Masks -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Carbon Mask

Wow... you know that weird human instinct where you are drawn to things that are bad for you? This mask gave me the worst burning sensation on the face and I thought I was having a severe allergic RXN. However, being brave (or just stupid) I decided to wait it out. After about 2 minutes, the burning subsided and then it just felt kinda cold. After 15 minutes, I spend another laborious 5 minutes trying to rinse myself of this gooey mask. Afterwards, I didn't notice much of a change on my skin and dismissed the mask as a trial and failure. But now, 24 hours later... I'm kinda craving it again... that burning sensation... omg.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Lovely Lily Pigment

A lovely color- sheer, pinkish lavender color with shimmer. Like others have said, it IS very sheer and makes for a gorgeous highlighter on the brow bone or on the cheeks. It's also very pretty as a base color for deeper shadows.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Tan

The name of this color is misleading because when worn as eyeshadow it looks pink. However, the texture is so silky and when dusted over blush as highlight it is marvelous.

Everything you'd want from an eyeshadow- good pigment, silky smooth application, good blending, versatility, staying power, etc. I'm on the bandwagon on this one!

Blush -Maybelline - Mineral Power Blush Gentle Pink
rated 5 of 5
itshannah 2/15/2008 4:30:00 PM

wooo! Love this! It's packaged just like Bare Escentuals powders, in the pot with the perforated divider. I just pour a little into the cap and do the swirl, tap and buff action... just like BE. It looks bright pink in the pot, but on the cheeks it's a delicate, fresh pink flush. It has cool undertones. I think it's a few bucks pricier than normal drugstore blushes, but there's a ton of product in this pot!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Motif eyeshadow

This color is super subtle. I have yellow toned skin so it hardly shows up b/c the shade just blends in with my skin color. The only time you can tell the color is in light, then you can see the irradescent pink. I think this eyeshadow would have a more noticeable effect on darker/tanned skin. For light-med skinned folks, you really have to appreciate it's subtlety. I think this makes for a nice base under other eyeshadows to give it a unique kick.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Blondie

I like everything about it! The texture, application and effects. For light skinned people this makes for a great daytime, toned down, beige smokey eye. Good by itself to wash over the entire lid, good with whitish shades to create subtle depth/contouring and good as a base w/ darker shadows. After seeing tips here, I tried it on my brows and it is works there as well! A matte-nude, light light brown color. Not the most noticeable color, but can make a natural face noticeable.

Very pretty peach shade. Gotta be careful because a lil goes a long way. It's highly pigmented and can look a bit overdone, but when gently applied the effects are awesome!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Shattered eyeshadow

Very cool choice for blue eyeshadow. Icey blue with irradescent green sheen. Applies nicely, mixes well with other shades and you can go subtle with this if you're not into "WoAH" eye makeup.

BEAUTIFUL eyeshadow! Especially paired with UD Smog Eyeliner. This eyeshadow has that hologram effect- you can see several colors at the same time, namely gold, brown, olive green.

Lips -Shiseido - The Makeup Lipgloss- Petal Pink

Awesome LG! If you're into natural looking gloss, this is perfect! Sheer pink that enhances your natural lip color, which means it goes with any makeup style. It's very moisturizing and feels silky smooth, not that suffocating varnish feeling that some thicker LG solutions can give.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Smoldering Plum
rated 5 of 5

Excellent blush. It looks really purple in the container, but when applied it looks more pink. The pigment is great, but totally not overbearing. Shimmer is barely noticeable. Because I've been a loyal NARS Orgasm fan, I will make a comparison with it- Smoldering Plum is like a cool-toned version of NARS Orgasm. That great!

Palettes -Chanel - Aqualumieres
rated 3 of 5

The top row of glosses are too metallic for me, so I use it sparingly with another clear gloss. The bottom row of 4 dry creams, however, is AWESOME as cream blush. Colors look a bit bold in the well, but when rubbed onto the cheeks w/ fingers and blended evenly they make for subtlely sweet & glowy cheeks- just make sure you get an even blend. My technique: rub clean fingertip onto color of choice, dab color onto the area on your cheek that you want to blush (I just dab, dab, dab a circle on my cheek), then blend with another clean finger. I have yet to try this palette on the eyes, so can't really say how that works. In conclusion, I'd say this palette is for the creative and adventurous.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Expressions Eyeshadow Palette - Sand Castle - 396 [DISCONTINUED]

This was an Impulse buy while grocery-shopping and gliding through the "cheapie" cosmetics isle. For a 2 dollars (!!!!), this palette is a gem! The frosty, bronzy, goldy, brownie tones are nice basic colors to fall back on for any situation- work, casual, social, etc. Application is smooth and lasting. For 2 bucks, u really can't complain.
