-very flimsy and cheap looking as with all milani's packaging. This would have been a great blush had it not have flecks of glitters in it. If you actually like glitter then this maybe your cup of tea.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 3 of 5
Aishteru85 3/17/2012 12:36:00 AM

I got this on a whim. I usually dont do eyeshadow when I apply make up simply because i have semi-double lid. So anything you put on is covered under the hooded layer. So it is only visible if i close my eyes. Therefore I usually put on a really bold eyeliner. For me, for the price I have to shell out, I Feel that the quality of these eyeshadows are mediocre. I have tonnes of fall out, especially with suspect, ydk, snakebite and pistol. Not just on my face but on the palette as well. I dont own naked 1, so i cant compare. but for the price there shouldnt be mega fall out. Second, I find that it's not as easy to pack on the color on the lid, i feel that you need at least two application to see a vibrant color and by the second application, major fallout on your cheeks. And not as smooth as compared to WnW. Not really easily blended either. Some colors go well with my skin tone NC35 here, some dont, indeed this is probably more suited to those who have a cooler undertone. The longevity is okay, slightly better than drugstore ones, and with UDPP, it lasts the whole day. But of course, by the end of the day, most colors are not as vibrant and they have been reduced to a wash on the eyelids. All in all. I feel that these are one of those over hyped product, not really worth spending USD60 on, I'd rather spend the money on WnW and get more quality shadows and plus for USD 60 I could get like 8 mini pallettes...

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation
rated 3 of 5
Aishteru85 2/25/2012 11:39:00 AM

Hhhmmm, after hearing such great review. I had to try this. For reference my HG foundation is ELDW in Tawny and 2nd HG would be Revlon Colorstay in 330 mixed with 310. I got this in NC35. Disappointed. I should never have strayed...Sigh~~ such a huge waste of money. This cost around USD 42.00 in my country and the worst bit about it is that we dont have return policy for make up. Sigh~~~~~....I have super oily face, and the only two foundations that last long enough are ELDW and CS. Wear: This lasts up to maybe 8 hrs and it started separating from my face after just 7 hours wear. (I live in a hot and humid weather and I sweat a tonnes) Color: NC35 was a pretty good match for my skin, but towards the end of the day it oxidizes and left me looking dark and dirty. Application: This applies well, great blend-ability and doesnt dry too quickly i find this applies just as well with hands or with stippling brush and the texture is slightly thicker than ELDW but not as heavy as CS. Feel: It doesnt feel heavy and felt quite light weight. But doesnt control oil all that well, my face is a grease ball by mid day. Doesnt leave a whitish casts in photos though. Coverage: This gives medium to full coverage. It builds nicely too and doesnt leave me cakey no matter how much i build it. So this does not cake as much as the CS. This also did not leave my pores looking larger neither did it make it invisible. The formula did not break me out. All in all this is a mediocre foundation in its class, I would definitely be going back to my ELDW...why did i stray? i got bored..i wanted to try something new and now i know better. Would I buy again? No...simply because I can get 2 Revlon colorstay for the price and Rev CS performs wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bettterrr

Lotions/ Creams -Crabtree & Evelyn - Gardeners Hand Therapy
rated 4 of 5
Aishteru85 12/25/2011 8:26:00 AM

Okay, I have been using this a good three months. This for me is a very decent hand lotion. I have been using this every night before i go to bed for the last three months. And I have to say it has improved the condition of my hands tremendously. I started noticing that my hands were getting very dry after each hand wash. This was never the case before. I guess as we age, we start to have drier skin, and at 26 I've been starting to see the change in my skin. I am not one to use lotion, as i felt that they are a hassle. But now, i use them religiously as my skin has changed quite a bit. The consistency of the lotion is much like most hand lotions, but i felt that this is less oily as compared to other brands. Easy to absorb and not super thick. After a few minutes of applying this, it would have absorbed completely making my hands super soft and nicely hydrated. It felt somewhat sticky and greasy upon application but goes off after a few minutes of application. The scent of this lotion is very green and garden-like, it smelled as though you have just stepped into a garden. I like the earthy smell to it. And its mild enough not to be offensive. I feel that even after a handwash, this still keeps my hands pretty moisturized. I purchased this in the 100g tube and it costs around USD 24.00 where i'm at. Very pricey. But even after 3 months of using I've only used 70% of the tube, so it will perhaps last me another 6 months or so. Would I repurchase this? Yes, for the reason that this actually helps my hands become softer with regular use and that my roughened spot is completely gone. Highly recommended!

