Treatments -Shiseido - White Lucent Brightening Serum

Full name: Shiseido White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mom in December 2007, and now that she's gone through the whole tube, and it didn't work a bit! Macy's charged $165 for it, and it's absolutely trash. I wish I read Paula Begoun's review earlier: "....is mostly water, slip agents, alcohol, and silicone. It contains vitamin C as ascorbic acid, but not in an amount that can impact skin discolorations. The same goes for the numerous exotic-sounding plant extracts in this product. I imagine most of them were added to make this pricey serum seem unique, but they do not lighten discolorations." CONCLUSION: ultimate garbage designed with a pretty package to waste your money. It also irritated my face with all that alcohol.
Lipstick -Paula's Choice - Soft Cream Lipstick, All Colours

I have it in a few shades, Autumn Blush (Red with hint of apricot) has the richest color and stays on the longest. My favorite is Red Carpet Red, it's good for an evening event. I don't like Celebrity Red, it's red with tints of orange anything orange just looks funny on my face. UPDATE: lasting power is disappointing. Took it down to 3 lippies.
Lipstick -Paula's Choice - Soft Cream Lipstick in Red Carpet Red

Like the other reviewer said, it has a hint of pink, which makes this red lipstick look more natural on the lips. It's an attention-grabbing color but it's not loud. Only complaint I have is staying power, it has no chance lasting through a meal.
Mascara -L'Oreal - Lash Architect Mascara [DISCONTINUED]

Lengthens a little, but it does not add any volume. If you want a natural look, this is it. But I do want to make my lashes more visible! Does not smudge or flake. This is what a standard mascara should be.
I tried a sample of Coral Gables, a medium pink with shimmery particles visible while still in the tube. Once you put it on, it looks just like an ordinary lipstick, nothing shiny or shimmery that implies a gloss like what Avon claims. The formula is not gel like advertised. Coral Gables looks natural on my lips, yet you can definitely tell I have lipstick on. Application is smooth and even. Lasting power is disappointing: eat or drink anything, and it's gone. An avereage product.
Mascara -L'Oreal - Volume Shocking Mascara [DISCONTINUED]

It's not my favorite, but it works well enough for me, because this is one of the only two mascaras that won't smudge on me (the other one is Cover Girl's Professional). Staying power is pretty good, flakes a tiny teeny little bit, but the result is more dramatic than a lot others I have used. I like it with the primer, which is what adds the volume, without it it's just a mascara that lengthens nicely. Removes super easily with regular facial wash. Overall I'm pretty satisfied!
Mascara -E.L.F. - Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara

This one holds curls well, I use it on days when I want to look like I have naturally curled lashes. Doesn't make my lashes glossy, hence I took one lippie off. The eyebrow side and the eyelash side have same formula and same brushes. Worth the buck (+shipping) I spent.
This is a pencil liner and it comes with a sharpener. It looks cheap even for $1, because the $0.99 Wet n' Wild 99 eyeliners look better than this. but since it comes with a sharpener I'm not complaining. It's soft and creamy, easy to apply, but smudges and the color doesn't last.
It's too dark for my pale skin tone, and a bit drying. The color will fade from the center, to the point that only the edge of my lips would have color left!
I have the curl brush. This is the first mascara that I wear for 8 hours without flaking/smudging/clumping! It curls my lashes too, lengthening is not dramatic but noticeable. Can be removed without makeup remover. I love it!
Lotions/ Creams -Lubriderm - Seriously Sensitive Lotion

Besides Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Moisture Gel, this is my favorite lotion. It's light weight, non-greasy and moisturizes well. Will update after using it for a month or so and see if any reaction develops.
The results are not impressive: minimal lengthening, a tiny teeny bit of curling, and a tiny bit of smudging. However, it's not as bad as the many other mascaras I have used, so I give it 3 lippies.
This product makes my eyes noticeably puffier. It's not just me, the first day I started using it, at least 2 people in the office thought I had been crying. I thought maybe I should keep using it to see effects, but tha answer is no for two weeks straight, finally roommate got concerned and asked if I had food allergy. So I stopped using it, tossed it into the garbage, and thank goodness, now my eyes are back to where they were: a bit puffy, but NOT THAT puffy.
Powder -Cover Girl - Tru Blend Powder foundation [DISCONTINUED]

So sheer, even with layering it still doesn't cover anything, but draws out all the rough spots in in my skin. I tried it with sponge, brush, moisturizer, primer...Truly disappointed.
Liquid -Paula's Choice - All Bases Covered Foundation SPF 25
goofyhusky 7/20/2007 8:00:00 PM
Coverage is light even with layering, and I think I'm allergic to it too. But it's not bad because it does provide a bit more coverage than other Paula's Choice foundations yet still disappear into your skin.
