So I thought this was weird when I first heard about it, but now I can see why it's an awesome idea. It took me a little while to figure out how to get the right consistency, but once I figured it out my skin felt awesome afterwards! It's so soft and wasn't dried out. I use a toner and L'oreal skin genesis pore minimizing skin re-smoother afterwards and my skin just glows! No shine, no oily mess, no dried out nightmare. The only thing I don't like about this is that it can get a little messy with all the white flakes getting everywhere.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 4 of 5
jjay7381 7/12/2009 1:47:00 PM

Colorstay is by the best liquid foundation I've found yet, and I've tried A LOT. It blends so perfectly and easily and lasts all day. You'll want to be careful if you have naturally oily skin though, because the makeup might feel heavy or your face will feel very greasy. You'll want to buy the bottle for Combination/Oily skin and using a setting powder helps a lot. Compared to MAC Studio Fix Fluid though, the Colorstay feels much less greasy and looks better for much longer. I have read reviews on this that complain about streaks and being hard to apply without scrubbing and drying out your skin. Well, I don't notice any streaking whatsoever and I've been using this stuff for over a year. I use the MAC 190 foundation brush with no problems. Also, I use the Victoria's Secret makeup remover on a cotton pad to take my makeup off before I wash my face at night and it's perfectly easy and gentle. You should always use a moisturizer, even if you're only 20 like me, so having it dry your skin out (which I don't think it does) shouldn't be an issue if you're using moisturizer.Walgreens.com says it's usually $12.99 but it's on sale right now for $7.79, so for a product just as good/better than MAC, you really can't beat this stuff.

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
rated 3 of 5
jjay7381 7/12/2009 7:48:00 AM

This always has been and always will be the best powder foundation. If you're looking for your first MAC foundation, you should definitely start with this one (if you prefer liquid foundation, Revlon Colorstay is a much much better choice than MAC). Having said that, be careful because the packaging will give you a heart attack if you ever drop it because the powder inside will shatter into a million messy pieces. Also, you MUST remove this stuff at night and be good about washing your face because this stuff will be hard on your skin. It's not really a product for people who are acne prone. I have pretty nice skin though and this gives me the most perfect coverage, even if I only lightly dust it on. The coverage is very buildable and blends extremely well. Don't bother with the sponge it comes with, you'll only get a cakey look and waste product. Definitely use a fluffy brush to apply (I use MAC's 181 mini kabuki brush). Also, I strongly recommend using a setting powder if you're going to be wearing it all day or if you're going to be somewhere particularly hot/humid.

Blush -NYX - Rouge Cream Blush - Glow
rated 5 of 5
jjay7381 7/11/2009 1:15:00 AM

New favorite blush! I love MAC powder blushes, nothing can compete with them, but as far as cream blush, NYX is amazing! I love this cream blush in both Glow and Golden. It goes on as a cream and finishes looking like a matte powder. The key is to use it carefully and sparingly. I lightly rub my finger in the pan and put three little dots up the sides of my cheeks and rub/blend it in and wow, it looks amazing! The Glow color looks intimidating in the pan, a lot like Posey from MAC, but used properly and it looks like a very soft pinkey-red flushed color, even on my fair skin. I can't rave about it enough!

Blush -MAC - On A Mission
rated 4 of 5
jjay7381 7/9/2009 5:17:00 AM

This is definitely not my favorite MAC blush, but it's a nice color and a great product. It's extremely pigmented so a very very light hand is needed with this stuff. A little goes a long way! On my C3 skin, if I'm not careful with it I wind up looking sunburned. But, if it's applied carefully it is pretty. I don't really care for the gold packaging, but then again who really cares about what the packaging looks as long as it's a good product? I wouldn't buy this color again, but I definitely don't regret buying it and hopefully it'll grow on me in time!

Blush -MAC - Beauty Powder in Eversun

Absolutely love the other Style Warriors blush. This one is just WAY too orange. This would look good on people who are already very tan though. It seems to be much more intensely pigmented than the regular MAC blushes.

Mascara -NYX - Doll Eye Mascara - Volume
rated 5 of 5
jjay7381 7/8/2009 5:22:00 PM

Wow, I think I just found my new favorite mascara!! For $6.99 this product makes my lashes super thick black. It's gorgeous! I've paid more than twice as much for majorly disappointing mascara. Be warned though, You MUST take your time with this an apply it carefully and I recommend combing your lashes out afterwards, but if you take the extra minute and a half you won't be disappointed! If you can find NYX products, I highly recommend trying this mascara out.

Eyeliner -NYX - Eye / Eyebrow Pencil * 901 * Black
rated 4 of 5
jjay7381 7/8/2009 4:45:00 PM

This is definitely one of my favorite eyeliner pencils. It's really good for getting down into the waterline. I have oily skin, especially in the summertime when it's hot but this pencil doesn't smear or smudge even after hours and hours of wear! It's very easy to build up the color and easy to remove so it really has everything I want in a pencil.

Skincare - Body -Hawaiian Tropic - Dark Tanning Oil
rated 5 of 5
jjay7381 7/6/2009 8:52:00 PM

First of all, I should say that I am NOT a frequent tanner. I live in San Diego but go to school in Oregon so when I come home I have absolutely no color. I used this today when I laid out at about 11:30 (when the sun is pretty much getting at it's most intense). After about 45 minutes, I was noticeably darker and not at all sunburnt! For $7.99 the product leaves a completely even tan. It is an oil so it feels kind of strange to slather it all over your body and even worse when you're sweating in the sun, but it has a decent smell and is very moisturizing (I know, it's an oil, go figure). Always wipe off the bottle after you use it though, because it can get kind of gross if you don't. You should also be careful how long and how often you lay out when you use this because THERE IS NO SPF IN THIS PRODUCT. But, for someone who HATES tanning, with this product I only have to lay out 2-4 times this summer to get a really amazing tan. It's definitely a summer staple for me!

This dried my skin out horribly and didn't prevent acne or really get all the excess oil and gunk out of my pores at all. Not worth getting.

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Creme Hair Remover for Face
rated 4 of 5
jjay7381 6/26/2009 8:32:00 PM

I actually like this product. I try to only use it on my upper lip and chin and I don't use it very often, but it actually works pretty well for me. That doesn't mean it works great for everyone, especially people with sensitive skin, but I like it alright. It doesn't smell great and the creme you put on afterwards kind of tingles which I don't love. It's cheap though.

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Un-petroleum Multi-Purpose Jelly
rated 5 of 5

Love it! I left it on my face around my eyes overnight and it didn't make me break out. It feels amazing, I keep it in my purse and take it around with me everywhere! I love that it's natural too. It's a little pricey, but trust me you'll get a lot of use out of it!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Créme de Miel
rated 5 of 5
jjay7381 6/26/2009 7:17:00 PM

This is a really awesome sheer eyeshadow! I use this for an all over wash or for a highlight under my brow bone, especially if I'm using browns/bronzes. It also works great for a little golden shimmer on my cheeks. I love products that are multifunctional and this is definitely one of them!
