Blush -NYX - Cinnamon
melangerehab 3/11/2013 1:24:00 AM
Every time I went to Ulta and browsed NYX's blushes, I was always torn about this color. It's intimidating, right? It seems rough, but it looks GREAT. Very pigmented, very smooth, NYX blushes deliver, as always. I'm SO glad I got it. It looks amazing on pale skin and even better with an orange lip (I'm using Revlon's Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti) and it's a great look for spring, like putting a sunset on your face. REALLY pretty, very pleased with this purchase. It's a ton of product and it'll probably last me a long time, but I would rebuy if I ran out anytime soon.

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti
melangerehab 3/11/2013 1:21:00 AM
If you buy a Lip Butter, do me a favor before using it: Open it up, and twist it so you can see all the product in it. Compare the amount of product in there to what you paid for it. Yeah. A little bit disappointing. I will say that this is a really pleasant formula, though. I liked it, it's fun, a pretty color. I can't wait for spring, this is a great color for it. But unfortunately, I don't see the need to repurchase. It's just not enough unless you get it on sale or something. The formula is smooth, comfortable, and moisturizing... but unfortunately, like all lip butters, it loses a lip with me because of its poor staying power. An hour or two at best.

Treatments -Garnier - Sleek and Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment
melangerehab 2/9/2013 6:48:00 PM
I love this product, I do, I do, I do. It smoothes frizzies, leaves a pleasant scent, and helps lock in moisture without leaving my hair feeling greasy or sticky. It leave my hair soft and touchable. It doesn't make your hair shampoo-commercial shiny, but I do notice a slight difference. This might be tied with other my favorite hair styling product, Proclaim Glossing Polish. I alternate between using those; I still can't tell which one I like better. I don't know else what I can say that hasn't already been said here.

Tools -Urban Decay - Grind House (sharpener)
melangerehab 2/9/2013 6:41:00 PM
I got one of these with Urban Decay's 15 year anniversary eyeliner set and I haven't felt the need to replace it. Very sharp, easy to empty on both sides, cute design. But most importantly, it does the one thing you expect it to do. Be careful, though - I tried to clean some creamy UD eyeliner off of the blade with an eyeliner brush and I cut half the bristles off, haha. This little sharpener doesn't play around.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - 080 Strawberry Shortcake
melangerehab 2/9/2013 6:18:00 PM
The color is cute, but tends to look bad if your lips aren't perfectly smooth and exfoliated. It feathers something awful for me and kinda looks weird with my pale skin. When I twisted up the tube to see how much product was there, I was surprised at how little there was - it was not worth the seven dollars I paid for it. The formula is smooth, comfortable, and moisturizing... but unfortunately, like all lip butters, it loses a lip with me because of its poor staying power. An hour or two at best.

Lipstick -Urban Decay - Revolution
melangerehab 2/5/2013 9:06:00 PM
Bought this on sale for three dollars. Pretty color, but not very wearable most of the time, you have to keep the rest of your makeup very toned down in order to pull this off. I think a red should be more versatile. I like the texture but it doesn't stay as long as I'd like, so I wouldn't get it again.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Smoked
melangerehab 2/5/2013 7:43:00 PM
While this palette is not one I would ever recommend for simple or neutral looks, I do have to say all of the colors are beautiful and of great quality, and for that, this palette is a very fine supplement to any eyeshadow collection. Loaded, Evidence, and Mushroom are among my favorite eyeshadow colors of all time.

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry Shampoo
melangerehab 1/29/2013 10:54:00 PM
Lo, in days long gone, the women did weep and pound their chests and pull out their dull and lifeless hair, abandoned by their Goddess of Shine and Body. Despite their frequent treks to the porcelain temples and their rigorous cleansing rituals the oiliness in their hair did persist and they were left with flat, untouchable locks. They cried to the Goddess, shouting to the heavens, “O, why have you forsaken us, Goddess of Shine and Body? Have we not toiled for you? Have we not showered every other day; must we shower daily? Have we not been diligent in applying only the highest quality leave in conditioner, but not too much? We even read reviews online and bought Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree shampoo for chrissakes, that shit was over twenty dollars, what the hell?" And one day, a perfectly coiffed saint from a land far away approached the suffering women. With her she did carry the one and only dry shampoo worth purchasing, unlike that Tresemme bullshit which deserves to be cast into the fiery pit from whence it came. She embraced the women and held them to her bosom, and with a sweet voice she did tell them, “My children, suffer you no longer, for I am Your Lady of Batiste, and with me I bring this aerosol can that will provide your hair with healthy volume and rid it of the oils that plague you. Go, use it now, lift thy hair and spray into thy roots, for thy hair is straight up nasty. But make sure to comb vigorously after you apply, since it does leave little white flakes that some may mistake for dandruff. With this, you have great power, but do not take up the false pride of the heathens and shower only once a week, you must stay committed to proper cleansing. Give your weary hearts rest, for your salvation is now available at participating Ulta locations.”

