Polishes -L'Oreal - Jet Set Shine in Color of Hope

L'Oreal is the only drugstore brand nail polish I've had luck with. This was a total impluse buy, and I stayed up late to put it on last night :). I love it. Two coats gave me a really great color. My favorite polish is OPI by Sephora's Metro Chick, a very gray-purple color, and this, to me, looks like a warm version of that. It looks great too with my skin (very pale). At $4 you can't beat it.

Styling Products -Pantene - Medium Thick Anti Humidity Hairspray

NO! I have never been mad at a product until this one. I did my hair less than an hour ago, and it has completely fallen apart. I have NEVER had a hairspray fail so badly (and I usually buy cheap). Now my hair looks dirty and like I don't know how to use a brush. I've used light hold hairsprays that have held my hair better than this junk. Do not buy it!

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
rated 5 of 5

This is my new daily moisturizer. It works great, gives me tons of protection and leaves my skin feeling super soft. I'm very fair skinned and spent a few hours outside playing with my nieces and nephew, and had a sunburn on my chest and arms but my face and neck were fine. I never would have expected a moisturizer to provide that much protection.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover

I'm a constant product hopper, but this is one I've used for years. I use it w/ the Puff's super soft tissues to take off my eye make up. Once in awhile I'll get some irritation around my eyes, but that's only if I use it too much (like try new makeup two or three times in a day). Other than that I have no complaints and haven't found anything better - trick is to saturate the tissue, then hold it for a few seconds to remove make up.

Eye Shadow -Mary Kay - Mineral Eye Color-Granite
rated 4 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 4/18/2010 11:57:00 PM

I wish Mary Kay eyeshadows came in better packages and you didn't need to buy a compact. BUT, despite that, I LOVE this color! I was smitten the first time I put it on. Everyone always comments when I wear it on how much they like it, and it's super versatile.

This is my perfect red! I have pale skin that easily looks sickly/washed out with the wrong color. Love it, lasts a long time, looks good.

Polishes -OPI - Designer Series - DS Mystery
rated 3 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 4/18/2010 11:35:00 PM

It's a gorgeous color - when the light catches it I have a lot of fun looking at it and all flecks in it. However, it totally flaked off after like two days. I've never had a polish perform so poorly, and I wasn't even as active as I have been with other polishes. So, it's great to wear for a special occasion, but that's it. The DS series costs more, and I expected better performance from this polish.

Hair -Klorane - Dry shampoo
rated 3 of 5

It was my entry into the world of dry shampoos, and it's the best aerosol that I tried. Problem is, I have lots of long thick hair and went through the bottle really fast and felt I had to use a lot of product to get it clean, and even then it didn't feel that clean because I had to put so much in. If you have shorter hair, this might be better for you, but if you have longer hair I strongly recommend using a powder dry shampoo. Blow Faux Dry shampoo is the best powder one - it lasts longer the day you use it (sometimes I don't even need it the third day after washing) and the bottle itself is lasting me a long time (I have long, thick hair). Also, it blends into my hair and doesn't leave it looking mousy or dull.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush
rated 5 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 4/16/2010 1:57:00 PM

Just wanted to do a quick update. It has been about a year and I'm still in love. For some reason I got it in my head that I needed the "normal" brush to extra exfoliate. This was stupid, my skin got extra dry and flakey and as soon as I put a Sensative brush on I realized what was CAUSING my icky skin, lol. Within literal DAYS my skin was wonderful again. I was sitting here at work touching my face, not believing that this was actually my skin and decided to update my review. I used the body brush about a week ago on my shoulders and they're still amazingly soft, and the KP on my arms cut in half even with the inconsistent use. I'm pretty cheap and use Olay face wash and whatever body wash I have on hand, and they work just fine. Save up for this, it will really change your skin. ********************************* So, I bought this on a semi-whim, convinced that I needed it because I'm getting older and my skin isn't as great at it used to be. My skin is fair, very pale and rough. I don't wear foundation, get occasional zits on my chin, and moisturize in the mornings and occasionally at night. I have HUGE pores and TONS of blackheads on my nose, a patch on my forehead, and on my chest where I am prone to frequent breakouts. The nose and chest really bother me, so I thought I'd get this to see if it would help based on what people said. While my blackheads aren't gone, they are reduced. But what I didn't expect? HOW SOFT MY SKIN IS!! I've never let guys touch my face because the skin was so harsh and rough I was always embarrassed by it. Now, it's AMAZING. I had ankle surgery and my feet were nasty coming out of the cast- I used the body brush on them and they softened so much. I use it for gentle massage around my ankle and it has helped it feel much better. I use Dove Body Wash (yes, I spent $$ on a Clarisonic but I'm too cheap to buy expensive body wash) and it's just amazing. I've been using Olay Total Effects on my face with it, and I'm just shocked at how wonderful my skin feels. I know this is a long review, but really - it's worth it (and I'm really, really cheap). Start saving, get the Pro one so you can use it in the shower on your body. People tell me how smooth and wonderful it looks. My physical therapist is buying one just watching the change in my skin. Get it at Ulta, use it for two weeks and return it if you don't like it for your money back (but you will, you will LOVE it!)

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Blow - Faux Dry Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 4/9/2010 12:08:00 PM

Read about this on the Glamour blog and decided to give it a try - I've been using the Oscar Blandi powder, and while I like it better than aerosol dry shampoos the delivery system leaves much to be desired. Enter Blow, and it is GREAT! It lets out little mists and puffs that are really light and don't leave powder on my scalp or dump too much product at once. Far more effective than aerosols, great product, can't recommend enough.

Shampoo -Ojon - Rub-Out Dry Cleansing Powder

It smells like old lady, took a boatload of product to cut back the oil in my hair and after two uses it clogged up and no matter what I tried the nozzle wouldn't spray it again.

I was shocked at how well this stuff performed! It actually replaced my Bumble and Bumble styling lotion. Also, smells GREAT. Would totally buy again.

Lipstick -Mary Kay - Luscious Color Lipstick in Gingerbread
rated 2 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 3/21/2010 3:03:00 PM

I really like MK lipsticks, so this isn't a bag on MK lipstick but rather the color. I have very pale skin, light brown hair, dark eyes and this color looks horrible on me - totally washed out and pasty looking. I think it's a pretty color, just not for one with my coloring. If you mix it with other colors it gives a nice little boost, but that's too much work for me.

It's a pretty color, but just makes my fair skin look washed out and weird. Gave it to a friend with olive skin and it looks great on her!
