Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Shimmerbrick Shimmer Brick Compact (All colors)

when i spotted that it was on sale,i got the nectar shade.when i swatched it on my hand,it was a beautiful color, and looked frost-not glittery.the effect was very similer to my beloved mac-Shell pearl beauty powder.since i used so much of it since it came out and it is a collection item, dupes are always welcomed.i am pale and this color works as a blush on me.well, not totally working.it is too powdery, the shimmer is not even and it gives me a cakey face.it looks like i have used excessive cheap product on a dry, peeled skin when i actually have oily skin which is always well taken care of.when i wet my brush,or use it over some liquid/cream blush base,it looks lovelier.and like most of the reviewers said,it emphasizes my pores.they are not even that huge but nectar takes care of that! overall,i am not totally pleased with it.I can make it work when i have time and actually want to,but at this price using a product shouldn't be that challenging

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free
nekroze 2/18/2011 8:15:00 AM
I really think that this tm is a true fail.before buying it,i wass seeing it on everywhere,magazines,blogs...models,actresses saying that it is their HG.so i got it.i didnt expect it to create miracles,i just wanted a good tm.but it fails in everyway. I have combination to oily skin with very oily t zone.during winter my face becomes less oily, actually quite close to being comb to normal, still with dry spots.I got the oil-free in winter and i was hoping that i wont be needing a moisturizer under it.but it didnt bring any moisture to my skin.my dry spots were dry as always, plus with a layer of tm on them, they just looked terrible.I already have oily skin so i dont want to use an extra moisturizer with a tm. the second issue is that i cant set this thing.it doesnt matter what powder i am using,it just continues to travel around my face.when i touch my face,it stains my fingers, and the worst,my fingerprints appear on my face.what a terrible sight. being thick, not easy blending and creating a cakey, unnatural face is an another issue. i dont expect a tm to stay on my face for hours,or to have a great oil control power.but my face gets oily in every 2-3 hours, while it disappers on my nose in less than 1 hour.and all these happens in winter time,so i really cant imagine using it in summer.it also oxidize so in several hours i am having an orange face. i think an oil-free products should be useful on oily skins but that is not working with this product.I gave it to my mum,who has a dry skin, and she says she is pleased with it. i have used many foundations,tm to this day but this is one of the rare ones that is on the black list.I highly recommend people to try this thing first before buying since it is expensive, and even more expensive in my country.I really think that high presentation of laura mercier products(red carpet, high end magazines etc) is the reason why this tm is so famous among many other better ones.at this price tag,you have many other options to choose from,so dont buy this based on just advertising.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Vex
nekroze 2/18/2011 7:55:00 AM
another all time fav from mac shadows.i love iridescent colors, and this one is really pretty.it can be paired with every shade.but i mostly i use it alone.when i am not in the mood for spending time on a serious eye make up,i cover my eyelid and tear duck with it,then blend with 217,and smudge my eye pencil.it instantly brightens my eyes.and since it is not a boring neutral shade,it gives some pop to your make up either.i also love layering vex over black eyeliner,as every iridescent color does,it instantly creates a new color from your usual dark one.it has a good quality, pigmented and blends easily.this is one of the rare shadows that someday i will hit the pan and buy again

Polishes -OPI - Black Shatter
nekroze 2/12/2011 4:07:00 PM
when i saw the crackled nails on some blog,my first thought was "i need it".i lusted after it for several weeks and finally got my hands on this.the products itself is nothing less than i expected, instant great effect! there are some tricks on applying it however. The formula is very thick, almost like a polish that has gone bad.if you apply so much product, the crackles are getting bigger.a tiny coat gives you little crackles which i prefer.also when you achieved the look you would like to have, you should use your top coat in no time, otherwise it continues to crackle.plus it takes some time to dry but the result is lovely.i think it looks really good on shimmery or glittery polishes.I once tried a sheer iridescent coat on cream polish-shatter duo and it looks heavenly!

