Moisturizers -Guerlain - orchidee imperiale

I won't buy, because it's hellishly expensive. But if you have the cash, and you need a beautiful moisturizer, this is it, HIGHLY recommend! This is the BEST moisturizer ever! It absorbs and doesn't leave a trace, it truly plumps up the skin, you need a small drop only, it truly brightens the skin! The lifting effect is genuinely there too. It can even be substituted as an under-eye cream, because it is rich, firming, absorbs immediately, leaving no residue, and doesn't irritate my sensitive eye. But- way too expensive for being just an excellent, exemplary, basic moisturizer. . As I'm young, I don't need to splurge at such a ludicrous level yet, for skincare, but in all honesty this is the best moisturizer I have ever tried, and i'm only speaking from the sample packets that were tossed into my bag. It's not a placebo effect because I expected nothing, and paid nothing, had never heard of this cream before either.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous
blooiejagwa 10/15/2012 1:32:00 AM
I like how black it goes on, considering all the watered-down greyish-black mascaras out there. The brush is also good cuz you paint the inner lashes in one go, rather than having to painstakingly work it in. Other than that, contrary to the reviews saying it separates lashes well, i find it makes them stick together in spikes. It can be built up to be dramatic, but not in a nice way. BTW i have naturally curly lashes, and this takes the curl out of them, even in one light coat. I can get a better effect from other mascaras, be they cheap or pricey. I spent a couple of weeks using this but it's just not good. Wouldn't recommend.

Highlighters -Guerlain - Meteorites Perles Teint Dore
blooiejagwa 10/13/2012 7:33:00 PM
edit- i realized my skin looks better without this. did a half-face comparison, with and without. i also think it's expanding (right word?) my pores slowly, though i take it off every night. but i still use it at every opportunity just because it's so luxe... Note the similarity to Reese Puffs cereal, though. . -- I love the experience (luxe packaging, violet scent, swirling the brush)--so fun and glam! But I honestly think this does very little for my skin. Very finely milled and good quality, but the end result is so-so. . The bronze effect is okay...not that healthy looking, it looks a bit greyish. It does give a soft focus effect for sure, but looks a little dull. I think my skin looks better with some of my pressed powders (Diorskin Nude, Clinique Almost powder, or even LORAC Perfectly lit luminizer) used as finishing powders, rather than this. It does make my base last longer, but so do most powders. Basically, I LOVE using this, and i love owning it, and I know that *IF* i ran out, I would repurchase in this exact colour. So, is this a recommendation? Well, if you don't mind paying for what is basically a fun ritual every day, something that doesn't really add to your looks, then yes. Otherwise no.

Primer/ Corrector -Guerlain - Meteorites Perles Light Diffusing Perfecting Primer
blooiejagwa 10/13/2012 12:28:00 PM
Edit- not erasing my negative review as it would still hold true for less sleep-deprived times. Howevr. Now that I'm a mother I reeeeeally need the boost n glow this gives me, and it does make a noticeable difference in terms of look and longevity of base m/u. The glow does shine through. So impressed that I went and bought a full size ( was using a sample before that lasted months!!) With the full size I am more generous and do 2 pumps of this. It truly makes a difference and I will repurchase! -' Very lame. I can name several products that are better, or even just mixing a bit of High Beam into your regular primer or silicone-containing moisturizer will work better. The "pearl" effect is rather frosty+powdery on skin, not glowy. Lame lame lame. No repurchase from me. Do not recommend, but the bottle is pretty. *rolls eyes* reading the positive reviews gives me interesting insight into the human tendency to self-delude... I am guilty of it too, but i guess the reviews are mainly important for those who are wondering if they should spend, whether the results are worth it- answer: no.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Blackberry
blooiejagwa 10/13/2012 3:43:00 AM
It's a beautiful colour, formula, and product. Very flattering on me & probably anyone contemplating it. Has a warm tone to it, and makes my complexion look rich, my skin more luminous, as opposed to washed out. An exact match for Guerlain's RA Vega IMO, except that one has more of a glossy finish and goes on a bit more sheer, so looks a hair brighter (which doesn't look good on me). So if you prefer a creamy/thicker finish, with a beautiful sheen that makes your lips look plumper, then you will like this better, regardless of price. When you wipe it off, it leaves a soft reddish stain, which I like.

Lipstick -Revlon - MoistureStay Lip Color

These are the best lipsticks in the history of ever, and they are discontinued. Amazing formula, great packaging, lasting power, pigmentation. I have so many HG's from this line--eg Crimson (best vamPiric red), Buff (best teracotta nude), etc. You can only get this on aeroplanes and airport duty-free, I believe.