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Definition mascara
melangerehab 12/5/2012 1:40:00 PM
I was actually pleasantly surprised with this one. I'm a believer in high end makeup for everything BUT mascara, and this one compares with my favorite drugstore mascara, really. It doesn't clump too much but it separates the lashes nicely and makes them look clean and long. No flakes and not much smudging from what I can tell. I still prefer Maybelline's Full n Soft for everyday looks but this mascara is slightly more dramatic and for that, I'd say it's worth rebuying. I'm glad I got it.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - The Egg Bomb
melangerehab 11/16/2012 2:19:00 PM
I have done this twice and I have gotten really good results. First time I used three egg yolks, second time, I used two egg yolks, one egg white, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. The egg was so cold it solidified the coconut oil so I recommend leaving the egg out at room temperature for a while if you're using coconut oil with it. It's gross, and smells terrible - not a lot makes me gag, but the eggy after-smell is repulsive to me. I can't help but knock a lippy off for the smell and the difficulty in applying it - it is messy, messy, messy. I like coconut oil hair masks, too, but I think this works better, provided you wash it all out very thoroughly. I had to wash my hair twice the second time I did the egg bomb because the hair below my crown was still oily and greasy looking - which was awkward since I've never had that problem before. To me, this seems like a messy, time-consuming, and stinky hair treatment, but while it's high-maintenance, it gets my hair soft, shiny, bouncy, and strong, so it is worth it. I'll be doing it again, for sure. If your hair is dull and flat and blah and nothing seems to help, I would suggest giving this a try. I can't comment on the effects of this on damaged hair, however. I rarely use hot styling tools and I don't dye my hair.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Generic Value Products GVP Conditioning Balm
melangerehab 11/16/2012 1:37:00 PM
I'm pleased with this purchase. I like skipping my normal conditioning and using this as a leave-in. I've gotten great results... quality conditioner, though it can be frustrating to get out of the bottle. My hair is smooth and soft and happy.

Styling Products -Sexy Hair Concepts - Big Sexy Hair - volume mousse
melangerehab 11/16/2012 12:42:00 PM
Ugh, no, ew to this stuff. I'm so glad I just got a sample size of it. I started out using a tiny amount of this just to see how my hair would like it, and it made my hair HEAVIER and FLATTER than when I use no volumizing products at all. It makes my hair sticky and greasy and I have to avoid touching my hair because it makes my hands sticky, too. It doesn't look gross but it feels gross, and it doesn't do what you want it to do. Would not recommend.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
melangerehab 11/15/2012 3:42:00 PM
While not a strong powder foundation all on its own, I have been using this as a setting powder to put on top of my BB cream and/or concealer, and I have to say, I'm thinking that I'm finally done looking for a powder. I am super impressed with the quality. So smooth, so finely milled, such lasting power! No oiliness throughout the day; I look dewy and natural. Very pleased with this purchase.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
melangerehab 11/15/2012 3:37:00 PM
Other people have said it, and I will too: the granules in this scrub are too big and will cause microtears and damage over time. When it comes to exfoliating, a scrub with tiny granules, used gently, will be much better. I do not recommend this one. I would suggest Queen Helene's Oatmeal and Honey scrub, or plain white sugar, which I hear is a good scrub, although I have not tried it myself.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
melangerehab 11/15/2012 3:35:00 PM
Oh, Diorshow. As far as price goes... I simply cannot justify spending this much for mascara. It is black goop you put on your eyelashes. Eyelash goop should not cost me an arm and a leg when most mascaras are well below ten dollars. Brand name aside, it is not a reasonable price for the quality, which is subpar. I got a small sample of this years ago, and I liked it well enough for a mascara, but it was clumpy and flakey. I separated my lashes when I needed to and wiped away fallout throughout the day, but that's a waste of time. I've tried several drugstore mascaras that either match this quality or exceed it. Not worth it, IMHO.
