Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
makeupMichelle10 8/11/2010 2:36:00 AM
I was using this for a while, and I do love the finish it gives my skin for the first hour or two, but its greasy and does not last. Actually, what does last sits on the skin and tends to settle in fine lines. This also oxidizes on my face leaving me really yellow by the fourth hour. If this foundation did not work out for you, try Shu Uemera's Architect foundation. It does everything the NARS does not do.

Liquid -Shu Uemura - Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation
makeupMichelle10 8/11/2010 2:30:00 AM
FINALLY! My search is over! I have tried so many foundations, and I was liking the NARS Sheer glow for a while, but it still was not HG worthy for me because it just sat on my skin and was greasy. HG for sure. I needed no powder touch ups, it felt natural all day, and blends like a dream. This review could be a mile long, but I will just leave it at this... I AM IN LOVE WITH SHU UEMURA'S ARCHITECT FOUNDATION. TIP!!!: If you are finding a setting powder is making the foundation look too chalky, switch to a translucent powder (like too faced prime poreless) This foundation is meant to be a semi matte finish and not touched up through out the day.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professionnel Platinum Blush Brush #49
makeupMichelle10 8/5/2010 1:12:00 AM
I have tried every blush brush under the sun, and don't get me wrong, I have loved a couple of them, but this brush beats any other brush. The 168 by mac is too stiff for me, and applies a sloppy streak of color. The 129 is amazing, but is a tad too big and not the right shape for precise application, and the 116 applies nicely but is not soft enough for me. The sephora #49 is soft, perfect size and the shape of it provides the perfect application. Mine has not shed a single hair, and to me this is one brush by Sephora that is worth the $32. Can be used for a natural contour as well because it is so soft. A harsh streak for contouring is not natural ladies. And this picks up color so well!

Polishes -Orly - Cotton Candy
makeupMichelle10 7/26/2010 4:32:00 PM
I bought this, and I give one lippie for the color, but this was the first orly nailpolsh i had ever bought. The quality for being a salon polish was terrible. The color had worn down and chipped by the end of the first day! My OPI or Illamasqua polishes would never do that to me. While im sad cuz the color is so beautiful, this will be going back and i will search for a dupe from OPI.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Ricepaper Eyeshadow
makeupMichelle10 7/25/2010 6:43:00 PM
A swapper was sweet enough to custom purchase this for me, and I can't thank her enough. I died and went to heaven after taking my 252 and packing this on the lid, inner corner, and swept the remains on my brow bone. With any light warm tan in the crease, I look so natural and glowy in the eyes. Ricepaper is now my HG eyeshadow!!

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer
makeupMichelle10 7/24/2010 3:03:00 AM
This is the only primer out of the tons I have tried that has left my skin more oily and shiney throughout the day. This primer also does nothing for my pores, other primers have given me that smooth surface so that my foundation spreads nicely, but LM has failed to impress me.

Lips -Chanel - Rouge Allure Laque Santal 77
makeupMichelle10 7/22/2010 10:25:00 PM
Yes, this is a great texture, BUT if you are going to break the wallet and get a rouge allure, get Dragon 75. The most beautiful red and unique color. Santal is just so nude, its almost invisible... and thats not worth 32 dollars!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
makeupMichelle10 7/19/2010 2:29:00 PM
AMAZING palette. Urban Decay hit the nail on the head with this, I never buy palettes from them because there will always be some shadows that are hits and misses for me. But these shadows, all of them have excellent quality, and the colors are amazing! I could give up all of my eyeshadows just to keep this one! PLEASE though, don't buy this on ebay for a ridiculous price, it is worth the wait and the great value retail price! That's kind of the point of buying a palette from UD right? More shadows for a deal!

LOVE Revlon polishes, they are amazing. This color is a great taupe because it has a slight sheen so it does not look like dull brown. LOVE!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sketch eye shadow
makeupMichelle10 7/15/2010 2:46:00 PM
Ok, If you have hazel or greenish eyes, THIS SHADOW IS A MUST! Sketch is my go to purple, even though it is more on the burgandy side, it is the right tone of purple to make my eyes look really intense. I have tried many purples that are more pink or blue toned, but they are not natural looking enough for me. If experimenting with colors, Sketch is a must, and unlike other velvets, this color is easy to apply and just the right amount of pigmentation. I am just so in LOVE with this color!!! Pairs well with: Era, Carbon(for intense night look), EXPENSIVE PINK(absolutely meant for each other), Sand & Sun, Any peach undertoned colors, Hush, Seedy Pearl, Stars n Rockets, Parfait Amour, Orb... and so on.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Happy Together
makeupMichelle10 7/11/2010 12:16:00 AM
OMG! I bought this just because it was neutral, and thought to myself that it looked like it might be boring and that it would look like any other blush. BUT, this color is amazing! If you are medium skin tone get this for sure! I can't speak for lighter or darker skintones, but this gives me warmth in my cheeks without turning red or orange and the shimmer side is the PERFECT highlighter because it is silky and not shimmery, it adds radiance! People may knock this for looking boring, but it is stunning! I am buying a back up!

Highlighters -MAC - Skinfinish-Stereo Rose
makeupMichelle10 7/10/2010 10:45:00 PM
I'm glad I got there early to try this out and purchase it. Its a great summer blush against my NC25 skin. I dont know what people are talking about with the dome being smaller, my dome is fully there...?? But I dont know what the old one was like, but I love this. Mine is not too shimmery at all, but I got to pick mine out and got the one with more veining. :-)

Blush -Illamasqua - Cream - Rude
makeupMichelle10 7/8/2010 5:32:00 PM
I'm going to make this short and to the point, this blush is great in texture, however the colors are not wearable for me. They are not as natural looking as other cream blushers. I love Josie Maran's cream blushes so much more

Eye Shadow -MAC - Bough Grey
makeupMichelle10 7/5/2010 7:16:00 PM
I don't feel this product gets enough credit or love. First off, there is no color like this in the perm collection from MAC... and this color IS pigmented, thing is though its not bright. With the other colors of lipsticks and shadows in the collection, this one was the most wearable, so i feel everyone was comparing it to the other brights. But really, this color can be paired with so many colors, blues, greens, neutrals, even black! I recommend this as a crease color, because since it is a satin color, the texture is smooth and easy to blend. All colors and textures serve different purposes, and this is not supposed to be the matte pigmented bright grey green, its supposed to be wearable grey, with an edge of dirty pewter green through it. If you blend this in between a bright and darker color, you will mesh them together beautifully. So if you are struggling with this color, try altering your technique with this shadow rather than giving it one lippie rating, and I promise you will find great results :-)
