Eye Shadow -LORAC - IT Kit Love and Money Shadows
rated 5 of 5

These dark emerald and apple green eye shadows are to die for! Great for fall and winter. I was a little daunted by how flamboyant they looked in the package, but the colors look stunning on, and I'm a LLL with pale skin and blue/gray eyes. I love the packaging, a little square duo set with a plastic pop-top lid, easy to slip in my purse like Lorac's Peachy Keen and Sugar & Spice Blush set. The shadows are worth the price, $28 for the duo, because they look luscious on, feel velvety soft and have immense staying power. These look good with my Nars Orgasm blush or Lorac's Peachy Keen blush and Bliss gloss. Give these gorgeous green jewels a try!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice - Strawberry Smoothie
rated 4 of 5
singwritenow 10/5/2004 2:40:00 PM

This lip gloss really is like a high end gloss for half the price! It's IDENTICAL to Lancome's Juicy Tubes, I swear!!!!! If you've been forking out some serious dough on Juicy Tubes, give these babies a try. Strawberry Smoothie is a sheer, ultra soft baby pink that tastes great, feels thick and luscious on, stays put like MAC lip glass and makes my lips look sassy and kissable. There's not much shimmer with this one, but it's a good basic gloss that looks and feels as good or better than Juicy Tubes for half the price! Loreal makes them both and packages them differently, Juicy Tubes with a slant applicator and Color Juices with a ball applicater. The formula looks, feels and tastes very similar. I'd like to have ALL of them!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Cultured
rated 5 of 5

I finally purchased my first lip glass after reading so many positive reviews. I love MAC e/s and lipsticks but honestly didn't think you could tell the difference between lip glasses and drugstore lip gloss. Boy, was I wrong! Now I'm hooked. I had a hard time deciding which one to purchase first after trying on so many at the MAC counter and finally narrowed it down to Cultured, Nymphette and Prr. I decided on Cultured because of the dreamy, cotton candy pink, YLBB that looks great paired with my Stila Firece Plum palette as well as with smokey eyes. It stays on and is thick, lustrous and glassy. This color is great for my pale skin, doesn't wash me out. Cultured also looks pretty over my HG staple MAC Emphatic lipstick, a pale pink shade that is my favorite. Is there a 12 step program for lip glass because after purchasing this and seeing and feeling the difference I'm truly addicted! Will repurchase more colors for sure.

Blush -LORAC - Powder blush in Soul
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 10/5/2004 1:37:00 PM

This blush is a a plummy earth tone that looks very natural on. I usually reach for it when I wear red because of its muted earthy tone that doesn't compete with smokey eyes or red lipstick. A good staple to have for every day, very versatile. I would repurchase again.

Oh, how I love the buttery rich softness of these eye shadows, like velvet! I loved my Fierce Femme Plum palette so much I just had to have this one. The texture of the shadows not only feel incredible, but they have amazing staying power. The lush forest green, tawny shimmery brown and creamy yellowish shade are perfect for fall. The blush is a pale peachy pink that looks divine with the shadows and makes my eyes stand out. Perfect for travel. Would highly recommend!

Palettes -Stila - Fierce Femme in Fierce Plum
rated 5 of 5

This product is a must for fall and I think would work with all skin tones. I'm a LLL pale skin with gray/blue eyes and the eggplant, plum and shell pink shadows in this trio look stunning on and make my eyes pop! I agree with the other rave reviews that this is an awesome deal, the 3 rich, velvety gorgeous shades with the pretty lavender pink blush that stays on all day. I wore my Cargo Tonga blush with it and it really perked up my cheeks with a rosy, natural glow. I'm not crazy about the packaging, but love the rich textures and staying power of the e/s and the colors are phenomenal! Perfect for a glamorous evening look or a polished professional daytime look. Almost better than chocolate! This is a must have for everyone:-)

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Vinyl Lip - Fantastic
rated 2 of 5
singwritenow 9/28/2004 2:46:00 PM

I wanted a new red shimmery gloss for fall and after reading so many positive reviews about Rimmel's lip vinyl, decided to try this one. It looks okay on, a basic run of the mill coral red, shiny, but not shimmery, not a lot of spunk or spark, nothing too exciting. The smell about knocked me over, tasted wretched, definitely denotes a drugstore brand. I would not kiss my boyfriend with this on for sure! I'm on the fence with this one though because it's so dirt cheap and doesn't look bad so how could I not try more of them???