Concealers -Clinique - Line Smoothing Concealer
nekroze 2/7/2011 2:15:00 PM
I have this in "moderately fair" shade.I am nc20 and the color works well for me under the eyes.however it looks darker on dark spots.I didn't have great expectations when buying this but still i am disappointed. My eye area is terrible, really dark and always tired looking.it does a good job covering the area and illuminates a little.but at the same time settles in every little line that i have.and i am 22 years old so no real "lines" here.also it definetely doesnt moisturize.there is not much dryness under my eyes and i always use eye creams before concealing but still it looks very cakey.when i check my make up in the sunlight,i can see that the product looks like a deserted area and there are cracked looking concealer all over the fine lines.it gets even worse when a setting powder applied.i tried it with different eye creams, different brushes and powders.mac 217 is my long time favourite for blending liquid concealers and even it didnt turn out to be good when it comes to this one.since i cant seem to make it work for my eyes,i am using it on my face.it is nice when covering the spots, pimples etc.however i dont have much imperfections such as those so i think someone having problems with those issues should say this. all in all,it is a conc. that does a terrible job when is comes to line smoothing.I won't but again for sure

Lipstick -MAC - Toxic Tale (Venomous Villains)
nekroze 1/13/2011 1:36:00 PM
i loooove this lippie.i am more of a dark berries and reds person, but this crazy color took my breath away.it goes totally orange on me(light pink-beige lips) unlike some swatches on the net.formula is great, opaque, rich and matte yet creamy.the only bad thing is that is LE and i didnt buy a back up for some reason,so i try not to use it much. plus great packacing and lovely name:)

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
nekroze 11/24/2010 11:43:00 AM
I am always on search for better skin makeup products but until i find an another one, this is one of the best concealers i have ever used. I normally use NC15/20 but for some reason NC concealers are turning gray on my eye circles. So i went for NW20 which looks totally natural and matches perfectly with my skin tone. I have dry and very dark eye area, which still manages to get oily at the same time.My eyes are also sensetive,so they usually get watery when i apply concealers. This product does a good job covering my dark circles(which are really dark!),i also have some redness around the area and it covers that as well.it looks natural and blends into skin perfectly, but since it is a dryer product, moisturizing first is always a good call.if you apply it thick, there is a high chance that it will crease in your lines.I set it with a transperent powder as i always do,and it really stays for hours. I often use my fingers for applying products to my eye area, but this one is very liquid, almost watery and it gets hard to use your fingers, which are removing the product while applying it at the same time.I dont personally love conc. brushes, but the mua used the 217(blending) brush and wow! I couldnt think of using a blending brush by myselfibut the result is perfect, especially if you are a liquid conc. virgin like me. the only thing i didnt like so far is the packacing.it is small and nice chic looking but the pump really sucks.i always get so much product even with a light hand.so as the other reviewers said,it gets wasted. all in all, this is a perfect product, and since i hate those brands which carry only 3-4 color options even with perfect concealers, this is totally my HG. EDIT: here comes one after using half of the bottle. My thoughts haven't changed but I am having color match issues.it looks nice when I apply my make up in my room, but I realised that it looks a little dark outdoors, especially in sunlight.by dark I dont mean orange or gray, but it gives a strange dull cast to my eye area.the NW15 is too light for me,NC's are turning gray,so I don't really understand what I am really doing wrong here.I saw people are mentioning that the product dries to dark on heavy eye circles so I am guessing I need a pink corrector in order to deal with the dullness.if I can't make the color work for me,sadly I guess I might have to check out for an another HG.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium/Dark
nekroze 11/14/2010 12:20:00 PM
oh BP,where have you been all this time?i have tried so many setting powders to this day, very expensive to drugstore brands.but since i met this its like "hello dear and goodbye shiny face".it controls oil literally.not one of the many sheer powders on the market that are looking good within the first several hour after applying but turns you into a shiny mess.it sets my foundation, tinted moist either, they dont slide on my face.i use it when i wear no make up too, because i have a combo skin and terribly shiny t zone and eyelids.btw the sponge that comes with the products is not really good, can be useful for quick touch-ups only.the tip is to apply it lighly.i get the perfect velvety(not cakey) finish with the famous 187 brush.doesnt look cakey on my dy spots either.totally HG! btw if you are buying online, the shades are a little confusing.i am nc15/20,i tried light medium in the store, but it looked pale.the mua suggested medium dark and it surprised me that shade got to be the suitable match.so be careful not to hae a ghostly pale face, even though BP is nearly totally sheer

