Eye Shadow -Stila - Sparkle eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5

Sparkle is a pretty beige khaki brown to add to my basic staple collection. Will work well with browns, golds, olive greens and taupes. I like the shimmer of this paired with brown mattes. Love Stila shadows. This color would look good on all skin types.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Diamond 'Lil
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 4/13/2006 4:48:00 PM

Diamond Lil was my first choice when I was deciding on which shadows to get for my Stila six pan. I was drawn to the smoky gray silver with a slight green undertone. I'm wearing it today on my lids with MAC Print e/s smudged underneath my eyes and Stila's Black Smudge Pot as a liner paired with MAC's Flusterose Lustreglass. If you're into greys and haven't tried this color, it's stunning on and has great staying power as with all Stila's shadows. !

Eye Shadow -Stila - Kitten
rated 2 of 5

This is one of Stila's most popular e/s colors and the one I chose first for my six pan. But after applying it more in depth at home, to my dismay I discovered it was much too shimmery on me. The pink champagne iridescence clashed with my yellow-toned pale skin. I tried to use it as a base and it was still too over-the-top shiny. This color is just not for me. I really wanted to fall in love with this shadow but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Goodbye, Kitten:-( Fortunately I saved my receipt and will have to exchange you for another color.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Half Baked Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 4/13/2006 4:28:00 PM

Had to try this e/s since it's gotten such stellar MUA reviews and am so glad that I did! Half Baked is my new HG peach e/s I've been looking for to use as an everyday, go-with-anything look. It's truly the prettiest peach/gold e/s I've seen. I use this with Stila's Smudge Pot black liner and Cargo's Kasmir as a base, MAC's Shroom on my brow line. I love the formulation of this e/s, silky smooth and shimmery, looks stunning on, makes blue eyes pop. I can see this as being one of the few shadows I replace often, like MAC's Vex, because it goes with everything, a color to reach for on days when I'm in a hurry and need a good, reliable standby.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara

It looks great on, but I would never buy this again because Loreal Voluminous works just as well for a fraction of the price.

Blush -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Blush #2 Coral

I adore the soft shimmery coral peach glow this blush has without being too overpowering. I keep it in my purse for an instant pick me up during the day. I love the sponge applicator, great for travel. UPDATE: I really love having this in my purse for a pop of instant gold shimmer. This goes well on top of my new HG blush, Cargo's Louisiana.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pot in Black
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 4/13/2006 3:26:00 PM

Stila's Smudge Pot in black is by far the best liner I have ever used. I'm using the thin liner brush I got when I bought my Bobbi Brown gel liner. This liner goes on velvetly smooth, looks flawless and doesn't budge. I have been using MAC's Nehrue e/s as a black liner for years but love the silky yet firm texture of this liner. I would repurchase but am sure this will last forever. The MA said to make sure to always close the lid tightly to make sure it doesn't dry out.

Lipstick -Elizabeth Arden - Color Intrigue - Jazz
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 4/13/2006 3:03:00 PM

I have looked high and low for a nude bronze with a hint of gold shimmer. This is it. On me it has pink undertones which helps to not wash me out. It is perfect paired with smoky eyes for summer. This is my first EA lipstick and I would recommend this if you're looking for a basic nude with a slight metallic sheen.

Lipstick -MAC - Lovemate
rated 4 of 5
singwritenow 4/12/2006 5:22:00 PM

Lovemate is an audacious metallic berry shimmer with silver and gold sparkles. I wore it today with MAC's lustreglass Flusterose gloss on top to tone it down. It had staying power more than most MAC shades, even the mattes. Dramatic, bold and eye catching, a fun wine/berry shade for summer but would look good as a winter shade because it's so intense.

Eye Shadow -Cargo - Kashmir
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 4/12/2006 4:57:00 PM

Kashmir is a matte yet blendable everyday tan base e/s that goes on silky smooth and stays all day. This is a neutral tan staple that you can mix and match with a lot of different colors. I love Cargo shadows because the texture is finely milled and even the lighter colors are highly pigmented. Can't wait to get more. This color is gorgeous, simple and elegant, looks great on blue eyes but would look great on every eye color. If you're looking for a basic shadow you can dress up or down, this is it.

Blush -Tarte - Cheek Stain in Dollface
rated 1 of 5
singwritenow 4/12/2006 4:51:00 PM

Tarte's cheek stains have gotten so many great reviews, I couldn't wait to try and see which color looked best on me. I'm MAC NC25/Stila 20 Watts and this pretty babydoll pink looked more natural on me than the other colors. I liked the pop of cotton candy pink color but unfortunately it was sticky and greasy and made my face itch. On me it looks greasy and shiny and I'm really suprised because I have combination dry skin. I am going to have to return it to Nordstroms and get my money back:-(

Lip Gloss -Bourjois - Effet 3D Chair Veridic 14
rated 5 of 5
singwritenow 3/10/2006 3:29:00 PM

This is a soft peach bubblegum pink perfect for summer or a pretty nude lip. I'm a LLL NC25 and this color looks pretty without washing me out. I love the formula of these glosses because they have staying power and lots of shine without feeling too thick. Will repurchase this color for sure because it goes with everything.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Twinkle Glossimer
rated 3 of 5
singwritenow 3/10/2006 3:17:00 PM

Twinkle is an icy gold peach/pink gloss that glistens as much or more as MAC's lipglass without feeling heavy. On me (MAC NC25) it looks more like a tawny peach than pink and I like to wear it with Nars Orgasm blush and Lorac Jade e/s with MAC's Vex on the brow line and Embark e/s as a liner. I'm on the fence as to whether I'd repurchase. I like it but don't love it. I'd almost rather wear Bourjois glosses instead (also made by Chanel) because they also stay on without being sticky and come in an array of gorgeous colors for almost half the price. ** Update - I just found Jordana's Lipshine Shimmer Glaze in Vanilla Bean at Walgreens for $1.99 and I swear this looks as good or better than Chanel's Twinkle!!!! I'm amazed at how inexpensive this gloss is and how fabulous it looks. It doesn't have as much gold as Twinkle, but hey, for the price, who cares? I will not be buying Twinkle ever again!!!!!!!!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Panoramic Curl
rated 2 of 5
singwritenow 3/3/2006 5:17:00 PM

This mascara is so much like my old fave, Lancome's Definicils for less than half the price! When I discovered that Loreal makes Lancome I switched to Loreal Voluminous and Lashout which have my been longtime HG mascaras UNTIL I tried Panoramic Curl! The brush is amazing because it separates and lengthens my lashes at the same time. I have these in black, brown/black and plum. The only drawback is the formula is a little dry, but it goes on flake free and flawless. I love how it curls my lashes. EDIT UPDATE: After wearing this mascara for only a couple of weeks I noticed it dried out in the tube and was cakey on my lashes. As much as I love how the brush curls my lashes, the formula is much too dry. Back to Voluminous I go. I changed the lippie from a 5 to a 2:-(

Stick -Bobbi Brown - Foundation Stick
rated 1 of 5
singwritenow 3/3/2006 5:03:00 PM

I purchased this product mainly because of the packaging because I needed something ideal and compact for travel and because it had gotten decent reviews. I liked it at first when I tried it on at the counter but after a few hours noticed it made my skin look dry, parched and stale. I agree with the reviewer that said your skin needs to be well hydrated before applying but even though I have been doing this, my skin still looks dehydrated at the end of the day. I will not buy this product again and would not recommend it for anyone with dry/combination skin.
