Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Eye Liner - All Colors
rated 4 of 5
Boxerface 12/23/2011 9:26:00 AM

This is one of the better L'Oreal Eyeliners. Althought it is fallible. Pros: goes on smooth, a tight line, It lasts about 8-10 hours. The color 531 Brown looks great on my hazel eyes and light skin. I did not use this for waterline. I have sensitive eyes and this was fine. Did not cause tearing or itchiness. Cons: The sharpener is a joke, The smoother is or smudger is hard not soft at all. I wish they made more colors.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Pencil Perfect Self-Advancing Eyeliner - Carbon Black
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 12/23/2011 9:17:00 AM

I did not buy this in black, I bought this in Cocoa 135. In a pinch I would buy this again but this is not a great eyeliner. The reason I would buy again is that it is easy to find a drug store or grocery store. When I am in a bind and not enough time I would grab one. The kind of eyeliner you keep in your purse or car just in case you need it. Pros: I love the auto self advancing pencil. The color 135 Cocoa is perfect for my light skin with hazel eyes. It is perfect for lining the outside of the eye around the lashes. It smudges in a way to create almost shadow like appearance. If you have thin eye lashes this can make them look thicker. Glides on nicely, no tugging. Washes off fairly easy. Cons: This is not for waterlining. Don't bother it won't last. This does NOT last all day. 4-6 hours maybe but nothing more. The price is high for the quality and .01 oz of eyeliner you are buying. Glides on BUT it smudges. If you want a defined line this is not it. There are better eyeliners out there for the money.

Primer/ Corrector -Sephora - Smoothing Primer
rated 1 of 5
Boxerface 11/14/2011 5:03:00 PM

Disappointed. I think a primer needs to go with your foundation. I am still trying this primer out but so far it is not working for me. Could it be this primer is for a different foundation? What do I want in a primer? I want a primer to help my makeup to last. I have oily combo skin that is fair. I need a foundation with medium coverage. I currently use Studio Sculpt by MAC. And this primer did not make this coverage last at all. Not even an hour. I have also tried this primer with L'Oreal True match. This was worse. I even tried using a small pea size amount as someone mentioned to see if maybe I was using too much. Still did not help. I wish I could say it was the silcon base but this can not be so as I have used other primers with a silcon base and they work pretty good with my True Match and my Mac SS. Maybe this primer is to fill in cracks, nooks and crannys in one's face before makeup. Maybe it is for a heavy make up not a medium coverage makeup. I wish I could like this at Sephora has great eyeliners, but this was a huge disappointment.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Anti-Aging Serum in Pucker Up Pink
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 11/6/2011 12:38:00 PM

I want a lipstick that is going to last, make my lips feel great and match my skin. L'Oreal Colour Riche makes a good product but the color was horrible. A blue based mauve that looks more pink but goes on purple based. Not pretty on a warm girl like me. It also has a touch of warm based color in the center of the stick. I guess assuming you are going to mix the colors as you put the lipstick on. The color is much darker than you think when you first open it. Think purple not mauve. The lipstick does give a rich feel with good coverage and moisture but it does not last on me. It is not a matte shade but has a sparkly shimmer. I have heard that some find it to be drying. I had not thought this lipstick was causing my chapped lips...I wonder? I won't buy this again. L'Oreal has some other lipsticks that I love but this Colour Riche in Pucker up pink is not pretty on me. http://beauty-and-health-planet.com/images/loreal-colour-riche-anti-aging-serum-lipcolour-pucker-.jpg

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Beauty Bar
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 11/6/2011 12:18:00 PM

Okay, I have to admit I use this soap. I use the sensitive skin version of Dove and it works great. I love it. I know there are d1000s that would be shocked but for someone with oily combo skin, mild roseaca, acne prone and sensitive skin. This works fantastic to get make up off. I use an oil first to remove makeup. I use dove sensitive skin soap or I use Oil of Olay cleanser to wash my face. Good stuff that works for me.

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
rated 4 of 5
Boxerface 11/6/2011 12:15:00 PM

Vaseline is the perfect go to when you don't have anything else that will work for dry skin. Cons: Sticky and does not always blend in easily Pros: Works great when nothing else will Pros: gets rid of diaper rash, burning itching skin and can rescue sensitive skin. I still prefer Olive oil to Petroleum jelly, Vaseline or any lanolin product.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Midnight Fantasy Britney Spears
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 11/6/2011 12:11:00 PM

This smells fantastic on my daughter. I will definitely buy this again as a gift for her. Very pretty, keep in mind this is a perfect scent for a teenager or young woman under 25. The base notes I smell are Vanilla, Blackberry or maybe it's Raspberry. And possibly black cherry. The scent lasts and doesn't disappear. The kind of smell you would find in a night club of girls dancing mixed with sweat and alcohol. A college girl scent that is sweet, sexy, not at all sophisticated but more feminine and fun. I want to add my daughter is allergic to many perfumes but has no issues with this scent.

