Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
Lynsi01 10/1/2005 4:18:00 PM
my HG powder, how perfect could powder get? totally undetectable, but covers well!! never chalky or cakey. Took off one lippie because they put the mirror on the bottom side with the sponge, I would prefer it on the top lid.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Airflash
Lynsi01 10/1/2005 4:14:00 PM
I bought this for my wedding day. I had a mini makeover at Sephora a few weeks before and they used this. I like the idea of airbrushing at home, but after trying Era's Classified Cosmetics foundation and Sally Hansen's I was very disappointed. They both broke me out and looked just awkward. Dior's version is truly airbrush technology. It covers everything and looks like nothing. But you have this ethereal glow. I spray it on in a zigzag and press a poofy sponge (actually the one that came with Classified's) to set it. This is the first foundation I have ever been able to use without finishing powder. And it stays on alllllllllll day. I took it with to Cancun to put it up to the heat, and it performed beautifully. And even though I got tan, the color 200 still worked! I think it suits nearly every skintone! I am flawless when I wear this, period. And no breakouts! EDIT: 2/11/07 I bought this again after Sephora put it back out on their shelves. I guess Dior changed the package a little, the nozzle looks different. For some reason it doesn't seem to be working as well as it used to, it seems more cakey and dry. I'll try it without my primer and see if that helps. It could also just be my skin being difficult. EDIT: 2/18/07 OK, so apparently this foundation works best on bare skin. I had been using Clarins Modern Makeup Base with this and it got all icky looking. I quit using the MMB and it works beautifully again.

Shampoo -Got 2 Be - 2sexy - Voluptuous Volume Aero Shampoo
Lynsi01 7/18/2005 7:29:00 PM
Ok I've been using this for several days now. I've decided I really like it! The scent is very unique, different, but I like it. Let me describe my hair to you all: combination. I can get very oily at the roots, but I'm typically dry at the ends. It's color treated. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, and it's gotten to be more textured due to coloring. Near the ends my hair has a bit of a wave, but it's primarily stick straight. I had to try this stuff after staring at their ad for 4 hours. When I first went to use it, it wouldn't dispense. I was about to take it back when it suddenly burst out of the container. It still starts off dispensing slowly and then a big poof comes out. That's why I gave it a 2 on the packaging. The can doesn't rust, which is great. Being that I have a grease-prone scalp, I let my shampoo sit on my head for a few minutes before I rinse and repeat. I noticed after one lather most of my greasies were gone. By the second, I noticed my hair felt more upright and not just matted down to my head. I wish this line would have like a foaming conditioner to follow up with, as my heavier conditioner probably defeats the purpose of this shampoo. After blowdrying, I do notice a bit more volume in my hair. And it was quite shiny. I also use the styling lotion from this line, so I'm not sure which product to credit the fact that my hair seemed smoother and more touchable/play-with-able when I use it. I did get a few compliments on my hair too. I'll probably wind up picking up the mousse and stuff too. My hair doesn't really get any more greasy by the end of the day with these products, which is especially nice with the styling lotion. Usually I can't use styling products for that reason. I'd say give it a try, it's only like 6 bucks. UPDATE: 2/11/2007 I still have the first container of this stuff. I rarely ever use it. My hair has become drier and this zaps any moisture out of it.

Moisturizers -C.O. Bigelow - Extra Light Face Lotion [DISCONTINUED]
Lynsi01 2/12/2005 1:52:00 PM
all I can say is OH MY GOD! My friend Lola works at Bath and Body Works, and when they started to carry this line she got a whole bunch of it to try. She was raving about it, so I had to try it. My skin is very acne prone, it gets oily after about an hour but at the same time has bad surface dryness. I usually have to use emolliant moisturizers to alleviate the flaky patches. I tried this product along with the Clay cleanser for normal to oily skin. I had no hopes whatsoever for this. I thought it would be waaaaaay too drying. Thank God I was wrong! This stuff is amazing! It moisturizes my skin perfectly! No flakies, AND no shine! I only retouched my powder ONCE! As stated in the other member's review, it does give the feel of a primer! Hydrated, soft, yet matte! It's unbelieveable! In fact it's hard for me to stop touching my face! I've used it for only three days and the difference in my skin is phenomenal. I've gotten so many compliments, even from my little (17 year old) brother! He even wants to start using it! The only lack I see in this product is no sunscreen, but hey I can just use my bullfrog spray and be done. I gave the packaging quality a 4 because sometimes you can squeeze a bit too much out of the bottle, so a pump may be a better idea. I will not stop using this product ever!

