Hair -DevaCurl - (line of products)
sprite26 3/2/2013 7:43:00 AM
This review is for the DevaCurl towel, which I've been using for about a month. There is a noticeable difference in the smoothness of my hair and I plan to continue using this towel because I can see my hair is benefiting from it. I always seem to have problems with breakage so I'm trying to baby my hair any way I can. The material is super-absorbent without being rough, definitely cuts down on my drying time. However I would not buy this product again and here is why. One, it is entirely too small. I have to pull and stretch it and use clips to hold it in place when I wrap it around my head. Two, I saw another product called Turbie Twist for sale at Walmart for $4.98 (the Deva towel costs $12!) and it is made of the SAME gentle and absorbent material and it's large enough to easily wrap up a full head of hair. Wish I'd known about it before I shelled out $12.

Concealers -Maybelline - Cover Stick
sprite26 2/17/2013 3:32:00 AM
For a $5 drugstore product, this is excellent!! Full coverage, creamy formula, long-lasting, blends with ease. Limited shade selection (no surprise), finish is a bit powdery (barely noticeable) but no worse than I've seen from other products. Covers everything up and lasts a long time. I really like this, Recommended!!

Conditioner -Kenra - Mango Butter Moisturizer
sprite26 2/11/2013 6:27:00 PM
Gosh I just wasn't impressed with this. Results-wise, I expect a lot more from HE conditioners. Considering the price, this one was just okay. The slip was okay, the moisturizing was okay, my hair feels okay- this product is just so freaking AVERAGE. My hair type is medium/coarse, perhaps that's why this doesn't work for me. Plenty of drugstore conditioners give me better results for less money. Disappointed, will not buy again.

Polishes -Lippmann Collection - Happy Birthday
sprite26 2/10/2013 3:00:00 AM
This was my first DL polish and it's still my favorite one. Happy Birthday is made up of multi-sized rainbow glitter suspended in a clear base, and as you can imagine it's very versatile and a lot of fun to wear. The glitter is blue, red, silver, green- it looks good layered over just about anything. This color has about a million dupes and there's a reason why. It's an absolute must-have if you like glitter polishes. My only complaint about Lippmann's polishes in general is that I don't care for the silly plastic boxes the polishes come in. I always feel like I'm going to accidentally break the tabs off. But that's a minor complaint about packaging, the product itself is excellent. Lippmann is expensive, but it's always of a very high quality. Application and wear are superb, you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to this brand. As with other glitter topcoats, I feel like less-is-more and I try to apply with a light hand. I suppose you could layer this one on until you achieve opacity, but I just think it looks better as a lightly-layered topcoat. That's just my opinion. Happy Birthday is one of my favorite polishes in my whole collection and I love wearing it, highly recommended!!

Conditioner -Neutrogena - triple moisture deep recovery hair mask
sprite26 2/10/2013 2:45:00 AM
Oh this is an excellent drugstore product! It provides moisture that is on par with high-end masks and conditioners that cost much, much more than this. It gives great slip and detangles like a dream, leaves my hair positively silky all the way down to the ends. Reduces frizz, adds shine and manageability. Lovely scent and texture as well. I'm so impressed with this mask that now I want to try some of the other products from the Triple Moisture line. It's only about $6 but the container is small (6oz. jar) so you don't get a lot of product, that's my only complaint. This works beautifully, will repurchase again and again!

Skincare - Face -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - Mandelic Acid Toner
sprite26 2/9/2013 1:50:00 AM
This toner is HG!! Regular use will give a brighter and more even skin tone. Today I was surprised how faded my acne marks are, and I've only been using this for about 3 weeks. Leaves my skin refreshed and super-clean. However the scent is a little chemical-ish and this product is also a bit drying as well. But I still give it 5 lippies because it is AMAZING and fast-acting too. I am so impressed with this, I plan to buy this again when my current bottle runs out. Excellent product!