Lipstick -Artdeco - High Performance Lipstick 418
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 11/6/2011 9:43:00 AM

This is my HG lipstick. It goes on smoothly, the color lasts and it has a great scent. Love it. I received this from a close friend in Germany. A goodie bag of all sorts of German treasures. Not sure where this lipstick is made. I had never heard of this brand until recieving this lovely treat. I think ARTDECO is German. #418 is a very orange color but goes on as a gorgeous coral. A velvet soft look not too matte but not overly glossy either. Love the way it feels. For some wonderful reason my lips look larger. Could be the color but it seems to plump up my lips without looking gooey. My skin color is Mac NC20 or Clarins 104 or EL Bone a fair color with warm undertones so this coral orange color matches me perfectly. If you are fair and looking for a fantastic coral lipstick, search for ARTDECO. You will love this.

Shampoo -Burt's Bees - Very Volumizing Pomegranate & Soy Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
Boxerface 10/28/2011 8:16:00 PM

I bought this for my daughter who has eczema and we thought this might work as it is suppossed to be great for skin. Since it did not work for her, I moved it to my bathroom thinking it would be great for my hair. Nothing, nada,....It does not rinse easily and feels like there is some kind of film still on my hair. Disappointed. It does nothing and worse makes me feel like I still need to wash my hair.

Powder -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Boxerface 10/28/2011 8:11:00 PM

I am still searching for the right powder to work with my fave Studio Sculpt NC25. The salesgirl at the counter was in a rush and I think just sold this to me to get rid of me. It was way too dark. Medium Deep. And it covered the soft shimmery dewy look that I love from Studio Sculpt. I am wearing NC25 and NC20 and I wonder if this Medium deep was too dark or in the wrong package. I am not tan, I have light skin and this powder looked like a bronzer to me. I need a perfect powder in a compact to take to work to touch up on those super long 16 hour days. I am going to try the translucent compact later to see if this could work for me. The pros... The powder is beautifully made. Tiny soft like feel and you can see the excellent quality. The color stays The cons: just not my color but I think with the right color this could work and that is why I gave this a 4 lippies.

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Skin
rated 4 of 5
Boxerface 10/28/2011 7:59:00 PM

Further Update 3/22/2012 Today is my B-day and I have a little extra time to play on MA. I continue to use this primer until I find a better one. It definitely works in the t-zone. A little goes a long way. I wish I could find something that fills lines better but for now this is pretty good. Update..1/27/2012 I do not always use this primer. I think it was causing me to break out. I do sometimes use a tiny bit on my chin and nose but for the most part I have recently been avoiding this primer as I have had some serious breaks outs and my rosecea flared up terribly. It may not may not have been this primer but I think I had a reaction. will update later. ------------- I love this. I am new to primers and WOW what a difference a good primer makes. I tried this primer with MAC Studio Sculpt. Then on a whim the next day I thought I want to see if the Primer works with my old makeup. I used this under L'Oreal True Match. IT WORKED!!! Something about using a tiny dab of primer over my face, letting it dry and then applying my foundation makes the foundation go on smoothly and my skin feel great. Now this does not mean I am going to trash my Studio Sculpt. That foundation definitely matches my skin better than the L'Oreal True Match N2 however I now realize that the key to a great last with my foundation is to prime it first. The other key part of a primer is that it stops the make up from oxidizing. I tried Studio sculpt without the primer. It still looks good but does not last. And of course when I go without primer with the L'Oreal True match, that makeup changes color during the day. I need a primer. I have also learned that do not prime over a wet face or a face that just had Sunscreen put on it. Wait 1/2 hour for the sunscreen and moisturize to really dry before using the primer. And TINY, Yes I mean, TINY dots of primer over the t-zone. I do not even need the primer over my cheeks. I do need it in my t-zone area and chin where I might break out a bit or my makeup gets oily during the day. Love this primer but keep in mind this is the first primer I have ever tried. I will buy again, by the case. Won't go without a primer anymore.

