Lipstick -Revlon - Moisturous Lipstick- Tangerine Burst
Diamonds 1/31/2006 8:16:00 PM
I agree with alot of people here! I enjoy this Revlon lipstick line-I haven't really bought much of Revlon in recent years (I guess since they seem to try to attract an older age bracket, I've stuck with L'oreal) but, I do like this line. (And of course, as someone mentioned, it is being discontinued.)
As others have mentioned, this is a blood orange color-which is a GREAT way to describe it. I was trying to find another way to describe it, but this is a perfect description-and it does have a metallic sheen to it, but not overpowering in any way!
I like gel-based formulas for lipstick. This one is very silicone feeling on your lips, not heavy at all, and the colors are great IMO. I can't remember where I just bought my colors for some reason, but they were on sale due to the discontinued-ness :)
As others have mentioned, I really don't think this would work for someone with a fair skin tone, or a pinky tone to their skin. Warm skin only, I would say. It is just so warm toned that it would probably end up looking garish on fair skin. If you can carry off an orange shirt, this would work for you. I have warm golden skin and green eyes, and it does help my eyes "pop" in combo with a gold flecked eye shadow...very pretty!
I am sad this line is leaving us. It is actually very very good, and there are some nice color choices for EVERYONE! :)

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Plump Lip Gloss in Berry Rouge
Diamonds 1/31/2006 8:05:00 PM
This is a review for Mega Plump lip gloss by Wet n' Wild. I believe I am reviewing the same color, it is #587, it is pink, but I am not sure if this is the same color... Anyway, I can review the product! This is an OK lipgloss. The texture is not fluid like Vaseline, or thick like Lancome Juicy Tubes/L'Oreal (for example) it is kind of in the middle road of thickness.
Next-The lip "plumping" For those wanting to save cash and purchase this thinking it is just as good as DuWop's Lip Venom or Too Faced Lip Injection-It really isn't in the same league. I hardly feel anything, if I feel anything at all! I can't tell if I am trying so hard to feel a tingle that I am making one up! It does smell exactly like DuWop's Lip Venom-spicy Big Red-cinnamony smell...it probably contains cinnamon oils, but they don't tingle near as much as DuWop's!
As for the color I have (sorry I dumped the outside before I could check!) it is a very pretty medium pink with gold-ish flecks in the bottle. It is kind of a clear pink on, which is nice on days where you don't want alot of "flash."
The packaging is cute-kind of like a sand timer that you would use in a board game-it can stand up by itself on a flat surface, which is cute.
Overall, I am not sure I would repurchase. I said yes, but only for the nice color choices. It doesn't plump IMO, I don't feel hardly anything. If you are looking for lip plumpers that feel like they do something, try DuWop Lip Venom or Too Faced's Lip Injection. I was really really hoping that this would be a great (and CHEAPER) alternative to DuWop/Too Faced, but it wasn't a hidden find!

Conditioner -Pantene - Pantene Restoratives Anti-Breakage Conditioner
Diamonds 1/30/2006 9:06:00 PM
I would ABSOLUTELY buy this product again!!! I agree wholeheartedly with ALL of the reviewers so far. I just wanted to add another "heck yes!" to this vote, especially since this is a brand new product. I love it. I already know I will repurchase, just after one use. As lanae said below, it sinks into your hair and smells great-kind of a light, warm floral-y type smell. It really does SINK into your hair, unlike other conditioners I have tried that just kind of sit on top of the hair and never quite seem to be "working" so to speak! The only other conditioners that I have found to work just as well are Redken All Soft (as mentioned) Joico K-Pac and perhaps Blonde Expressions Conditioner as well. I usually DON'T like Pantene either-I have found it to be too heavy in the past (like everyone has said) but this product really is a gem IMO. I like the blue color too-I don't know why I like it, but it makes the conditioner interesting to look at! I hope the claim about breakage actually holds true (or sort of true) I have long hair and want it to be longer, and would love it if this stuff let me hold on to as much strong hair as possible without having to cut off the straglers!!! Honestly, this works great on coarse, thick, kinky-curly hair (if this applies to you, try this product!!!)

Cleansers -Basis - Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash
Diamonds 1/30/2006 8:10:00 PM
I have been blessed with pretty even skin tone and blemish free skin (in general) but, I really do like this product! It doesn't make me break out in any way, and smells nice-like fresh grass, which is also important because sometimes you get SO SICK of the smell that you never want to use the product again! I can't always find this everywhere, but it is probably my top cleanser as of now. I also like Dove's new cleanser, but it is thicker and is a cream based cleanser. This cleanser is great in the summer, and good in the winter, if you have oily skin and don't need to have an extra thick cleanser in the winter... I always feel "fresh" and clean after I have used this product...A tip I have is to keep the product on your face for a bit of time (not alot) but enough for the product to clean your skin. My sister rushes through the cleansing process and her skin looks oily afterwards. It is a dumb tip, but sometimes it is tempting to rush through cleaning your skin if you are in a hurry, but I have to remind myself to do that too!

