Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom

This is a shimmery colour, but perfect for me as a base wash. Great as a highlighter that doesnt look as if you've got stripes all over you too! I have dark circles under my eyes (inherited) and no concealer can cover it, but a very slight wash of this doesnt completely hide them, but makes a damn good job of reducing them! Doesn't stay forever on me, but long enough to carry me through to lunch-break touch ups. Good basic to have, if you're new to MAC then this is one to try, unless you want something special, as you can get e/s just like this from cheap brands, but without the amazing texture. Pale, black/brown hair, light brown eyes, blue toned skin, medium pigmented lips

This is a very pretty, slightly frosted light pink on my lips. Looks really nice with my dark eyes but theres enough pigment to draw attention to your lips without it being OTT. Makes my teeth seem quite white too (my teeth always seem to look yellow with pinks) Great texture, really light and non-drying. My tube has lasted me forever and looks best with browns on me and my best friend looked great in it teamed with taupes (redhead) In fact... I think it would look great on pretty much any paler skinned girl :) Pale, black/brown hair, light brown eyes, blue toned skin, medium pigmented lips

Moisturizers -Neal's Yard - Almond Moisturiser

This is my HG moisturiser. Paired with Palmarosa face wash and wow my skin has never looked better! This stuff doesn't flood your face and feel clogging, but if like me you have quite bad dry patches and 'scratchy' skin in others then this will be perfect. My skin feels soft, smooth and looks great. Gorgeous pot, smells great, and lasts forever. Also, I used this on a patch of sunburn on my face, and it was gone within a few hours. Miracle product I guess :D I didnt believe the huge hype this recieved in the UK when it first came out (it was one of the first in the range I believe) but it deserves it!

Cleansers -Neal's Yard - Palmarosa Face Wash

Wow. This stuff is liquid gold! I had skin that was in quite bad condition, slightly spotty and grey looking, but this combined with Almond moisturiser has given me soft, fresh looking, great smelling skin. The bottle is a bit annoying as there's always a worry that it'll leak out of the pump, but dont make the mistake of leaving it at home for a week when you stay with your boyfriend.. I looked hideous, gave me a wakeup call of how much good this stuff does me. £7 GP from my local boutique, which is cheap compared to some skin systems I've tried, and the bottles look gorgeous lined up on my shelf. No doubt that the moment this runs out I'll get more. Perfect!

Fragrances -Jean Paul Gaultier - Classique EDP
rated 5 of 5

I love this perfume, I used to wear it every day. It's a very warmly sweet, sexy perfume, men love it on me.. in fact, my ex-boyfriend of a year asked me for a date because apparently my smell was 'addictive' and insists on buying a bottle of it for me every time I begin to run out! one spray ( I use it on my neck and hairline) will last for the working day. Some may find this a bit overly strong if, like me, you like to switch to a lighter, fresher scent for summer. If you want a perfume to remind you of how sexy and womanly you are, this is it! Update: Used this in the summer and Angel in the winter, and wow this is actually quite nice for those balmy nights. Edit: Completely addictive, if you wear another perfume instead of this one you get that annoying feeling you've forgotten something. Fantastic stuff.

Polishes -OPI - Pink-Ticularly Pretty
rated 4 of 5
Aether 8/15/2006 5:33:00 AM

I was searching for ages for a nail colour that looked very natural that didnt make the tips look yellow-ish, and after hundreds of barely touched bottles lying scattered in my make up drawers, I picked this one up. Its a very soft, creamy pink, with no sparkle or shimmer, and is shiny, like I buff my nails every day :) It lasts on me for a good 5, 6 days without chipping, and I really am not careful of my nails! Dried quickly too. Good price for the quality, and the brush is *just* long enough to get the polish from the bottom of the bottle. In love! Update: Found this to be a bit too thick for it not to streak on me, one coat would be the perfect colour but it needs two to get it as even as I can. Dissapointing as its a lovely colour.

Lip Gloss -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint Lip Balm
rated 3 of 5
Aether 8/15/2006 5:32:00 AM

Ohh I wanted to love this so much! And I do to an extent... it smells divine and gives me a BEAUTIFUL tint and light sheen that lasted a fair while considering that this is only a tinted lip balm and not lipstick... but they didnt leave my lips *particularly* smooth (although they werent chapped or tight) and I cant stand the pot - the design means you have to carry a lipbrush round too, which is effort I wanted to avoid by buying tinted lipbalm. Overall too expensive for what it does on my lips, unless you're like me and have fallen in love with the colour and smell. If this was in a no-fuss stick I'd be more than happy to whip it out and apply it, but as its a pot another one to sell. Pale, black/brown hair, light brown eyes, blue toned skin, medium pigmented lips

EDP version - This is worth the price. It smells divine, wears easily anytime and makes you feel so good. If you are one of those people who wear perfume for the feelings it brings then you will love this. I always wear this when I need to feel confident. And the bottle looks very feminine and elegantly simple on your dresser. Definitely worth trying!