Eyeliner -MAC - Technakohl in Brownborder
rated 3 of 5
Boxerface 10/28/2011 7:49:00 PM

MAC Technakhol in Brown Border. Nothing special. I think it is a few more dollars than Sephora's basic eyeliner. In fact I can not tell the difference. I do like this color but it is no different than a sephora liner in the exact same package. It does not go on as smoothly as some eyeliners out there. But once on it does stay about 8 hours. A basic brown that leans toward the reddish brown color. I need to explore better options for eyeliners by MAC. I love their foundation so I know there has to be something right for me.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Boxerface 10/28/2011 7:39:00 PM

I think... this is my new HG foundation. It does not last the way Rev Color stay or EL Doublewear does. (in fact if you are looking for an 8 hour foundations this is NOT it) BUT...my skin is 100 times better. Acne and bumps gone. I am very new to MAC. Being a die hard EL girl most of my life, it was a big step to try this makeup. I love it SS. It is super light and feels like I am not wearing makeup but keep in mind I am used to the old fashioned idea of more is better. It feels like I am not wearing makeup but it makes my skin perfect. This is a buildable foundation. If there is an area that needs more coverage this works great. And it dries to a dewy soft look that is natural. The color shade is perfection for me. Truly I have never been able to find a foundation to really match and cover my skin until SS by MAC. Love it. The color is a perfect match. No other foundation has matched this well. I am learning that less is more. I have found a foundation that matches perfectly and gently covers without looking cakey. This is it. I get a natural dewy finish that makes me feel beautiful. My skin glows without the teenage sparkle. It comes off easily and lasts for about 8 hours. The salesgirl tried to convince me this could last 16 hours. Total bull. It barely lasts 8 hours but no way for 16. I need to touch up with a powder and blot a bit. Mac says Primer is the key and making sure my moisturizer is dry before starting with a primer and making sure the primer is dry before using the SS mac mu. However, I am finding that the primer (Prep and Prime) may be causing me breakouts. With this in mind I am searching for a good silcon free primer. I am willing to forgo the long wear for makeup because this makes my skin feel great. I have noticed acne disappearing and to remove this makeup is super easy. I highly recommend trying this foundation. I am combo slightly oily, in my 40s, with mild red roseaca skin with medium size pores that need to be covered. Winter time my skin tends to have dry patches. I have some acne scars. My skin tone is a warm light color. At every Mac counter they say "You must be a NC20" and then they discover that I am really an NC25. I like the NC20 but because of the redness around edges of my nose etc, the NC25 blends so much better. I really thought NC25 was going to be too dark but it looks amazing. I am at a loss for the NC or NW.. What the heck? I am a warm but am wearing a C. Not sure if the C stands for Cool or not but this color is perfect for me. I am also using the concealor in NC20. I think this is slightly closer to my skin color but for some reason the darker NC25 really blends wonderfully to cover any acne, red tones or blemshes. I have also learned to put my makeup on before concealor. This is totally new to me. I put the concealor on after and what an amazing difference. This new trick has helped my skin look even better. Oh the sales girl recommended a brush. I found using the tips of my fingers is even better to get the flawless finish. I still use a brush after but for smoothing over my face, I like my fingers best. Love this makeup. If you are looking for buildable foundation with moderate coverage with a clean feel that has a dewy glow to the skin, this is it.

Cleansers -Olay - Blemish Control Lathering Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 10/28/2011 7:15:00 PM

I love this cleanser. But my Olay Cleanser is called Olay Acne Control Face Wash. In a blue pump bottle w ith a dark black and blue lable. This is a great product if you are not seeing a derm and just want to keep the acne at bay. I moisturize right after I use this wash. I have 40 year old skin, cystic acne prone, sensitive, Roseaca, oily prone in t-zone and needing a good cleanser to take off make up like Revlon Color Stay or MAC Studio Sculpt or EL Doublewear. This works. The salicylic acid keep future break outs at bay. I am reviewing this after 6 months of use and I love this product. Finally a cleanser for the oily sensitive girl who breaks out. For a truly sensitive dry skin soul, I would NOT use this. If you are using other acne fighting products this cleanser will dry you out and possibly cause red inflammed skin. Keep in mind this is a Hydroxy product that even a doctor would say "Is too much" . If you are using any presciption meds, I think you should check with your doctor. This will be too harsh. DO not use if you have super sensitive dry skin. Lastly, I love the pump dispenser.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
Boxerface 10/15/2011 7:35:00 PM

My favorite HG Eyeliner. Pros: Stays put, 16 hours or more!!!! Great colors, (I love the brown) but I also have gray and blue. Goes on easily does not tug or pull around eye. I will buy this again. Cons: a little stubborn to wash off. Use mineral oil, olive oil or baby oil and that does the trick perfectly. The tiny sharpener is stupid
