Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Smackers-Moon Rock Candy
rated 3 of 5

Okay, so I haven't actually HAD a tube of Moon Rock Candy in probably 15 years, but what I do remember is that it was one of my favorite Lip Smackers when I was a little girl. Yes it left a glittery, gray mess on my lips and was a bit gritty because of the chunks of glitter, but I kept it on my nightstand and remember always putting it on before bed. So who really cares if it made me look like an alien? So if your little girl likes sweet scented lippies, this fits the bill.

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Healing Cream

I'm not quite sure what to make of this product. I put some on healing acne marks, with hopes of speeding along the healing process and reducing redness. But, it hasn't done any of that for me. It seems to help though when I put it on tiny little bumps that spring up and on my eyebrows after plucking. Also, it smells like other MB sulfur products, yet I don't see sulfur in the ingredient list. It doesn't take much product to put on spots, but I still wasn't happy shelling out the $$ for it (my local Ulta only had the large size, of course!). Yet another disappointing MB product. *sigh* :( *UPDATE* After this sat around in my vanity for months, if not a year, I recently broke it out again after developing some weird irritation bumps by my eyes. It seemed to help soothe that away so I've been keeping up with it, applying on tiny bumps like I did before. It's not an overnight miracle, but it does seem to help shrink them after a few days.

Masks -Mario Badescu - Healing and Soothing Mask

I wanted to wait a month or so until I had used this enough times to make sure my results weren't just a fluke. I got a sample jar of this with my last MB order and after probably 20 spot treatments with this I still have a large amount left. I only use it as a spot treatment on red bumps w/o a head or after popping whiteheads. I generally leave it on for 20-40 minutes and then wash it off those specific areas I've targeted and follow with MB Drying Cream. It really seems to help calm down redness from picking and eliminate my red bumps within a day or two. I only wish it came in a more hygienic tube, but that's the deal with a lot of MB products. The price may seem steep, but it really will last you quite awhile if you only use it to spot treat. I picked "no" in regards to whether or not I'd buy this again, because I think I'd like to try out the Healing Cream next and see if it has similar powers.

Scrubs -Earth Therapeutics - Exfoliating Hydro Towel

Just got out of the tub and HAD to write a review! I've been lemming a Salux cloth, but I don't have any local Asian markets and haven't seen them anywhere else. I figured this would be along the same lines, so I grabbed one today on sale at Ulta for around $3.70. Upon opening the package, I thought it was a strange length and had an odd feel to it. A bit like my exfoliating gloves. I'm in love with this. I kind of just balled it up, squirted soap on it and scrubbed away. My skin's never felt so soft! I've told my husband (who works out in the grimey elements everyday) to try it out tonight, since he loves shower brushes/scrubs. I'll also be recommending this to my sister and her kids, since they have KP and this would probably wonderful for that.

Moisturizers -Alba Botanica - Hawaiian Aloe & Green Tea Oil Free Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5

This is the most I've spent on a moisturizer, but it does last awhile because you don't need that much. Hasn't disrupted my combo/clog-prone skin, even though cosdna.com lists it as having a few clogging/irritating ingredients. It's very light and perfect for summer, but might not do the trick on dry winter skin. I do wish it came in a pump instead of a jar for sanitary reasons. But, it smells delightful and I'll probably grab another jar when I run out.

Bronzers -Sephora - Sun Disk
rated 2 of 5
thevnilly 7/23/2011 9:02:00 PM

I've only used this once, but so far so good. It's not shimmery, comes in a huge pan for a small price (grabbed mine on sale), and is buildable and natural-looking. It even seemed to help "blur" some acne I was trying to cover up. The only small con I have about it is that it can be difficult to open. If I ever hit the pan, I would definitely consider repurchasing. *Update* Sadly I think this might be the cause of some major breakouts I've been having. Like the first reviewer, I am getting huge painful red bumps on my cheeks. This is a strange area for me and a strange type of breakout. Only thing I can think of is this product. :( It's too bad.

Lip Gloss -Sephora - Super Shimmer Lip Gloss - Rusted Rose
rated 5 of 5

I love rose colored glosses, but don't like shimmer. Even though the title is misleading, this one has no shimmer in it. It's just a nice sheer shade of rose. Feels nice and moisturizing on my lips, without being sticky. It comes in a decent size tube and smells like Coca Cola to me! Love!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Kate Walsh - Boyfriend

Just got a free sample with my Sephora purchase and I immediately regret putting it on. Smells like a mix of cheap old lady perfume and cheap mens cologne. Why is Kate Walsh making perfume anyway?

I tried this out years ago, but had the same reaction as many others. Burning, burning, and more burning. After two tries, I tossed it.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful
rated 3 of 5
thevnilly 7/13/2011 3:39:00 PM

I bought this blush because I was in need of a new pinky/coral shade and because of all the excellent reviews. This is the most I've ever spent on a blush and wasn't very pleased to be doing so. I like the natural "good for you" ingredients and pretty color, but I can't say I'm in love with this blush. The last time I wore it, my father-in-law commented on how I looked sunburned. While this could have been true, I'm afraid it's because I overdid it with the blush, which seems to be very easy to do with this one. I also don't feel that it lasts as long as it claims.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Medicated Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
thevnilly 7/13/2011 12:27:00 AM

I've been getting odd irritation on my lips off and on for the past few months. My old standbys to remedy this weren't working anymore, so I grabbed this balm today. I love the smell of clove. It reminds me of Christmas ribbon candy and clove cigarettes. So buyer beware - if you hate the smell, this isn't for you! It's already made my tight, itchy lips feel more comforted and moisturized. Even my husband can't stop using this stuff because of the lovely scent. Hopefully it'll do great things for my kisser and my hubby won't steal it! :)

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Sea Salt Mask

I'm almost certain this was the culprit of my cluster of whiteheads on my chin. I guess it's just to irritating for my skin. It's a shame too, since it seems to work for many on here.

Lip Treatments -Neosporin - Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy
rated 5 of 5
thevnilly 6/24/2011 8:10:00 PM

Great product! I had severly irritated lips from a facial mask experiment gone bad. The mask kept dripping on my lips and burned the bejeezers out of them leaving me with very bumpy, irritated, painful lips for days. I finally decided I needed to go out and find a better lip product to help heal my poor mouth. It's been one day and this stuff has helped make my lips at least 85% better already. I have no doubt that in another day or two my lips will be back to normal. The only cons are that it can give off a white sheen because of the white petrolatum, but if you use it while at home then who really cares? And while I also like the little pot, I do wonder what germs I'm leaving in it each time I use it.

Bath Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Epsom Salts
rated 5 of 5
thevnilly 6/21/2011 8:48:00 PM

I haven't had any aches or soreness, but I decided to start indulging in nightly epsom salt baths anyway. My skin is so soft when I get done soaking and sometimes I'm almost tempted to not even slather on some lotion, because I don't feel the need. Plus I like knowing that I'm getting the added boost of magnesium through my skin. I've tried it on my face as well, but I'm not sure if it's for me. When some accidentally dripped on my mouth, it burned like the dickens and it's still irritated days later. I'll stick to this for baths!

Polishes -Sinful - Aquamarine
rated 5 of 5
thevnilly 6/20/2011 9:25:00 PM

LOVE! I've found my new favorite color. Sinful Colors is one of my usual go to nail polish brands. I love the consistency of the product and the shades. Aquamarine is no exception. Creme finishes are my favorite and I love the beautiful blue color. A lot of blues can look unattractive on my light, yellow-undertoned skin, but this one just rocks!
