This conditioner is a nice compliemnt to the A/G Thikk wash that I use often (and love). This leaves my hair soft and manageable with added volume. It also detangles well (an absolute must for my long hair). Love the fruity scent too. I would repurchase again.
I have normal hair but a very, very oily scalp so I use volumizing products to help add lift at my roots. This is one of the few volumizing shampoos that I've found that actually delivers. Want to know why it works? It contains polymers that are usually found in styling sprays, mousses and gels (PVP, Acrylates copolymer, etc.) They cling to the hair and add volume to it. This shampoo cleans my hair well, leaves it shiny and soft but at the same time adds a lot of volume, texture and 'stylability' (if you will) to my hair. As long as I alternate with a clarifying shampoo I have no problems with buildup either. Love the fruity scent too! It is expensive but totally worth it to me. I will definitely repurchase once I run out.
Ugh, awful stuff. I have normal hair and a decent amount if it but I have a very oily scalp so my hair tends to fall flat very easily. To avoid having completely flat hair I use volumizing products to add lift. I bought this stuff hoping it would work but sadly, it does absolutely nothing for my hair. It weighs down my roots and makes my hair feel very sticky and greasy (even if I only use a small amount). Total waste of fifteen dollars on my part. Would never repurchase.
I love this perfume. I adore girly, feminine scents so this intense, sweet floral is perfect for me. I could only find the perfume oil back at home but when travelling overseas I was sooo happy to find the eau de toilette spray! This and the Body Shop's Vanilla perfume are the only perfumes I ever have and ever will use. Love, love, love it and will repurchase as long as they keep making it.
Lipstick -The Body Shop - Sheer Lip Shine- 02 Guava
lovelyliisa 12/9/2006 5:07:00 AM
These new sheer lipsticks from the Body Shop are really quite nice. This shade looks like a medium reddish pink in the tube but applies as a sheer pinkish colour witht a hint of red on my lips and it has a slight shimmer. I also find that by blotting it down it works as a nice lip stain. I also love the sleek, silver packaging. I will be repurchasing and am going to try more shades.
Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Seaweed Shine Control Moisturizer SPF 15
lovelyliisa 12/9/2006 5:01:00 AM
I have oily skin (but sometimes experience a bit of dryness) and fully understand the importance of using sunscreen daily (even though my skin hates most of them). So whenever I see the words 'Shine Control' and 'SPF' in the same sentence I tend to get very excited. So naturally, when I stumbled across this at my local Body shop I had to try it. It moisturized my dry patches decently well but the shine control factor for this stuff is non-existent IMO (big disappointment). It made me look shiny and I found I had to blot a lot more over the course of the day than I usually do. I also find the tube is much too small for the price I paid. Oh well, my search for the perfect ultra light moisturizer with SPF continues. Won't be repurchasing.
Eye Makeup Remover -The Body Shop - Chamomile Eye Makeup Remover
lovelyliisa 12/9/2006 4:56:00 AM
This is a decent eye makeup remover but nothing special. It took off my mascara, long-wearing eyeliner and shadows without any greasiness or major stinging. However, I find it to be overpriced, especially compared to drugstore removers that deliver the same results. For that reason, I won't be repurchasing.
All in all, a very nice mascara. I hadn't used a mascara from The Body Shop in years. The last one I remember using was goopy, clumpy and did absolutely nothing for my eyelashes. But this new mascara is a different story. It glides on smoothly with no clumping, gives my lashes great definition, lengthens them well and adds volume. I took one lippie off because it smudged a little bit but other than that it wore very well throughout the day. Overall, I'm very impressed. I also love how it comes in a nice rich black and a dark, true brown, not a nasty grayish black or dirty brown. I will definitely repurchase...:)
I've used this cleanser on and off for a while now and really like it. It cleans my oily skin without stripping and removes makeup well. The microbeads in it leave my face feeling very soft and smooth. I tend to use this while travelling as for me it eliminates the need to bring both a separate cleanser and exfoliator. Gotta love practicality. Plus its very cheap too. Would repurchase.
This is a great, inexpensive, long-wearing liquid liner. I like gel eyeliners because I find they last the longest on my oily lids but I find this stuff gives it a run for its money. It comes in basic, but good colours (black and brown), has great lasting power and unlike other liquid liners I find it easy to apply. The tip of the applicator and allows me to draw a fine, thin line easily or achieve a thicker line but applying more pressure. It's completely smudgeproof and is easy to remove with eye makeup remover. Love this and would definitely repurchase.
Eyes -Ardell - Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator Treatment Gel
lovelyliisa 9/9/2006 12:35:00 AM
Good grief. I absolutely love this product. If I could give it ten lippies I would. I want to buy it by the caseful. I recommend it to everyone I know. I can't bear the thought of letting my lashes go one night eithout it. IT'S THAT GOOD... This very inexpensive drugstore gem really does help regrow eyelashes and eyebrows. I had tried Mavala Double Lash and was sorely disappointed as it did nothing for me. I saw this product online (I'm from Canada where it isn't sold in stores) and thought I'd give it a go. The high amount of panthenol in this product is what makes the difference IMO. My lashes are naturally fairly long and thick but this stuff makes them grow longer more quickly, they shed less and in general are much much healthier and beautiful looking. It's even helped sparse areas in my brows fill in. I absolutely, compltely, 1000% recommend trying this product. At less than five dollars a tube, there's little reason not to. I will continue to purchase it as long as they keep making it. Please never, ever discontinue it Ardell!
Cleansers -The Body Shop - Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash
lovelyliisa 9/9/2006 12:28:00 AM
This is a nice, basic face wash for oily and combination skins. It lathers and cleans well without drying my skin and leaves it feeling very soft and clean. I like the fresh seaweed/herbal scent of this product and the tube packaging is great for travel. I would repurchase.
Ugh. Terrible product. This shampoo made the ends of my hair look dry and frizzy and my scalp greasy and dirty looking. 'Glossing' my rear end! My hair hadn't looked so gross in ages. Would never repurchase.
Shampoo -The Body Shop - Nettle Oil Balance Shampoo
lovelyliisa 9/9/2006 12:21:00 AM
I have a very oily scalp and need to wash/clarify my hair on an almost daily basis. This shampoo cleans my hair well without stripping it and leaves it feeling refreshed. I didn't notice and extra oil control, but it's still a good daily shampoo for those with oily hair/scalp or a weekly clarifier for other hair types. I love the fresh clean herbal scent too. I will be repurchasing. :)
Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Lip Butter - Mango
lovelyliisa 9/9/2006 12:16:00 AM
Don't bother with this, this product is a below average lip balm IMHO. I'm actually apalled at myself for shelling out ten dollars for it when Aquaphor or even plain old Vaseline work much better to soften and condition dry lips. This 'lip butter' doesn't moisturize well, wears off quickly and had an odd, rancid fruit taste/smell to it. Not impressed at all, would never repurchase.
