Conditioner -Shi Kai - Natural Everyday Conditioner

I really like the short ingredient list and that there is no synthetic fragrance but the performance is so mediocre. It doesn't detangle well and my hair never gets very straight when I use this product. It does have amodimethicone in it for the record. It smells a little like plastic.
Cleansers -Patricia Wexler MD Dermatology - Exfoliating Cleanser
dragonballz 4/18/2009 2:05:00 AM
I bought this trying to use up a BBW gift certificate and wish I'd just left with some antibacterial hand gel...The cleanser is really more of a scrub with none of that frothy goodness I had hoped for. It doesn't spread easily and I feel like I'm tugging at my eye/upper cheek area trying to rub it onto my face. I may get new wrinkles just from that. The packaging is impractical and annoying.
Liquid -Almay - Almay Truly Lasting Color longwear makeup
dragonballz 2/17/2009 4:24:00 PM
This is a medicore foundation and regret spending almost $15 for it. I'm not thrilled with the color selection because the shades are either too light or too dark for my complexion. I would have liked a warm shade that was between Buff and Sand. I ended up going with Buff because Almay's Sand colors always turn orange on me. It is very thick in texture, doesn't blend easily and cakes into the lines under my eyes. It doesn't look matte on me but slightly dewy and the oil control is merely decent. I also dislike how Almay is trying to be sneaky with their ingredients, forcing the consumer to peel off the label just to read the list. I'm turned off by the amount of chemicals and parabens that are in the foundation and may look into more natural alternatives in the future. Ingredients:Titanium Dioxide 3.3% , Zinc Oxide 2.3% Water - Aqua , Cyclomethicone , Dimethicone , Trimethylsiloxysilicate , Butylene Glycol , Boron Nitride , PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone , HD/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer , Talc , Nylon-12 , Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone , Phenyl Trimethicone , Sodium Chloride , Trisiloxane , Hydrolyzed Rice Protein , Sweet Almond Seed Extract - Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis , Laminaria Japonica Extract , Nereocystis Luetkeana Extract , Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract , Magnesium , Potassium , Trihydroxystearin , Lemon Peel Extract - Citrus Medica Limonium , Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract , Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract , Tocopheryl Acetate , Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate , Methicone , Tribehenin , Hydrogenated Lecithin , Triethoxycaprylylsilane , Alumina , Silica , Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans , Sodium Hyaluronate , Sorbitan Sesquioleate , Palmitoyl Hydroxypropyltrimonium Amylopectin/Glyce , Sorbitol , Tetrasodium EDTA , Phenoxyethanol , Methylparaben , Ethylparaben , Propylparaben , Titanium Dioxide - CI 77891 - May Contain , Iron Oxides - CI 77491 - 77492 - 77499 - May Contain
Brows -Ulta - Ultimate Brows Shade and Shaper Pencil-Ash Blonde
dragonballz 2/17/2009 1:22:00 PM
This is the only pencil I have found that is cool-toned and light enough for my preference. I have used many shades of grey and taupe that are too dark and unnatural looking. The only thing I really dislike about this is that half of the pencil is wax which cheats you out of getting more of the color side (I don't use the wax). It is ideal for anyone wanting to have soft looking brows and it can be used with blonde or darker hair colors.
Blush -Merle Norman - Luxiva Lasting Cheekcolor in Sugar Melon

This belongs in everyone's collection. You just can't go wrong with it. It is a peachy/pink that looks flattering on different complexions and goes with many hair colors. Check it out next time you need a new blush.
Blush -Merle Norman - Luxiva Lasting Cheekcolor in Bare Blush
dragonballz 2/12/2009 12:03:00 AM
This is my favorite MN blush. The shade is actually called "Bare Blush" but I accidentally left off the end of the name in the title, so my apologies. The color is so natural looking and pretty, somewhat of a peachy pink. There is a slight shimmer but it's not that noticable. I've received so many compliments wearing this blush. Bare is a definite "go to" blush.
Eyeliner -Rimmel - Special Eyes Precision Eyeliner in Hurricane Grey
dragonballz 2/10/2009 10:06:00 PM
So far, I am pleased with this purchase. The pencil isn't as soft as Rimmel's kohl version but it does seem to outlast/outperform it IME. The color is a smokey grey and looks nice with blue eyes. I prefer to use shadow as liner under my eye but it is time consuming and I like being able to throw this on and head out the door. It looks a little smudgy after a few hours so I may not repurchase but it serves a purpose.
Eyeliner -Rimmel - Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil in Stormy Grey

I am disappointed in this product because it smudges very quickly when used on my lower lids. It's a shame because the pencil doesn't tug and the price is good. I'll use this on days when it isn't important that my makeup holds up for a long time.
This new Revlon collection is a winner and rivals Urban Decay's matte shadows. Rich Sable is a smokey, cool brown that is very versatile. I like to use it as liner, crease color, or applied as a sheer lid color. The color can range from dark to medium/light depending on how you apply it. The only complaint I have is that the shadow bed has decorative ridges in it which make brush/sponge product pickup somewhat inconsistant. Overall, this is very affordable and great quality.
My aunt bought me some of these lip balms a couple of years ago and if the formula is the same, they apply very waxy. I pretty much had to rub the product off my lips to feel comfortable again. The fragrances are nice though.
I got the itch for a matte, white eyeshadow so I picked this up at Ulta. I am pleased so far and the formula is not chalky in the least. The color is very versatile and can be used as a wash, highlighter, or to lighten up darker shades. The matte formula is much more attractive on me than the shimmery whites I have used in the past. The white can look sheer when applying with a brush or more intense using a sponge. You really can't go wrong with this.
I get good results using this product (or at least immediate gratification). My skin feels clean and soft but I dislike the strong fragrance and notice a mild sting upon application that fades as the mask dries. Dealbreakers for me.
Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Orange Essence Facial Cleanser
dragonballz 1/25/2009 1:42:00 AM
My first thought was who in their right mind wants to twist off a cap everytime they wash their face? A flip top would've been nice. That aside, the cleanser resembles a souffle of fruity orange waxiness similar to the insides of cheap Valentine's Day chocolates. The product vanished into my skin upon application. I added some more but realized that my face was starting to feel like wax museum figure. I like that it has 100% natural ingredients but I question how clean my face is after using this. UPDATE: I am using this as a hand wash now and prefer this to putting it on my face.
I am a huge fan of Jane blushes but this one just doesn't seem to measure up to my go-to shade, Babydoll. The color is somewhat drab on me and there is a little too much shimmer. I think the packaging showcases the color to look pinker than the way it actually applies which is warmer. On a good note, it's oil- free, inexpensive and provides a touch of color for days when it's not imperative that I look my best.
Eye Shadow -Almay - pure blends eyeshadow - 205 cocoa

Do not be fooled by the beautiful medium chocolate brown color you see in the package. The shade this turns to on human skin is a sheer, light taupe. You have to pack it on to really see anything which still isn't that much. I'm all for the natural ingredients and the packaging is unique but I'm very disappointed in the color. It's ok but in today's economy I cannot afford to buy colors I don't need since I don't like to return cosmetics.
