Candles -Yankee Candles - Yankee Candles
freyasfeathers 4/23/2006 3:45:00 PM
I like Yankee Candles and buy them frequently because they are easy to get, however they are in general, not the best in scent throw and they smoke to much. I much prefer Salt City Candles, they have a stronger scent throw and burn a little cleaner. Yankee Candle does have some incredibly real smelling scents though and have a very nice varity. Also Pier One actually have some nice quality candles that have execellent scent throw at a much cheaper price. I like Yankee's room spray, because it matches the candles scent perfectly. I usually spray the room spray 1st, then light the candle, by the time the room spray wears off, the candle will help maintain the scent. With peir one, I dont need their room spray at all...the candle does it all. Perhaps it depends on the scent though( some may be stronger than others)

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Lip Butter - Mango
freyasfeathers 4/23/2006 3:36:00 PM
I bought a little tub of this (mango) few years back, figuring the scent of the the body butter was good so the lip balm was a safe bet. Wrong! Thank heavens I was still in the mall, when I opened the container...it smells just like cat urine. I didnt even have to bring it up to my nose, it was so strong. I immediately took it back thinking I got a bad tub, so I exchanged it for another one, but this time opened it up at the register.-same thing. Then the salesgirl told me, that they have a bad batch, but wasn't sure if theirs in stock was part of the recall. Well, I got my money back, and explained its too bad they didn't have a way of tracking their product, so they can take it off the self appropriately. She was proceding to take all the mango lip butter off the self. Anyway. I haven't been back since, because I feel its just too risky that they have no way of tracking their products for safety.

Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - Pure Seduction
freyasfeathers 4/23/2006 3:11:00 PM
I'm going to burst's everyone's bubble here and ruin a 100% rating, but I feel its only fair to those who are contiplating buying this. that they hear another side of the story..... Eww! I got this as a gift and though I made rave reviews to the gifter, but my lotion and body wash still sits unused. I did try them both twice to give it a fair shake, but no dice. It's still EWW! When you smell it in the bottle, it smells just like bubble gum, when you put the lotion on, it's smells exactly like Hawaiin punch! Now, I like the smell of bubble gum and fruit punch, but not to wear out in public! There is only one day I would contiplate wearing this, and that's the 4th of July, because I think it will blend it nicely with the watermelon we eat and the fact it is very summery. I would give this to my 8 year old neice, because I think she would LOVE it, however the name is "Pure Seduction" and well, that's not very age appropriate is it? I will say this though, it true to the scent for Hawiian punch, and doesn't smell too chemically, like other Hawiian punch imposters. The body wash smells like Cherry Twizzlers, which is a nice compliment to the lotion. When I did try it, I had a couple of male co-workers smell it (on me and from the bottle-and both agreed- not bad but nothing they would buy for their wife/girlfriend-too little girl for them) It's not a bad scent for a candle, or a car air freshner, and it smells an aweful lot like the bathroom air freshner they use at our local Sizzler's.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT
freyasfeathers 4/23/2006 2:46:00 PM
Finally a scent BBW makes for adult women! I'm not a big fan of BBW nor Victoria's Secrets (which are both owned by the same company)-a few of their scents are ok-not too teenagerish. Japanese Cherry Blossom seems to be the exception. I could easily imagine this scent being sold at big dept store like Macy's etc. It's much more complex and sultry for the norm at BBW. I didn't give it 5 lippies, because though complex, its perhaps maybe a little too complex and contrived. Although the end result is pleasant and I like it quite a bit-I just can't seem to get a handle on what is smells like. The packaging is pretty. I'm just happy BBW is now creating scents that don't smell like cheap fruit punch or feminine products.

Fragrances -Crabtree & Evelyn - Savannah Gardens
freyasfeathers 4/23/2006 2:15:00 PM
This has been my staple fragrance for over 3 years now. I have most of the line, lotion, body mist, shower gel powder and perfume. It has good staying power, and I usually just take the lotion on my handbag for "touchups". I get alot of compliments on this fragrance from both women and men. I usually wear it to work or church, and wear something a little more provative for the evening, or events. The scent is a warm floral, with a little bohemian flare to it. I havent run across anyone wearing in L.A. so it makes it a nice unique scent for me. I did have one gentleman who stopped me and asked me what I was wearing, because he thought the scent would be a great one for his wife.

