Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Good Morning Face Serum
luba 2/7/2003 1:40:00 PM
This is a silicone based serum. It feels very oily when you put it on your face, but there's nothing in it that should make you break out. It makes my makeup last longer. BUT, this was a gift. I don't think I'd purchase this.

Mascara -Elizabeth Arden - Defining Mascara in Pure Black
luba 2/7/2003 1:35:00 PM
I loved the way this mascara looked on the woman at the Elizabeth Arden counter. Her eyelashes looked so separated and perfect. I bought this and find that it's very nice on my lashes as well. I have very long lashes but not very thick...this provides a perfect look with 2 or 3 coats.

Moisturizers -Elizabeth Arden - Good Night's Sleep
luba 2/7/2003 1:31:00 PM
I like this night cream. It's very softening and doesn't just sit on your skin. I also like that it isn't sticky. Some night creams just sit on top of my skin and then dry to a sticky finish. The smell is soothing. Doesn't smell like pure lavender oil to me at all. I'm sure there's lavender in it as it has extremely soothing properties, but there's a mixture of other scents in here. If you want TRUE lavender scent, try Aesop products.

Moisturizers -MAC - Studio Moisture Fix
luba 1/21/2003 10:37:00 AM
So far so good. This doesn't have any ingredients that should break me out, so hopefully I won't. I like this because it's a simple, unscented or very lightly scented moisturizer. It doesn't have an spf which is good if you use it at night. During the day though you have to use a foundation with some spf. It feels very nice on the skin. I have dry, acne prone skin. Taking away moisture and dehydrating the skin isn't good for acne, so this is the perfect moisturizer to use if you have dehydrated skin. Also, Estee Lauder owns MAC so they're making very similar formulas, calling them different names, and charging less for the MAC products.

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+

I like this refreshing mist. I don't know if it sets makeup like a powder would, but it definitely takes away that cakey look. It's also very nice to carry with you whenever you feel like a moisture boost.

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Smoothers Eye Liner
luba 1/16/2003 9:35:00 PM
This was the first eye liner that I started using that was good quality, yet cheap. Admittedly, I tried more expensive brands such as MAC Kohls, Lancome, and Christian Dior, but if you're looking for a good price for a quality eye liner, this is the one. I like their espresso (dark brown) and onyx (black).

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Glossimer in Glaze
luba 1/9/2003 7:38:00 PM
I love this glossimer. It's clear and shiny. Don't expect it to give you any sort of shimmer. It does give a hint of pink depending on your natural lip color. Surprised it got some negative reviews. I guess people were expecting it to be pink. Try before you buy girls!

Treatments -Biotherm - D-Stress day cream
luba 1/7/2003 12:51:00 AM
I love the smell of this product, but that's besides the point. The formula sinks right in instead of sitting on top of your skin. I use the dry skin formula in the winter and the normal/combination in the summer. It's a lightweight gel instead of a heavy cream. No comedogenic ingredients. A must! My favorite moisturizer!

Blush -Laura Mercier - Cheek Colour (powder blushes)
luba 1/5/2003 9:42:00 PM
I bought this in Opera and my sister bought Crushed Hazelnut. Both are very pretty and natural. I wanted a more pinkish shade, so I bought Opera. It doesn't make me look like a clown and was much LESS bright than the BeneTint, which was way too bright on my light skin. Crushed Hazelnut is more of a warm, peachy brown shade that is perfect for a natural look or first time blush user like my sister.

Eyeliner -MAC - Prunella eye kohl
luba 1/3/2003 10:11:00 PM
I love Mac kohls--they apply so smoothly. Prunella is a dark plum that's perfect for me because it looks very smoky black as opposed to a bright purple. It's gorgeous. My first kohl. I also have Teddy and Smolder.

This is a great color for anyone. I would imagine it to look nice on brown eyes, but I have blue eyes and it look nice on those as well. It's a bronzey brown color that glides on perfectly. Very smooth application. I used to use Cover Girl Espresso Smooth pencils, but discovered this and haven't gone back since!

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
luba 1/2/2003 10:21:00 AM
I can't believe this got some negative reviews. I also can't believe it broke anyone out because the ingredients are Sage safe. Paula's Choice website even recommends it. Anyway, this is a great tinted moisturizer. I don't like the heavy feel of foundation and don't think it's good to wear everyday, so I use this on those days. I also like the fact that it doesn't emphasize any flakes on my cheeks. Great product. Oh, and I like that it's unscented.

Liquid -Calvin Klein - Light Coverage Foundation

I don't know why this got such negative reviews. I love this foundation. It's a very light, natural looking and feeling foundation. It evens out the skintone nicely and provides a substantial amount of sunscreen. Plus it's in a pump.

Liquid -Laura Mercier - moisturizing foundation
luba 12/31/2002 4:56:00 PM
I have to say this is my favorite foundation when I want heavier coverage and a polished look for evening. The make up artist put it on me and it looks like my skin is perfect! I use the tinted moisturizer and love it for the day. She also sold me on the sponges that come in a 4-pack for $14. Apparantly they don't absorb as the cheap drug store sponges do, and therefore saves more makeup. Let's just hope this doesn't break me out.

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel
luba 12/31/2002 12:57:00 AM
This stuff is amazing. I usually use Origins Spot Remover until someone at Sephora recommended this to me. I don't know why it got such negative reviews...of course it burns on your zit! It's composed of 10% salcylic acid. You're not supposed to put it all over your face, just a dab on a pimple and it will go away in 2 days.