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel
rated 5 of 5
Aether 8/15/2006 5:31:00 AM

EDP version - I love this bottle! It's got a flat-ish back so it lies on a surface nicely and it is easily one of the prettiest bottles around IMO. I tried this on years ago when I was about 12 (always loved expensive perfume, I blame my mother) and it smelt awful on me. Then, when my hormones had appeared and settled down, I tried it on again. Woah. I don't know what happened to my chemistry but it sure had changed. This smelt amazing the moment I tried it on again, and still smells just as fabulous three bottles later. Whenever I walk into a room, everyone asks what I'm wearing and guys love it. Its such a romantic, sweet smell that is sophisticated and has just the right weight to it for winter. Good if you're a chocoholic! I'm just scared that this is going to become a Rush and everyone wears it - it spoils its intrigue. Not everyone could wear this though. Do test this before you buy. Update: So many people that I know / work with now wear this that you need several paracetamol to get through a days worth of a thick cloud of Angel. Time to find a new sig scent :(

Eye Shadow -NARS - Night Star
rated 5 of 5
Aether 8/15/2006 5:29:00 AM

I bought this because, like other reviewers, I fell in love with this in its pan. It did show up on my very pale skin, a beautiful champagne colour. It makes me look so much healthier and more alert and goes nicely with pretty much every lip colour I'd use in a week, which means it can become part of my 'I want to look ok but dont have several hours to put a load of makeup on' look. The packaging's pretty cute too, the rubber means that its very easy for me to keep clean. Update: years later and I still have the original one I purchased, and I love it. Versatile, subtle and evidently long lasting. Fab!

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Dior Addict Ultra-Shine Sheer Lipcolor in 222- Shiniest Beige
rated 5 of 5
Aether 8/15/2006 5:27:00 AM

I love this packaging, very sexy. It is a warm, biscuity beige that is very natural on me.It shimmers rather than sparkles, which is nice. I love the smell of this and it feels very moisturising. It goes on very smoothly too. Not an incredible amount of staying power but is that surprising with such a sheer lipstick? Think of solid, non sticky lipgloss and you've got it. As long as I wear a strongish eyeshadow this doesn't wash me out at all. It doesn't make me look dead (sad side effect of nudes on me) either. But having said that, you could probably find one almost identical for a lot cheaper. Still, its worth at least sampling! Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Baby Lips
rated 2 of 5
Aether 8/15/2006 5:23:00 AM

this seemed like a gorgeous natural flushed pink, but it doesn't last long and what does stay goes chalky, thick and an artificial shade. I later found out that if I put a thick lipbalm like original lypsil underneath then it goes on much sheerer and looks quite pretty, although it's still a little too bright for me. Pale, black/brown hair, light brown eyes, blue toned skin, medium pigmented lips

*Revelation* Hmm 'glowing' is the polite word for sweating if you're female... Maybe thats why it smells so awful? Sweat in a bottle... fitting

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in High Tea
rated 3 of 5
Aether 8/15/2006 5:22:00 AM

Hmm. I'm a huge fan of MAC.... but I'm not sure about this one! I bought it without ever seeing it (because I always love MAC stuff anyway and most MAC colours are pretty unique on me) and I guess I thought it would provide more colour - seemed a lot more shimmery than pigmented, if that makes sense? I have quite dry lips, but when I applied this over a lipbalm it looked like I'd smeared my lips with donut glaze! So skipped the balm and its not drying, so I'm doing ok. Nice for those days when you want a basic paleish lip, looked nice teamed with Swimming as my main e/s. Wouldnt rebuy, cant see me using up even one tube. Pale, black/brown hair, light brown eyes, blue toned skin, medium pigmented lips

Lipstick -MAC - Frost Lipstick in New York Apple
rated 4 of 5
Aether 8/15/2006 5:20:00 AM

Mmmm a yummy red, I get quite a lot of shimmery medium pink out of this too. Its quite thick, with a creamy texture, not exactly one of those lippies where you can use a little bit to tint your lips! Smells great, looks amazing on girls with my colouring. Think my lips are just a bit too thin for it. Update: saw several photos of me wearing this in different lighting, and I looked like an extra from Moulin Rouge at best, a 'lady of the night' at worst. The camera does not lie, so this got binned!