Moisturizers -Guinot - Hydrazone Moisturizing Cream - All Skin Types
blooiejagwa 10/12/2012 4:44:00 AM
Although Guinot's Longue Vie Cellulaire is probably my HG for a moisturizer, Hydrazone is terrible. I think each time I use it, whether a sample tube, or the full jar, I have gotten clogged pores the next day. I forget this often, and do come back to it sometimes at night, mistaking it for LVC, since the packaging is the same.... And always the same result. As someone else mentioned, it is much too expensive for a no-frills cream anyway. I have normal to dry skin. I need a good hydrating cream. The spa lady praised Hydrazone as a good moisturizer for 'young skin'--honestly, I can't do the same. Longue vie cellulaire is much better, or creme blancheur (sp?) if you want some brightening.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Firecracker (Summer 2010)
blooiejagwa 10/10/2012 6:47:00 AM
First day I wore it, I got compliments. It is sheer yet brightening. The colour works very well on my skintone. Will repurchase, absolute go-to for effortless prettiness. Try it with a honey-toned blush or bronzer & winged liner--AMAZING!!

Concealers -Garnier - Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller
blooiejagwa 10/10/2012 6:40:00 AM
edit- on its own, lasting power is TERRIBLE. will not repurchase as i have to touch it up throughout the day though i set with powder. Not much to criticize about this product. 'Tis easy to use, the novelty and slight cooling effect of the application is fun, and the brightening effect is noticeable, but not over the top (i.e. you won't find this cakey). Thought I would dislike it-- scoffing at the claims, and passing it by, thinking it too gimmicky to be of any use. Only got it cuz AModelRecommends (great blogger/youtuber) demonstrated it, and it actually worked really well! Over concealer, I apply it in an upside down triangle shape--so when I blend it out, it brightens the entire under eye socket (looks more natural than a harsh horizontal stripe).

Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Soft Clean Tender Creme Cleanser
blooiejagwa 10/10/2012 4:08:00 AM
It's a good product for popping into your bag if you are travelling. However, it doesn't do a very good job of removing *heavy* makeup or grime. Multiple wipes with a face cloth will prove that. . I can get better results with using olive oil, warm washcloth, and a good cleanser after. For convenience and not drying out or irritating my skin, i rate this a 3. Doesn't irritate my eyes, either, when i use it to take off eye makeup--and they are super sensitive. However, it is expensive $$$ for what is a mediocre product (minus one point), and you need to use it multiple times to get a decent makeup removal, so I can see myself getting through this tube very fast (minus another point).

Bronzers -TheBalm - Betty-Lou Manizer
blooiejagwa 10/8/2012 11:21:00 AM
If you want a finely milled, golden-brown highlighter/bronzer in one, you will probably like this. I can see this as being rather dark for fair, fair-medium skin. The shimmer is gentle, not OTT, especially if you use a good brush to apply. The texture is smooth as butter, for a powder, and it melds well with other makeup, rather than looking caked on or powdered. Very easy to build up, should you wish to. It makes a great eyeshadow, too. I love this and it's my new go-to when i wanna look healthily tanned. It replaces blush, highlighter, and eyeshadow on lazy days, and looks nice.

Scrubs -Arbonne - Awaken Sea Salt Scrub
blooiejagwa 10/4/2012 4:37:00 AM
The scent is good, it gives a decent scrub (with some elbow grease & effort!) . The problem is that the oil residue it leaves behind, clogs pores. Thus I break out on random areas, like legs! And yes, i DO wash off the oil thoroughly, but i'm guessing it's too late by then? Perhaps it irritates upon contact. I have been using it about once weekly, for several months. Will not repurchase, do not recommend.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Resilience Lift Overnight Face & Throat Creme
blooiejagwa 10/4/2012 4:18:00 AM
edit: stopped using this and switched back to simple Nivea cream. why? because the EL ANR serum works better with the Nivea, I've found. The combo is brilliant together. With this, my skin tends to feel dry over time. . I am on an Estee Lauder kick these days. Have combined with Advanced Night Repair (which i rebought for the THIRD time yesterday), this cream works fabulously. I have normal skin, tending to dry, this replenishes it and boosts it (the look of it, at least) so beautifully. Impressed with the ingredients, I looked up the list only from the beginning to the middle, and they seem to have very beneficial effects. . The scent is kind of off-putting, it has a bit of a putrid touch to it, but the actual product is great. No pilling, it absorbs very well. New night cream. Not sure if I would repurchase, as I have some tried and tested basic creams--I am convinced serums/face oils are more efficient and effective, and can boost most any cream, so why spend a lot?

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Tiramisu
blooiejagwa 10/3/2012 6:37:00 PM
Finally made the acquaintance of a good Estee Lauder lipstick. If you read my other Estee reviews, you'll see that I DETEST the brand's lipsticks. This is a winner! . The formula is light, sheer, comfortable, does not feel cakey, thick, or annoyingly slide off. Very sheer (in a good way). You are basically getting a flattering gleam that finishes off your look, without looking overdone in the slightest. I WILL repurchase! Whew!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - One n' Only - Argan Oil Treatment
blooiejagwa 10/2/2012 5:33:00 AM
When I was getting my hair done for my wedding, the woman used this on my hair before straightening it. It left my hair smelling beautiful and apparently it protects against damage from the heat in irons. A bottle lasts a long time, it's been a year, I'm on the same bottle. Granted, I don't use it every day, though. It keeps my thin, curly hair from frizzing, yet it doesn't weight it down or look gross. Recently, one of the Fragrance board members recommended this to put on pulse points as a light fragrance oil, it works very well! Would not repurchase as it has not done anything significant for my hair.