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - morning glow spf 15
Diamonds 1/23/2006 7:05:00 PM
Ew. I agree with the negative reviews. I have this product, and I use it very sparingly because I just want to finish the bottle slowly and then throw it away! (I have a hard time throwing away full bottles unless it totally sucks. This product doesn't totally "suck" as I so eloquently put it, but it is not my favorite. It is greasy as mentioned, it smells funny (hard to describe, just not a fresh clean smell as one would expect from "Morning Burst," very cold-cream thick type smell) It doesn't settle in my skin, as was already mentioned by another lovely gal-it seems to sit on the skin and not really "drink" it in as I have felt other moisturizers do (such as Lancome gel moisturizers or L'oreal) This is a so so product. I really don't see a reason to recommend it to anyone for any particular reason. In the winter, it is too light, it makes my skin flake and be really dry, and it is too thick in the summertime to be of use... I enjoy Morning Burst Cleanser, it is a fresh feeling, but I don't feel any bit re-energized by the moisturizer!! :)

Skincare - Body -Hawaiian Tropic - Dark Tanning Oil
Diamonds 11/13/2005 10:30:00 PM
Love! Classic product for great tanning or for just moisturizing like everyone else has said...it is a great product! It reminds me of my mom..she used to use it alot when I was a kid, and now I use it...kind of like a family tradition of sorts! Anyway, this product is pretty self explanatory. Tropical oils, great sheen on skin, and for those who tan, you never feel 'baked' or dry... Great product!! Always buy over and over!

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Lip Injection
Diamonds 11/13/2005 10:10:00 PM
Darn...I was hoping I would like this more than DuWop Lip Venom (which I do love though!) I read some of the reviews, and was hoping it was even better. It could be that I like the cinnamon smell and spiciness of the DuWop Lip Venom, and for me, that seems to work a bit more, and has more of a KICK! Lip Injection is NOT BAD at all...but on me, it feels like there is a ghost tickling my lips with a feather for many hours after applying the product...very weird feeling. The Lip Venom is a lot more tingly to me than Lip Injection... I guess it is a toss up for anyone deciding between these two (as they were my 'forerunners' so to speak!) I think I will go back to DuWop because it works better for me, and is slightly cheaper, and my lips don't feel like they were agitated by a feather all day! (hard to explain, just kind of lightly annoyed lips I guess!) Best advice: Try them both at a store, like Nordstrom or Sephora or elsewhere...try one, walk around for a while, and either go home and come back another day, or wipe the one off and try another...as it seems like it could go either way with these products!

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Lip Venom
Diamonds 11/10/2005 5:07:00 PM
Wow! I am genuinely surprised at the 'findings' on this one! I really LOVE this product! It does have a BITE, that is for sure, VERY cinnamon-y, like a stick of Big Red. I love this product because it doesn't make my lips look out of control, just more pouty. I think I would feel weird if my lips actually were HUGE and they wouldn't feel like your own lips...This product makes your lips your own, only better! I really think this stuff is great, and I miss the feeling of the spicy cinnamon on my lips when I am out of the product! I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a lip plumper, whether or not you will like this product...I think the price is fairly reasonable (compared to other brands!) and if you can stand a spicy feeling, this may be the product for you...if you would rather skip the spicy tingle, perhaps try the colored glosses or the lipstick which is supposed to take the spiciness down a notch!

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Bronze Gelee in medium deep
Diamonds 11/9/2005 11:20:00 AM
Ok. First of all I want to say that I agree wholeheartedly with dreamergirl.... I am part Spanish (family from Spain) and I do have some color to begin with...I think that is a plus when using any medium, or dark tinted self tanner. Personally, I think that if you are as white as a ghost that it just won't look natural, because many people with rosy tinted skin won't tan anyway... I agree with the "cons" list for this product...it is probably not designed as well as it should be. I stood it upright, and almost lost some of the product escaping out of the cap! It oozes (because it is a gel formula) so, as everyone else has said, be prepared for the gooey sticky situation! I like this formula because it is different than other creams that I have tried...I think that the product must have some kind of silicone (although I haven't checked yet) or some kind of "slip" in there, because it truly was streak free for me. It is definitely a warning here that if you are impatient, or don't want to be standing around nude waiting for the product to dry, it may be better to try something faster drying. A trick I do is to use the hair dryer on myself to help speed up the drying, plus it warms you up after standing nude for 20 minutes or so! :) The color itself is great for girls with a yellow undertone IMO. My color did come out DEAD ON as was said, except for the sunburn part which I can live without! I am actually very amazed how great it looks, very very realistic, and I have always gotten the "orange" factor, but this is very real looking. If you can live with some of the "side effects" of this product (slow drying, no tint, not a great package design) then you are good to go. This is actually a very positive review for this product, but it is VERY important to mention the bads with the goods, so everyone gets the full story!!

