Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner

I don't like this product on a lot of levels. I hate the scent. It doesn't do anything for my hair except dry out the ends. The pump sucks. I guess I don't have anything nice to say so I'm not going to say anything else.

Ok, this is up there with honey and the aspirin mask. I can't claim any credit - I saw it an a magazine - but it totally works. It's an AWESOME manicure. Mix equal parts milk and warm water. I'm not sure if lower fat milks would work as well - maybe not as moisturizing. Buttermilk might work REALLY well! I added a few drops of vitamin E oil, stirred it good with a whisk, then soaked for 10 minutes. I put more E oil on my cuticles, pushed them back, then did a scrub (BBW True Blue Spa - I love that stuff!) Rinse, then add more oil on my cuticles and lotioned up - my hands are SUPER soft. My cuticles have been really dry but they look and feel SO much better. My hands smell like I've been milking a cow, but next time I'll use soap instead of just rinse. :)

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Caruso Professional ION Steam Hairsetter

OK, I lied - THIS is my HG. My hair would never even THINK of holding a curl until this. I would show it a curling iron and get a shrug - hot rollers would elicit sarcastic laughter. Yes, hair can laugh at you. But then the Caruso came along. Again, I'd been pointed to this by MUA and was lucky enough to find one at Ulta (I gotta say, the biggest bonus of moving to VA is access to Ulta. Sorry, my D-future-H!!) It takes me about two minutes to set my hair, and I have curl/volume that lasts all day. Leave it in while I brush my teeth/apply makeup, take the rollers out, bend forward and finger-comb, then flip up and to a spritz of hair spray. Sure, it loosens a bit as the day goes on, and on super humid days forget it, but at least there's SOMETHING left at the end of the day. I NEVER got that with hot applications. Sometimes the curlers slide down (it's like the cover doesn't click in or something) but you can secure it with a hair clip. I also use just the clip on the front section or I get a crease, but this is the best thing that ever happened to my hair. BTW - I have the ion version, which I use (unless I'm leaving the house at the but crack of dawn before D-future-H because it makes a clicking noise) but I don't notice a difference in how my hair behaves on either setting. I'v read some people prefer (and still use) the salt method, but I haven't tried that. I did by an extra set of jumbo rollers (Amazon) and use them exclusively - my hair is about an inch past my shoulders.

I don't really have a HG product, because I'm too much of a PW (product whore!) to stick with anything. :) But if i did, this would be it. It's an awesome leave-in for my fine hair. I LOVE the scent - very soft and clean. Leaves my hair feeling silky, but not weighed down. My two complaints are: 1. It's not big enough - the largest size is a "TSA-friendly" 3.3 oz. 2. It squirts in a stream rather than a covering mist. I like to get it all over my hair, not just one spot! I'm considering putting it in a different spray bottle and maybe adding a little water. I'll let you know how that turns out, but for the most part, I'm loving this stuff. Found it at my local product brothel (most towns have 'em - you know the type, stores that sell every brand in every shape and size, kind a a generic Sephora or Ulta) but I also see it one Amazon. They also have a shampoo and conditioner that I'm jonesing to try. If I hadn't wrecked my car ... but they'll have to wait until next pay day! :)

Treatments -L'Oreal - EverCreme Nourishing Leave In Spray

I am a long-time MUAer, but I have not reviewed a lot. But I've decided that I must leave some legacy for my family, as an explanation of all those half-empty bottles and cartons of makeup in my closet. :) So here goes! I wanted to like this. I wanted to love it. It has 4.5, and for the most part you ladies haven't steered me wrong (BTW, you're all responsible for most of the stuff in the closet!!:) ) But this did nothing for me. After using it, my hair felt crunchy and dry on the ends. I tried it after a couple different conditioners (in the EverPure/Creme line) but no luck. On the last day, I even ended up setting my hair with my Caruso steam rollers (more on them later-LOVE 'EM!) and squirting each section with Black 15-in-1 (more on it also to come). Plus, I'm not A fan of the scent - I'm just not a fan of tropical-y smells. This won't come back out of the closet.

