Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Perfection Volumizing Mascara

I so wish they sold this in a waterproof formula. This mascara is a dream to apply, it separates and magnifies my lashes so well. No clumping or anything! But I just need a waterproof mascara to hold my curl, nothing else seems to work. So sadly, like many non-waterproof mascaras, the results had diminished when I checked in the mirror later in the day. :( Too bad, this was so nice going on..
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask
amanda23 6/4/2012 3:48:00 PM
Why did I buy this? Oh yeah, because I was looking for some retail therapy. Generally I don't buy things without checking reviews or at least making sure the company has a stellar reputation. Neutrogena is hit and miss. This was a miss for me. At first I was duped by the colouring and texture, it almost seemed like I was washing my face with cake icing. Within a day or two, I noticed tiny breakouts. Another cheap cleanser that does more harm to your skin than good. I used to think that cheaping out on a cleanser was ok since you're washing it down the drain, not true ladies! One of the biggest mistakes people make is cheaping out on a cleanser. It can sabotage your entire skincare regime. Do yourself a favour and visit the higher-end section of your drugstore or go to a department store, Your skin will thank you.
Shampoo -Joico - Joico Color Endure Violet Shampoo

I used to love Shimmerlights, although it was fairly drying, I love the smell! An MUA'er recommended this to me, which I had tried in the past and admittedly, didn't give it the props it deserves. It is SO PIGMENTED and does it's job. Even if I don't leave it on for the full 3-5 minutes, my blonde still looks way brighter when I'm done. The smell is subtle and not as nostalgic as my Shimmerlights but it will suffice. This also doesn't seem to dry my hair out as much. I purchased this as well as the violet conditioner and a small sample of the K-Pak Rejuvinator at a local salon for like $20.00. Pretty good deal.
What a gorgeous shade of red. This red is deep, dark and sultry. Merle Norman used to have a shade of polish like this and it was called 'Sexy', very nice colour and a favourite for toes. I'm glad The Balm came out with their line of polishes, some of which are very nice. I'm going to try 'Strawberry Fields Forevah' next time. For a company that doesn't do polishes primarily, I am impressed. The brush is nice, fairly easy application and polish consistency and decent staying power, well as far as I can tell, only used it on my toes. :)
Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Dermaglow Retinol-Px Eye Therapy

I may or may not repurchase this product. I have been using this religiously for under a month and I do notice that the darkness underneath my eyes has diminished. I know that it takes much longer to see full results so I will update. This product has caused me no eye irritation whatsoever, which is a huge bonus and unusual for me.
I would probably purchase this again. I will update after a few more months. I am experimenting with trying to grow my eyebrows back fuller and with use of this stuff, it seems to be taking much less time than I'd anticipated. After a few weeks of use, I have so much more regrowth. My eyebrows like way fuller and darker already in a matter of weeks. I received 2 free tubes of this and after I use both I will give a final verdict. So far so good! Update: I've been using this for about a month. I can't say that the difference is dramatic as far as my lashes have grown but this has made a big difference in the growing back of my eyebrows. I am impressed.
I had my eye on this for months before purchasing. My hubby's in the military so the name caught my eye. It is a beautiful golden green. Initially, I thought it to be olive and I generally am not a fan of that shade. But it's not even quite olive, just a gorgeous, rich dark green that tends to look grey in some lights. I do love this upon the first application but I must say that I'm not impressed with the quality of Essie nailpolish. I find that it chips rather easily and I only get about one good day out of it before it starts looking subpar. I much prefer the quality of OPI. But I do love this colour, it is so unique and I've never seen a colour quite like it.
Conditioner -John Frieda - Full Repair Full Body Conditioner
amanda23 6/4/2012 3:19:00 PM
I do love this as well as the shampoo in the same line. The smell is incredible and lingers throughout the day...this leaves my hair soft, manageable and feeling much fuller and healthier. The only downside I would say is that I fly through the conditioner fairly quickly as I need to use a lot on my dammaged hair. It isn't necessarily cheap but compared to salon brands, it's affordable and reasonable. I will come back to this and have recommended it to people who love it as well!
Shampoo -John Frieda - Full Repair Full Body Shampoo

I tried this along with the accompanying shampoo and absolutely LOVE IT! This gives a nice, full lather, smells beautiful and the smell lingers, which I love. This along with the conditioner makes my hair feel fuller and healthier.
I thought I'd hit the jackpot when I purchased a purple tone-correcting shampoo for under $5.00. Sadly, I don't find this does anything at all except clean your hair. I have even tried using it for days in a row and while I admit that the brassiness to my highlights had marginally improved over a couple of days, this gives nowhere near the results of a salon-quality purple shampoo, ie: Joico Violet or Shimmerlights which are 100% more pigmented. Oh well, you get what you pay for...
Tinted Moisturizer -Unlisted Brand - Dermaglow Tinted Moisturizer
amanda23 6/4/2012 3:11:00 PM
This is the best tinted moisturizer I've ever used. It comes out white and takes on the shade of your skin somehow. The more you blend, the better coverage you acquire. I do find I need to apply powder over this as the finish is quite moisturizing, probablby a tad much for my sometimes oily skin, especially in the summer. But this feels amazingly smoothe on my skin. It has never broken me out and gives sheer coverage. It contains peptides and hyaluronic acid, sadly no SPF though. All in all, an excellent tinted moisturizer.
Dammit, I really did love this stuff, for about 4 days. I received it as a free gift so I'm not sore over the cost of it. Initially it was wonderful and I was using it as part of the oil cleansing method I just recently learned about. I thought it was miraculous, it removed all of my makeup, left my skin perfectly balanced, improved tone and seemed to reduce breakouts. On day 5 I had 2 major painful zits that I can only attribute to this since I don't ever get cystic acne. So sad about this :(
Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Dermaglow Micellar Cleanser

This is my favourite micellar cleaser, even over Bioderma. I think I love it because it contains Rosewater, which is a natural anti-bacterial agent. It is super gentle and effective and always leaves my skin clear, calm and perfectly normal and moisturized. I generally like to use this in the am because I use Lierac velour cleanser at night but this also works great to remove face makeup. (I don't use it to remove eye makeup.)
Holy crap is this stuff amazing! Initially I didn't give it much of a second glance because it looked like grease paint and I couldn't imagine it controlling my oily t-zone. But after using it, I am floored! This gives a beautiful, matte but not too matte finish and it lasts! After 10 hours, it still looks good! I am a true blue Studiofix powder foundation lover and never dreamed that I might switch to something new. I'm so stoked I tried this! I might also add that I notice 2 sets of reviews for this, the other set being rated very low. I am wondering if they maybe reformulated their product because my experience with this stuff was amazing, I couldn't imagine anyone rating this poorly. Update: I was a little disappointed to hit pan so quickly but I've found that if you scoop out the sides, it really does last much longer than you would think! I've gotten an entire months use out of digging product out of the sides! Still HG.
I believe this is the best blonde-toning shampoo out there. It is very strong and can dry out your hair or turn it purple if you use it too often but it works. And I don't care what anyone says about the smell, but I love it!