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Waterproof Eyeliner Pen
rated 5 of 5
Aishteru85 12/17/2011 7:54:00 AM

Wow, am super surprised by how this cheap lil thing performed! This lasted me through a 12 hour work day. I have super oily lids, and without any primer this withstands sweats and oils and the crazy humidity and extreme heat where i live. I dont notice any smudging or flaking at all, even after a hectic day at work. Nope, no smudge even when i apply it. This is also fast drying. So it doesnt give room for smudging or mistakes. And the color is very pigmented and I got this in Black. the black is really deep Black, You can control how thick you want the liner. The thing i didnt like about this is that it actually hurts a lil when i draw the line cuz the end of the pen is pointed and rather sharp. And the cap is very hard to remove and put back on. This is kinda hard to remove with plain water, be sure to remove it with make up remover. But overall a great cheap liner that actually works and lasts

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Mocha Rose Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
Aishteru85 12/17/2011 7:45:00 AM

I love this. Despite the fact that this has the same consistency as vaseline minus the color, this one is a translucent pink. This actually does moisturize unlike vaseline. When I first put it on, my lips were quite chapped and i could feel the ugly hardened membranes jutting out when i pressed my lips. As soon as I put this on, this melts away all the hardened bits. It was as though my lips were never chapped at all. A small little miracle! I've never had a balm that actually sinks in and smooths away all the hardened bits of my chapped lips. This is the only balm that has managed to do that. The rest usually flakes them off. I love this and love the fact that a tub will last you a long time. Oh And the smell! So heavenly chocolatey-vanilla goodness! Sometimes, I cant resist from licking em! The wear is quite good, my lips felt pretty moisturized after 4 hours without touch up and no foof or drink intake.I will continue buying this despite the fact that the tub is so unhygienic.

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie #630
rated 5 of 5
Aishteru85 12/10/2011 8:07:00 AM

I have medium-skin tone. NC35 to be exact. This is sooooo gorgeous on medium skin tone! This is the perfect nude lip stick! It doesnt make me look sick. Very hard to find a great nude color for medium skin tone. The texture is also very creamy and it lasts fairly oaky around 2 hours before it starts to rub off without eating or drinking. What I dont like about this is that since my lips are pigmented, it tends to highlight the lines on my lips so i had to get a lip concealer from etude house. But the color is really great. A pale peach color with a slight coral tinge to it. This is my go to everyday wear as i like to do my eyes a lil dramatic..LOVE! will definitely repurchase

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
rated 3 of 5
Aishteru85 11/20/2011 4:35:00 AM

I have been lemming for this forever. Since I dont live in the U.S, its really hard to get a hold of. But I managed to track down a local seller who purchases this in bulk from the U.S and sells it locally. The price is quite cheap. The color in the pan looks super-boring. And to be honest after wearing this for a week, I could say with great conviction this is perhaps one of those overrated hypes. First of, the color. It is a light coral-pink blush and leans towards the pink spectrum more so than the coral and has TONNES OF GOLD specks. I wouldnt say that this has out right huge sparkles. Its more like tiny gold specks and if you look at it from a far it looks more like a sheen. I think the Gold specks are too overwhelming and unevenly distributed in the blush and when you apply it, the gold is more obvious than the light-coral pink blush. The staying power sucks. it lasted about 3 hours or so before totally disappearing. And this, on me NC35, took more than 5 swipes before i could see any flush, but dont be fooled, by that time your cheeks would have been a mini golden disco ball, with a tiny hint of pink lights. So not really a pretty sight. If they had cut back on the golden specks, i think this would have made a pretty and interesting blush I dont find the texture chalky as many have complaint. But i certainly wouldnt be buying this again. Such a huge letdown....SIGH~~~
