Foundations -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Line Minimizing Makeup
rated 5 of 5

OK, freak that I am. This is the best drugstore foundation that I have tried. It does everything I want in a foundation:
1. Matches my skintone (Soft Ivory) & makes me look more awake.
2. Doesn't aggravate my skin and caused bumps & pimples to occur.
3. Gives my skin a flawless look without covering it up completely.
4. Doesn't dry out my skin.
5. Inexpensive.

I've tried higher ends looking for quality & I've tried products w/ less ingredients because I do try to be environmentally conscious when I can but I found what works for me now at the local drugstore.

I'm a grey-green eyed gal with skin that's at the dark end of PPP with peachy-pinky-rosy (I can't make up my mind which) cheeks and bottle blonde hair.

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing in Mythology
rated 4 of 5
orodwen 10/16/2003 12:57:00 PM

I love to see all the different views on this colour. Imagine a pale, khaki-green-taupe w/ a neutral-warm shimmer. That's Mythology on me. I think it's a great colour and use it all the time. It's a versatile shade for me and when I layer one of my BE glimmers on top of it the change in Mythology is subtle yet significant. I wish MAC vex held up on my skin the way this does but since it doesn't, Mythology will be what I use. It's really not that basic of a colour. There are hardly any colours like it anywhere, and I've looked. A big hit for me from Jane.

I'm a PPP, L'Oreal Visible Lift in Soft Ivory, greyish-greenish eyes & peachy-pink cheeks. Naturally I have medium-light beigy-brown hair but currently a bottle blonde.

Concealers -L'Oreal - AirWear ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
orodwen 9/24/2003 2:26:00 AM

I'm a slightly pink-of-neutral PPP gal with rosy, high cheekbones, deepset eyes and transluscent skin. Loreal Airwear Brightener does everything, and I mean everything, I had hoped for in a concealer and then some!

It covers my little blemishes, diminishes the shadows and circles around my eyes and basically makes me look like I have nearly perfect skin. My skin is very dry, lizard-like in fact, and so having something that doesn't dry me out more or settle into my crepey areas is paramount. I know some with dry skin think this product is so-so but I think if you use the right moisturizer it makes all the diffrence in the world (I have not tried this product without moisturizer.)

I've already repurchased this product 3x (one in one of the flesh-tones, the other two the brightener) and as long as airwear concealer/brightener is made i will continue to do so.

Lip Gloss -Trucco - All Divinyls Colors
rated 5 of 5
orodwen 9/19/2003 4:16:00 PM

Well, since this is a review for all the colours what I will say is that Trucco's Divinyls are in my top five of lipgloss lines/brands. The shine is fantastic, the colours unique & well-pigmented and the scents are not obnoxious. Oh, they last a L-O-N-G time on my lips.

I have Bad Kitty, Babydoll, Tokyo Tiger, Supermodel, Makeout Mocha, Firecracker, Sugar Sugar, Viva Vegas, Berry Bazaar II & Cyberlicious. I hope to get more if not all of the colours.

Eye Shadow -TiGi - Cyberoptics - brown 6
rated 5 of 5
orodwen 9/14/2003 3:30:00 PM

First of all let me say that I own all of the colours in the OLD Cyberoptics line and adore them. Yes, some are better than others but I think that boils down to personal preference.

Brown is one of my favourites of this line. In a nutshell this is my sunset brown: a cool-neutral medium brown (some see taupe but there's not enough grey in it to call it that) w/ warm pink shimmer which ends up looking bronze sometimes on the skin pending what angle the light hits it. But yet it's not warm at all. Maybe this complexity is part of why I love it so much. Brown is GORGEOUS and if you try any of these eyeshadows please try this one.

This is the old packaging that I'm reviewing and everyone's assessment of the packaging is correct but don't let this stop you from trying one of the best bangs for the buck in this price range. Also, for those of you who would like to know, these eyeshadows are the size of the OLD MAC eyeshadows. Sadly, these eyeshadows were reformulated when they were moved to the new packaging. I don't like the new ones nearly as much as these old ones.

Eye Shadow -TiGi - Cyberoptics - Purple 7

First of all let me say that I own all of the colours in the OLD Cyberoptics line and adore them. Yes, some are better than others but I think that boils down to personal preference.