Shampoo -TRESemme - Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo
Diamonds 9/14/2005 10:54:00 PM
TreSemme has been around for a long time. I always remembered seeing the commercials for Tresemme when I was a little girl, and the women with gleaming, shiny hair...even at a young age, I knew this was something that women strived for and that not all ads are real! I'll start out by saying that I do like Tresemme's Vitamin E shampoo. It is not a holy grail for me, but it cleans well, and my hair always feels shiny and bouncy..something that is great and my coarse hair doesn't like to be (shiny) Heck, my dog even uses Tresemme right now! The bottle is SO BIG..she looks great by the way. I got to see just how clean and shiny Tresemme makes hair. Even on my dog, she was smooth and shiny and it was awesome! This is a weird review! But I recommend Tresemme to anyone with any hair type. I also agree, the shampoo feels like it contains more silicone than most shampoos..and oddly, does make my blonde ("Blonde") hair brighter and sparklier. Heck...maybe this is a holy grail here! :) The smell might be a stopping point for some people. I like it personally. It is a typical synthetic shampoo smell, more fruity based, but also reminds me of Finesse's smell, or other drugstore brands. It is not a natural smell by any mean, but...smell it first before you buy the large tub o' shampoo! :)

Conditioner -TRESemme - Conditioner for Dry Hair
Diamonds 9/14/2005 10:43:00 PM
I bought the combo shampoo and conditioner like most other people, and I have had a mixed bag result. The shampoo works great IMO. I have VERY dry, coarse, naturally "kinky" curly hair and not just any shampoo works great. This stuff is CHEAP for one (in price) which was attractive, and I was curious to try it, as I have not used TreSemme since I was a small girl. The shampoo works great. The conditioner, I can take or leave. It didn't condition as well as I was hoping, from the likes of the shampoo, I thought the conditioner was going to be spectacular! I thought the conditioner was OK. For hard to handle hair, I wouldn't mention this as a holy grail (one for me would perhaps be Redken All Soft) ....but it is a very light conditioner if this is what you are looking for. Another thing to mention is the smell. While I am partial to it, it might be a bit much. It is very artificial apple-y, fruity smelling to me, and may make some people nauseous..I don't think it is to that extent though. It is a marginal smell...not OVERPOWERING like White Rain, but, nonetheless a shampoo smell and conditioner smell are important!

Cleansers -Biore - Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser
Diamonds 7/24/2005 11:18:00 AM
This product is very good! I wouldn't consider this a holy grail product for sure, but it does get the job done. I think this cleanser is a dicey proposition if you will-It works GREAT for my not-so-blemish-prone skin (only hormonal acne at best) but on someone with moderate acne, or sensitive skin, I wouldn't be so sure that this is a good choice. The "tingle" feeling could be a major irritant to someone with acne prone skin or sensitive skin. BUT if you have slightly oily skin w/not much skin irritation, this is a workable cleanser! The main reason I like this cleanser is the cooling effect. It is great in the summertime when you want to feel fresh, especially when it is 100+ degrees out! In the summer when my skin is oilier than normal, this cleanser works good. Like others have said, it is a bit drying, but that works well for me in the summer against the oil!

Lotions/ Creams -Ecco Bella - Ecco Bella Vanilla Lotion
Diamonds 5/1/2005 4:51:00 PM
This review is a mixed bag for a number of reasons... I agree with most of the reviews on these points: -Smells like true vanilla, it isn't plastic-y whatsoever -Very rich smelling, like heavy real vanilla smelling frosting... BUT..I too also think that it is very greasy and not very moisturizing. I have come across many more moisturizing lotions that aren't as greasy or heavy (Certain Vaseline lotions for example) It is very sticky and doesn't seem to settle into the skin very well..like it is just laying on there, almost like a weird cake batter clamminess.... This sounds like a horrid review, but the main reason I would buy this lotion is for the SMELL, and really nothing else. It leaves my skin with such a weird, clammy feeling, that I can't really recommend it, other than the great vanilla scent! :( but..Ecco Bella's lotion will always hold a special place in my heart, becuase my mom used to take me to Alfalfa's (Whole Foods Market) and put it on me as a little girl..and I always thought it was special...but..?

Shampoo -Garnier - Fructis Fortifying Shampoo
Diamonds 4/14/2005 11:03:00 AM
I do like this shampoo! I bought this from Canada before it was available in the US, and I liked it then...and I like it even MORE now, since it is only $3 in the US :) I have coarse hair that needs to be tamed, and the slightly waxy feel of the conditioner helps smooth my hair. I didn't notice it in the shampoo though..(as others have mentioned) I enjoy this shampoo because it seems really light and seems to clean and not strip my hair of oils. Some shampoos (store bought or otherwise) just seem SO strong (I had a problem with Treseme really stripping my hair of color!) I have repurchased this shampoo, and think it is one of the better store-bought shampoos!