Moisturizers -Clarins - Multi Active Night Cream
rated 1 of 5

This face cream is expensive and broke my face out. I will never buy my skin care products again from a makeup line. *update - I started using Dermalogica products and it's the best skincare line I've EVER used.

Blush -LORAC - Powder blush in Desire
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 8/26/2004 5:23:00 PM

I have had this blush a while now and since I have been on a blush kick lately wanted to review it. It's a shimmery bubble gum pink in the container but don't let that scare you because it's much lighter on, and gives my cheeks a very light glow, almost like a highlighter instead of a blush. This looks good on the apples of my cheeks with many different blushes that are pink, peach or brown toned and I have even worn it alone for just a hint of baby soft color on my pale skin. I've read about this color in magazines and decided to try it out and love it! It's reasonably priced for a high end blush and this will be one of my HG blush staples for sure!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 3 of 5
singwritenow 8/26/2004 4:37:00 PM

I finally caved in and bought this because I wanted to experience the HG nirvana of all blushes. I wanted so fervently to fall madly in love with this blush but have to say that for me, I like the name much more than the actual product. Unfortunately, I'm only mildly infatuated because other colors seem to work better for me.

Blush -Stila - Petunia Convertible Color
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 8/26/2004 3:42:00 PM

After trying all the CC colors on in Sephora, decided to purchase this one. I liked so many of them it was hard to decide and after wearing it all day yesterday, the verdict is in that I not only would repurchase this but will definitely be back to get more. I used to use only powder blushes but have become more adventurous with them since I have been inspired by the positive MUA reviews, especially about Stila CCs. Petunia is a shocking raspberry pink in the pan which I thought would look garish on, but when I tried it, the first thing I noticed was that it made my blue/gray eyes pop! And I also really like how it looks on my lips with a little clear gloss. I look forward to wearing this with a hint of mascara on weekends or when I'm in a hurry and just need a quick splash of color.

Blush -Cargo - Tonga
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 8/26/2004 3:28:00 PM

I went on a blush buying binge and couldn't wait to try this one. I had gotten in a blush rut using the same ones over and over and decided to spice things up a bit. I purchased this one, Nars Orgasm and Stilia Petinia and this one is my favorite! The texture feels like silk, very finely milled and you get a lot of product. I like the tin that it comes in which makes it very easy to slip in my purse and go. It lasts all day and looks great with a dusting of Lorac Desire blush on the apples of my cheeks. Tonga is a warm pink, much lighter on my skin than in the pan. After wearing this for 6 hours I checked in the mirror and it looks like I just put it on! Cargo, I can't wait to try more of your products!

Mascara -Bourjois - Pump Up The Volume
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 8/25/2004 3:14:00 PM

I have been lusting after this for a while and finally broke down and bought one in a light green color and all I can say is WOW! Not only is it a great mascara that thickens my thin light lashes, but the color makes my blue eyes pop. I love the array of colors available and want to buy them all! This is such a fun line, owned by Chanel but much less expensive. This is a perfect mascara for days when you're in a hurry and are in the mood for a different look that's instant. I also really like the brush, it thickens and separates my lashes. Will buy again for sure!

This foundation is creamy, light and fabulous! It looks sheer and natural and makes my skin glow with a soft sheen. It feels good on and last all day. Perfect for a soft, natural look. Would definately repurchase.