Purple is the most sheer out of the Cyberoptics line. It's a medium-to-light iridescent purple w/ a blue flash; at least that how it looks on my skin.

Groovynub's comments on the packaging is correct but don't let that stop you from trying one of the best bangs for the buck in the mid-range prices of eyeshadow. Lastly, these eyeshadows are the size of the OLD MAC eyeshadows. Sadly, these eyeshadows were reformulated when they were moved to the new packaging. I don't like the new ones nearly as much as these old ones.

Eye Shadow -TiGi - Cyberoptics - Lime 8

First of all let me say that I own all of the colours in the OLD Cyberoptics line and adore them. Yes, some are better than others but I think that boils down to personal preference.

Lime is an iridescent, sulphurous pale green & looks amazingly well with a number of different colours. I have found that I absolutely love this with Urban Decay's X eyeshadow. This also makes a great wash over other colours.

Groovynub is correct regarding the packaging but don't let this stop you from trying one of the best bangs for the buck in its price range. The sizes are nice. Old MAC eyeshadow size. Sadly, these eyeshadows were reformulated when they were moved to the new packaging. I don't like the new ones nearly as much as these old ones.

First of all let me say that I own all of the colours in the OLD Cyberoptics line and adore them. Yes, some are better than others but I think that boils down to personal preference.

That said, my favorite way to use Blue is as a wash over other colours. Groovynub gave an accurate description even though I'm not familiar w/ Mambo itself.

Yes, the lid is a PAIN & I'd love to find a palette that these little tykes can fit in (btw, they aren't so little. They're the size of the OLD MAC eyeshadows.) Don't let the packaging scare you off, however. These are really nice eyeshadows & IMO one of the best bangs for the buck at the mid-level price range. Sadly, these eyeshadows were reformulated when they were moved to the new packaging. I don't like the new ones nearly as much as these old ones.

Lipstick -MAC - Retro Matte - Verushka
rated 4 of 5
orodwen 9/6/2003 11:15:00 PM

In a nutshell, I love this lipstick: blackened berry and very, very matte. Putting some lipbalm on beforehand then wiping it off leaves just enough emollient on the lips that Verushka doesn't drag when applied.

My FAVORITE way to wear Verushka is with Trucco's Bad Kitty Divinyl over it. It is a blackened grape gloss which looks positively striking when married to Verushka. Also, how can you beat it when you have names like "Verushka" & "Bad Kitty" on your lips?

This is not a colour for the week-hearted or timid so if I could I'd give it a 4.5 for its inability to not be worn by many people but otherwise Verushka is a fantastic matte lipstick.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Lady Bug
rated 3 of 5
orodwen 9/1/2003 1:55:00 PM

Many describe this colour as an orange-red but it doesn't show up on my lips like this. It's more of a neutral red and a bit shiny. It's a great red if you're running out during the day and want something bright but if it wears off won't have odd rings or smudges.

Lady Bug is part of MAC's lustre line. Most of the colours in this formula don't appeal to me but Lady Bug has earned a place in my red lipstick stash.

Lipstick -MAC - Lady Danger
rated 3 of 5
orodwen 9/1/2003 1:50:00 PM

I agree with Brianx on this. Lady Danger is a 1950's orange-red. It just screams colour! 8^) VidaDoll turned me onto this colour (look in her file for pics of this) and I knew I had to try it. If you like/love retro looks please grab Lady Danger while a few places still carry it.

Lipstick -Origins - Bite Your Lips®- Just Bitten Raspberry
rated 3 of 5
orodwen 9/1/2003 1:25:00 PM

I prefer this over Clinique's Black Honey which, believe it or not, looks brown on my lips.

JB Raspberry is a slightly deeper red on my lip than how they look when I come in from the cold. I have dark PPP or pale LLL skin so if you like that "come in from the cold" look give this a go. It is intense for a sheer colour and a little goes a long way so keep that in mind.

I think will will get JB strawberry if it's anything like JB raspberry. 8^)

Lipstick -Milani - Malt Mocha
rated 3 of 5
orodwen 8/28/2003 5:12:00 PM

This is a great nude for those who don't wanna spend a load. Milani's lipsticks are pretty perfumy but most of that wears off. I've recommended this to a few people but I'm not sure if it has made any rounds yet. It's a cool, brown-beige nude w/ a teensy hint of green, which if you have pigment in your lips it tones them down even more.
