Palettes -Stila - Media Darling Palette - Press Savvy
rated 5 of 5

Love the palette, hate the packaging. I gave this 5 lippies though because as with the Fierce Femme Palettes, the colors are richly pigmented and stay on all day. Press Savvy as the other reviewers have mentioned is a warm peach toned palette that gives an overall natural glow. I love the lip rouge and lip gloss in this palette that the Fierce Femme collection didn't have. The lip color in Luce complements the e/s and blush very well and makes me want to purchase the lipstick in this shade now because it gives your lips a YLBB sheen with a hint of color. I normally wear cool colors because I'm fair but I am really enjoying the wearing these warm colors, perfect for winter.

Lip Liners -Rimmel - Exaggerate-063 Eastend Snob
rated 5 of 5

Rimmel liners are the bomb!!! Eastend Snob is a neutral light mauve pink liner that goes great with my Mac Cultured & Nymphette lipglasses as well as any other pink l/g or pink lipstick. Why fork out some serious $$$ on expensive lip liners when Rimmel liners look great and work just as well. A juicy secret discovery! For those of you who haven't tried these yet, you must!! Fabulous product at a bargain price:-)

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip D'Votion- Simply Strawberry
rated 3 of 5
singwritenow 10/26/2004 12:19:00 PM

I couldn't pass this one up after reading that it's comparable to Stila's lipglaze gloss pens for a fraction of the price. I tried on some of Stila's lip pen colors in Sephora and went out and bought the Bonne Bell knockoff and have to say that for the price, not bad. The taste is like faint strawberry candy, imparts a peachy pink clear shine with no shimmer. I like the feel of the brush applicator and since I'm a l/g junkie would probably repurchase because this is very similar to Stila's lipglaze.

Palettes -LORAC - Portable Paints Partially Nude
rated 1 of 5
singwritenow 10/26/2004 11:42:00 AM

This isn't a bad product but the colors look horrific on me! I gave it only 1 lippie because of that. In the pan the colors are a pretty shimmery pale sandy nude beige tan e/s, blush and two lip glosses. I so wanted to love this because I have been looking for something quick and easy for a no fuss, no makeup look. These colors would look pretty on someone with olive or darker skin but for my fair skin tone, I'm sad to say I've learned my lesson about purchasing colors that aren't right for me.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Nymphette lipglass
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 10/26/2004 11:12:00 AM

Nymphette is by far the most gorgeous gloss I have ever used. It is a golden pink shimmer, a truly YLBB look that goes with everything. I love the creamy, rich glassy texture because it is thick and stays on. As addicted to l/g as I am, I could honestly toss them all out and use only this one. I was completely smitten with Cultured but Nymphette is by far the prettiest gloss I've ever seen. Yes, yes, yes I will repurchase!!

Liquid -Laura Mercier - moisturizing foundation
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 10/7/2004 5:25:00 PM

This foundation is excellent for a true flawless finish as it claims. For a light, incredibly soft and natural look, I reach for this often. The creamy, satiny finish makes my dry/combination skin look healthy and glowing. A stellar foundation at the top of my list.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Secret Finish
rated 2 of 5

This is another product I swooned over in the beginning but the spark soon faded when I discovered Smashbox Softlights Smashing Shimmer. I don't think I would repurchase because I prefer a powder highligher vs. a cream but it was fun while the infatuation lasted.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer

I was infatuated with this product at first, but after the newness wore off, I realized it didn't make that much of a difference in how my face looked. I ended up giving it away to my best friend who loves LM because it just sat alone on my shelf begging to be used.

Powder -Laura Mercier - Foundation Powder
rated 5 of 5

LM #2 is the perfect compact powder I was looking for with just enough of a yellow base for my LLL MAC NC25 skin. This is my new HG powder for my purse, replacing Lorac's compact because it is more finely milled, silky and just glides on beautifully. It feels and looks so natural and I love the thin sponge included with it as well as a more absorbant, soft cloth sponge that comes with it. It would be hard to top this in a compact.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Color- Vanilla Nuts
rated 4 of 5
singwritenow 10/7/2004 4:42:00 PM

Laura Mercier Vanilla Nuts e/s is a very natural light cream beige that works well as a good base shadow. This color reminds me of MAC's Bisque. I took one lippie off of LM shadows because I don't like the packaging, the brown square boxes they come in. But the shadows are great, they cling to my lids without creasing and I find when I use them as a base my other e/s seems to stay on longer.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Buttercream Eye Shadow
rated 4 of 5
singwritenow 10/7/2004 12:20:00 PM

Buttercream is a great basic nude light creamy beige e/s staple that I use a lot as a base and brow highlighter. It works great for natural, low-key eye looks paired with dark lipsticks. I love to wear it with Laura Mercier Vanilla Nut e/s, lined with MAC Nehrue, my Chanel Red Matador lipstick and Lorac Soul blush for a classic look, simple, yet elegant. I like the quality and texture of this shadow. It stays on all day without creasing, goes with almost anything and I reach for it often.

Candles -Votivo - Teak
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 10/6/2004 5:28:00 PM

Votivo candles are the most exquisite candles on the planet! They are absolutely sumptuous, smell divine and last forever. I'm a complete CANDLEHOLIC and Votivos are my favorite, hands down. My first one was Red Current, their most popular, but I love Teak, Amber, Black Ginger and Deep Clover the most. They are a little pricey, but sooooooooooo worth it because they last for so long. If you are a complete candle freak like me, you MUST check these out. I swear, they are complete aroma therapy, almost mood altering they smell so good.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash mascara in brown/black
rated 3 of 5
singwritenow 10/5/2004 5:13:00 PM

I can't believe I have used this for years and have not reviewed it yet. It's not the be all end all HG of mascaras but for the price, you can't beat it for an everyday no fuss mascara. Loreal Lashout and Voluminous are my favorites, along with Borgeous but good ole Great Lash will probably always be a reliable staple for days when I don't want or need to be all glammed out because Lord knows my thin bald looking lashes need something.

Eye Shadow -LORAC - Jade
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 10/5/2004 4:46:00 PM

Jade is a sultry, smoldering gray emerald green that looks stunning as a smudged smokey green eye or as a liner with a wet or dry brush. The only thing about Lorac shadows is you have to be careful about the fallout, especially this one because it's so dark. These shadows are lush and vibrant, and they stay on all day without creasing! They remind me of what MAC shadows, my HG e/s for years, used to be like when they first came out before they were bought out by Estee Lauder. Lorac doesn't have the vast array of colors to choose from that MAC does, but the ones that are available are beautiful, rich, lush and highly pigmented. I like the fact that Carol Shaw, the makeup artist who actually owns the line and the line is named after (Lorac is Carol spelled backwards) uses the actual products she designs on people in film and print. Her line is one of my favorites and Jade e/s is a dramatic color that will make your eyes scream to be noticed.

Eye Shadow -LORAC - Harmony
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 10/5/2004 4:10:00 PM

I am very pleased with this shadow, a richly pigmented pretty pale peach that I can wear alone to bring out the blue in my gray/blue eyes or on my browbone as a highlighter with more dramatic e/s colors. The color is definitely a staple that I will use again and again and repurchase.
