Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Intense Relief Hand Cream
Lonz 7/13/2010 6:43:00 PM
Can't imagine life without this stuff. It sinks in completely, leaving no trace of its existence, besides a velvety softness. HG stuff. The tube is on the chubby side, making it a bit impractical for small bags, but its not a dealbreaker by any stretch of the imagination.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 109 Small Contour Brush
Lonz 7/13/2010 6:11:00 PM
This is my Baby-Kabuki-on-a-Stick. Wonderfully soft, yet dense enough to buff. I use it to apply my loose mineral foundation. Its small enough to apply and buff properly around the nose and around my eye contours. I've tried a normal Kabuki and just don't seem to have the same control this offers me. Wouldn't use anything else!

Crème -L'Oreal - Matte Morphose
Lonz 7/13/2010 6:07:00 PM
I really like the texture of this stuff. It feels a little like a silicone primer when you apply it, and goes on smoothly. The colour match was fabulous, and the finish was smooth, poreless, and luminously matte, as promised. It feels wonderfully comfortable, not heavy at all. I think if I had a different skin type, I would adore this, but unfortunately I found that it accentuates flaky bits and tends to settle in fine lines.

I have no idea why I keep trying more expensive salon products. Nothing else has ever made my difficult hair this soft, shiny and tangle free. No reason to splurge when the 'steal' option is this good!

Lipstick -MAC - Retro Matte - Ruby Woo
Lonz 7/12/2010 9:17:00 PM
My Facebook status for today is: Ruby Woo, how I love you! <3 I can't sing the praises of this lipstick highly enough. If you've been looking for 'The Perfect Red'™ for the longest time and you haven't tried this yet, do yourself a favour and go for it. Its one of Dita's favourites! Reasons to love it: 1. Once its on, it stays on! Which leads to ... 2. It doesn't come off on your boyfriend/lover/husband/cat 3. Yes ladies, you can actually drink from a bottle with this stuff on, and not smudge everywhere 4. Strangers in restaurants will admire you as you stay effortlessly glam while devouring sushi! 5. This colour, more than any other (with the possible exception of electric fluoro pink) will make people literally stare at you. But in a good way. :) 6. There is absolutely nothing slutty about the matte-ness of this. (Although, feel free to sex it up a notch with some clear lipglass. Hot!) I just love it. My makeup history is defined into two distinct categories, before and after Ruby Woo. I'll adore it forever!

Sunscreen -Dermalogica - Solar Defence Booster SPF30

I absolutely adore most of the Dermalogica line, which is why I was devastated that I broke out all over after using this. The first time it happened, I thought maybe it was just coincidence, but the second time round, there's no denying. This just doesn't suit my skin. Such a pity, I really love the formula! :((

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

This just didn't work for me. Its accentuates my lines and makes my face feel dry and tight. It works beautifully for many of my friends and looks absolutely flawless, but on my dehydrated skin its a definite no-no.

Blush -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Blush in Petal
Lonz 7/12/2010 3:00:00 PM
I use this every day. I have very fair skin, and the subtle hint of shimmer in this highlights my cheekbones perfectly. A touch on the apples of my cheeks, and I look perfectly flushed without being 'overdone'. Love the colour, although I doubt very much it would show up on darker skin tones. This is a very sheer blush, and layering on more of it will probably just result in more shine as opposed to more intense colour. But still, its my favourite blush and I will repurchase if it doesn't get discontinued before I finish mine.

Blush -Napoleon Perdis - Color Disc
Lonz 7/11/2010 7:24:00 PM
These things are addictive. I have one is almost every colour I think! fabulous colour payoff when applied dry. Blends beautifully. Ridiculously pigmented and bright. Perfect opaque, dense colour application when used with a dampened brush. Also, I've noticed that using a damp brush doesn't make the rest of the pan clump or become 'solid' like my MAC ones occasionally do. I haven't used one of these up yet as the container is very generous for the price, but if I ever finished a colour I would definitely repurchase. Love them!

Eye Shadow -Napoleon Perdis - Sparkle Dust
Lonz 7/11/2010 7:19:00 PM
A wee bit messy to apply, but so totally worth it! Beautiful colours in jewel-tones. I always get compliments whenever I wear one of these. The packaging is difficult to manage, but I can't really think how to improve it. Its the nature of the beast I guess! Really like the NP dust - the glitter in many of my beloved MAC Pigments are not quite as fine.

Cleansers -Clarins - Gentle Foaming Cleanser for Dry or Sensitive Skin
Lonz 7/11/2010 7:13:00 PM
This smells delicious, and I really like the texture. It does indeed clean your skin very well, but although it didn't irritate my skin at all, I didn't find it as moisturizing as I would have liked. My skin still felt a little tight after use. It feels a bit like a mousse, but I wouldn't say it foamed, exactly. For the price, I feel there are better cleansers out there. I use this as an AM cleanser now, to remove the last traces of my nighttime treatments. I would probably purchase it again if I got a BOGO deal, but I wouldn't pay normal full price for this. Pity. It really does smell delish!

Skincare - Face -Avene - Thermal Water
Lonz 7/11/2010 7:05:00 PM
I'm a huge fan of spritzing products, because I work in a heavily climate controlled environment. I've tried several and although I like a few others, this is my HG facial mist. The pressurized container dispenses a micro-fine mist that doesn't mess up my hair of clothes. It has no detectable fragrance, and is absorbed almost instantly. It calms flushing cheeks, and sets mineral makeup into a natural looking veil. Another thing to love is the three sizes avalable. A tiny handbag-sized 50ml can, a medium 150ml can for my desk at the office, and a huge salon-sized one, which I keep at home.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Barrier Repair
Lonz 7/11/2010 6:56:00 PM
I can't use this alone unfortunately, as I feel my skin needs a little more moisture than this offers. However, this makes an excellent primer if your skin is dry or flaky. It allows your foundation to glide on. Love the delicious velvety feel. Absolutely no fragrance, which is a plus. It is rather expensive, but you only need to use a miniscule amount of it. Also good for touching up dry pathes during the day, as it doesn't shift your foundation, and leaves a matte finish. Amazing stuff!

Cleansers -MAC - Cleanse Off Oil
Lonz 7/11/2010 6:41:00 PM
Removing my makeup with this stuff makes me feel like I'm treating my skin, instead of cleansing. It removes absolutely *everything* off your skin without stripping it. Water emulsifies the oil into a milky liquid, which rinses away completely. The plastic bottle looks so modern, and the pump makes dispensing the correct amount a breeze. Love it, this has become a beauty staple.

Treatments -Clarins - Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil
Lonz 7/11/2010 6:36:00 PM
If you have sensitive, flaky and dehydrated skin and you make only one expensive skincare purchase this winter, this should be it. Wake to satin-smooth, gorgeously hydrated skin. Beauty in a bottle! On the downside: Worst packaging in the world. I use a sterilized dropper every night to get some from the bottle, I would have a mini-heart attack if I spilled this.