Conditioner -Matrix - color smart Protective Luminating System Conditioner
freyasfeathers 4/3/2006 7:52:00 AM
I have thick hair with bright red highlights and this conditioner is just too lightweight. It may be ok for thinner/oily hair. The scent isnt too bad, but not great either. I was very dissapointed. Even if it was $1 a bottle I still wouldn't buy it again. John Freida does much better and is much cheaper, and smells better. I like Paul Mitchell for colored hair the best. Matrix also did not keep the color well. It still faded within 2 weeks. The shampoo isnt bad though, it lathers up well and seems to clean ok. If you have thick or dry hair, don't bother with this-you'll have to put TONS on and not rinse well to see any results, and even that will be dissapointing.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci Creme Brulee edt
freyasfeathers 4/2/2006 11:12:00 PM
I'm not too much into food scents, but I love the Creme Brulee! I usually wear this in the fall and winter, because it has a homey feel to it. I get alot of compliments on it and the lotion is very soothing. I have to reapply the perfume quite a bit, but even if I overdo it, its not overpowering.

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Lauren Style
freyasfeathers 4/2/2006 11:06:00 PM
I really like this for the office and has a pretty clean scent, that isn't "little girl" or make me smell like a pop-tart. Like RL's Tourquise though, the first 30 minutes or so, doesn't do well for me. Style at first smell like cheap hairspray, but once the "in your face alchohol" wears off, I love it. I have to reapply relatively often though.

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Pure Turquoise
freyasfeathers 4/2/2006 11:00:00 PM
This smells great in a bottle, and has a nice clean crisp scent after about an hour or so, then dissapates into nothingness after about 4 hours. It's the first hour I have to get through. For me, that first hour it smells like chemical eucalypus, but after that it sweetens up a bit and smells quite nice, I use the lotion for touch-ups during the day (which doesn't have eucalypus scent for some reason) I may purchase again, but only the lotion next time. Plus the lotion has more stayinmg power actually.

Fragrance -Ralph Lauren - Polo Blue

I absolutely LOVE this scent on men and I don't know why. When I first smelled it in a bottle, my first thought was Comet cleanser, but then I've had an opportunity to smell it on a few men, and it's fabulous. My hands down favorite.

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - Euphoria
freyasfeathers 4/2/2006 10:33:00 PM
I really love this scent, and have gotten many compliments on it. It's a heavier sensual scent, great on a more sophisticated date-not for daytime wear. It is by far my favorite right now. The bottle looks lovely, but is a pain to spray and I wind up missing my target everytime, and wind up spraying the air and then have to walk through it, which is a blessing in disguise as a little goes a LONG way. In fact since most of winds up on my cloths anyway, my laundry hamper smells so good now! It stays on cloths for DAYS! If I put in on at night (1 spray) and it does wind up on my skin, its still there in the morning. My advice? Get a sample first, and if you like buy the small bottle. I bought the big bottle and at this rate I don't think I'll ever hit the end. Or better yet, buy the lotion instead, but beware it lasts forever too! *****Edit 04/26/09*** I finally tossed this only using about a 1/4 of the bottle (what a waste). It was giving a co-worker a headache whenever I wore it. Although 1 spray will do ya, even 1 spray is just too much for some. I actually was not heartbroken to get rid of it though, it was just too heavy to wear on a regular basis. Dropped the rating to 3 for being too overwhelming.

Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit
freyasfeathers 4/2/2006 10:04:00 PM
I'm 37 and have skin that is very thin and discolors for months if I use the wrong product-even a pimple leaves a scar for 3 months! I was a little leery about this product, but needed something to exfoliate and polish, that didn't contain any seeds or scratchy matierials in it. I figured with this everything dissolves so I can go at my own pace. The first time I used it, I was very careful about putting it on because the first step it somewhat abrasive. I just used the slightess pressure and very slow circular motions. Then I put the serum on and OMG it got hot! I immediately washed it off, cause it felt like my face was burning off. No harm was done however, it fact it left my face very soft and silky. I have used it over and over with great results. If you have sensitive skin, just go real easy on the pressure you use to exfoliate, and maybe let it dissolve a little before you rub. It smells great, but it is very very messy. The results are great though and I will definately buy it again.
