Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom

This is a great eyeshadow. I love the formula and finish but the shade was all wrong on me when used as a highlighter. It looks too light and almost ashy (NC 35-40 here.) I think this looks great on fairer skinned ladies. :o) If my review helped you, click yes below!

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
rated 3 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 4:03:00 PM

This is one of my favorite mascaras for daytime wear as it lengthens but doesn't thicken so much so that I look like I'm wearing falsies to work. I love the formula. (I have the waterproof as well but haven't tried it yet). It doesn't flake or turn my lashes crunchy and dry, which I HATE. It also holds curl, doesn't take long to dry, doesn't make my eyes itch or water and is easy to remove. The black is also, you know, BLACK. The only con I have is the wand. It's too long and the bristles are too big (wide?) but I usually just deal with that or use a different wand to apply as I haven't found a formula that I like more than this! Another con is that it smudges under my eyes (on the sides) and I don't have watery eyes, just oily skin. EDIT: The waterproof version gives me even better results! But, it does leave my lashes stiff, smudges underneath and flakes into my eyes at the end of the day. It's also really hard to remove even with oily eye makeup remover. Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes
rated 4 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 3:55:00 PM

These are great. If you're looking for a sheer gloss with some staying power that smells and tastes divine then this is it! This is one of the only glosses I've found that I truly love (I'm a lipstick girl) and I've bought two of them (with a gift card). The only con is that they're sticky but I like that. I like that they come in a hygienic squeeze tube packaging instead of a wand (gross!) I'd probably buy them again if I'm on the hunt for a good gloss, but only at a deep discount as I can't justify the price. If my review helped you, click yes below!

Fragrances -Clinique - Happy
rated 3 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 3:47:00 PM

I tried this when it first came out (had a sample) and loved the fresh smell of citrus (mandarin, oranges, red grapefruit) but never committed to getting the full size. It's the only citrus-smelling fragrance I've ever enjoyed. I love how it smells (truly happy and fresh!) but I also find it lacks a bit of depth and sillage. Great as a daytime perfume I guess but I just wouldn't buy it because I don't think it would last. If my review helped you, click yes below!

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 5 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 3:36:00 PM

This is the first es primer I've ever bought and I haven't had to switch at all! It totally works for me on my oily eyelids which eat through anything I put on them. I used the tiniest amount (I love the squeeze tube with the tiny nozzle) on each eyelid and let it dry to a slightly powdery finish. (I've even used this under my concealer.) Eyeshadows and eyeliners don't crease, look brighter and truer to color and by the end of the day (or night..) just naturally fade ever so slightly. It's effing amazing, I haven't had to try anything else. If my review helped you, click yes below!

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
rated 3 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 3:24:00 PM

I like this for concealing on my face and think it's too heavy for under my eyes - unless I really work with it! To get it to not crease or disappear under my eyes I have to use primer and then set with powder. But it creases eventually anyway. I did manage a few times to get the combination right so it just dries to a nice powder finish but can't be bothered to anymore. My mom (in her 50s) also uses this under her eyes and likes it but it also creases on her and we're constantly blending it in during the day - which eventually just wipes off the product! Just FYI - for those who like this formula and are trying to hide their dark circles - make sure you get a color in NW instead of NC. It looks more natural. I was recommended the NC by a MAC SA and noticed it made me look GREY under the eyes but for redness on my face, its great. If my review helped you, click yes below!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
rated 4 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 3:18:00 PM

This is the first gel eyeliner I've ever bought so I have nothing to compare it to. I think it's fantastic yet pricey compared to all the cheaper options now out there. (I do have a Smashbox eyeliner palette which I'm pretty sure are supposed to be gel eyeliners but they're so awful that I don't even want to compare the two.) Anyway, I may try out some cheaper alternatives just to see if this is really worth the extra money and update my review accordingly. If my review helped you, click yes below!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 3:02:00 PM