I'm a product whore, and this is the only body wash I've ever purchased more than once. Now it's the only thing I buy. It's cheap, it smells good (but not overpowering - it doesn't compete with perfume at all) and it moisturizes. Good, good stuff! **2012 edit** I've since switched to a couple different things, but I'd forgotten how much I liked this. I may have to try to find some ...

Styling Products -Nexxus - PhytoOrganics OmniStyler

This is a God send for fine hair. It's a gel - but not. The subhead is "Versatile Styling Liquid," and liquid it is. It's more like water. I had to use more than I would a gel to get the volume, but it doesn't get crunchy like a gel. It gives my hair a TON of body, and the scent is nice - not flowery but not too green. I also used it with hot rollers for a party and it gave me soft, bouncy curls. If they stop making this, I may shave my head ...

Conditioner -Nexxus - Phyto-Organics Nectaress Conditioner
poncholefty 12/21/2007 12:57:00 PM
This line is my new holy grail. I bought liters. I never buy liters. I plan to use every drop of this. It is more of a detangler, but if you have fine hair, it works great. It conditions just enough without being too heavy. I love the scent too. This is a GREAT product line.

Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Repair Serum with Attar of Rose
poncholefty 11/16/2007 10:02:00 PM
I put this on my eyes. I put it on my face. I put it on my cuticles and hands. I put it on my cat, Alex. (He has a bad flaky skin problem. Well, had, until I put this on him. If I can catch him, I'll post a picture of his flaky butt sans Repair Treatment!)I never thought I'd use oil on my face, but this is light, and smells nice and is just right for my normal skin. I've been using it for a couple weeks, and no breakouts. I don't remember any whacked out, artificial ingredients, so I wasn't worried about using it on the cat and it does seem to help. Any skin type could use this - it can go anywhere you want smoother, softer skin. I can see where the packaging could cause problems, but I think, for as little as you need, the price is great.

This is my new fave. I love the scent, the way it makes my hair feel and behave. It's not too spendy for being a "high end" products. I recommend this for fine-haired ladies!

Once again, the MUA ladies come through for me! I thought the aspirin mask was crazy, until I tried it, so I had to give this a try too. O. M. G. Now, I mix the honey WITH my aspirin and VIOLA! Beautiful skin. I'm looking forward to the suger/honey scrub too! Thanks ladies!! And those of you who haven't tried it - GO TO THE STORE NOW!! :)

Makeup Brushes -Lancome - Foundation Brush
poncholefty 9/29/2007 8:01:00 PM
OK, I know this sounds crazy, but I use this to apply eye shadow. I never really got the hang of applying foundation with it (too thick for me) but it lays down a nice, sheer layer of all-over color on the eyes. It's soft and holds just the right amount of color for me. It's also great for applying the aspirin mask. Try it ... the brush AND the mask ... trust me ... *EDIT** Still have this brush - still use it for e/s sometimes ... still works great! :)

Styling Products -TRESemme - Tres Two Ultra Fine Mist Hairspray
poncholefty 9/21/2007 9:50:00 PM
This is a nice hairspray. It does dry fast, but it holds up well. I got through a work day without having to pull my hair back for the first time in months. It's not too sticky, or make my hair too crunchy. When I reapply, it doesn't feel like I'm adding a more - it blends right in like a first application.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Volume-Volumizing Mousse Mega Hold (Replaces Volume & Body Thickening Mousse)
poncholefty 9/21/2007 9:48:00 PM
*UPDATE* After about two weeks, my head started itching like CRAZY!! When I stopped using this, it went away. :( And I liked it so much! ------- I can't believe I haven't tried this sooner - and that I keep trying products without checking with all you ladies first! This is the best mousse I've ever tried. Gives me great body and hold, smells great AND costs next to nothing. I got my hair cut short a few months ago, and have gone through TONS of products - some drugstore varieties make my head itch, some expensive ones won't hold 'doo. But this one is GREAT. Thanks for steering me in the right direction once again!