Moisturizers -Origins - Brighter by Nature SPF 35 skin tone correcting moisturizer
sprite26 2/6/2013 12:01:00 PM
Not a winner for me. I decided to try this as a potential alternative to my Clinique Even Better Moisturizer SPF20. But I didn't care for it at all. It's very greasy and yet my skin still didn't feel hydrated or moisturized if that makes any sense. And it didn't live up to its claims of brightening or making my skin tone more even. Inoffensive fragrance, okay texture and application. Did not break me out or cause irritation. In short, unimpressive and I would not buy again.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Viviscal
sprite26 2/4/2013 4:58:00 PM
I have been taking Viviscal for 5 months to help grow my hair faster and this product works. I color my hair so it's easy for me to gauge how fast my hair is growing based on how quickly my roots come in. I've always heard that half an inch of growth per month is the norm, well my hair has always grown slower than that- who knows why? After about 3 months on Viviscal I was seeing close to an inch per month in my roots. That's phenomenal for me. These supplements are expensive but I get them at a good price on Amazon, and I plan to keep buying them. I'm loving the results! As expected, this product makes ALL my hair grow faster. So in addition to having to color my hair more frequently I also have to pluck my eyebrows and shave more often too. But I don't mind because it just reminds me that my Viviscal is working. One more thing, I think this product promotes new growth as well even though that's not what I started taking it for. I'm seeing lots and lots of shorter hairs all around my hairline. At first I was worried that they were broken-off hairs, now I realize that they are actually new. Yes it's pricey and it doesn't work overnight, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Recommended!!!

Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser
sprite26 1/30/2013 12:44:00 PM
I ran out of my usual cleanser, Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming, and I had a tube of this as a potential back-up. It's definitely not as good. I found it difficult to squeeze the product out of the tube. It's heavily fragranced. Its texture is much thicker than my Clinique cleanser making it more difficult to lather up. In addition to all that, I found this product to be very drying as well. On the plus side, this cleanser is very thorough, my face felt absolutely clean and without residue. No irritation either, despite the fact that it's so strong. It's not so horrible that I won't finish up the tube but I definitely won't repurchase.

Concealers -Essence - Cover Stick
sprite26 1/29/2013 11:27:00 PM
Well you get what you pay for. This concealer doesn't cover anything, it goes on way too sheer. Doesn't blend easily, looks cakey. Limited shade selection makes it difficult to find a good color match. I feel self-conscious with this on. Just a low-quality product overall. Wouldn't buy again and don't recommend.

Treatments -Garnier - Sleek and Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment
sprite26 1/29/2013 4:43:00 AM
This product works, it does exactly what the name says- makes hair sleek and shiny. This is how effective it is: I tend to apply more product to my ends than my roots, well with this product I can literally see the difference when I do that. My ends wind up super-smooth and swingy while my roots still remain a bit frizzy. And I love the fact that it's dirt cheap, incredible value for the price! However, only 4 lippies because I think CHI Silk Infusion beats this product by a mile (but it costs a lot more). Kerastase Elixir Ultime too. I can see myself reaching for this in the future and eventually using up the whole bottle. Excellent drugstore product (gotta love those) but it's not HG.

Masks -Boscia - Bright White Mask
sprite26 1/25/2013 1:12:00 PM
Utterly useless. I'm a big fan of facial masks, especially the peel-off kind. And anything that claims to brighten or add glow, I'm all over it. But this mask did absolutely nothing for my skin, I feel like it just wasted my time. And it was so difficult to peel off! Ridiculously difficult. No fun to use and no benefits whatsoever. Terrible product, will never use again.

Eyeliner -Eyeko - Skinny Liquid Eyeliner - Black
sprite26 1/25/2013 12:35:00 PM
The only thing I liked about this eyeliner is that it was easy to use, no problems with application. But it wasn't pigmented enough, another one of those not-quite-black eyeliners. And it also smudged up my upper lids after a few hours. I just didn't like it, would not repurchase.

Mascara -Origins - Underwear for Lashes
sprite26 1/22/2013 11:51:00 PM
This lash primer is pretty good, but unfortunately it isn't anything special. I get better results with Lancome Cils Booster. The creamy texture of this product (which I really like) reminds me of Clinique's Lash Building Primer. Decent application, intensifies my mascara and makes it last without smudging. But it's a little thick, heavy even, doesn't make my lashes look as "pretty" as I would like. A perfectly fine product but I wouldn't buy it again because for the price, there are better lash primers out there.

Cleansers -DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil
sprite26 1/20/2013 6:10:00 AM
I think this is the best oil-type cleanser out there. It's super-thorough, removes all traces of makeup, and leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. Not the least bit irritating, never any issues with breakouts, this stuff is wonderful. Took one lippie off because it makes my eyes blurry, especially if my contacts are in, but it goes away after a while. Also, this must be applied to dry skin so no using it in the shower. That's a little limiting. But it's such a great product and it is one of my favorite cleansers, a definite re-purchase.