I bought Studio Fix Fluid as one of my first non drug store foundations (as most people do I guess lol). I tried the Studio Stick first (in NC 35) and loved it but they discontinued it. (I've also tried Studio Tech.) I went on to try Studio Fix Fluid because I prefer liquid foundations. I was matched as NC 40 (it was during the summer when I was tan). I've also tried this in NC 35 (too light) and NC 37 (strangely ashy?). The color looked good in the store but I have problems with the formula. My skin is oily and it broke me out something fierce unless I thoroughly cleansed my skin. I went on to use it for years because I didn't want to try anything else. Having oily skin I noticed it didn't do much to help control the shine throughout the day. I tried it with primer underneath and it does look a bit better but feels even heavier. And with a powder on top? Forget it, I can FEEL it clogging my skin and forming pimples under the mask of heaviness. I don't think I need the coverage that this provides. It also oxidizes fast and turns orange and I don't like its powdery smell either :o( I've kept the bottle around to use as body makeup if I need to but eh, I'd definitely never buy this again nor recommend it to any friends. (I honestly think MAC make horrid foundations. If it weren't for the great color choices, I'd never look at the foundations at the MAC store.) If my review helped you, click yes below!

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
rated 2 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 11:53:00 AM

I used to think this was great when I was just getting into skin care in my teens and dealing with breakouts and oily skin. I think it's way too harsh for anyone to use on their face. I recently bought it during a trip to the States because I was looking for a cheap scrub. It's wayyy too fragranced and the walnut particles are really harsh. Maybe if the creamy part of the scrub was more moisturizing or emollient I wouldn't have had such a problem. I will say though, that it's good to get off really heavy foundation and makeup or when your face just feels dirty and oily (say, during a humid summer). But this is not my first choice for that. I ended up using it on my legs in the shower because if I used it anywhere else it just left me a bit raw. Even on my thick-skinned legs I didn't like it that much because there was salicylic acid in it and it tingled a bit too much even there, especially on my thighs. It ended up in the trash. Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 11:45:00 AM

I love this stuff. I wish the stores around where I live carried it. I love how minty fresh it feels (although some people may be allergic or sensitive to peppermint oil) on my lips, especially during the winter. I even love how if you get the tin version, it will totally melt into a liquid during a hot summer. I prefer to moisturize my lips with a good quality eye cream or face moisturizer (just a dab) and then apply this after it has sunk in. If I don't do that and my lips are dehydrated to begin with, then it won't do me any good, it's not very moisturizing and I'm okay with that. It feels more like a protective lip balm. Its waxy finish and feel are great to wear under a matte lipstick because it doesn't add any shine to your lips - they just look matte. If my review helped you, click yes below!

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 3 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 11:39:00 AM

I used to use this mask when I was in my teens and had horrible breakouts and very oily skin. I remember it was great for a while then I didn't like it. It irritated my skin and was altogether very harsh which made my skin react badly. I also didn't enjoy the scent so I've steered clear of it ever since. If my review helped you, click yes below!

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
rated 4 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 11:31:00 AM

When I bought this and started using it, I didn't know it was a powder foundation. I used it as a setting powder lol! over my MAC studio fix fluid and was wondering why I looked so cakey. I read some reviews and figured out the best way to apply this is to moisturize first then work it in well with a good buffing brush. It looks pretty good that way! I like the coverage but I think this makes me oilier faster (must be one of the ingredients?) especially on my T-zone. I'm afraid to wear this on naked skin because I remember it did break me out if I didn't cleanse thoroughly afterward. I like to wear this in the winter when it's not so hot out, or if I use this in the summer, I wear it with a primer underneath (takes a bit more time to buff it out smooth, but it works). I took off one lippie for the price (I think all MAC is overpriced) and because you have to really work with it/ingredients aren't the best. If my review helped you, click yes below!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 1 of 5
SickSexFix 12/22/2012 11:26:00 AM

Is there a word stronger than hate? If so then I stronger than hate this mascara. I don't know why this gets such high marks in all the mags. It's just a meh mascara. Cons: *Darkest color isn't very black *Brush is terrible (makes my lashes look shorter!!) *Ugly packaging (it's not vintage, it's just ugly) Pros: *Doesn't irritate my eyes *Good for a daywear, work mascara (it's better than using nothing at all) *Cheap as dirt I won't buy it again.