Powder -Too Faced - Absolutely flawless
Lynsi01 1/16/2005 10:44:00 PM
this is by far my HG foundation! I've tried so many powder foundations, from chanel to clarins to benefit, stila, and mac. This by far surpasses them! First of all, the compact is the cutest damn thing and so efficient. I love the underneath storage of the sponge (which is also very high quality-and pink!) and the concealer and powder on top. I don't use the concealer much, as I'm a fan of benefit's boing. The powder, however, covers so extraordinarily I rarely ever need concealer! I only use it dry (wet just don't work). Even dusting this powder on with a fluffy brush gives the coverage of a liquid, and it is so superior to any mineral makeup in coverage. It wears well all day, never gets cakey or settles into creases. It also has a touch of mica to it, so the light reflects and gives a terrific glow that makes it appear that I don't even wear makeup. I get so many compliments whenever I wear this. It's $29.50 at sephora. The only way this product could be improved is to go ahead and nix the concealer and give more powder! I maybe have to buy 2 or 3 compacts a year. Please, at least go to sephora and test this product against any other powder foundation and you will be a believer!

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
Lynsi01 9/12/2004 7:40:00 PM
wow, I have to say this is a truly unique foundation! I bought it in 1Light, Porcelain Ivory or something like that...anywho, I can't believe how incredibly lightweight this foundation is! I know it's a mousse and all but sheesh! I used a foundation brush to apply and I felt like absolutely nothing was going on my face. But it really covered well! Totally covers redness, had to dab a bit extra over blemishes. A small bit goes a loooooong way. I can see this jar lasting a very long time. It is very matte, almost a tad drying. It emphasized some flaky spots I have, but that was expected. Color was actually great too, not to pasty or dark for my difficult skintone. Will definitely repurchase. **update 1/22/05** this foundation has been terrible about caking up during the day and made me look so flaky, so I have discontinued use of it.

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
Lynsi01 5/31/2004 11:23:00 PM
First thing that surprised me is that it smells really good! SO even mentioned something about the scent. As far as an anti-acne product, it does work really well to shrink a cystic pimple in two days or so. Reminds me of a Biore blemish bomb but smartly packaged in a tube instead of a big packet that makes you waste a lot. If you put too much on it kinda peels off. My only complaint was that it surprisingly enough did dry out my skin; I had flakies for a few days. So for me this is definitely a spot treatment. I think it definitely works better then products like Zapzyt and other creams.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Cleansing Pads
Lynsi01 5/11/2004 8:26:00 PM
Well I actually got a sample of this product in my Allure magazine. I've trusted Aveeno for body care for a long time (it's the only thing that works on my excema), so I decided to give it a try. The packaging says it's noncomedogenic and I couldn't find anything that would be irritating in the ingredients. There's two sides to these pads-a very soft smooth one for removing makeup, and a textured, border-line scratchy side for exfoliating and deeper cleansing. The soft side worked wonderfully to remove even my She-Laq'ed eyeshadow and mascara. I massaged the textured side for a while longer on my skin than I did the softer side. I was amazed to see that my skin felt softer and smoother than even after using I-Skin. I like the idea that the pads are pre-moistened, too, and even though you're supposed to use them on a wet face, you could use them whenever, even throw a few in a ziplock baggy. There is a fragrance to the pads but it's not unpleasant or strong. My temperamental skin didn't feel as if it would crack after using it, either. So far no new breakouts either. 28 pads come in the jar (which, in my opinion, is a little too big for the product, hoping they'll change that later) which is an odd number, why not make it an even 30? But at $6 a jar at walmart (plus a $1 off coupon I had) I can't complain much. The day after I started using the pads I think I've had the best skin day I've had in a long time. I really could tell a big difference. I'll be buying these again soon! EDIT: got serious breakouts after about 1 week of using these. I think the texture really irritated my skin. I quit using them.