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Pink Opal
nekroze 11/14/2010 12:05:00 PM
one of the most beautiful products i have ever seen,i can just swatch it on my hand and watch how sweet that duochrome color is.this is how these vibrant shades make me feel(sounds like a total makeup junkie).i use it mostly as a cheek highlighter and looks gorgeous on my fair skin.looks great with a matte back eyeshadow too.i dont like over-shimered highlighters, but these kind of stuff is really my thing.chic, not extreme and yet original.the only downfall is that i am not totally satisfied with the lasting power.i apply it wet but still needs reapply sometime.i 've heard that it is being discounted,i have used the half of the jar to this day(old bigger pigment jars),it its is reallygonne be disc., i am definetely buying a back up

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
nekroze 11/14/2010 11:52:00 AM
i was looking for a corrector for my very dark/red eye circles.i have heard all the praise about this and gave it a shot(peach shade).the result? definetely bad.the price makes it even worse.it cant cover the circles and leaves a gray color which is always terrible.when i use a little more product than it turns me into an old lady.and disappears in no time.1 hour before it creases.definetely a loser

Liquid -Calvin Klein - Infinite Matte Oil Free Foundation
nekroze 11/5/2010 9:57:00 AM
HG alert! too bad to have a discounted HG product but this is perfect.i have been looking for a matte yet natural longlasting foundation with medium coverage and oil-free tag.mostly matte long-lasting foundations are too heavy(like estee lauder DW).but this one is not.it feels like i dont have anything on my skin.blends perfectly, doesnt clog my pores and looks too natural-between dewy and matte.lasting power is great too.i think the coverage is more sheer to medium than medium.but it is buildable and works well for me.too bad that it is DC,but thanks god it is still available.packacing is lovely btw, looks modern and chic without being ridicilously posh for color-matching: i am nc15/20,though i dont have strong undertones.i use Soft Beige and suits me perfect,no orange tint either

Blush -MAC - Taupe
nekroze 10/31/2010 12:39:00 PM
perfect contouring powder! i went to a mac store to the shade "sculpt" but there wasntleft any.the mua told that pro products are not getting back in stock frequently and suggested taupe,so i gave it a try.i have to say that this is the product i loved the most among so many contouring blushes/powders.it is buildable, nicely pigmented and easy to blend, great lasting power too(on oily skin).what i like about sculpting powders is that they are not as chalky as blushes.btw like the previous reviewer i am nc20-nc15 too and the color suited me perfectly.no redness/orange tint and definetely not an ashy face.so these shadowy colors an be so different, even more different than most makeup products so trying it before buying is always a good thing to do.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Dermal Clay Facial Cleanser
nekroze 10/22/2010 5:47:00 AM
my skin is combination to oily.this is the first cleanser that didnt dry out my skin.i use it morning ad evening and no problem had occured for months.it controls the oil, helps my struggle with blackheads and refreshes the skin.totally perfect.the price tag is high but you get a huge bottle and little amount of product does the job.i have been using this for months everyday and i havent even finished half of the bottle.so a fair price for me.i hear from some people that it doesnt clean make up.yes it doesnt but then again it is not supposed to.i apply my normal make up cleaning routine and this at last, which makes me get rid of all the leftovers of make up either

Polishes -MAC - Formidable! (Venomous Villains)
nekroze 10/22/2010 5:30:00 AM
what a beautiful color,it may sound stupid to have a HG polish but this might be for me.the color is pure Maleficent, thats how i would imagine a shade for her.i used two thin coats and one normal at top to have an opaque finish.as top coat, rimmel's ultra shine made a huge difference.the color became a lot more vibrant so i prefer shiny top coats for those duochromes.it doesnt last very well though.funny thing that most expensive polishes don't either.but will i buy again? hell yes!
