Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 3 of 5
melangerehab 11/15/2012 3:35:00 PM

Oh, Diorshow. As far as price goes... I simply cannot justify spending this much for mascara. It is black goop you put on your eyelashes. Eyelash goop should not cost me an arm and a leg when most mascaras are well below ten dollars. Brand name aside, it is not a reasonable price for the quality, which is subpar. I got a small sample of this years ago, and I liked it well enough for a mascara, but it was clumpy and flakey. I separated my lashes when I needed to and wiped away fallout throughout the day, but that's a waste of time. I've tried several drugstore mascaras that either match this quality or exceed it. Not worth it, IMHO.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 3 of 5
melangerehab 11/15/2012 3:30:00 PM

Eh, this was good, but it's not great. It'll do what you expect it to do: it cleans... but you won't get amazing results with it. I would suggest using makeup remover or Vaseline if you have heavy eye makeup on because it won't get everything off. I found this cleanser to be a little bit drying, but most cleansers are, I suppose.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon #252B Nutty
rated 4 of 5

Gorgeous, versatile color, and unbeatable price. Wet 'n' Wild is very good quality for the money. Their shades are typically smooth, buttery, and pigmented. Would definitely purchase this again, though I have to say Brulee is my favorite shade.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Book of Shadows Vol. II [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
melangerehab 10/12/2012 6:34:00 PM

I still have this palette, and I do use it regularly and I do love it, but I can't help but take off a lippy because the packaging for all of the Book of Shadows palettes is TERRIBLE. The slide out packaging rather than the snap open and shut packaging is frustrating, and having all those empty spots for the eyeliners and the Primer Potion annoyed me. I depotted my shadows 'cause I hated the packaging so much. I do love the colors, aside from the Midnight Cowboy Rides Again glitterbomb, and still use them now. The quality of these shadows hasn't lasted as well as I'd like - Sphynx barely shows even with primer.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Green Tea tea-bag toner
rated 4 of 5
melangerehab 10/8/2012 5:50:00 PM

I switch between using rosewater and this (I like putting a few drops of rosewater right on the chilled teabag sometimes) and I've found that nothing has helped clear my skin up and make my skin look more radiant than my new skincare routine. I use honey to cleanse, rosewater and/or green tea teabag to tone, and cheap Neutrogena moisturizer to moisturize. The teabags really help my dark circles and they help bring down the puffiness of my obnoxiously puffy eye bags. I think it helps me with acne, too, to be honest, I haven't been breaking out at all. I would suggest caution because all products have a chance of producing negative results, but for the most part, I recommend this for all people, even those with sensitive skin. One other thing, green tea is delicious and good for you and putting more fluids into your body will help with your skin, too. :)

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 4 of 5
melangerehab 9/30/2012 8:58:00 PM

BE WARNED, if you're allergic to aspirin, don't put it on your face. If you can't ingest it don't touch it to your skin! For the rest of you, this is a nice, cheap, effective mask for when you want one. I don't do these masks often, maybe every other week or so, but it works well when combined with my daily honey mask. Doesn't have a negative effect on my skin, doesn't break me out. It tightens my skin just a little bit when it's on. Feels kinda good, actually, especially when I take it off with warm water and use it as an exfoliator. Would I buy this product again? A dollar fifty for a bottle of uncoated aspirin? Pfft, you betcha.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash
rated 4 of 5
melangerehab 9/30/2012 4:25:00 PM

Hmmm. This is a tricky one. I bought a tiny little sample size bottle of this for 99 cents and I like it, but ONLY on rare occasions. Every month, right before my red sea floweth, my face tends to get a few angry red zits just to antagonize me. To prevent that from happening, I use a teeeeeny tiny little bit of this as a preemptive measure, and that has worked out well for me. This is a strong cleanser. It is not gentle. But it helps with acne during my ultra-oily ultra-acne-prone days. It is VERY drying, so I HIGHLY recommend using lots of moisturizer afterward to keep your skin healthy. I can't speak for everyone because I'm sure lots of the reviewers here saying they use this every day are giving their own sincere accounts of this product, but I cannot say I would ever want to use this every day, or even every other day, and I wouldn't recommend that much frequent usage with it, either. It is good in moderation. Don't strip your skin with it, though.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
melangerehab 9/30/2012 4:17:00 PM