Moisturizers -Lancome - Impactive Multi-performance silkening moisturizer
Lynsi01 4/25/2003 11:17:00 AM
I don't see why other people hate this stuff!!!! It's my hg moisturizer! I started using it while on accutane and it really helped. I just switched to the lotion from the cream since summer's coming. It makes my skin silky soft and satiny, and it REALLY evened out my skin tone!! It's made my pores appear smaller and my skin just radiates. I love this stuff....I'm sorry no one else had my positive experience.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint - All
Lynsi01 4/1/2003 10:25:00 AM
I picked this up the other day in the shade Infamous, an extremely bright purple (mah signature color). I applied it this morning with my fingertip across the lid, but had to use a little brush to get into the corners. One downfall of this product is you have to work quickly to blend evenly because it dries rather fast. However, once it dries, it is ON there for GOOD. After about 30 minutes my eyelids accumulate oil and my shadow creases unless I use she-laq with it. But not with this stuff!! I checked it after an hour and no creasing whatsoever. I even rubbed with my finger, and NOTHING CAME OFF!!!! So A++++ for staying power and color. The packaging is a simple black tube, which can kinda allow some oozing. I close the cap very very tightly, and store it in its box if I have to take it with me so there's less chance of my other makeup squeezing it. Another plus about it is it takes very little product to go an extraordinarily long way.

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Fast and Flawless Airbrush foundation [DISCONTINUED]
Lynsi01 3/10/2003 1:11:00 AM
I picked this up at walgreens on sale for around $5. It's a knock off of Era Spray Foundation, $65. It comes in an aerosol can, 1.5 oz. I chose Creamy Natural for my shade (stila c). I spray it directly on my face in two quick zigzag motions and then press it in with a sponge. It covers everything but looks like nothing. It's very buildable, you can spray it in your palm and it will thicken to be a concealer. I'm ditching all my bottles and creams and sticking with this :) **update** it's been getting harder and harder to blend, and I have experienced break outs. sticking to too faced's powder.

Skincare - Face -Clearasil - Stay Clear Acne Wash
Lynsi01 2/28/2003 8:39:00 AM
When I used to have active acne, I loved this stuff. I used ProActiv for years, and this cleanser is a lot like theirs. I don't know why the other girl said she uses it because she's allergic to benzoyl peroxide because this has it in it. Helped to get me clear and I loved the texture, not quite as gritty as the ProActiv one, but not so sparse that it felt like it wasn't doing anything.

Powder -Clarins - Hydra-Balance Powder Foundation
Lynsi01 2/21/2003 12:09:00 PM
I was all excited because I heard nothing but good reviews about this new powder foundation. So I took my bday money to nordstroms to pick it up. The color matched perfectly, however, I tried to touch up a few hours after applicaton and it got all cakey and clotty! I was so distraught. The compact itself is nice (minus it being red, I don't like red, but you can't win 'em all :) )and came inside a small drawstring red pouch, along with seperate storage for the sponge so it doesn't sit there on the powder. The sponge is double sided, one being "smooth" and the other "velour." You're supposed to use the smooth side when you first apply it, and the velour side for touchups. This just wasn't a winner for me. I'm taking it back this weekend and returning to my Too Faced Absolutely Flawless :)

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Nature's Therapy Unfrizz Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner
Lynsi01 12/17/2002 12:24:00 AM
I work at sallys, so when we get new stuff I always try it. I have fine, oil prone roots with frizzy, fried color treated ends. I am SO hooked on the Taming Cream!!! I can actually run my fingers through my hair with it! No leave in conditioner ever made my hair like this without making it ga-reasy. Can't rave enough about it!!
