Blush -MAC - Full of Joy

Just plain weird. This color looks nice enough in the pan, but it barely shows up on my skin. I really had to pack it on to see it. It works as a highlight color, but it definately puts off a bit of a bluish frosty cast on my NC15 skin. I bought this based on a heavy swatch on my wrist but diluted out on a blush brush, it just disappears on the skin. I will use it as a highlight color only.

Polishes -OPI - Your Web or Mine?

It's a cute color. It came in OPI's Amazing Spider-Man Mini 4 pack collection. I'll agree that I'm not sure what it has to do with Spiderman, but regardless, it's a nice peachy-pink frost. A good summer color. It went on nicely and covered well in 2 coats. As an aside, I really love OPI's mini collections. I rarely use up a bottle of nail polish and I love that I can get 4 mini bottles for the price of one full sized bottle (on Amazon anyway).

Primer/ Corrector -Too Faced - Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer

I LOVE this stuff. I had been using Lancome's La Base pro perfecting primer and was satisfied with it until I tried this one. I love how it goes on. I wear it under my Lancome mineral foundation and it keeps it from settling in my pores and looking blotchy after a few hours. I don't get oily as fast as I did with the Lancome primer either. I like how there is just enough tint to see where I put it for even distribution but not enough color to show up on my skin. Very nice product and cheaper than Lancome-- I'll re-purchase when I'm done.

Polishes -OPI - Dulce de Leche

Great color! I was looking for a nice nude to wear at work. Most of them are too yellowy for my cool toned fair skin. This one has a touch of pinky-grey and looks great. It is a bit sheer so 3 coats are required for an opaque finish. I have also used one coat and had this as a base nail color for a french manicure. Very nice, but really needs a top coat for a nice shine.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Satin Taupe

I almost didn't buy Satin Taupe. I already have Sable and was thinking that the two colors would be too similar, I went for it anyway and I'm glad I did. Sable is redder. Satin Taupe is more gray. I can use both of them without feeling like I'm creating the same look, they are different enough in hue. I like to wear this on my lid with Urban Decay's Underground eye pencil for liner and MAC's Grain just above the crease and Blanc Type under the browbone. It doesn't do as much to make my eye color pop like Sable but still, it's a nice everyday color and a good MAC staple for your eyeshadow collection.

Polishes -Orly - Royal Velvet

Interesting color. Normally, I'm not a fan of dark blue or purple polishes but I saw this color in the store and was intrigued. Still, it is a tad goth IMO-- it's very dark and looks almost black indoors. It looks great in sunlight or fluorescent light as it shifts between blue and purple. I like Orly polishes. They dry with a nice finish and last a long time. I use a base coat with dark polishes to minimize yellowing of my nail.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sable Eye Shadow

Gorgeous! I love Sable! I gave away my Naked palette to a co-worker (Yes, I gave it away! But at least I know someone will use it.) but I missed the Toasted color. Although I liked the shade Toasted , the finish was just too shimmery on me. Sable has a nice sheen but not the frosted sparkle that Toasted had on me. I use it as a lid color blended up with MAC Grain into the crease and MAC Blanc Type under the browbone or wear Grain on the lid and Sable in the crease.Versatile MAC Sable is dark enough for the crease yet light enough to look good on the lid (and I am very fair skinned). So happy I bought Sable, it's the shadow I was hoping for in UD's Toasted

Bronzers -Too Faced - Milk Chocolate Soleil

I just must be too fair for this bronzer. I haven't been able to make it work anywhere but under my cheekbones without making my face look dirty. I can live with that and make it work but the heavy chocolate smell just turns me off. I asked my husband to tell me what he thought of a sample perfume I had on and he said all he could smell was chocolate.

Mascara -MAC - Extended Play - Endlessly Black

I found this mascara to be just OK. It did stay put fairly well and wash off easily but it is definately doesn't do anything for curling or lifting my lashes. One coat pulled them out stick straight even after curling them with a lash curler and even when I re-curled them after applying the mascara, they laid out straight again. The small wand is nice for doing lower lashes but that's about it. I'll keep it to do them but I won't be re-purchasing it when I'm done.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Copperplate

I love this color! It is a nice MATTE grey color that is so hard to find these days. It does have a bit of brown to it though. I wear it with Blanc Type from lashline to eyebrow with Copperplate blended up from the crease. I use a smoke grey eyeliner on upper and lower lid and I get a subtle daytime look. I love that it is not too dark of a color and blends well. I find that it wears much better and is a tad darker with a lid primer first.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto - Waterproof

I love this mascara! It lengthens nicely and I can build it without it clumping. I always buy waterproof mascaras as I find they hold a curl better than non-waterproof formulas. Taking it off can be tricky, but I have been using baby oil as makeup remover and it comes right off.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette

After all the hype I really wanted to love this palette. The packaging is nice and the color variety is good but there are just too many shimmer shades that don't work for me at all. I don't like either of the dark grey/black shades that come with it either so they are just a waste. The shimmers are too sparklie for daytime work looks and so I only drag this palette out at night. Shortly after I purchased this palette, the LORAC Unzipped palette came out at Sephora and voila-- my HG palette! Those colors work much better with my coloring and there are more mattes to choose from. I'll continue to use my Naked palette since I paid so much for it, but I won't be repurchasing when it's done.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium

I had a coupon for this at Target and the price was right so I picked up a tube and tried it out. I didn't work for my face as the color is a bit too orange for me. It didn't go to waste however! It is a good match for the darker skin on my chest. I use this on my chest and blend up my neck before I go outside. I found that I was getting a little sunburned at my son's baseball games wearing my v neck t-shirts and this BB cream smoothes out the freckles on my chest and gives me just enough SPF to keep me from getting burned. I'm not sure I'll re-purchase when I'm finished, but I'm glad that I'm able to use this. To the reviewer above who assumes (wrongly!) that fair shades should never buy tinted moisturizer, I have two of them, one by Smashbox and one by Tarte that are good matches for my skin. I have pink tones in my facial skin and this cream has too much yellow (orange) in it. I also did not buy the wrong shade! With only two colors to choose from, Garnier BB cream is going to be a miss with a lot of wearers-- it's as simple as that!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Magnetic

I also saw this polish advertised in a magazine so when I spotted it in Target today I had to give it a try. It was about $9 I think. I bought the polish in Red-y-response although it is not red at all. It is more of a deep purple. Still, it is a pretty purple with pink waves after you use the magnet. There is a raised area on the edge of the outer cap that helps guide you as to how close to put the magnet. Just hold your finger up at eye level when you apply the magnet to avoid accidentally touching your wet polish. My manicure turned out great! I am anxious to try one of the golden colors next. I do wish that they would come out with a true red in this polish though.

Palettes -LORAC - Unzipped

I love this palette! It suits me much better than the Naked I palette which I also own. I like that there are an equal amount of matte and shimmer shades. My biggest complaint with Naked palettes is the lack of matte shades so I was glad that this palette has more. The colors lean more toward the pink/burgundy side than Naked and I love how well they blend. I always get compliments on my eyeshadow when I'm wearing this palette. I use the white shade almost every day on my brow bone no matter what kind of shadow I've got on. Pinky brown shades like these make my green eyes pop. I also like the eye shadow primer that came along with this palette much better than my old standby Urban Decay. It's creamier and seems to blend better. I'm going to buy in full size when I've used up all my other eye primers.