Eh. For a while I switched between this and Purpose cleanser. They do the job, but they're just... okay. My skin got oilier after a while. It's better than most I've tried, but it's not outstanding. My skin gets clean with this, but not radiant. I've been using raw honey as a cleanser - weird, I know - and it works better and has taken away a lot of my oiliness and I rarely break out now.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Coconut Oil
rated 4 of 5
melangerehab 9/27/2012 4:56:00 PM

Good for hair! Read what other folks are saying about it, I don't see the need to repeat what they're saying. Shiny, silky, soft hair, blah blah blah. I like leaving it in overnight but leaving it in for just an hour or two will help too. I will say this though: coconut oil is NOT GOOD FOR THE FACE. If you put it in your hair, avoid getting it near your hairline. You WILL break out. Break out, not "purge". You do not "purge" with coconut oil. It is extremely comedogenic. Matter of fact, take any review that says a product will make your skin "purge" with a HUGE grain of salt. It is more than likely just bad for your skin. I tried to use coconut oil as a face moisturizer and I had the worst acne I've had in years. Don't try it.

Hair Styling Tools -Goody - Spin Pin
rated 4 of 5
melangerehab 9/27/2012 4:35:00 PM

These cute little things work very well and have spectacular hold! Quick, easy. Not as messy and easy to lose and misplace as bobby pins. I'm growing out a pixie cut and my hair is at awkward lengths, so the spin pins don't hold in all my hair, but it works very well and looks cute and put together. I have thick, wavy hair, and I bought the Dark color. If you live your life with your hair in a bun, I would recommend these.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Honey
rated 5 of 5
melangerehab 9/27/2012 4:32:00 PM

My god, I can't say enough good things about honey. I've been using cheap generic brand honey (plan to upgrade to raw honey once I'm out of that, as I've heard it works better) as a face mask 15 to 20 minutes each day, morning and night. I just go on my computer and satisfy my internet addiction while I let it do the work. My breakouts are nearly gone: I used to have anywhere from 1 to 4 angry big bright red pimples on my face at any given time, and now I have PERFECT skin with no blemishes aside from an itty bitty red spot or two that lasts a few hours instead on rare occasions. I've been doing this for a month now and for the most part, I've weaned myself off of harsh cleansers. My skin is less oily and more radiant. I don't even feel the need to wear foundation anymore! I do use BB cream, but only for the SPF. This is the skin I've always wanted... I'm officially done looking for new cleansers to try. It smells good, tastes good, and yes, it's messy, but the effects are great. I have no complaints at all. Highly recommended, PROVIDED YOU ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO BEES.

Blush -NYX - Dusty Rose
rated 5 of 5
melangerehab 9/18/2012 1:41:00 AM

This is my first NYX blush, and I am very pleased! A very appropriate mauve color for fall and winter. Matte, which I love, and pigmented. I love it! I've been using just the blush and nothing else for about a week now. Now I just have to resist the urge to stock up on other NYX blushes...

Blush -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Blush & Highlighter
rated 5 of 5
melangerehab 9/18/2012 1:38:00 AM

Like a lot of the others here, I'm commenting on Autumn Catwalk. I bought this a while ago, forgot about it, and recently decided to try it again just because I don't have many blushes to choose from. Wow!! Very pretty color, very natural, blends like a dream. It looks great with any eyeshadow look for me... I'm probably gonna be lazy for a while and stick to just this.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Drugstore Rose water
rated 5 of 5
melangerehab 9/18/2012 1:34:00 AM

I have switched from a harsh and chemical skincare regimen to a more natural one - honey to cleanse, rosewater to tone, and I'm experimenting with oils for moisturizers, though I'm using my leftover Neutrogena when I'm being lazy. My skin has never looked this good. Except for my god awful hormonal pimples that come once a month, my acne is gone. Rosewater smells nice and my skin is less oily. I wish I had started using this sooner.
